I think the problem is the high dpm of many tanks, but the gold spam is the real problem. You do not need to take time to re-position or flank heavy tanks. Hit the 2 key and negate the armor of any tank basically. I think to fix it they need to increase the premium ammo price 5X. If you fire more than 4-6 rounds, there should be no way you can make money. As it is now, as you yourself are showing, is you can spam gold all battle long and normally make a profit. Without a huge increase in gold round prices, well, get used to the new gameplay. Only other option is to change all tanks to the reduced damage for more pen, but we know how that went over when WOT tried testing it. As far as match making, the skill of the players is far more important than the type of tanks. If one team has 3 blue players and the other has 1, the high skill team will win 90% of the time regardless of tank match-up.

A very simple fix that would have a noticable impact on the quality and duration of battles would be to tweak the MM to account for subclasses, for example assault TD only matched vs assault TD, and sniper medium vs sniper medium. That way you wouldnt have games where one team gets 2x grille and 2x fv while the other gets 2x minotauro and 2x E3. It wouldnt fix everything obviously, but it would be a good first step having more balance between armored tanks and glass cannons.
This idea is in my head about a year ago. Adding something to it is that some OP tanks should have "bad" MM. For example: BZ, Borat, Skoda T56, Even90 etc. Should have +2 only. Tier 9 premiums have -1+1MM. And even further, stock heavies in high tiers should have - 2 only. This could fix soo many inbalances in the game.
Problem is it would take ages to find games, games like league have more players and only 5 roles and sometimes it takes minutes to find games, but league games last around half hour unlike wot where it isnt even 5 minutes so it isnt a problem...
I agree thats a good idea but the MM would still manage to fuck up games, one thing needs to be considered, thats player skill. I constantly get hames where the enemy team is average of 5500 and up wtr and my team is like 4000.... The whole team.
it's crazy that a normal round that has 15 minutes of time takes 5 minutes. When the heavies can take such influential positions, be it by speed or by raw armor stat check the game becomes just a huge snowballing massacre
massive problem is that tank classes dont mean shit these days...xm57 is basically a heavy. And if one team gets 3x xm57 and one team gets 3 skorpion its already GG. Or 2 minotauro vs 2 grille...one team basically has 2 extra heavy tanks
I think WG needs to make significant design changes to maps. The corridors and small sizes of the maps gets more noticable and worse to play. Grand battle maps should be 15v15 map size, and WG needs to really invest in figuring out a solution for how most maps are corridors or only have 1 playable flank for half of the classes. When the map gets bigger the strategy becomes more important.
I have been saying this for years! 3 lane map design from CS:GO and COD don't belong in a 15v15 player game! Especially if WG isn't going to make the maps symmetrical across the lanes. This leads to clear advantages for one team over the other before the game even starts simply based on spawn. Couple that with the lack of flanking opportunities or vast no mans lands to try and flank and the result is a static map.
Supporting with an example - just got a 15-2 game where I finished with 0 damage in Tiger-Maus on Lakeville. I couldn't get in any battle due to the low speed of the tank. A platoon of 3 DZT rushed the city, wiped it and continued forward. I was a mere tourist sightseeing the wrecks of the enemy tanks...
i’m in the same boat here. i’m a 60% 3300 wn8 player, but this past week i’ve felt like a 100wn8 player. 9/10 games are steamroll 2-15 losses over within 3 min
I thought I was the only one to experience it. Recently I felt like I went back in time like 4 years when I was still a noob and even though I managed to get like 3,7k wn8 yesterday It's still with 40% wr. Such a joke this game is.
I was once in a game where I said "How am I supposed to 3 mark my t343 when I keep getting teams that cant even hold positions despite having the numerical advantage" And someone told me "3 marking doesnt depend on your teams performance it depends on your performance. So if you cant do it then its a skill issue" Which kinda sucks because its inherently true, but how are you supposed to get damage when you have no positions to deal damage? When your team cant do sht and just crumble instantly before you can do anything. I hate these 5-15 games its just so sad why cant we have a balance of players per team why does one have to be good and the other completely dogsht
For the holiday ops it's best to grind tech tree tanks and credits for me. I have been struggling with stock tanks over the years which always makes me cringe. With the boosters its a great time to do that. Im also 3.3k wn8 60wr player. same feelings
You're absolutely right. I've been playing tanks for 12 years, more or less successfully, but it doesn't matter. I'm 53 years old, I've been playing all my life, but when I started playing tanks, I finally found a game that I enjoy because of everything, primarily the pace of the game and of tactical solutions. But, unfortunately, it all comes down to faster, stronger and more powerful tanks, and it seems to me that they will lose a lot of players. I don't know how we ordinary players can change it, but I hope that the creators will see what they are doing wrong. I wish you a lot of luck and success in your future work, all the best
For those who don't enjoy the game but are still stuck in sunk cost fallacy, keep this in mind. You haven't invested anything in this game. The time and money you have spent in it is entirely gone, evaporated, your account is not an investment : it's a hobby. If the hobby stops being enjoyable : why would you continue ? Imagine you've been crafting a poop statue for the past 5 years and it's starting to become boring but you're not finished... it's a poop statue, it's worthless, nobody cares if you finish it or not. Same thing here. You can always come back later, FOMO is a lie, you won't miss anything if you don't have fun. Now back to work on my statue... 😉
Yeah , in the last 3 years i had maybe 1k battles . Been playin since 2011. They need to do some massive changes to the tank classes to slow the game down , like don't let heavies run around at 50kmh and removing the gold ammo so you actually have to aim , plus let the tanks have a damn weak spots , and other stuff you mentioned.
I loved most of the old maps and I love to see them come back . What is interesting for me is that all of this map was being remove because of the winrate of 1side was so much bigger than other side and with that being said we still see trash maps that I hate from day 1 since 2014 (like mines) have not even get banished.
The solution for me anyways is - To really not care anymore about WoT. I put a ticket on a guy who clearly cheated and they did nothing as far as I can tell. The guy has 21 battles in M26 Persh and his stats are as follows - 12 Pooles, 5 Radleys, 100% MoE rating, 8k average damage, and oddly over 200 sharpshooters. All I did was ask them to make it make sense to me. They told me they have checks in place and people can't cheat. Now I wait calmly for Steel Aces as it hits beta testing. Kajzoo you should hop on with Sofi and back this game as well. No arty, RNG is not as important, tanks fight in the eras they belong and it might have a map making ability. That is my excitement on tank games now. Hoping Steal Aces turns out to be great.
I think these rocket tank gimmicks should be not allowed in the first 1 min. Or 1 and a half minutes. Then you can use it but only to change positions.

