those maps are really bad I think if WG made a map editor that players can make their own map or modify the ones already in the game players would upload it vote for the best map design and it would be chosen by the community personally I would enjoy making my own map and playing with the editor
I don't feel like playing Wot anymore, I come home from work, I enter the game to relieve stress, but I get more stressed and turn it off... The constant arrival of new events has also turned me off from the game. Because I don't want to spend time on these, but the game forces you to do this...
Literally, games are supposed to RELIEVE frustration. However, WoT is the opposite, when I still played the game there were just too many frustrating aspects (bad teammates, arty stuns, stupid RNG everywhere, bad map design and more) which is why WoT inherently fails as a game in my opinion. I found myself just having less and less fun over time
Same here, I play it to have fun but I haven't had fun in years now, I can't grind and the developers that treat the game like it's a job, I do not have time to play their stupid time limited events, is rather play something else or watch a movie. The game is super frustrating and not fun at all
How are you forced to do those events lmao. I've played for nearly 10 yrs and I haven't completed single marathon. Same goes for battlepasses, never got all rewards from any of those. If you don't want to do it, just DON'T lol, it's literally that simple
I am only average but my PR was extremely close to 5000 which was OK but in past few years it has dropped to just under 4300 my game play has not changed my skill has not decreased what has changed is players refusing to play, players hiding at the ba k in lights or rushing forward in the open to spot and quickly die in heavies ie almost every single game we get a min of a third of the team without any clue and I blame wargaming they have no proper play through modes for new players, they allow new players to rise up the tech tree far far quicker than you could 8 or 9 years ago. Progression now is their right it is not a reward for improving, for learning how to play. Too mnay new players have invested virtually nothing into earning higher tiers which should have started around tier 5 and should have been essential from tier 7 onwards. The best thing that could happen is they sell the game before it dies and is worthless.
Which is great, but also showcases the biggest problem with lootboxes. The new tanks locked behind them. You guys need to wait a long time before having a chance to get a new premium, as they dont seem to be introduced in any other way than lootboxes
@@villesuutari9528 Indeed; Sometimes its very frustrating for having an game where there are full of premiums. Sometimes I say Shit , I stop this game.

1:46 Haha, it is so funny because with the BZ176, Borasque and Skoda t56 in the game, Defender and Skorpion seem like completely balanced tanks. Little did we know back then that Defender was just a beginning.
the promise that premium tanks are always weaker than tech-tree counter part turned out to be a joke, and a big slap to anyone who bought old-timer premium tanks which are almost useless nowadays.

@@Gabriel-he6ihwar thunder also has a top tier problem. Top tier ground and air is somewhat of a shitshow right now. In the air you have to compete with multiple fire and forget missles, most of the teams on both sides are made of new players, that bought they way to top tiers through premium planes and barely know basic controls. Ground forces are suffering simillar problem, but their gameplay is more straight forward than air, so it more about awareness and quick reactions. Other than top tier War Thunder is actually doing better then it did in previous years due to recent economy changes forced by the community on the devs.
I find it hilarious that WoT console has a much better balanced top tier in both ww2 and cold war than it's PC variant and WT. It's the best option right now imo.
WT still holding up because it's still have no real competition for it, the only similar game is Enlisted which still owned by Gaijin. WoT on the other hand have shit tons of similar game in competition
As a former EU employee and quiet decent player who started the journey back in 2013, I could confidently say that everything has been changed somewhere around 2015. We had many employees (not just testers but product specialists, esport managers, etc.) drafted from player base back in those days and we all knew the direction of WG was extremely frustrating. The major change was done to hierarchy of WG departments. Before 2016 (or late 2015), WoT was ruled by Devs Team. Dunno why or what happened, but the executive board had couple changes and after that finance department moved up to the top. After these changes, everything was being decided by those finance guys. The introduction of OP Premium Tanks was the first impact. F.Department were trying to do their best to cut the expenses and to increase the revenue. Well, they did a excellent job in a short period of time and the board was happy. As game enthusiasts and entry or mid-level employees, we warned them. The game has the potential to be eternal and there are other ways to generate more money such as cosmetics, events, merchandise, etc. Now, in 2024 we all know where we are. I quit my job years ago, played WoT for 2 more years and I could not stand the unfair play anymore: pre.ammo spam, op. pre.tanks, etc.
That was my feeling as well. 2015ish is when my playtime began to drastically lower. The early years were imperfect if anything but fun and going the right direction. The very best era was the "0.8.x" versions. Especially post "Great Arty Nerf" and when the dispersion sigma were tightened and made skill and weakpoint knowledge vastly more important than RNG.
@@appi1387 they would not mind to speak, but most of them moved on. I am still around because I still have friends actively playing the game, clanwars especially. Time to time I come back to roll out with them. Couple of months ago, I saw a video of a game development (smth like devs blog) which represented by a high level of manager. I couldn't believe my eyes when I see that he got such high level position in devs team (not everyone in devs team is a coder, neither him). He was one of the worst who has absolutely no idea about the game, no fcks given to the community.. Personality wise, you could imagine the absolute monstrosity.. I really feel the same pain as kajzoo mentioning in the video. We have invested so much, time, money, friendships, etc. Wasted.. So sad.

Looking at your favorite game being closer to death day by day after you played it for the last 11 years, is one of the most painful things. It feels like your best friend started taking drugs and you see him getting destroyed without being able to do something
Rarely I've seen such a good description of seeing a game you've played for a long, long time slowly dying or at least starting to decay in quality and being milked more and more. It's horrible to see to be absolutely honest.
@@BlackjackN7 That is why games as a service will never be better than a proper game made for full play after release. People still play CS 1.6 , retrogame. These things cant be corrupted by greed.
@@Hartwig870 while being two *very* different things, considering the fact that a significant amount of people nowadays dont really have any true good friends in real life, they tend to use their favorite online-games as a kind of surrogate for a somewhat genuine human interaction (mostly subconsciously but still nontheless seen/felt as an important part of their life). Therefore, seeing your favorite online-game slowly degenerating into much-less-than-suboptimal versions of their former states can indeed feel pretty bad. Still, definitley not the same as seeing a true friend go down a bad road, but still a very unpleasant and in some cases perhaps heartbreaking experience.
Even as a War Thunder player, it really makes me sad to see how a company could give less of a shit about its players. I know Gaijin has had their fair share of issues with War Thunder, however they actually are now making at least some effort to engage with the community to fix their game. This just seems like blatant neglect and cash farming. I wanted to try WoT, and never got around to it, but what's happening now is just the nail in the coffin, and I have no interest in trying it out now.
As someone who started playing wot and switched to wt you aren’t missing out on much. Wt players love to bitch about gaijins handling of the game but wargaming straight up ignores any complaints and it shows.
@MaxxRemKing1 It's too late, I'm afraid. The best years of wot were in the early 2010's. 2024 WoT shares absolutely nothing with the things that 2013-2015 WoT had to offer, such as nostalgia and actual fun and balanced gameplay
I think WG made a mistake when they cut ties to the Russian server. The Russian server was the most profitable of all of them, so they cut themselves off from their biggest source of income. Making a political statement sometimes comes with too high of a price.
When the forum was eliminated, that was the ultimate warning that WoT no longer gave a damn about players and wanted all of us to know it. They removed the only source of feedback that they could not completely control, although they tried all kinds of censoring. When a company shuts down their customer complaint desk, it's over.

