Hey Kellen. I got into your videos during the first lockdown. I wasn’t able to travel to my local beaches to surf so was looking for something that would focus on flexibility and mobility (instead of the usual HIIT training videos) but also work the CV system, to keep me primed, fit and ready during those weird times. Your videos are actually *insane* for building the necessary core stability, flexibility and mobility needed for surfing. As I’m now in my 40’s and a weekend warrior, I need routines like this to prevent myself seizing up, and to keep me nimble for those 3/4 times a month I get a pass to get in the sea. I was wondering if anyone else had reached out to you about the benefit your training methods have on surf fitness?
One surfer reached out to me on Instagram and he shared many of the same insights. I don't live near an ocean but it's always been a dream of mine to surf. I've never tried it but I'm happy to hear of the transferability from this style of training. And happy to hear you're giving back to your body and continuing to get out for the activities that make you come to life. Keep on flowing, Will! 🤘🏽
This was great! I commented on another one (thanks for responding) about slowing it down and then I found this. You are really changing my mobility. Went for a muddy hike yesterday and when I had a little slip, my back didn't seize and my body rebounded so much more easily than it ever would have .Thank you so much! Yes, great example! Ground movement acts as a buffer against those minor tweaks that occur in real life movement. The practice is helping bridge that gap between sedentary modern living and being free & confident to move in an environment.

Squirming!!! Could not have come at a better time. A few days ago I twinged my mid back, left side. I call it the breathing muscle because it hurt to breathe 😅 anyway, the squirming felt so good on that area, thank you again 😊

Thank you for another awesome practice! Silly story - a stool collapsed under me at work a couple days ago, and in a split second I managed to grab the stool and pull it out from underneath me with one hand, landing on my feet. A coworker said I did some kind of spin on the way down, but I don't remember that part! lol I'm thankful I've spent so much time building an awareness of how to move with you, cause it surely would have hurt to land on that metal stool. 😂

Can you please recommend a round mat to purchase? If my knees press into the floor it causes a lot of discomfort and pain. Are there any that are a little thicker than a typical yoga mat? Thank you!

It depends on the type of movements and the ground surface. Usually I'm either barefoot or I'm wearing a very soft and flexible shoe.

Hate to say this, if you are already fit, strong, and have a better mobility then most men, you can do alot of these movements.
Otherwise not for someone that need to lose some fat, get additional mobility training elsewhere.
Not saying what he does will not work, it does. It just most people like myself have trouble moving like him. Where we can start just fast we can quit.
So instead I will come back around when the time is right.
Step by step my friend. Just commit to any kind of movement and you will get where you would like to be.
Supine Squirm reminds me of crawling under barbed wire during hell week, Minus the explosions. LOL