i had some choice premiums i liked such as the strv s1, but no gold ammo or consumable spam. it's been several years now since my last login. there are so many times where playing tech tree tanks just felt unbearable and plenty of times where even in a premium tank i'd still feel borderline useless. part of it is probably a skill issue since i was never really any sort of top player by any means, just an average casual, but there was a clear cut off where i just stopped getting joy out of this game.
I really really hope that WG will finally listen to experienced players like kajzoo, the game has been in a very poor position for long years now, we love this game , we want to play this game, we want to spend our money on this game, but we miss the days when this game really shined, WG can fix this. They need to listen and they need to change things up.
You're correct. I cannot count the number of times I've heard eekaboo say "we do not want to make a que time simulator game". Also, it's been true a very very long time, most players never make it past tier 4.
I noticed that too, especially now that the MM is just really bad. First is the ELC EVEN thing, I already know that if it's an open map and we have some random Light and they have an ELC, it's pretty much a guaranteed loss. I used to be able to hold 3-4k damage per game consistently in tier IX but now I can barely break the 3k damage line. The games are just Idk, super weird and stupid. People get shot twice and they just full yolo you to get a shot or 2 off before they die etc. A lot and I mean A LOT of players with 46% winrate and 1k-3k battles etc. Game's a joke.. I played LESTA server and I'm not gonna lie, it's so much better.
I love battles that are big tug of war matches, doing 5k damage in a 10 minute brawl and blocking numerous amounts of damage is way more satisfying and engaging than doing 5k damage in a 15-0 steam roll
Two days ago I made the mistake of playing a lowtier match where the enemy team had a hetzer, two matildas, a B1, three Pz S35s etc, while my team only had lights and lightweight mediums. Nobody had the pen to deal with the enemy team.
actually only thing i like about this game is tactical matches where both team are playing on simlar level and you can actually do something istead of rushing or backing up, but man i feel like those kind of matches today are about 40% of matches in today`s wot
I don't play anymore due to feeling the way you do years ago. But my god when you showed the old maps it brought back all those memories from when I last truly enjoyed playing. If those maps came back and they cut out a few of the current ones I would consider playing again. As a light tank enjoyer I hated corridor maps too!
all these problems started like nine years ago with that huge graphics update... thats when the stun came in and when wot started nerfing premium tanks and when they added bond equipment. They removed the cool asian map at that time too. That s the time I quit playing. Kind of late too the party.
After all these years in World of Tanks, it has become really difficult to still play nice rounds. I miss the old feeling of playing. The problem is that they don't work on the problems but only make them worse

Being a scout main is COMPLETLY horrendus atm, 3 marked a bunch of different tier x scouts. Took a break for 1.5 year and just came back. Maps are horrendus and games ending in 4 mins is completly fucking insane. Maps are horrendus, and MM is Horrendus. My fucking god
The idea of removing rammer is great! Overall i think that lowering alpha damage on all tanks by at least 10% would help also with games being longer (excluding tanks with low alphas such as 230,240,250 alpha tanks on tier 8 etc.). Also I wouldnt mind gold rounds dealing less damage but of course the price of them would be lower logically.