For me the game was ruined years ago when they introduced gold ammo for real money, I've spent a lot of time to research tier X american tank destroyer just to get killed every game easily by someone that paid to have better ammo:)
Honestly the franchise has been bleeding to death for a long time. They should have shut it down years ago, but have instead been finding every way possible to get revenue from a dying game. This has happened to so many free to play games over the years. They get VERY popular, but once popularity starts to die down, to keep the same revenue as before, requires more aggressive monetization. It isn't reasonable to expect a company to "NOT" want the game to remain profitable or as profitable as it was the year before. Issue is knowing when it give up and let the game die. I quit World of Tanks years ago and refuse to come back. I quit even before loot boxes were introduced. The game was already changing in ways that I didn't like, nor cared for. Even the changes to Light Tank match making upset me because I was a Dedicated Scout, I liked taking my PzII Luchs into tier 7 battles and my Leopard into tier 8 battles. There was nothing more satisfying in the game than coming up behind a weak T32 American Heavy Tank with the Leopard Light Tank and unloading the full 3cm MK103 into it's rear finishing it off. Back then light tanks were the stealthiest tanks, and often had the highest view ranges of any tanks on the field as well. Over time that changed. Machmaking changes to light tanks combined with nerfs on their view range.. the introduction fast mobile TDs/Mediums that basically did the job better, with more HP, better armor, and considerably more firepower. Light Tanks were no longer fun. Their role in the game was lost. That combined with the changes to the maps that made them over more closed it, making everything point blank range slug fest, making the advantages that remained like 'stealth' for a light tank well not even a factor anymore. Basically the entire game was getting ruined long before 2014.
the worst part its always bad games that succeed BECAUSE they use shady underhanded tactics designed to milk profit rather than create an enjoyable game. i like the idea of world of tanks but artillery and all the pay to win tanks ruin it. pure greed
true. this is the downside to capitalistic thinking where everything is commoditised. On the other hand, we should ask would the game be dying if it remained largely the same as it was in, say, 2014 (with each subsequent year adding a new map, or a new vehicle, or a new kind of consumable or new piece of equipment, or some other change like restricting arty to max 1 per game). I dont know the answer to that question but i suspect it would be no because the interest in WW2 era, arcade-type games will always be there, so therefore you'll have a steady stream of younger players joining the existing older players. Some older players might wanna try another game and take a break from WOT but then they might come back later. I dont understand why a company (ANY company) can't just be satisfied at consistently making, say, X million dollars a year in profit. Why this greedy desire to want more and more and more? I mean that is what is killing the game, surely?

I’d been playing WoT for 9 years now, but for the past year I never want to get on. Constant new events, Meta vehicles, constant “HEY WANNA BUY THIS?!”, and just overall realization that the devs don’t care and just want money. I’ve been having a much better time on War Thunder
The biggest problem of the game is that the management and people who have to say something in the company are not playing the game. Is just a money-printing machine for them.
it is ... until its not anymore. As soon as those "suits" take over from - more or less - passionate gamers/programmers/developers it goes down.ever.damn.time
a veteran here. played this game way back when the highest tier for SPGs was 8 and i recall somewhere the t30 was X, and the is4 was 9. all with the boxy looking graphics and limited variety of sounds. back then it was fun because everyone was equal, there wasnt another player in the game that had a certain tank that you could not have or an advantage over you. basically what ever that player has, you could get it with enough dedication and grind. everyone used standard ammo and standard equipment. TLDR: today's wot, bond equipment outperforms standards. op vehicles are locked behind a steep paywall, loot box exclusive, and gold ammo is required to be competitive which automatically makes premium account a must have or bleed economy. all of which a new player has to combat if they wish to learn the game, really is just too much to stomach.
I also remember this time. That was different but good! But you also have to say that you don't make any money with such a game. If there are no special things you pay for, then there is no money around. Of course, you could have left the game like that, but you would have had to pay for the game itself. But then it would definitely have died years ago. Because only new content brings money and keeps the servers going. That is sad but true.
The simple days. Around when WoT officially released. Germany, USSR, USA. Three tier 10s Maus, T30 and IS7, mediums up to tier 9 and SPGs up to tier 8.
Gamers want close wins or close losses. For example, MMO raid bosses are designed so that with the best gear you can *just* win. That's what gives players satisfaction. Overwhelming wins or losses used to be the exception, something remarkable. How did they screw it up so badly? Oh wait -- money.
1)he bought the account and the owner claimed it back. 2) he tried paying for a boost wot marks on tank and gave log in details and someone in the company stole it 3) he had a virus on his pc 4) he’s lying
@@Montaggg33 Not really if i recall correctly, but but we have to put in some context, at the time, most OP tanks weren't released, the game in 2017 wasn't the same at all, and a tank like the chrysler was absolutely horrendous at that time, it had exceptionnal armor and mobility, and the shells were useless if you were to shoot AP, so you had to shoot gold in it (the tank was annoying for you and ennemies), lower tier couldn't stand a chance, and it was clan wars only if I recall correctly, I don't know about a nerf, I don't want to say something on it because I don't know. The most interesting thing to note is the outrage this tank caused, which in nowdays, is a joke compared to all the tanks that came after this one (the armor is still reliable a bit). On other hands, the censorship SirFoch received (I mean sure he can go wild sometimes, and speak really dirty, I personnally liked his personnality) was insane, that was a dirty move from wargaming, and I just have an opinion that this happening is just lost to time, sure defender was the first big outrage, but chrysler was something too, since it showed that, when, you say true things, wargaming will take action and still doesn't listen/care. So yeah I really liked Kajzoo covering this incident, wise people will quote defender for topics like that, wiser people like Kajzoo will also point out the chrysler drama, I really like his expertise on this game. About 7 years before, we already had symptoms of wargaming true face
i disagree, the clear indicator of fate was when type 59 and super pershing where released. 2 very overpowered medium tanks that go fast and have armor of a heavy. type 59 super fast mobility decent gd and has a tier 10 turret armor. that is when game went full pay to win and the HE nerf to make people buy gold rounds
does SirFoch still play? I got kinda bored with his constant ranting & negativity so stopped watching his streams. He's right though to call out WG on a lot of their moronic changes to the game. Thinking about a vehicle like the Type 59 and SuperPershing now lol, no one would think they're OP compared to ridiculous vehicles like the BZ-176. The power creep is getting to absurd levels. I wouldnt be surprised if WG in a couple years introduced a vehicle that drives 60km/h, has near impenetrable sloped armour, a 160mm gun AND also FIRES rockets that do 1000 dmg wherever they hit. It'd be their swansong vehicle before shutting down WOT permanently 🤬

Same thing, i left 2 years ago (and i was coming only to get rewards). I've been playing since 2012 and i left not only because of money i spent, but the game was not fun anymore (thanks i played only with my mates in platoon).
I played since open beta, and I stopped playing long time ago I only back time to time. They kill e sport, they removed clan wars, guys from my clan went to china and Russia for turnaments
p2w is never a problem in games, its much worse to give better tanks to the best players. Whales don't ruin games, the make it possible for others to play for free. Much bigger problem are good gready players who take advantage of everything to stomp newbs.
Honestly I want to go back to when they had just changed the monetization of shells, when high pen shells were changed from costing gold to silver. Even though you had way fewer features of the minimap, and the matchmaker wasnt the best, it was at least a good game that didnt feel unplayable against a bunch of op premiums.
For me personally what pissed me the most was a shadownerf of tank economy, making playing without premium account and premium t8 tanks almost impossible.
I for one would like to see some of that dar proof. Maybe it did happen I haven't been paying that close attention. My first assumption is you're talking out your ass, I would like to be wrong.

Make pauses between playing, two or three days, hop on, play 5-10 games and make another pause. You will see increase in WR because this game, just like other MMO's have personal pattern recognition system. If you spam games after series of losses, you will continue to lose until system understands how much you can take and will give you wins. But when you quit after few losses and don't play for two days, system will award you with wins in the first few games. Play until 3 losses and stop. System will recognize you don't take more than three losses and don't play for two days, it gives you better MM and better RNG to keep you hooked.
The biggest problem by far is the MM system! Last weekend, I played 33 matches and lost 24, the majority of those 24 being decided in the first 2-3 minutes. It's really fked up to have one team with 6-7 players with over 55% winrate and the other team with 11-12 players with under 48% winrate. Or to have, for example, a team with 2-3 BZ-176 and 2-3 Skoda T 56 as top tier, while the opposing team has Emil 1, AMX 50 100, AMX 65t and other crap tanks...
This is why I always thought the MM was rigged. You would have 1 good day and after that 5 terrible days. It always felt like I was being punished. And the more I played and better I became the more I felt punished, even if I did 4-5-6k damage you would still loose and get nothing for it.
I played this game since 2012 all this years ONE thing was constant complain on MM. In this case MM its just a cherry on top of the cake , major issue is even possible tó finish match within 3 min. Reasons: map design, tanks speed, too high firepower. Just compare this version with older version like 0.90. IT Will be a different game without turbo battles and same sh.t MM.
do you want to know why match maker is like this? its because it purposefully puts paying players with high skilled player on one team usually in over powered premium tanks up against free to play players with tech tree tanks and low skilled players.

