Roger Moores bond movies for me are 1000% EUPHORIC . I was born in 73 rogers 1st outing as bond in live and let die, so i literally grew up with Roger Moore. i was bullied at school and i recalled him taking me on these amazing adventures all around the world knowing that good would always prevail. Roger ignited that magic in my heart and soul , and even today years after his passing i will never lose those feelings, those experiences he gave me, he IS my icon, he IS my hero. and such a big part of my life one in which will forever be with me. The magic of Roger Moore, thankyou sir.
Hear, hear! What I love about Moore's era is that even the occasional, modern fans of Daniel Craig's ANTI-Bond can perhaps appreciate Connery's classics like Goldfinger, and certainly Dalton's and Brosnan's. The Moore movies however are only for the strong and proud!
Incredibly well articulated. I had a bit of an issue with some of the really madcap moments but as sheer entertainment, uncompilable. As much as I actually do like the Craig era, Moore's Bond was my during my formative years and I haven't left a theatre feeling the same since. I do really miss that.
Yes. Sir Roger Moore is my favourite Bond. I went to a double bill of Man with the Golden Gun and Spy who loved me and really enjoyed them both. When Moonraker came out I fell in love with with it and its my favourite ever Bond film. I'm a huge fan of the Bond Franchise but my favourite era will always be Roger Moore.
"Octopussy" also had the most GALLANT James Bond LADY of the whole bunch: MAUD ADAMS! Her second Bond movie!😉 As a matter of fact, "Octopussy" exposed THREE Swedish pearls! Maud Adams, Kristina Wayborn & Mary Stavin. Very Nice!😘
Sir Roger Moore was definitely the best James Bond, adding his personal style and charisma, Rita Coolidge complemented it with this wonderful song, timeless masterpiece, Roger Moore at his finest
Roger Moore- was older than Connery but he looked younger and a very handsome actor. His Bond was so entertaining! Connery was the better actor overall, but for us 1980s kids - Bond James Bond - Roger forever!
Ahh….. blue eyes, handsome sir Roger. I used to watch bond films with my father. I miss them both- my father and sir Roger. My favorite bond ever. Currently, I still watch Octopussy and escape into happiness.
Loved the song, loved the movie, had a LP and a 45 records of this song. Loved this song when it first came out, listened to it many times, danced to it at parties and enjoyed this movie. I just turned 57 and this music is timeless, still amazing and enjoy it just as much now.
Summer 1983, I was 8 and couldnt believe 2 Bond movies were coming out in the same year - this and never say never again. These films were such good escapism, now they come out every 4 years on average (if you're lucky) and are turgid affairs bordering on being 3 hours in length - take me back 40 years!
Watched this film in June 1983 with a bunch of fellow recent grads from my high school, in a long-gone theater on the boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ. I don't think I've heard the theme song since then, although it was on the radio as a minor hit that summer. Such an early '80s song, and how old Roger Moore appears. I seem to have forgotten most of the scenes but I always appreciated the humorous touch in Moore's Bond films. Good tribute.
Looking up the song, Wikipedia says lyricist "Tim Rice described 'All Time High' as 'not one of the most exciting Bond songs...just a nice, dreamy ballad.'" I totally agree! It always sounded to me like it was sort of not reaching the heights that a hit should, it didn't have real hook. Hearing it today it strikes me as another one of those songs that evokes an earlier time, the lost period of the early 1980s, with vestiges of the late '70s clearly still in there, unlike the metallic, cold music that overtook the pop music industry by 1984.
I always felt the song was better fit for romance movies rather than spy thrillers. BTW, Roger Moore planned to retire after For Your Eyes Only. Eon Productions begged him to return after Sean Connery decided to play James Bond again for the rival studio's Never Say Never Again.
Me too!! Specifically it was my 2nd movie cinema experience as a 9 year old boy. This theme song has stuck with me ever since. Roger Moore was the Bond of my childhood, but Connery and Craig are still my favourite Bonds. Moonraker and License to Kill (Timothy Dalton) are also favourites of mine.
For me the three best James Bond films were: The spy who loved me (with great song), For your eyes only (with great song, too) and Octopussy (again with another great song) with beautiful ladies...How i miss those great films!!!!.And for the best James Bond were Roger Moore and Sean Connery...High level...!!!
think Roger actually liked this film the most as it matched his style of Bond the most. Plus he was happy Bond had a woman closer to his own age in it lol
Only Dalton came into the conversation, had he done more, I think he would have been in the conversation, same for George Lazenby. However, if ifs and buts were candy and nuts...etc. Connery and Moore remain the best Bond actors with longevity and quality.
One of my favorite James Bond soundtrack. It is lovely when the film ends with that song. Thanks for sharing. I really feel all time high again when I hear again the immortal voice of Rita Coolidge.
Even more would admit he was far too old to play the role. I believe he was 56 when he filmed Octopus. There was a lot of campy stuff, too. That said, this movie had some great dramatic moments: Moore's intensity and desperation in the bomb scene finale is one example.
Bond is out there traveling the globe, saving England, being an unstoppable super-spy and a suave lady magnet. I'm not getting down on myself, but I do make quite the contrast, spilling pizza toppings on my shirt.
really loved Donald Pleasance and Telly Savalas as bad guys from 60/70s. Great ttile song from Nancy Sinatra. Always hummed it when going in for hospital surgery!

You've just got to love Roger Moore Bond movies. They are literally their own thing in comparison to the other Bond Movies. Good fun and escapism.
Sean Connery and Roger Moore - both had magnificent presence.
Dalton was supposed to act this movie and for your eyes only also view to a kill.Still it turned out one of the best bond movies.