I've being playing WoT since middle 2015. The game was really popular there, because the original gameplay was still there. Since then, we had: Artillery rebalance; HE ammunition rebalance (KV-2, ISU-152:directly affected, as examples); Second front campaign (Obj 279e); Remember the KV-2 and ISU-152 HE realance? No problem! Here's KV-2(R) and ISU-152K; Wheeled vehicles entered the chat; Remember the old king of autoloaders, the BC-25t? Here's a ton of other autoloaders, autoreloaders, double-barrelled tanks, rocket boosters, and so on and on. Long time players that worked hard to improve crew skills versus new players with lots of free skills to choose, and even being capable of receiving/buying a tier 9 vehicles. Knowing nothing about the game, and going right into high tier battles. Statfarmers saying "thank you" for the free HP, WG! The powercreep and the widespread selling mechanic are real. Is there a chance to save WoT? Not sure. The caca already reached the ventilator. Maybe launch a new game, learning from the mistakes done.
Low tier arty is the reason why i never touch low tier tanks, even though i love the variety of low tier. Whenever i want to grind a new tank line nowadays i just save up enough free exp to skip to tier 8 so i don't have to deal with low tier arty.
Yeah... i have to say that these holliday ops randoms have seriously given me a brain aneurysm, i dont even know whats happening and im not enjoying myself at all but im playing anyways since it's the best time to grind credits for other modes like onslaught, maneuvers etc. that i enjoy way more now. About maps i dont understand why and how they dont see the issues with corridor maps that people bring up day after day, for example mountain pass rework was horrible for everything but the tanks that have armor, lights are now obsolete, meds also suffer as soon as a player with a little brain is on a heavy on the opposite team. Also the lack of maps as you mentioned, why not just rework old maps to HD, like windstorm, sacred valley, hidden village etc. (i believe they were removed since it required too much time to rework to HD) instead of coming up with a new map once every 2 years that is most likely going to end up on my ban list since its somehow going to be worse than what we already have. Equipment wise, i was never fan of equipment 2.0, tanks are faster and more unstoppable than ever. Hardening allows you to play like an idiot going around corners and you wont even get tracked for doing it anymore. Same with turbo... and i dont even want to mention CVS, i think it shouldnt be mountable on EBRs or even mediums, i'd prefer if it didnt exist in the first place. Tank matching issue is also a very clear problem. On tomatogg website you can directly tell that any tier 10 td that has some armor, like v4, e3, minotauro etc. have way higher average performance than tds without armor since they can have a direct impact in majority of the maps, and for some reason an e3 can be matched against a grille 15, wonder what the outcome will be on a corridor map... I hope tank balance becomes more frequent, glad to see wg have done some changes to tanks like the bat recently, but i feel like changes like the m48 received are totally useless, i would like to see more significant changes take place, if tank ends up overperforming the stats could be tuned down. And i dont even want to think about stun, its the thing i hate about arty the most and ive always hated it, its not fun to not be able to play the game for the next 20 seconds after an arty misses me by 20 meters. Anyways, the vid really summarized how ive felt about the game already for the past 3-4 years at least. This was a lot of chatting jesus, sorry if you read all the way down here lol
Totally agree about the equipment stuff, especially the CVS (should be removed entirely) and the stun mechanic which is a MAJOR annoyance for 95 percent of the player base and a very minor gain for the other 5 percent, its just stupid all around
They should definitely add a new class, the heavy TD, maybe just put aline into symbol like we see in meds and heavys, that would fix MM and also make some Jaga-Snipers realize they should partake in the fight.
I've been playing WoT for the past 11 years and i really hate how fast the games are today. I dont enjoy heavies anymore since the game can be over before u get to it. But for me the problem with WoT ahs always been an unranked mm system. I think games would be so much better if people would play likely skilled players. In ranked battles u kinda feel this, and the games feels so much more fun imo, but i think random should be the same
One of the best ways to balance teams/the game in my opinion is to balance tanks into their sub-classes, like sniper TD's assault TD's ect. It'll stop the problem of one team basically having an extra HT over another and things like that.
I can't agree more. Usually, the Christmas event is my favorite WOT time of the year... until this year. Battles are brutally imbalanced. I'm so frustrated with the game right now I basically only log in to complete the daily missions and then I go touch grass.
Feeling absolutely the same, last week after spending money on those boxes, get those new tanks, wanna drive aroud like a boss, but just get f*cked completely every game. Stuns, autoloaders, whole enemy team yolo into one position and I died in the first minute. I think map designs , gold spam, match making , op premium tanks balancing, stun are those biggest problems nowadays, its just not enjoyable for anyone. Thank for making this video, love you kajzoo. Hope wg will take a serious look at the suggestions in the contents and make some changes ASAP.
imo the main problem is at least for me are the corridor maps, where I get quite a lot of battles where you just feel like because of all of these corridors you can really advance and just sit in a position until you get 15-0'ed or the enemies make a mistake which you advance of it
removing rammer is a hot take- I get it but disagree. I play super fast pace in 116F3 and Rino with team- usually fails when the enemy plays more aggressively. I would say slower tanks is better (but with reasonable weakspots). Polish TDs also don't help. Camping should be more difficult, and the medium meta should be rewarded with more opportunities to flank instead of making them brawl heavies (you're usually at a disadv). There are too many 50kph heavies with not that bad DPM- when you fight 277 in 140 you're down 300-500 hp, 170 alpha, armor, with only dpm advantage that is hard to use.
This started when the Scorpion was released. Whoregaming changed their priorities from building a phenomenal game with great mechanics and dynamics, to building as many pay to win mechanisms to exploit the customer base. What you are describing is why I quit 2 years ago, it really is nothing new
i think it also has something to do with the increasing in alpha damage of all these newer tanks. With higher alpha, tanks take less time to die, which will lead to faster rounds.
Yes. Gameplay now is awful (Holiday Ops 2025). Very frequent patches and changes to the tanks will mess up gameplay for everyone. Good tank suddenly becomes obsolete, then next time it's good again... I like more stability. But yeah, once a month patch could be OK. WITH prior announcement what are they going to change. Tactical aspect requires players to think. Which is not what most of the players are familiar with. Hence corridor maps - you're not required to think, go to the hull down position there and shoot the enemy.
Beautiful video Kajzoo, thank you for bringing this up, you really make things sounds simple. And i cannot agree more with you. The example with Bourras is so accurate. It happened to me so many times, Bourras came, i got clipped, and thanks to his high mobility, he just can escape me for 20 seconds, come back and finish me... It's so annoying. Lowering dpm by removing gun rammer was something i've been saying aswell would help solve the issue. Although auto loaders would propably need some further dpm nerf (thanks to gun rammer removal). Since they don't use gun rammer, this would be a unintentional buff to them, sort of. Great point about new players and arty. And of course good talk about maps.
I have 3 main issues with WoT that makes it quite unfun. 1. HP. Tanks just die too quickly now, and getting damage doesnt really feel that good anymore because of it. I love being in hectic brawls, or trading HP to get to a strong location or whatever, but you really can't anymore because if you want to take 1 or 2 shots you just lost all of your HP. Solution: Increase the general HP of tanks, like how Onslaught does it. 2. Matchmaker. Too many TDs, and I agree some tanks like the ELC or Manticore or BZ or XM need higher weight in the matchmaker. TDs should not be able to have so many tanks in each game, because the more TDs in the game the less you can actually move. 3. Maps. A lot of the games I play feel so bad to play, because a lot of the time you really don't have anything you can do. A lot of the game is just sitting on your ass waiting for the enemies to get impatient. Every map people go to all the hulldown spots that lock down any progression, or there are way too many TDs and sniper mediums camping in bushes that also make progressing on open maps a mess. It feels like there is so little leeway in what you can do. Solution here is difficult because the more variable routes for people to go, the less enjoyable sniper TDs will be (which is good imo but not everybody will agree. Could just lower the shell velocity on sniper tanks so that they cant just freely hit people as easily). 3.5 screw the stun mechanic.
+2 match making and underwhelming tech tree tanks makes grinding suck and makes the replayabitly of those tech tree tanks bad. I dont wanna spend money to be able to compete at 8's
How to fix World of Tanks in 10 steps (in my opinion): - remove the stun mechanic - elc even 90's can only matchmake against elc even 90's - Remove the ability to play the same tank in a platoon (Just because of broken platoons) - Add new maps or the old maps back, which require braincells - Give all tanks a bit more Hitpoints (so people don't die instantly) - Buff the Tech tree tanks to the same level of the premium tanks (You can't nerf premiums) - Use the rating system to balance players in rounds - REMOVE BOTS FROM THE GAME - Nerf the reload of the low tier arties (or damage) - Set a limit to gold ammunition, but make them cost a bit less
Wargaming devs going for a cash grab instead of fixing the game is not surprising anymore. A part of blame falls onto the player base for not giving a shit and spending more and more money on micro transactions.
I’ve seen it worse. Last nights match had two 72.01K tanks OBJ 260 and a 195 FV chieftain on the Enemy team. The FV was not an issue with my 60TP he didn’t know how to use his tank well so I fired all my shot into his lower plate same goes for the 260. The only problem I had was that the two 72.01k tanks surrounded me after I destroyed two reward tanks
in addition to all these problems, one of the problems is a lot of light tanks in the battle, on each side 3 or 4 light tanks, I think 1 or at most 2 is quite enough for the game, I'm glad that someone openly talks about these problems
Its nice to know that even the absolute best players of the game are sometimes lost in these battles. I am sometimes staring at my minimap wondering what the heck I am supposed to do, when there is nothing to do but just wait for the game to end and pray you get some little amount of damage out of it.

I think one thing that could solve a lot of the Problems, especially for new players, would be to lower the player count in a match. A 7 vs. 7 is way easier to predict, and mistakes aren't as punishing. Also, matches do not turn into a farmfest 3 minutes in as soon as on flank falls. Combined with what you mentioned, each tank gets a weight, matches would be fairly balanced. Obviously, you would only have +-1 Matchmaking otherwise, it wouldn't work. But with the smaller player count, it wouldn't take much longer to find matches. I don't think that they should outright remove 15 vs. 15, but implementing an alternative mode or having some of the matches be 7 vs. 7 or even 10 vs. 10 would help slow games down and have players get equal fights. I played triple IS7 platoon last night. We are pretty decent players but not unicums, and we didn't lose a single game all night, just yoloing the medium flank full speed every game. I don't remember a single game lasting 10 minutes
been that way for 3 years...if you are losing all your shots miss...if you are winning you don't have to aim...so many times i could be on a team up 13-2 playing an arty and as soon as the last enemy is spotted, you don't have to aim whatsoever with arty, just snap from 1000m away and bullseye almost every time...absolutely programmed to end games as fast as possible...