I started playing WoT in 2011 on the NA server. Took a break of 2 years in 2015 and then came back and played until 2020. For all it's in inequities I loved playing the game, but ultimately, the lack of improvements that should have been done never happened and the greed of the corporation made it clearer over time that they had no interest in what the players wanted. All we ever got was lip service and increased price gouging.
I was a top player with a 63% win percentage, and was planning to come back after a long hiatus. I had a tier 10 tank that I earned from hours of a mission, to which I had yet to claim, but when I came back, they said that they took out the tank and was not able to claim it. I put in a service request to see if I could get it, as I had earned it, but they told me to go fly a kite. So I never played again. Probably for the best that they did that, but that's what you get when you are stingey.
Same for me, i got a 3 day prem account, and suddenly they banned me for 3 days because i accidentaly sunk my tank! That was the end for me and moved to warthunder. In warthunder they at least have the decent way of letting u try the prem tanks before buying them!
Your statement is a problem foe me as ive never had a -2 MM in my BZ. I never get -2 MM in any tank. +2 all the time, but i never get to seal club anything
Apart from all these Problems, which are also strikingly similar in WoT on Consoles(Powercreep, Fantasy Tanks, too many events, Map issues, balance issues ect) having Discord or Reddit replace the simplicity of the WoT Gaming Forums was a "Deathblow" for me...Such an Antisocial move in the End
Rng while aiming is the biggest downside for me 90% of my fully aimed shits just end up in a ground or completely miss the tank Even when i try to aim in the middle of a tank from its side it will somehow either miss or hit so low that it will only track the tank i was shioting
I've been around for about 13 years, just casually playing with about 51% winrate. I've spent a bit on the game - I got about 15 premiums, and most are still decent. The worst thing is that without premium consumable and 30% gold shells, the game is unplayable. Even on fully kited bounty equipment premium tanks, you are losing credits for just playing the game without credits consumable and premium account. It's too much for casual players, not to mention tier 10. Last time i logged, i lost 1 million credits in a single day playing t10 while being top 3 in every game with about 60% wins. I love the game, but i can't be bothered playing it regularly.
As an old player (since 2016) i think that the biggest problem in the World of Tanks is matchmaking. The idea of +-2 tier matchmaking in these times is completly without sense. As a player I think that i would like to wait longer in queue insted facing higher tier tanks than mine. Not to mention also 3 artillery and 4 light tanks per side...
Game deserves to live, WG just keeps digging the hole further. Game has good base and gameplay and all of that is ruined by things that was said in the video.
Many friends and I gave up because of this. But what's worse, there are moments when the game gets so involved in deciding where the shot will hit that it becomes disturbing... This ends up influencing the outcome of the match. I had moments of aiming in the middle and the shot going over way beyond giving a 100% error. Good ping and FPS. I sent a replay and got a ticket and said: It's not possible to play like that. Every 10 shots 8 go wrong, they respond: "We are sorry to inform you that some aspects of the game do not meet your expectations." So much so that there are videos out there of proplayers being angry about this. We already have our mistakes due to our decisions, we don't need the game deciding for us. Let's invest our time and money in another game.
this the game is pay to win for a long time. match maker takes paying players places them with skilled players to farm low skill players and players that dont pay money. game is a scam
Prior to the 1.0 update, most of the old WoT maps were able to push one line away, support the other line directly, and secure victory. In fact, as soon as one line was pushed, the defense of the other line was also affected quickly. Even if you were good at it, if the other line was breached, you would be attacked on the side and cause stress, while the more aggressive you played, the more you would be rewarded. As a result, aggressive play was able to generate a lot of "dog fighting" in order to secure and take advantage of each other first, which allowed us to have fun while hitting and fighting each other regardless of whether the winning or losing team won or not. But now? This is a rare occurrence of this pattern, and most of the two teams simply wait for someone to come in, and the majority of them simply cannot have any fun. At the time of the 1.0 update, when it was only focused on sniping due to the TD meta, it was concluded within Wargaming that the problem was the TDs, so it was popular to nerf the TDs recklessly. In order to prevent the TDs from checking multiple lines simultaneously from the rear, measures are taken to reduce the flexibility between the lines in the map design. In fact, the initial maps were overlapped with small branches of the battlefield, and the position of the tank destroyer was also able to check multiple lines in one place, but it can be seen that some of the larger maps that appeared later divide the battlefield and have a separate tank destroyer position for each line, or no point at all that can be supported from the rear. Contrary to what was intended, however, this reduction in flexibility resulted in the elimination of the line's bypass path. Additionally, it became impossible to quickly link and break down another line as the design of the difficult section, which narrowed the distance of engagement to prevent the TDs' sniping, created a bottleneck for heavy tanks. Therefore, most of the maps added after the 1.0 update are difficult for TDs to play, but in the end, teams that play aggressively from the heavies or mediums standpoint are high-risk. Aggressive play is so profitable that most players only play defensive if they are not quite skilled, and heavy tanks have added a large number of thick turret gloves that are advantageous for defensive play to deepen the phenomenon. This problem is due to the misconception that the cause of passive play in a time when wargaming was TD+SPG friendly was due to a strong specific disease, such as "TD+SPG". The fundamental game design problem was what made "passive players" benefit, so even if the TD was weakened, passive players would eventually repeat the same thing on a heavies or mediums. Passive TD players who were waiting for their opponents to be spotted first became passive heavy, or medium players waiting for their opponents to come out of the closet first, and as the line became more flexible, offensive play became more difficult to play.
I started WoT right after the Beta. It was great fun, no physics, premium ammo was costing gold and my is-3 has really great armor...quit in 2013, I returned a few weeks ago and I'm gonna quit again very soon...the MM is awful, everyone spamming premium ammo, it's pay to win, the battles are boring and a lot of players are very impolite....that's not fun anymore...
Yes, you are absolutely right. Those passive players... campers always camp, regardless of team composition or their own role. To this day, most players still only think it's the fault of specific vehicle types, including this UA-camr. Most maps have been reduced to either kill zones or non-kill zones. You're either running naked across open fields where anyone can kill you, or you're surrounded by cover where no one can intervene except those already inside. In each update, WG keeps blaming the issues on TDs and SPGs, which is fundamentally a wrong decision. Imposing limits on the number of certain vehicle types is an absurd decision among these changes. The problem has never been the team composition of 8 LTs and 7 SPGs. Rather, it's the map design that blocks the possibility of such gameplay. Now, all battles are dominated by the heavies with the hardest turrets, stuck in place, moving back and forth, waiting for someone's bad luck to get hit on a pixel-sized weak spot, leading to a snowball effect resulting in a 15:0 or 0:15 outcome.
I used to play this so much. I still return to it every now and then despite mostly switching to war thunder and it's honestly sad to see this decline. I remember all the fun I used to have, the excitement and thrill of finally getting my first tier 10, my first top gun, everything.
69.000 battles played in WOT, but in the past few months I have completely lost interest. I've ceased investing my money in that game and am now finding enjoyment in other games. After dealing with all the WG lies, such as putting 3 tanks on 1 crew, I am finished with it. It will now take me 2-3 years to reach my 70,000 battles because i play 10 matches in a month max...
I played daily since 2011 to ~2019, with later years having few games after work and I still am at 35k battles. That amount of battles is unfathomable to me :D
october 31, 2012. That when I made my wot account, after all these years, I too, feel that world of tanks is dying. I cant even keep up anymore with dogshit event after dogshit event. With so few maps, i feel like I have experienced all possible scenarios on all maps, no new experience, no new excitement. - Small maps - Fast tanks + they see everything - You join a game -> go to the same position you always go... - No new positions on maps (no ability to climb & explore) - Too many monatization - Too few tank balances - Always encoutering the same tanks - Tanks that can oneshot you - Tanks that are unpenable without gold - No communication with community - too many 3 MINUTE GAMES - Too many 0-15 games - Too many overpowered prem tanks - ... I can go on, I think its the comunity time to move on from this game and never look back...
nah you shouldnt look at this like that. I aggree with you that WG tries to make as much money as they can. But its not to late, WG also made some nice changes as an example rebalance of vehicles... The arty changes werent bad too, you dont see often 3 artys per side, its most of the time 1 or 2 which is okay. The matchmaking is f
i quit the game too, pay to win game overpowered real money tanks. they made the match maker purposfully place paying players in money tanks with skilled players up against free to play players.
They need to bring back Historic Tank Gameplay, revise maps for a more tactical approach (less Corridors) and more larger map open field play. Eliminate sighting tank outlines, disable incoming shot directions (go back to what it used to be). Eliminate immediate spotting mechanics by increasing radio communications times for tanks that are spotted. Premium tanks ugh............. big problem. Too much to say. Greed got them in this predicament and I don't think they can solve all these issues without coming out with a completely new game.
As someone who recently downloaded around WoT three months ago, is sad for me to hear. I never played it in the glory days like others, but it is still fun to me and it's sad it might be shut down.
Call of Duty WW2 D-Day Omaha beach and lootboxes with guns and skins on the background of destroyed tanks and troops after landing. Hope WG can beat EA in this 😂
Main WoT problem for me? Unbalanced teams, primarily in terms of players skills, secondarily in terms of tanks. That usually generates 15-3 or 3-15 5 mn battles, uninteresting wether you win or you loose. Among the 30 players/tanks retained for a game by the MM, it wouldn't be huge software developments to distribute players and tanks in both teams in order to approximately balance them...
Yeah. Getting 3 grill 15 on your team vs them getting double E3 on a corridor map. That shouldn't happen as now it puts your heavies at a disadvantage as the enemy gets two extra heavies
that's because the specifically designed their match maker to not be fair, its not random, it deliberately puts paying players together with skilled players up against free to play players. the more money you pay the better the match making you get.
but it would be unfair. You've learned well how to play? so now you have hard battles while total idiots can farm other tomatoes! you have to grind your tanks as long as total idiots because f-ck you!
That is exactly what p*sses me off most. I have played WOT right from the start and have seen this get worse, where you can see in those first few minutes which way the algorithm is taking the game. Four perfectly aimed shots in a row that go wide, and now I just give up as there IS no point in even trying.
I think you've given a pretty fair overview of the game. 'Fair' being the operative word. Just hearing you talk about a lot of negative things that i have been experiencing in the game, and in such a simple but comprehensive manner, relieves a lot of my fustrations. Thank you.
Honestly I will be incredibly disappointed if the game does end up shutting down, the amount of time and money I have committed is by far the most of any other game I have and do play. This is probably the only game I can play anytime without not having at least a little fun. Otherwise for other games I play them in like, periods of interest. Is there any saving it? Idk at this point, bolster the free to play aspect, advertise the game a lot more, offer incentives for signing up(better incentives such as rewards for battles played for ex. 5k gold for 2500 battles played etc) Stop with so many lootboxes, **Listen to the playerbase**, stop making these goofy unrealistic and unliked changes.
@@Bohdisattva326 yeah, but wot is going in the NA direction.... Players will leave, and at this rate, the very next year, match amking will be around 3-4 minutes long, with you palying againts the same 10 people....
@@patrikjankovics2113 At some point there won't be enough profit for Wargaming to keep WoT. They are making the replacement games for WoT now. At some point, Wargaming will switch focus to them and WoT will get nothing but more monitization. When the profit isn't enough, Wargaming will shut it down.
i play in asian server previously on the na server before splitting, have hundred friends, created 3 clans, and dominate global maps, playing until morning together, grinding together every day we had a gathering together, became fb friends, and they had an average of 20k+ battles in this game, and 2 months ago I tried to install this game again hoping for nostalgia, and it turned out none of my friends were playing anymore, I was happy at the same time sad, happy they can move on, and sad because it used to be a beautiful memory
The problem is that game makers think they know best, they don't listen to the players. Their business models are all the same, introduce paid content, then nurf removing any advantage. Time is also important why waste it on marginal gains and then get nurfed. Games like this could be great but will surcomb to groundbreaking and exciting titles in the future and from developers that work with their customer base not think they no better.
Spot on video, thanks! I've been playing since 2011 and for me the biggest issue is the matchmaker/balancing. These days the steamroll wins and losses are too frequent. I don't mind losing as long as I feel I have a fighting chance, but those matches are few and far between. I really like the game but I'm worried it will die sooner than later...
HUGE problems started when BZ 176 came into the game. It honestly destroyed tier 8 and it made we quit the game. It is by far one of the most expensive games to play if not THE MOST expensive and if you are not willing to pay other new tanks can destroy you and there is nothing you can do about this. I think they can not save this very much. Wargaming messed up and they know that is game will come to an end. They thought that selling OP tanks will make them a lot of money. Sure they did. But in the future? If players quit? How can u make money then ?
Defender was the 1st truly OP premium. Now you can get it free. It hasn't been nerfed, it is still better than non-premium tanks, but it is so bad vs newer tanks that WG give it away free.
WoT went from a game that required skill and knowledge to one requiring a large wallet. The golden era of WoT was before gold ammo became available to everyone. That is where things started going downhills.
Playing on and off for 14 years. Was called dead quite some times. What I don't get is: Playerbase wants more maps, more maps and yes, you guessed right, more maps. What do we get? Reskinned premiums, broken premiums and of course nerfs to tech tree tanks that were perfect for years.
im a pretty new player, not too good (53% wr) but the main thing i hate is the triangle designed maps, that are basically you push you lose. Thanks for your content, you really helped me to improve.
and i think tier 9-10 are well balanced tbh, most tanks excel at smth specific, but tier 8 is stupid, when i neex to grind fro credits i have extremely hard time even tho i have the better prems (somua sm and e75ts), when im competing against bourrasque and skoda 56 in every match
Thank you Kajzoo, someone saying it loudly and with sense. The game may not die now or next year, but it is slowly heading in that direction and it will only get worse. I recently stopped playing after many years and I won't go back until I see changes for the better (which I doubt). The game deserves its end, They will milk the players as much money as they can before it collapses.
Great vid thx. This game was rised by its community, those who played and those who saw the others playing this game. Thats why it worked, u shouldnt needed to invite players to play. They saw this and came by themselves. Killing its own reason to keep this game alive is led them to fall. I didnt played this game like 4 year....but as it seems i did lost nothing to miss it out. Watching the facts what they are loosing right now is clear....they lost the players and their trust. I begun to play this game in the early 2013 or around....
if i had to make a list what needs to be done first it would prbly look like this 1. Tank Balance - buff old tech tree tanks (why do we still have T8 tanks with under 200mm standard penetration) nerf Premiums (Bz 176, Skoda, Bourrasque, Progetto just to name the most prominent), stop neglecting collectors vehicles (Foch 155, fv215b, T62-A…) also dont balance tanks with the amount of ammunition 2. Map Balance - not just a few rocks and bushes but make the map fair for both sides (im looking at you mines), expand all 600m and 800m maps to 1000m and maybe even add more 1300m maps like oyster bay, also bring back some old maps 3. Fix the goddamn matchmaker - add soft caps and hard caps -> softcap 1 arty per side, hard cap 2 artys per side (rn its 2 softcap and 3 hardcap) add these caps for TDs and Light tanks as well Lights Softcap 2, hardcap 3 (maybe even 1 - 2, also only 1 ebr on each side) TDs softcap 3, hardcap 4 Tank matchup needs to be fixed (hulldown heavies against hulldown heavies, autoloader heavies against autoloader heavies, Spotting light against spotting lights, dmg lights against dmg lights etc) 4. monetization - lootboxes max 2 - 3 times a year, not every month (but make it worth the money -> boxes include gold, boosters unique crews or skins idk) still release new premiums but instead of making them better than the tech tree version in every aspect make them at max slightly better, but give them a different playstyle/different values -> type 57/type 63, obj 416/guard, udes 03 /strv 01 etc 5. reverse the recent clan changes 6. bring back older events that were actually fun (mörser karl, chaffee race, halloween events, t62a sports etc)
The only way this game could be saved is, through community servers, but writing the server code is too big of a task for a hobbyist, and wg never going to open source it. They never going to balance the game, because their only goal is to milk the whales now. The only chance is a code leak.
For the love of god, please no. I don't need the mm be destroyed even more and the game becoming even more unpredictable, where I lose battles now because I have a bunch of US players with like 300 ping on my team while the enemy team has EU players only.
I quitted 4 years ago after playing the game for around 3-4 years. The constant scaling of premium tanks being straight up better than tech tree tanks was the main frustration for me, and ofcourse the gold round spammers. Started playing WT, much better.
wt is too hard for me💀 but yes premium tanks should be balanced(i wouldnt get mad if they balanced my skoda t56) but gold ammo spam is not that big of a problem since everybody can accuire it
I fully agree with you, however this channel is the wrong place to rightfully point out the prem ammo spam abuse. Most of the people who watch Kajzoo thrive on the prem ammo usage. What they tend to forget you need premium time/tanks to afford said prem ammo spam or play loads of battles to afford one tier 10 battle if you play without prem. Its blatant pay-to-perform mechanics on WG's part. Id love the prem ammo defenders to point out other games where premium ammo is thing that can only BARELY be afforded by the free-to-play players where it doesnt give you out-right advantage.
@@unknown_player9498 its not that hard. You just need a buddy(experienced player) and you could find many ppl more than happy to help(just avoid german mains)

wait... they got rid of the forums?... like deleted all of them? wth?...... thats like 15 years of info to help new players...they are definately going to kill the game and claim bankruptcy. Honestly, they should just sell it... but probably no one out there wealthy enough to want to buy it...
Kajzoo, fantastic, well thought out presentation! I’ve been playing 10+ years on NA and the game is painful today. The game has devolved into a state where maybe 2/3 of randoms are over in 4 or 5 minutes. I almost completely stopped spending money on the game. Great suggestions, they should listen and implement
I started playing WoT in 2015 and quit in 2022, after that I moved on to War Thunder. I was a decent player, playing ranked, playing with premium account at all times and I purchased multiple premium vehicles. My problems with the game were: - poor game balancing. Many online games release patches every few weeks, fixing everything on a pretty quick basis. It's a pity there was no such model for WoT, with many tanks (especially old) staying underpowered due to the power creep seeing little to no changes. Also Wargaming's policy of not nerfing premium tanks is also a shot in the foot. - power creep. It felt that overtime more and more tanks were obsolete. I quit before the release of Bz-176, but I can't tell how the fuck something like this can make it to live servers, judging by watching people play it. Premiums were just one-upping each other to the point of madness, at increasing speed. - map balance. Players surely love 3 corridor maps! Hull down positions are cancer unfun and the increasing amount of hull-down tanks being added to fuel the hull-down meta was also cancer. Playing ranked around the time Kranvagn was buffed was a painful experience. - artillery. - EBR. Because the side wheel eating a Grille-15 round was infuriating. Don't get me wrong on this point, I think wheeled tanks actually added something new and refreshing to the game, the bullshit armour was the problem. - matchmaking. Because there is no mmr, the games are stomps. 15-2, 15-3, and so on. - speaking of matchmaking, +2 matchmaking should have been removed. Nobody likes being irrelevant when bottom tier. The "but it decreases queue times" argument is just bullshit. Who would rather get in a game nominally faster at the cost of playing against much stronger tanks? - gold ammo: I'd agree with it if it were to deal less damage in return for the higher pen. It was especially infuriating to play against, as I wasn't shooting premium at all (except for ranked, but then I asked myself: Is it really worth to win 1 game and end up bleeding over 100k credits?) Lastly, this isn't the game's flaw, but overtime I grew bored and more frustrated with how the gameplay was designed. Tanks having health pools just stopped working for me and I saw the game differently. How spotting worked also started to become stupid to me. There's not a single change they can implement that would make me come back. I grew out of the game and it has too many core problems for me to get back into.
gold shells being a requirement, and then making you bleed creds like crazy only punishes the newer players who don't have some crazy number like 10m+ creds to dump on gold ammo
+/- 2 should stay. I do enjoy the challenge, reward, variety, and being bottom tier is the only thing keeping bullshit like defender and bz in check plus drags some of them away.
Excellent video --- you touched on all of the major problems/topics. For me, the biggest problem that I have with the current version of the game is the poor matchmaking. Battles that end in less than 4 mins with final scores of 15-3 or 3-15 don't do anything but infuriate the player base. New maps would be a welcome addition, but I think improved MM should be the top priority! Thanks kajzoo for putting this content out!
Stopped buying my premium every month in 2018, have been grinding down my 100m+ credits since then. Stopped playing in late 2023 and while I still like to watch some creators play I've seen this monetization strategy way too many times to not be wasting any more time in such a game myself. I had lots of fun, 3marked almost every Tank I enjoyed playing yet I still have friends who are actively buying every new prem tank, all while I never bought a single one myself. For me WoT has been going downhill since before covid already and it's sad to see that playaers just now catch onto it, or just recently if anything. Things like map inbalance, poor matchmaking, tank imbalance and powercreep have been happening for so long and it was an eventually for it to come crashing down. I'd be surprised if WoT makes it 5 more years without shutting down.
I don't care about the monetization so long as there aren't broken tanks like bz 176 in the mix. The people who want to spend money are needed to keep the game alive. The things I complain about now are pretty much the same things I complain about for 10 years. I can play 6 months, the frustration builds up, I walk away, come back, wash, rinse repeat. Since the last big patch 2 months ago my win rate has dropped 6% from 55% to 49%. And this is high volume of games so it's not just a bad streak or something. It is so obvious that you are in the bad cycle of teams for the day and nothing you do can make your team win. The MM is horrible. I know there are lots of variables, but when you start and one team has 4 autoloaders and other team has none, super heavies vs non super heavies, etc. or one team has 1000+ HP advantage before even first shot, it's too obvious. Elc vs non elc, Manti vs. Sheridan, etc. these match ups are obviously broken. I know a unicum can have a bad game and a tomato can have a great game to mess up the calculation. But if you have 3 unicum on one team and none on the other, there is 0 chance. CVS and turbo has created more 15-0 stomps. There are games I don't take finger off W key from start to finish too often. Or I get one or two shots off and I am swarmed by 5 tanks. Why does it take so long to balance tanks. It's obvious which ones need it. These are simple lines of values that should be changed frequently. If one team loads up with Pilot, Pershing and T44 vs. Bourasque, Lis, etc. it's game over. The goal should be to make tanks hover around 50% win rate, if it's higher or lower there is a problem. RNG range is too high. I like RNG but 25% is crazy. Should be 10% Problem players who are toxic, bully players, etc. should be punished more often. I don't need new maps. Fix the ones they have. there is enough variety if all the maps were good. I have 3 banned and could easily ban another 3. Why do heavies spawn so far in Malinovka. It takes 2 minutes to reach windmill at which point you either get blasted by arty or your team doesn't support and you get rolled. So now heavies are playing snipers in the trees instead climbing. Just make them spawn closer to the top. So obvious. I think most of us get sucked into the grind - new lines, better guns, field mods, etc. I'm almost done with my tier 10s. Once I finish, I think I will stop playing as many games and will only play fun tanks or meme tanks otherwise it's just not worth it. Takes me 3 or 4 hours sometimes to finish tour duty mission because I need 1600xp which means not only do I need a win but I have to have a good game in it. And those days where there is win 3 games for daily mission, lol, sometimes it takes me 15 games. Sorry that's nuts. I'm not great player but I used to be 2500 wn8. Maybe 1 in 40 games I feel like I have influence, the rest of the games feel predetermined by the MM or an RNG roll. Oh well, been fun. Will stop spending money soon. But it doesn't matter. the whales, collectors, etc. keep it going.
ELC and Manticore are examples of camo getting too high that it starts to break the spotting systems and logic. They need to be nerfed and a rule made you can't get a tank above X% amount of camo.
Howdy, NA Comp player here. The NA comp scene was absolutely decimated by the Chieftain and 279 nerfs. While personally I think the changes were good even though it dented the reason to play comp as the new rewards being added were absolute garbage, somewhere around 30% or more of the players who used to play clan wars just immediately left the game. The nerf of those extremely exclusive and difficult to unlock tanks had the unintended consequence of giving many comp players the message of "just because you treat this game as a second job and pour your time and effort into getting the best vehicles doesn't mean we can't nerf what you worked so hard for because of the opinions of the masses." Wargaming seems to have a pattern of adding new tech tree tanks that spice up or overhaul the comp meta, just to nerf them a month later and send them back into irrelevance for comp players. The downside of that is almost every comp player is grinding the same tech trees, all the time. I don't know what will happen in the future, but for now we will be stuck playing Obj. 277s, 60TPs, and BZ-75s for the foreseeable future.
The biggest problem with this game for me is that this game is a casino, in a tank wrapper. Victor Kislyy's patent explicitly states that in order to keep the player interested, he needs to lose sometimes and win sometimes, and in certain situations (like buying a new tank), the balancer selects such a battle that the player can win it. The game does not try to find 2 roughly equal teams, one is initially going to lose, the second - to win. The famous streamer luck in this game is elevated to absurdity. I want a game where my skill will decide the outcome of the match, not some bs balancer algorithm.
@@mutolay how is it random if free to play players are majority of their matches placed with low skilled players up against skilled players and over powered pay to win tanks? the whole "random" part of battles has been a lie for a DECADE now
Dude, im watching Kajzoo playing and he is hitting pixel shots over and over. Yeah he missed a bunch but How is that even possible? I never ever ever hit pixels trying to play like him. Game is ridiculous.
With how the game is headed, probably gonna be extremely hard, or impossible to turn things around. For me, the WoT+ kinda sank the final nail in the coffin, seemed like a grasp at straws. Doing the missions for the clan resources that force you to play in a platoon was also a poor move. I just play for fun with friends, so I don't care what happens to the game, personally.
I was involved (for many years) in World of Tanks e-sport when it was still a thing. We were responsible for running all the leagues, Pro League included (or whatever it was called, can't remember), where all the best players were competing. I vaguely remember Kajzoo playing in GoHard. Since it never had much interest in the general public compared to other games, I made a document for Wargaming employees presenting steps/improvements that could change that, at least in my opinion. They claimed that they have everything planned out and while they appreciate my feedback, they know best what to do. Guess what. No more than a year later the WoT e-sport was shut down altogether. This video gives me flashbacks. Whatever their answer to this (if any) might be, nothing will change
This randomness helps the OP tanks they put out. Less randomness means more shots on target, more shots on target means less problems. You can counter the OP bullshit by strategy and tactics. But rng means your strategy can be entirely worthless because the little soviet in the server decided you must pay more money to stalin.
It just sucks that WG just ignores the constant calls for less RNG to pen/damage, no rework to premium shells, no changes to arty, the refusal to nerf OP premiums, the constant addition of high alpha tanks with no weak spots, the ridiculous duration between buffs/nerfs/reworks. It just sucks how much the game has stagnated
@@gamebler123456789123 that i can agree with, i just want WG to revert the changes back to before 0.9.18. hell even QB said that he would rather be one shot than perma stunned. revert the changes and limit to max 1 per team, problem solved