Solutions? Apply a weighting for tanks that under/over-perform HOWEVER this weighting applies to TIME at the start - so underperforming tanks start some (say up to 1-10) seconds before the main start and over-performing tanks start after the main start (say up to 1-10 seconds again).
I miss the old days were big maps were played slowly and you had to work for a victory and city maps were a lot of teamplay involved Now big maps is like "one team has an elc and the other has a blesk gg" and city is "power creep hulldown"
Broooo. Sacred valley was Sooooo good. And I was like a complete noob back when it was in the game but I remembered the map very well and that ability to just move around the whole map and just flank and surprise in so many ways was just such a great feature
3.7K WN8 player here. i have nothing to add nor withdraw from your points, the gun rammer removal would be a fantastic change due to the 4 min battle simulator simply is not enjoyable for anyone. i would prefer balance in the game than see the game dying slowly which is why i think that the policy of never nerfing t8 prems is fucking stupid. the rampant release of new content and the FOMO strategy was something we could never had dreamt of having in 2015 and before since it felt that they prioritized the player experience and the lasting of the game more than the profit margin. i understand ofc that a free to play game never makes it through without ingame purchases and good marketing, but the players who dont want to spend money on the game should not be punished as hard as they currently are getting. The unpredictable gameplay makes it so hard to play now, heavy tanks taking flanks NO ONE goes with heavies. The WHOLE team going one flank and leaving 3 sides of the map open.
I tried to come back to WOT 1year ago. I used to actively play in the 2013-2016 years and it’s just not the same, most battles are just too quick. Feels like a different game so I don’t really play it anymore.
This was the greatest video ever produced about World of Tanks. I couldn't agree more with everything that was said. Yesterday I played my first 4 games after 3 months (because if you don't play during Christmas time what are you even doing?), I won 3 15-3, 15-3, 15-5 and lost 1 15-2. This game once was enjoyable, now it has become almost stressing.
i have been grinding to get to 50% wr. started at 49.94 a week ago and have gone up to 49.99 and then back to 49.92 now…. the matchmaker has been BRUTAL!
Since Christmas time begins only 1/4 games I fought are not turbo ones. Before was 1/2. Bought Mauschen and 9/10 battles are turbo, 8/10 end being rushed by 4 opponents no matter position.
One thing for sure is removing +2 mm because a tier 7 heavy cant do nothing to an AE phase for example and because of this is very difficult at least for me to push tier X
Wish I could like this video 2 times, agree with everything you say. Old map review gave me so much nostalgia, it reminds me why I fell in love with this game in the first place. Its kinda shocking to realize how many maps were actually removed during the years... However, reskinned tanks are easier to sell than using engineers to work on maps and balancing that you cannot ask $$ for...
We need an old school version of WoT (before 1.0) for the people that enjoyed the old game more. Music, gun sounds, slower gameplay, no stunning arty, less op tanks, etc.
there's always going to be an inherent problem when a team is just only *slightly* better than the other team. the better team will win just even 1 engagement and creates a snowball effect where they can push on and take on other flanks/positions or taking more map control meaning that losing just 3 tanks on a flank doesn't mean just a 12v15, it now means a 12v15 with less map control and the scales are now heavily tipped against your team. my best example of this is ruinberg. imagine if the city fight is so equal and evenly matched but one team wins the field and starts swarming in. that's not a problem with premium ammo, or tanks being faster because these factors do nothing but exaggerate the issue but they are not the core cause. this will always be the case because thats just fundamentally how the game works. if we had slower tanks, no premium ammo, etc, instead of getting snowballed and losing in 5 minutes, you'll just lose in 7 minutes instead. you'll still lose 3-15, it doesn't make a difference. the only way to sort of stop this snowballing effect is do implement what frontline has, to create airstrikes and section off parts of the map but i could imagine that nobody wants that in the random queue.
absolutely agree with you, i dont even understand why WG removed so many good maps, they were phenomenal, like sacred valley, northwest, south coast, hidden village. its so boring now playing the game in 2024 and the same 6-7 maps rotating which are not even good. Give us back these maps!!
I think you are 100% right about the dissatisfaction with the game lately, and I like most if not all of your suggestions. Its further exasperated on the NA server because ppl have abandoned the Meta so they can farm harder in the few minutes you get for battle. For instance, if you go to brawl with the other heavies, but half of your heavies go to hunt meds, you get overrun and the game ends super fast, and you've gotten little to no damage and shot mostly gold only to get overrun. Its also very hard to play tech tree tanks anymore because they are in no way comparable to the newer prems. They need to nerf prems, but I can see why they think they cannot. I'd just offer gold compensation for anyone who no longer wants the prem if its nerfed. Also on your last point, the new crew skills and equipment have super powered artillery making them very fast at aiming and very accurate as well. They either need a nerf, or they need to further limit the number of arty per battle.
That is exactly what was happening for the past ten days since the start of the holiday ops, like for real, before this update I was able to engage in a battle a lot, but right now I do absolute jack because the mm is full of the new op tanks that I can't literally do anything to and it makes playing this game so infuriating to a point where I would alt f4 on a spot
I got burned out. It was always a p2w game, but it's even more so now. I'm not a bad player by any means, I unlocked 279e within a month after I decided I wanted that tank. So, ya know. The mm started s*cking hard somewhere along the road. They even gave free tier 9 to players who didn't even have tier 6 unlocked. And now there were suddenly total bots with tier 9 tanks going into battles who had no clue what they were doing. But tbf, I've seen players with 3 times more games than me and still have no idea what to do. They keep introducing tanks that are much literally insane. Makes the past released tanks almost obsolete. They allow anyone to buy high tier tanks, or pay their way through high tier tanks, including tier Xs, and then those guys ruin mms. The distribution of players and tanks in each team is also unfair most of the time, if not all the time.
another solution is to nerf 40% of tanks in the game, lets say there are 5 tiers like (ofcourse its just hypothetical, WG will never do this. However it makes sense cuz you have to undo years and years of damaging the game to truely fix it anyways) 1. garbage 2. below avg 3. playable 4. good/really good 5. epic/OP just nerf all tanks from 4/5. Seeing as sooooo many of those tanks are tier 8.5 or 8+ prems. Tanks that make tech tree vehicles completely irrelevant etc etc. However this would require WG to nerf prems. And maybeNerf equipment like hardening and turbo, add +1/-1 MM. Ofc instead of nerfing strong tier 8 prems, WG can just buff them a little bit and move them up to tier 9. Candidates: Bourrasque, elc even 90, Grom, XM57, Turtle, CS lis 52, obj 274, AAT60, Skoda T 56, BZ 176, Contradictious, Vipera, Obj 703, Skorpion, Su 130 PM, LT 432, progetto 64, Kpz o7 and more etc etc. If you really want to improve the game, keep in mind that its not just the OP tanks that are problematic but also the tanks are just that good that they outperform the rest. That would mean that even a tank like prog 64 would be toxic for WoT. Prems should be like KV-5, not dogsh*t but fun and playable. Edit: Apart from removing rammer, turbo should never be allowed to be on heavies. Removes the whole point of that class being a slow, tough brawling type of class. But then again, you might as well remove turbo outright. In other words, equipment 2.0 needs a rework. on another note, ofcourse most players would not be impatient with que times, at least if I had to guess. The only thing that makes makes people tilted is WG refusal to fix their own game. Delete arty as a class, delete EBRs like they did with WT auf E100. Stop designing corridor maps. Remove all those small pesky garbage maps from high tiers (Tundra, Ensk, Paris, maybe himmelsdorf; always steamrolls on himmels Imo). Stop designing foolproof tanks that only take 2 braincells to play like Minotauro, the new XM57 and DZT. You just get hulldown asap and farm. Done deal, easy. At least tanks like chech lights and Concept 5, altho too weak, require a brain and quite some patience. one last really important note: DONT FKING balance tech tree tanks UP to their prem counterparts. It means that WG would have to buff literally everything: more powercreep then ever. If tanks like bourrasque are too strong, they simply should not be in the game except for as a tier 9/10 light or medium tank maybe. If tech tree tanks need that much more buffing, well then there is certainly no fixing WoT. It will just make everything even worse. Its just my take, I love this game so much I could go on for ages but not today xD.
Yesterday I lead my tier 10 himmelsdorf damage with an LT432. I was 32% wins after 20+ games when my recents are 60%+. My teams all die in 30 seconds or camp in the corner and give all map control up.
What would be your solution to the problem?