Games like counterstrike are still going strong after 20+ years of the same maps. Which is fine for most. The difference is that CS is a SKILL-based game. Where WOT is an RNG game where all your skills mean nothing when RNG dictates your shot dissappears or hits the one rock on the edge of the aiming circle. Wot had an event a few years ago where they mimimized the RNG by 90% and WOT became extremely enjoyable for 24 hours. If they want to safe the player base, bin the RNG. But like most developers they only thirst profits dollars and are looking to sell the game to the highest bidder asap.
you cant apply the same logic from a FPS game like CS to WoT of tanks. tanks are entirely dependent on Map design. light tanks are op on open big maps with bushes but are worthless in city small maps. RNG effects everyone the same so RNG isnt the problem. some matches it felt like it was rigged for me to lose and other matches opposite where it rigged for me to win.
RNG is fine, the problem is that there is no skillbased mm. Part of the reason as to why there are so many 2-15 / 15 - 2 games is that if the lack of skillbased mm. If one team has like only tomatoes and the other team is full of unicums, then the outcome of the battle is decided before the battle has even begun.
RNG is a problem, just not in the sense that most are looking at it. I don't have too much of an issue with the rng on hitting tanks when either is stationery or on the move. The rng I do have an issue with is on penetration and on damage. If a shell has 270mm of penetration then it should penetrate 270mm (of course after allowing for angling of armour and the like), the same as if a shell is supposed to do 390 damage on penetration, then it should do 390 each time it penetrates.
But that means from the flip side of the coin someone else is saying they had a fun session consistently winning 5-10 in a row because the MM is so wonderful. The game has huge problems to be sure but how does a company implement a match maker that takes into consideration all the criteria you want? With fewer than 10k players online on the NA server it won't happen; the online player base is far too small unless you want to sit in the queue for 10-15 minutes waiting for just the right mix to come about so you can play a
Hey kajzoo ,hey folks... It feels like you're telling this things straight out of my soul. I love the game ,really ... but I havn't played it for arround a month now. I hate every new upcoming event. There is no chance to play without any dumb events. And as a f2p player it gets worse and worse. I hope they'll find the emergency brake and start to care about the most important things. It just feels like they dont care and just want to milk the last penny out of everyone. WE are part of the problem. I know it was said a thousand times before... but: GUYS STOP PAYING! Why? Because they need to see that we are the comunity and we keep them alive. They have to respect our wishes.!
Yeah, it sure seems that WG is aiming to milk the players for as much money as still possible while putting the least possible amount of effort in. My personal counter is to milk as much fun out of the game as I still can while spending no money. And mentally prepare for a time after WoT.
if wot takes so much place in you'r life it might be an addiction bro

There were a lot of WoT content creators inducing new players to fast grind the game, on recent years. That meant that some of players reached the higher tiers without spending some time trying to learn the game mechanics, to at least "raise the bar" of the gameplay on higher tiers. I understand that people have two ways of playing a game: the competitive way and the "forfun" way. And the forfun way isn't really bad, but if you choose to play on a competitive tier (high tiers), this can bring some frustration for the "other players", as some are saying on other comments (the frustration of the 0x15, 1x15, 2x15 scores). I play the game since 2015. When the "recent" conflict erupt at the eastern Europe, the financial problems started on the russian area (NATO/USA bank/financial measures). The RU server is the biggest server for the game (as the game was developed on Minsk, Belarus), and then it forced WG to develop a solution, and the solution was to migrate some things to Cyprus. This "re-engineering" of the company had (and still having) effects, meaning little new content for the game, and as we know, any moving means spending money, so they need more money, and... you got the idea: milk it from the players as much as it can in "short period". I think that the game will still be on the market, with some high player numbers on at least RU and EU. Not sure on NA (I'm from Brazil, and we use some of their server, yet we have the South American server... slowly dying. It's based in Sao Paulo city). The main question is: where to move? This is a very specific niche of game. War Thunder isn't a viable alternative for most of WoT players. WG showed a new game, that is "kind of" based on WoT PC, named Project CW (CW standing for Cold War), that shows "some possibility" to grow. Other game developing companies didn't brought any game that can/could replace the niche that is World of Tanks. We're lacking that.
How to fix the game? Increase penetration of weak tanks, give weakspots to armored tanks, and open up all the maps so we can actually drive around and shoot stuff.
I have been playing this game since 2011 and spent ungodly amounts of money on it. It used to be very fun. The corridor maps that shorten the engagement distance, limit mobility, and turn every game into a cupola sniping match are frustrating to say the least. Out of all the games I play, this is the only one that makes me more and more frustrated as I play and am sure I will be uninstalling soon as it is not healthy. Why play this game with "Armor not hit" (its a tank, the entire thing is armor.) when warthunder exists in the form that it is? Why would I continue being sniped by arty for 800 dmg in a heavy and being stunned for 15 seconds? This isnt fun. It hasnt been fun in ahwile.
Wargaming has to fix this $hit matchmaker. It is not the problem of the tanks. The problem is that the teams are not balanced. One team is 3/4 full with red players and the team is 3/4 full with high skilled players.
Quit around 2014 as the pay to win gold ammo wasn't going away. Game is extremely grindy without premium account. Not sure how it is now tho. I might give it another try in 2024.
Oh it had competition, the problem was that all the competitors like armored warfare wanted to be like WoT, so all the shit that's wrong with WoT/WoWS infected those games. Because of that the tank/vehicle arcade scene became similar to that of cable companies. different name, same shit
Competition? I left WoT about a year ago and migrated to War Thunder. And I have had no regrets whatsoever. Yeah, WT grind is tough, but you can still do it FTP. For me it was never High Tier but just having fun and WT does that for me.
those who cared about tanks doing pew pew went to WT long time ago, so there was a competition. New players are just retarded ADHD zoomers, there are many even more fast-paced games, so they will just jump off the ship if the time comes. Those who stayed are just addicted by fianances/time spend. They will stay until the end.
ITS FINALLY HAPPENING, this greedy company that just steals money at this point without giving any effort of making the game actually interesting is finally going broke
its not going broke given the revenue stream is 10X its "Competetor" in WT. Nevermind all the stuff they get from outside the game itself, I have a local game shop every time a new WOT Tabletop series releases all of the new tanks are gone before i get a chance to check them out, usually have to wait for 2nd or 3rd resupply to get them. like when they can afford to keep a game with 300 players open even though it makes literally 0 money they have plenty of revenue to keep going. the question though is for how long?
Wargaming isn't so much going broke as not caring about the maintenance and survival of the game, as they think it is doomed. So Wargaming just wants to get as much money out of WoT before the player counts drop so low it shuts down servers and eventually the whole game. Be sure that Wargaming is designing the games to replace WoT now.
Agreed. I also believe that the revenue from 3th party mods or/and cheats to complete personal missions just got back into wargamings own pockets. If they Just deleted the mod-folder in-game years ago i might have been stil playing the game....
The NA-SA service has been dying for a long time, we had a peak of active players in 2015 close to 30K, today the maximum we see is close to 13K in two days a week. It's normal to receive news that another friend has abandoned the game. With the community disappearing, it is increasingly common to see toxic and impatient players. Being the worst environment for new players. It's sad to see the game I played since I was a teenager become so demotivating. I'm seriously thinking about stopping playing if nothing changes this year.😢
What do you think about all that has been said? Can the game be saved? How? 👀
When they consider players first before filling the pockets maybe they can save the game
those maps are really bad I think if WG made a map editor that players can make their own map or modify the ones already in the game players would upload it vote for the best map design and it would be chosen by the community personally I would enjoy making my own map and playing with the editor
i agree but many cc's believe the game is not as bad as it really is i think people need to wake up
no
wg ignoring playerbase for years, why would they change their mind?
The game is super frustrating and not fun at all
I wanted too play today, but after 3 big loses i just stopped. From the last 50 battles i won 5. Thank you wg. I not play anymore.
In Belgium. It's easy for us. Loot boxes are forbidden; It's gambling.
Which is great, but also showcases the biggest problem with lootboxes. The new tanks locked behind them. You guys need to wait a long time before having a chance to get a new premium, as they dont seem to be introduced in any other way than lootboxes