I think the problem is the high dpm of many tanks, but the gold spam is the real problem. You do not need to take time to re-position or flank heavy tanks. Hit the 2 key and negate the armor of any tank basically. I think to fix it they need to increase the premium ammo price 5X. If you fire more than 4-6 rounds, there should be no way you can make money. As it is now, as you yourself are showing, is you can spam gold all battle long and normally make a profit. Without a huge increase in gold round prices, well, get used to the new gameplay. Only other option is to change all tanks to the reduced damage for more pen, but we know how that went over when WOT tried testing it. As far as match making, the skill of the players is far more important than the type of tanks. If one team has 3 blue players and the other has 1, the high skill team will win 90% of the time regardless of tank match-up.

A very simple fix that would have a noticable impact on the quality and duration of battles would be to tweak the MM to account for subclasses, for example assault TD only matched vs assault TD, and sniper medium vs sniper medium. That way you wouldnt have games where one team gets 2x grille and 2x fv while the other gets 2x minotauro and 2x E3. It wouldnt fix everything obviously, but it would be a good first step having more balance between armored tanks and glass cannons.
The creation of these subclasses was the actual first step. Seems like WG didn't really follow through.

This idea is in my head about a year ago. Adding something to it is that some OP tanks should have "bad" MM. For example:
BZ, Borat, Skoda T56, Even90 etc. Should have +2 only.
Tier 9 premiums have -1+1MM.
And even further, stock heavies in high tiers should have - 2 only.
This could fix soo many inbalances in the game.
Problem is it would take ages to find games, games like league have more players and only 5 roles and sometimes it takes minutes to find games, but league games last around half hour unlike wot where it isnt even 5 minutes so it isnt a problem...
I agree thats a good idea but the MM would still manage to fuck up games, one thing needs to be considered, thats player skill. I constantly get hames where the enemy team is average of 5500 and up wtr and my team is like 4000.... The whole team.

I think WG needs to make significant design changes to maps. The corridors and small sizes of the maps gets more noticable and worse to play. Grand battle maps should be 15v15 map size, and WG needs to really invest in figuring out a solution for how most maps are corridors or only have 1 playable flank for half of the classes. When the map gets bigger the strategy becomes more important.
I have been saying this for years! 3 lane map design from CS:GO and COD don't belong in a 15v15 player game! Especially if WG isn't going to make the maps symmetrical across the lanes. This leads to clear advantages for one team over the other before the game even starts simply based on spawn. Couple that with the lack of flanking opportunities or vast no mans lands to try and flank and the result is a static map.

A platoon of 3 DZT rushed the city, wiped it and continued forward. I was a mere tourist sightseeing the wrecks of the enemy tanks...
i’m in the same boat here. i’m a 60% 3300 wn8 player, but this past week i’ve felt like a 100wn8 player. 9/10 games are steamroll 2-15 losses over within 3 min

And someone told me "3 marking doesnt depend on your teams performance it depends on your performance. So if you cant do it then its a skill issue"

For the holiday ops it's best to grind tech tree tanks and credits for me. I have been struggling with stock tanks over the years which always makes me cringe. With the boosters its a great time to do that. Im also 3.3k wn8 60wr player. same feelings

I think wargaming may be aware of this. The most recent survey they did was about the reintroduction of old maps that will hopefully help this.
You're absolutely right. I've been playing tanks for 12 years, more or less successfully, but it doesn't matter. I'm 53 years old, I've been playing all my life, but when I started playing tanks, I finally found a game that I enjoy because of everything, primarily the pace of the game and of tactical solutions. But, unfortunately, it all comes down to faster, stronger and more powerful tanks, and it seems to me that they will lose a lot of players.
I don't know how we ordinary players can change it, but I hope that the creators will see what they are doing wrong. I wish you a lot of luck and success in your future work, all the best

For those who don't enjoy the game but are still stuck in sunk cost fallacy, keep this in mind. You haven't invested anything in this game. The time and money you have spent in it is entirely gone, evaporated, your account is not an investment : it's a hobby. If the hobby stops being enjoyable : why would you continue ? Imagine you've been crafting a poop statue for the past 5 years and it's starting to become boring but you're not finished... it's a poop statue, it's worthless, nobody cares if you finish it or not. Same thing here. You can always come back later, FOMO is a lie, you won't miss anything if you don't have fun.

Yeah , in the last 3 years i had maybe 1k battles . Been playin since 2011. They need to do some massive changes to the tank classes to slow the game down , like don't let heavies run around at 50kmh and removing the gold ammo so you actually have to aim , plus let the tanks have a damn weak spots , and other stuff you mentioned.
I loved most of the old maps and I love to see them come back . What is interesting for me is that all of this map was being remove because of the winrate of 1side was so much bigger than other side and with that being said we still see trash maps that I hate from day 1 since 2014 (like mines) have not even get banished.

The solution for me anyways is - To really not care anymore about WoT. I put a ticket on a guy who clearly cheated and they did nothing as far as I can tell. The guy has 21 battles in M26 Persh and his stats are as follows - 12 Pooles, 5 Radleys, 100% MoE rating, 8k average damage, and oddly over 200 sharpshooters. All I did was ask them to make it make sense to me. They told me they have checks in place and people can't cheat.
Now I wait calmly for Steel Aces as it hits beta testing. Kajzoo you should hop on with Sofi and back this game as well. No arty, RNG is not as important, tanks fight in the eras they belong and it might have a map making ability. That is my excitement on tank games now. Hoping Steal Aces turns out to be great.
I think these rocket tank gimmicks should be not allowed in the first 1 min. Or 1 and a half minutes. Then you can use it but only to change positions.

i had some choice premiums i liked such as the strv s1, but no gold ammo or consumable spam. it's been several years now since my last login. there are so many times where playing tech tree tanks just felt unbearable and plenty of times where even in a premium tank i'd still feel borderline useless. part of it is probably a skill issue since i was never really any sort of top player by any means, just an average casual, but there was a clear cut off where i just stopped getting joy out of this game.
I really really hope that WG will finally listen to experienced players like kajzoo, the game has been in a very poor position for long years now, we love this game , we want to play this game, we want to spend our money on this game, but we miss the days when this game really shined, WG can fix this. They need to listen and they need to change things up.
You're correct. I cannot count the number of times I've heard eekaboo say "we do not want to make a que time simulator game".
Also, it's been true a very very long time, most players never make it past tier 4.

I noticed that too, especially now that the MM is just really bad. First is the ELC EVEN thing, I already know that if it's an open map and we have some random Light and they have an ELC, it's pretty much a guaranteed loss. I used to be able to hold 3-4k damage per game consistently in tier IX but now I can barely break the 3k damage line. The games are just Idk, super weird and stupid. People get shot twice and they just full yolo you to get a shot or 2 off before they die etc. A lot and I mean A LOT of players with 46% winrate and 1k-3k battles etc. Game's a joke.. I played LESTA server and I'm not gonna lie, it's so much better.
I love battles that are big tug of war matches, doing 5k damage in a 10 minute brawl and blocking numerous amounts of damage is way more satisfying and engaging than doing 5k damage in a 15-0 steam roll
nerf speed, viewrange, CVS, reload, aimtime, intraclips. AKA things that will never happen.
Two days ago I made the mistake of playing a lowtier match where the enemy team had a hetzer, two matildas, a B1, three Pz S35s etc, while my team only had lights and lightweight mediums. Nobody had the pen to deal with the enemy team.
Seeing the old maps is so nostalgic. I had my most memorable games there. Now it's just corridor here and there. No options. Just static gameplay

actually only thing i like about this game is tactical matches where both team are playing on simlar level and you can actually do something istead of rushing or backing up, but man i feel like those kind of matches today are about 40% of matches in today`s wot

If those maps came back and they cut out a few of the current ones I would consider playing again. As a light tank enjoyer I hated corridor maps too!
all these problems started like nine years ago with that huge graphics update... thats when the stun came in and when wot started nerfing premium tanks and when they added bond equipment. They removed the cool asian map at that time too. That s the time I quit playing. Kind of late too the party.

Being a scout main is COMPLETLY horrendus atm, 3 marked a bunch of different tier x scouts. Took a break for 1.5 year and just came back. Maps are horrendus and games ending in 4 mins is completly fucking insane. Maps are horrendus, and MM is Horrendus. My fucking god

Last night I had three matches with the enemy team having a platoon of IS7s completely yoloing the medium tank side
not just the speed of the tanks it is the damage is crazy now.
The idea of removing rammer is great! Overall i think that lowering alpha damage on all tanks by at least 10% would help also with games being longer (excluding tanks with low alphas such as 230,240,250 alpha tanks on tier 8 etc.). Also I wouldnt mind gold rounds dealing less damage but of course the price of them would be lower logically.

The game was really popular there, because the original gameplay was still there.
Since then, we had:
Artillery rebalance;
HE ammunition rebalance (KV-2, ISU-152:directly affected, as examples);
Second front campaign (Obj 279e);
Remember the KV-2 and ISU-152 HE realance? No problem! Here's KV-2(R) and ISU-152K;
Wheeled vehicles entered the chat;
Remember the old king of autoloaders, the BC-25t? Here's a ton of other autoloaders, autoreloaders, double-barrelled tanks, rocket boosters, and so on and on.
Long time players that worked hard to improve crew skills versus new players with lots of free skills to choose, and even being capable of receiving/buying a tier 9 vehicles. Knowing nothing about the game, and going right into high tier battles. Statfarmers saying "thank you" for the free HP, WG!
The powercreep and the widespread selling mechanic are real.
Is there a chance to save WoT? Not sure. The caca already reached the ventilator.
Maybe launch a new game, learning from the mistakes done.
Low tier arty is the reason why i never touch low tier tanks, even though i love the variety of low tier. Whenever i want to grind a new tank line nowadays i just save up enough free exp to skip to tier 8 so i don't have to deal with low tier arty.
Yeah... i have to say that these holliday ops randoms have seriously given me a brain aneurysm, i dont even know whats happening and im not enjoying myself at all but im playing anyways since it's the best time to grind credits for other modes like onslaught, maneuvers etc. that i enjoy way more now.
About maps i dont understand why and how they dont see the issues with corridor maps that people bring up day after day, for example mountain pass rework was horrible for everything but the tanks that have armor, lights are now obsolete, meds also suffer as soon as a player with a little brain is on a heavy on the opposite team. Also the lack of maps as you mentioned, why not just rework old maps to HD, like windstorm, sacred valley, hidden village etc. (i believe they were removed since it required too much time to rework to HD) instead of coming up with a new map once every 2 years that is most likely going to end up on my ban list since its somehow going to be worse than what we already have.
Equipment wise, i was never fan of equipment 2.0, tanks are faster and more unstoppable than ever. Hardening allows you to play like an idiot going around corners and you wont even get tracked for doing it anymore. Same with turbo... and i dont even want to mention CVS, i think it shouldnt be mountable on EBRs or even mediums, i'd prefer if it didnt exist in the first place.
Tank matching issue is also a very clear problem. On tomatogg website you can directly tell that any tier 10 td that has some armor, like v4, e3, minotauro etc. have way higher average performance than tds without armor since they can have a direct impact in majority of the maps, and for some reason an e3 can be matched against a grille 15, wonder what the outcome will be on a corridor map...
I hope tank balance becomes more frequent, glad to see wg have done some changes to tanks like the bat recently, but i feel like changes like the m48 received are totally useless, i would like to see more significant changes take place, if tank ends up overperforming the stats could be tuned down.
And i dont even want to think about stun, its the thing i hate about arty the most and ive always hated it, its not fun to not be able to play the game for the next 20 seconds after an arty misses me by 20 meters.

Totally agree about the equipment stuff, especially the CVS (should be removed entirely) and the stun mechanic which is a MAJOR annoyance for 95 percent of the player base and a very minor gain for the other 5 percent, its just stupid all around
They should definitely add a new class, the heavy TD, maybe just put aline into symbol like we see in meds and heavys, that would fix MM and also make some Jaga-Snipers realize they should partake in the fight.
I've been playing WoT for the past 11 years and i really hate how fast the games are today. I dont enjoy heavies anymore since the game can be over before u get to it.
But for me the problem with WoT ahs always been an unranked mm system. I think games would be so much better if people would play likely skilled players. In ranked battles u kinda feel this, and the games feels so much more fun imo, but i think random should be the same

I just had a game where each team got 2 lights, my team had 2 of the new squall, the enemy had 2 ELCs. The game was over in under 5 minutes
One of the best ways to balance teams/the game in my opinion is to balance tanks into their sub-classes, like sniper TD's assault TD's ect. It'll stop the problem of one team basically having an extra HT over another and things like that.
I can't agree more. Usually, the Christmas event is my favorite WOT time of the year... until this year. Battles are brutally imbalanced. I'm so frustrated with the game right now I basically only log in to complete the daily missions and then I go touch grass.

Stuns, autoloaders, whole enemy team yolo into one position and I died in the first minute.
I think map designs , gold spam, match making , op premium tanks balancing, stun are those biggest problems nowadays, its just not enjoyable for anyone.

imo the main problem is at least for me are the corridor maps, where I get quite a lot of battles where you just feel like because of all of these corridors you can really advance and just sit in a position until you get 15-0'ed or the enemies make a mistake which you advance of it
removing rammer is a hot take- I get it but disagree. I play super fast pace in 116F3 and Rino with team- usually fails when the enemy plays more aggressively. I would say slower tanks is better (but with reasonable weakspots). Polish TDs also don't help. Camping should be more difficult, and the medium meta should be rewarded with more opportunities to flank instead of making them brawl heavies (you're usually at a disadv). There are too many 50kph heavies with not that bad DPM- when you fight 277 in 140 you're down 300-500 hp, 170 alpha, armor, with only dpm advantage that is hard to use.