1:46 Haha, it is so funny because with the BZ176, Borasque and Skoda t56 in the game, Defender and Skorpion seem like completely balanced tanks. Little did we know back then that Defender was just a beginning.
I remember when I had a 65% W/R in my Defender. That's when I realized how utterly broken it was.
the promise that premium tanks are always weaker than tech-tree counter part turned out to be a joke, and a big slap to anyone who bought old-timer premium tanks which are almost useless nowadays.

Atleast WT is kinda holding up better than WoT
Even tho im still a mid tier player so Im very much unaware of top tier gameplay lol.
War thunder also has some major bullshit moments but not on the same level and frequency as wot.
If only more like you would speak out having worked inside the game
That was my feeling as well. 2015ish is when my playtime began to drastically lower. The early years were imperfect if anything but fun and going the right direction. The very best era was the "0.8.x" versions. Especially post "Great Arty Nerf" and when the dispersion sigma were tightened and made skill and weakpoint knowledge vastly more important than RNG.
After SerB quit WG starts to become garbage

But I just downloaded it yesterday.... 😭
When a company shuts down their customer complaint desk, it's over.
there also another reason why they shut down forums: a lot of the recent posters where exposing the pay to win match maker they had

For me the game was ruined years ago when they introduced gold ammo for real money, I've spent a lot of time to research tier X american tank destroyer just to get killed every game easily by someone that paid to have better ammo:)
There is literally no franchise nor product, that cannot be run into the ground by greedy, short-sighted suits with too much power.
I mean that is what is killing the game, surely?

a veteran here. played this game way back when the highest tier for SPGs was 8 and i recall somewhere the t30 was X, and the is4 was 9. all with the boxy looking graphics and limited variety of sounds. back then it was fun because everyone was equal, there wasnt another player in the game that had a certain tank that you could not have or an advantage over you. basically what ever that player has, you could get it with enough dedication and grind. everyone used standard ammo and standard equipment.
TLDR: today's wot, bond equipment outperforms standards. op vehicles are locked behind a steep paywall, loot box exclusive, and gold ammo is required to be competitive which automatically makes premium account a must have or bleed economy. all of which a new player has to combat if they wish to learn the game, really is just too much to stomach.
i quit wot definitively 3 years ago...
wot was wot the first years... after became only a game to make money.
All of the above and the "fixing" maps aspekt.
I also remember this time. That was different but good! But you also have to say that you don't make any money with such a game. If there are no special things you pay for, then there is no money around. Of course, you could have left the game like that, but you would have had to pay for the game itself. Still remember that debacle.
What was is it again about the Chrysler? Did they nerf it right after releasing or what?
It'd be their swansong vehicle before shutting down WOT permanently 🤬

you have to pay more money, pay more money and you will get more winning matches.
I have the same problem, only lost matches, fuck this game and WG

That shouldn't happen as now it puts your heavies at a disadvantage as the enemy gets two extra heavies
that's because the specifically designed their match maker to not be fair, its not random, it deliberately puts paying players together with skilled players up against free to play players. the more money you pay the better the match making you get.