This started when the Scorpion was released. Whoregaming changed their priorities from building a phenomenal game with great mechanics and dynamics, to building as many pay to win mechanisms to exploit the customer base. What you are describing is why I quit 2 years ago, it really is nothing new
i think it also has something to do with the increasing in alpha damage of all these newer tanks. With higher alpha, tanks take less time to die, which will lead to faster rounds.
Yes. Gameplay now is awful (Holiday Ops 2025).
Very frequent patches and changes to the tanks will mess up gameplay for everyone. Good tank suddenly becomes obsolete, then next time it's good again... I like more stability. But yeah, once a month patch could be OK. WITH prior announcement what are they going to change.
Tactical aspect requires players to think. Which is not what most of the players are familiar with. Hence corridor maps - you're not required to think, go to the hull down position there and shoot the enemy.

The example with Bourras is so accurate. It happened to me so many times, Bourras came, i got clipped, and thanks to his high mobility, he just can escape me for 20 seconds, come back and finish me... It's so annoying.
Lowering dpm by removing gun rammer was something i've been saying aswell would help solve the issue.
Although auto loaders would propably need some further dpm nerf (thanks to gun rammer removal). Since they don't use gun rammer, this would be a unintentional buff to them, sort of.

I have 3 main issues with WoT that makes it quite unfun.
1. HP. Tanks just die too quickly now, and getting damage doesnt really feel that good anymore because of it. I love being in hectic brawls, or trading HP to get to a strong location or whatever, but you really can't anymore because if you want to take 1 or 2 shots you just lost all of your HP.
Solution: Increase the general HP of tanks, like how Onslaught does it.
2. Matchmaker. Too many TDs, and I agree some tanks like the ELC or Manticore or BZ or XM need higher weight in the matchmaker. TDs should not be able to have so many tanks in each game, because the more TDs in the game the less you can actually move.
3. Maps. A lot of the games I play feel so bad to play, because a lot of the time you really don't have anything you can do. A lot of the game is just sitting on your ass waiting for the enemies to get impatient. Every map people go to all the hulldown spots that lock down any progression, or there are way too many TDs and sniper mediums camping in bushes that also make progressing on open maps a mess. It feels like there is so little leeway in what you can do.
Solution here is difficult because the more variable routes for people to go, the less enjoyable sniper TDs will be (which is good imo but not everybody will agree. Could just lower the shell velocity on sniper tanks so that they cant just freely hit people as easily).
3.5 screw the stun mechanic.

+2 match making and underwhelming tech tree tanks makes grinding suck and makes the replayabitly of those tech tree tanks bad. I dont wanna spend money to be able to compete at 8's
How to fix World of Tanks in 10 steps (in my opinion):
- remove the stun mechanic
- elc even 90's can only matchmake against elc even 90's
- Remove the ability to play the same tank in a platoon (Just because of broken platoons)
- Add new maps or the old maps back, which require braincells
- Give all tanks a bit more Hitpoints (so people don't die instantly)
- Buff the Tech tree tanks to the same level of the premium tanks (You can't nerf premiums)
- Use the rating system to balance players in rounds
- REMOVE BOTS FROM THE GAME
- Nerf the reload of the low tier arties (or damage)
- Set a limit to gold ammunition, but make them cost a bit less

Wargaming devs going for a cash grab instead of fixing the game is not surprising anymore. A part of blame falls onto the player base for not giving a shit and spending more and more money on micro transactions.
i wonder how different would be Tier 8 battles with tech tree tanks only, since most of the time there are 10/15 or more premium tanks in tier 8 mm
I’ve seen it worse. Last nights match had two 72.01K tanks OBJ 260 and a 195 FV chieftain on the
Enemy team. The FV was not an issue with my 60TP he didn’t know how to use his tank well so I fired all my shot into his lower plate same goes for the 260. The only problem I had was that the two 72.01k tanks surrounded me after I destroyed two reward tanks

in addition to all these problems, one of the problems is a lot of light tanks in the battle, on each side 3 or 4 light tanks, I think 1 or at most 2 is quite enough for the game, I'm glad that someone openly talks about these problems
Its nice to know that even the absolute best players of the game are sometimes lost in these battles. I am sometimes staring at my minimap wondering what the heck I am supposed to do, when there is nothing to do but just wait for the game to end and pray you get some little amount of damage out of it.
the problem with weighing tanks in mm is that you’ll get awful queue times. if you’ve ever played ebr late at night on the na server, imagine that but for every game
I think one thing that could solve a lot of the Problems, especially for new players, would be to lower the player count in a match. A 7 vs. 7 is way easier to predict, and mistakes aren't as punishing. Also, matches do not turn into a farmfest 3 minutes in as soon as on flank falls. Combined with what you mentioned, each tank gets a weight, matches would be fairly balanced.
Obviously, you would only have +-1 Matchmaking otherwise, it wouldn't work. But with the smaller player count, it wouldn't take much longer to find matches.
I don't think that they should outright remove 15 vs. 15, but implementing an alternative mode or having some of the matches be 7 vs. 7 or even 10 vs. 10 would help slow games down and have players get equal fights.

I played triple IS7 platoon last night. We are pretty decent players but not unicums, and we didn't lose a single game all night, just yoloing the medium flank full speed every game. I don't remember a single game lasting 10 minutes
been that way for 3 years...if you are losing all your shots miss...if you are winning you don't have to aim...so many times i could be on a team up 13-2 playing an arty and as soon as the last enemy is spotted, you don't have to aim whatsoever with arty, just snap from 1000m away and bullseye almost every time...absolutely programmed to end games as fast as possible...
Jogue Warthunder. Lá não tem RNG. Mas também não tem HP e exige muito mais atenção e estratégia que WOT. A maioria dos jogadores de WOT não duram muito tempo em uma partida de WT.
Solutions? Apply a weighting for tanks that under/over-perform HOWEVER this weighting applies to TIME at the start - so underperforming tanks start some (say up to 1-10) seconds before the main start and over-performing tanks start after the main start (say up to 1-10 seconds again).

I miss the old days were big maps were played slowly and you had to work for a victory and city maps were a lot of teamplay involved
Now big maps is like "one team has an elc and the other has a blesk gg" and city is "power creep hulldown"
Broooo. Sacred valley was Sooooo good. And I was like a complete noob back when it was in the game but I remembered the map very well and that ability to just move around the whole map and just flank and surprise in so many ways was just such a great feature
Boosting ontop of the hill behind spawn on sacred valley which only the at that time fast tanks could reach and just farming from above was fun af

3.7K WN8 player here. i have nothing to add nor withdraw from your points, the gun rammer removal would be a fantastic change due to the 4 min battle simulator simply is not enjoyable for anyone. i would prefer balance in the game than see the game dying slowly which is why i think that the policy of never nerfing t8 prems is fucking stupid. the rampant release of new content and the FOMO strategy was something we could never had dreamt of having in 2015 and before since it felt that they prioritized the player experience and the lasting of the game more than the profit margin. i understand ofc that a free to play game never makes it through without ingame purchases and good marketing, but the players who dont want to spend money on the game should not be punished as hard as they currently are getting. Kajzoo, great video as always and the content u put out is nothing else but the most informative and helpful there is. keep this up!
The unpredictable gameplay makes it so hard to play now, heavy tanks taking flanks NO ONE goes with heavies. The WHOLE team going one flank and leaving 3 sides of the map open.
Please WG take a look on this. I really miss the joy of old WT.

I tried to come back to WOT 1year ago. I used to actively play in the 2013-2016 years and it’s just not the same, most battles are just too quick. Feels like a different game so I don’t really play it anymore.
This was the greatest video ever produced about World of Tanks. I couldn't agree more with everything that was said.
Yesterday I played my first 4 games after 3 months (because if you don't play during Christmas time what are you even doing?), I won 3 15-3, 15-3, 15-5 and lost 1 15-2.
This game once was enjoyable, now it has become almost stressing.
Think we should just perma-ban all the good players.
i have been grinding to get to 50% wr. started at 49.94 a week ago and have gone up to 49.99 and then back to 49.92 now…. the matchmaker has been BRUTAL!
Since Christmas time begins only 1/4 games I fought are not turbo ones. Before was 1/2. Bought Mauschen and 9/10 battles are turbo, 8/10 end being rushed by 4 opponents no matter position.
One thing for sure is removing +2 mm because a tier 7 heavy cant do nothing to an AE phase for example and because of this is very difficult at least for me to push tier X
Wish I could like this video 2 times, agree with everything you say. Old map review gave me so much nostalgia, it reminds me why I fell in love with this game in the first place. Its kinda shocking to realize how many maps were actually removed during the years... However, reskinned tanks are easier to sell than using engineers to work on maps and balancing that you cannot ask $$ for...
We need an old school version of WoT (before 1.0) for the people that enjoyed the old game more. Music, gun sounds, slower gameplay, no stunning arty, less op tanks, etc.
there's always going to be an inherent problem when a team is just only *slightly* better than the other team. the better team will win just even 1 engagement and creates a snowball effect where they can push on and take on other flanks/positions or taking more map control meaning that losing just 3 tanks on a flank doesn't mean just a 12v15, it now means a 12v15 with less map control and the scales are now heavily tipped against your team.
my best example of this is ruinberg. imagine if the city fight is so equal and evenly matched but one team wins the field and starts swarming in. that's not a problem with premium ammo, or tanks being faster because these factors do nothing but exaggerate the issue but they are not the core cause.
this will always be the case because thats just fundamentally how the game works. if we had slower tanks, no premium ammo, etc, instead of getting snowballed and losing in 5 minutes, you'll just lose in 7 minutes instead. you'll still lose 3-15, it doesn't make a difference. the only way to sort of stop this snowballing effect is do implement what frontline has, to create airstrikes and section off parts of the map but i could imagine that nobody wants that in the random queue.
absolutely agree with you, i dont even understand why WG removed so many good maps, they were phenomenal, like sacred valley, northwest, south coast, hidden village. its so boring now playing the game in 2024 and the same 6-7 maps rotating which are not even good. Give us back these maps!!
I think you are 100% right about the dissatisfaction with the game lately, and I like most if not all of your suggestions. Its further exasperated on the NA server because ppl have abandoned the Meta so they can farm harder in the few minutes you get for battle. For instance, if you go to brawl with the other heavies, but half of your heavies go to hunt meds, you get overrun and the game ends super fast, and you've gotten little to no damage and shot mostly gold only to get overrun.
Its also very hard to play tech tree tanks anymore because they are in no way comparable to the newer prems. They need to nerf prems, but I can see why they think they cannot. I'd just offer gold compensation for anyone who no longer wants the prem if its nerfed.
Also on your last point, the new crew skills and equipment have super powered artillery making them very fast at aiming and very accurate as well. They either need a nerf, or they need to further limit the number of arty per battle.
That is exactly what was happening for the past ten days since the start of the holiday ops, like for real, before this update I was able to engage in a battle a lot, but right now I do absolute jack because the mm is full of the new op tanks that I can't literally do anything to and it makes playing this game so infuriating to a point where I would alt f4 on a spot
I got burned out. It was always a p2w game, but it's even more so now.
I'm not a bad player by any means, I unlocked 279e within a month after I decided I wanted that tank. So, ya know.
The mm started s*cking hard somewhere along the road. They even gave free tier 9 to players who didn't even have tier 6 unlocked. And now there were suddenly total bots with tier 9 tanks going into battles who had no clue what they were doing. But tbf, I've seen players with 3 times more games than me and still have no idea what to do.
They keep introducing tanks that are much literally insane. Makes the past released tanks almost obsolete. They allow anyone to buy high tier tanks, or pay their way through high tier tanks, including tier Xs, and then those guys ruin mms.
The distribution of players and tanks in each team is also unfair most of the time, if not all the time.

another solution is to nerf 40% of tanks in the game, lets say there are 5 tiers like

just nerf all tanks from 4/5. Seeing as sooooo many of those tanks are tier 8.5 or 8+ prems. Tanks that make tech tree vehicles completely irrelevant etc etc. However this would require WG to nerf prems. And maybeNerf equipment like hardening and turbo, add +1/-1 MM.
Ofc instead of nerfing strong tier 8 prems, WG can just buff them a little bit and move them up to tier 9. Candidates:
Bourrasque, elc even 90, Grom, XM57, Turtle, CS lis 52, obj 274, AAT60, Skoda T 56, BZ 176, Contradictious, Vipera, Obj 703, Skorpion, Su 130 PM, LT 432, progetto 64, Kpz o7 and more etc etc.
If you really want to improve the game, keep in mind that its not just the OP tanks that are problematic but also the tanks are just that good that they outperform the rest. That would mean that even a tank like prog 64 would be toxic for WoT. Prems should be like KV-5, not dogsh*t but fun and playable.
Edit: Apart from removing rammer, turbo should never be allowed to be on heavies. Removes the whole point of that class being a slow, tough brawling type of class. But then again, you might as well remove turbo outright. In other words, equipment 2.0 needs a rework.
on another note, ofcourse most players would not be impatient with que times, at least if I had to guess. The only thing that makes makes people tilted is WG refusal to fix their own game. Delete arty as a class, delete EBRs like they did with WT auf E100. Stop designing corridor maps. Remove all those small pesky garbage maps from high tiers (Tundra, Ensk, Paris, maybe himmelsdorf; always steamrolls on himmels Imo).
Stop designing foolproof tanks that only take 2 braincells to play like Minotauro, the new XM57 and DZT. You just get hulldown asap and farm. Done deal, easy.
At least tanks like chech lights and Concept 5, altho too weak, require a brain and quite some patience.
one last really important note: DONT FKING balance tech tree tanks UP to their prem counterparts. It means that WG would have to buff literally everything: more powercreep then ever. If tanks like bourrasque are too strong, they simply should not be in the game except for as a tier 9/10 light or medium tank maybe. If tech tree tanks need that much more buffing, well then there is certainly no fixing WoT. It will just make everything even worse.
Its just my take, I love this game so much I could go on for ages but not today xD.
Yesterday I lead my tier 10 himmelsdorf damage with an LT432. I was 32% wins after 20+ games when my recents are 60%+. My teams all die in 30 seconds or camp in the corner and give all map control up.
GOD DAMN those maps take me back
Everything moves faster, alpha damage keeps increasing, tank roles keep blending.