im a pretty new player, not too good (53% wr) but the main thing i hate is the triangle designed maps, that are basically you push you lose. Thanks for your content, you really helped me to improve.
and i think tier 9-10 are well balanced tbh, most tanks excel at smth specific, but tier 8 is stupid, when i neex to grind fro credits i have extremely hard time even tho i have the better prems (somua sm and e75ts), when im competing against bourrasque and skoda 56 in every match
war thunder for u dont waste time there
Thank you Kajzoo, someone saying it loudly and with sense.
I begun to play this game in the early 2013 or around....
if i had to make a list what needs to be done first it would prbly look like this
1. Tank Balance - buff old tech tree tanks (why do we still have T8 tanks with under 200mm standard penetration) nerf Premiums (Bz 176, Skoda, Bourrasque, Progetto just to name the most prominent), stop neglecting collectors vehicles (Foch 155, fv215b, T62-A…)
also dont balance tanks with the amount of ammunition
2. Map Balance - not just a few rocks and bushes but make the map fair for both sides (im looking at you mines), expand all 600m and 800m maps to 1000m and maybe even add more 1300m maps like oyster bay, also bring back some old maps
3. Fix the goddamn matchmaker - add soft caps and hard caps ->
softcap 1 arty per side, hard cap 2 artys per side (rn its 2 softcap and 3 hardcap)
add these caps for TDs and Light tanks as well
Lights Softcap 2, hardcap 3 (maybe even 1 - 2, also only 1 ebr on each side)
TDs softcap 3, hardcap 4
Tank matchup needs to be fixed
(hulldown heavies against hulldown heavies, autoloader heavies against autoloader heavies, Spotting light against spotting lights, dmg lights against dmg lights etc)
4. monetization - lootboxes max 2 - 3 times a year, not every month (but make it worth the money -> boxes include gold, boosters unique crews or skins idk)
still release new premiums but instead of making them better than the tech tree version in every aspect make them at max slightly better, but give them a different playstyle/different values -> type 57/type 63, obj 416/guard, udes 03 /strv 01 etc
5. reverse the recent clan changes
6. bring back older events that were actually fun (mörser karl, chaffee race, halloween events, t62a sports etc)
Bingo
lost time writing cause wg doesnt care
Exactly !!!!
The only way this game could be saved is, through community servers, but writing the server code is too big of a task for a hobbyist, and wg never going to open source it. They never going to balance the game, because their only goal is to milk the whales now. The only chance is a code leak.
NERF PREMIUM ROUNDS
From the NA server here. Personally I can't wait to be rolled into the EU servers. I'll gladly trade some latency for a better game play experience.
Don't expect too much. 🥴
east coast I presume? From the west coast I'll never play on EU (Already have 80ms to NA)
Premium tank complaints i understand, but Gold ammo spam is literally just cope
wt is too hard for me💀 but yes premium tanks should be balanced(i wouldnt get mad if they balanced my skoda t56) but gold ammo spam is not that big of a problem since everybody can accuire it
I fully agree with you, however this channel is the wrong place to rightfully point out the prem ammo spam abuse.
@@unknown_player9498 yeah but to fire gold rounds in large quantities you NEED to have a premium account, which costs real money. Especially at tier X, even without firing any gold, at best you will break even credits-wise without a premium account.
wait... they got rid of the forums?... like deleted all of them? wth?...... thats like 15 years of info to help new players...they are definately going to kill the game and claim bankruptcy.
My problems with the game were:
- poor game balancing.
It was especially infuriating to play against, as I wasn't shooting premium at all (except for ranked, but then I asked myself: Is it really worth to win 1 game and end up bleeding over 100k credits?)
Lastly, this isn't the game's flaw, but overtime I grew bored and more frustrated with how the gameplay was designed.
Well said
+/- 2 should stay. I do enjoy the challenge, reward, variety, and being bottom tier is the only thing keeping bullshit like defender and bz in check plus drags some of them away.
Too bad Warthunder is also becoming really shit and the same as WoT with copy-paste premium vehicles and OP premiums.
@@interpl6089 I dont Buy premiums nut I still top 1-4 place
The ending soundtrack at the end of the video man
My nostalgic childhood ❤
Nice video commentary as always
I left when tank weak points got removed. Now you can see a view port, but it has the same armour as the steel plate next to it.
I'd be surprised if WoT makes it 5 more years without shutting down.
aye... for me the dying begins in 2016. i completly quit in 2018
I don't care about the monetization so long as there aren't broken tanks like bz 176 in the mix.
Should be 10%
Problem players who are toxic, bully players, etc. should be punished more often.
The nerf of those extremely exclusive and difficult to unlock tanks had the unintended consequence of giving many comp players the message of "just because you treat this game as a second job and pour your time and effort into getting the best vehicles doesn't mean we can't nerf what you worked so hard for because of the opinions of the masses."
Wargaming seems to have a pattern of adding new tech tree tanks that spice up or overhaul the comp meta, just to nerf them a month later and send them back into irrelevance for comp players.
I want a game where my skill will decide the outcome of the match, not some bs balancer algorithm.
precisely this the match maker pits paying players together with skilled players up against free to play players and low skill players
No, teams are random but one gets 10% boost.
@@Zoltan1251 he is skilled at the game that is how
With how the game is headed, probably gonna be extremely hard, or impossible to turn things around.
KAJZOO completely NAILED it!
Well done.
WoT starts dying in version 0.9.6 (10.02.2015), where was "reballanced" (nerfed) distribution of projectiles in the sight circle
this!
This randomness helps the OP tanks they put out. Less randomness means more shots on target, more shots on target means less problems. You can counter the OP bullshit by strategy and tactics.
But rng means your strategy can be entirely worthless because the little soviet in the server decided you must pay more money to stalin.
Damn! I remember this. I was no great player of WoT, but I painfully noticed my shooting got much worse.

RNG is bad, but what really different is that in wot money affect gameplay
you cant apply the same logic from a FPS game like CS to WoT of tanks. tanks are entirely dependent on Map design. light tanks are op on open big maps with bushes but are worthless in city small maps.
@@andyrew9794 RNG does not effect everyone the same when WG is floating a + or - to a whole team.
Just love getting into a match and realizing I can’t hurt anyone on the enemy team
Losing 5-10 in a row consistently because the MM was so fucked up. Complete tomatoes vs mainly unicums was the norm and games barely lasted 5 mins
But that means from the flip side of the coin someone else is saying they had a fun session consistently winning 5-10 in a row because the MM is so wonderful.
The game has huge problems to be sure but how does a company implement a match maker that takes into consideration all the criteria you want? With fewer than 10k players online on the NA server it won't happen; the online player base is far too small unless you want to sit in the queue for 10-15 minutes waiting for just the right mix to come about so you can play a
also notice how most of the winners in these fast matches are premium tanks up against free to play players, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
R E M O V E A R T Y
One team is 3/4 full with red players and the team is 3/4 full with high skilled players.
tbh there is nothing left to be fixed everything is irremidiatly broken, the only hope is a roll back to 2015
Quit around 2014 as the pay to win gold ammo wasn't going away.
Game is extremely grindy without premium account.
Not sure how it is now tho. I might give it another try in 2024.
Thats what happens when a game has no competition
Oh it had competition, the problem was that all the competitors like armored warfare wanted to be like WoT, so all the shit that's wrong with WoT/WoWS infected those games. Because of that the tank/vehicle arcade scene became similar to that of cable companies. different name, same shit
Competition? I left WoT about a year ago and migrated to War Thunder. And I have had no regrets whatsoever. Yeah, WT grind is tough, but you can still do it FTP. For me it was never High Tier but just having fun and WT does that for me.
@@StephenShiell War Thunder is so different game, World of Tanks doesnt really have similar competition
those who cared about tanks doing pew pew went to WT long time ago, so there was a competition. New players are just retarded ADHD zoomers, there are many even more fast-paced games, so they will just jump off the ship if the time comes. Those who stayed are just addicted by fianances/time spend. They will stay until the end.
are you high on copium bro War Thunder is the competition, its the better one and as wot is dying WT is growing even further
XDDDDDDDDDD
Wargaming isn't so much going broke as not caring about the maintenance and survival of the game, as they think it is doomed. So Wargaming just wants to get as much money out of WoT before the player counts drop so low it shuts down servers and eventually the whole game. Be sure that Wargaming is designing the games to replace WoT now.
Agreed. I also believe that the revenue from 3th party mods or/and cheats to complete personal missions just got back into wargamings own pockets. If they Just deleted the mod-folder in-game years ago i might have been stil playing the game....
@@TureboMcQeck what?
The NA-SA service has been dying for a long time, we had a peak of active players in 2015 close to 30K, today the maximum we see is close to 13K in two days a week. It's normal to receive news that another friend has abandoned the game. With the community disappearing, it is increasingly common to see toxic and impatient players. Being the worst environment for new players. It's sad to see the game I played since I was a teenager become so demotivating. I'm seriously thinking about stopping playing if nothing changes this year.😢
