Fantastic gents thanks allot for the video.im immerating to france next year and want to do this mod on a disco2.thank you for giving us this great addition to the td5 engine
Hi there, Im having a bit of a problem i cant seem to be able to find my torque limiter on winols. Im using td5 map editor to find the picture or it and I’ve got that just having a job on winols. Cracking video tho 👍🏻
Hi mate, yes it can affect the top end range of the map so something to take into account, also to be honest I definitely don’t recommend a hardcut (popcorn) limiter on the td5. Cheers 👍
@@Damien666ish I don’t recommend it as it can damage your engine and turbo with prolonged use, also the fuel system isn’t designed for it and can take time to recover. As long as it’s used simply as a rev limiter it’s ok, but no good if your sat in a car park holding it on the limiter for some street cred 😂 🚗💨
I’ve tried doing it and it works fine except it doesn’t do it when in gear being driven. It works fine when the clutch is in or it’s in neutral. Any ideas?
Hi mate. If your reading and writing the same ECU and file (modded)with Kess then yes just let Kess do the checksum. Kess usually reads the ECU and the file is vin locked to that ECU alone so Kess will do the checksum correctly. Watch out for bad clones though 😂
@@CarJunkeez spot on thanks mate, I’ve used the kess once before so hopefully all good lol, do you have any map packs around to help identify some maps 🤪
most people will use a Nanocom. But there are many OBD flash readers that are compatible with TD5 like Galletto and many others, just check before you buy mate 👍
@@Adrijus_0 hi, yes you can read and write the map with MPPS, with the TD5 it usually saves a 512kb or 256kb file that’s vin locked to your ECU but you can still edit it but may have to do the checksum too within the editing software 👍
@@CarJunkeez I got exactly what you did. Then I saved the map in the map editor and it is exactly like that. But it still doesn't work. it's a normally map at 4750 round smoke full
Can any one help I have a disco 2 auto done a chip change guy said it had hardcut limiter put on it/popcorn can't seem to get it to work iv tried 2 chips now I don't no where I'm going wrong he said drive it and get to 4500 rpm. Should it do it in park and neutral aswell ?
Hi, shouldn’t really do it on an auto to be honest. But yes if in neutral it should hardcut when reaching the set hardcut limit, make sure you’ve modded the correct area as some files have 2 areas, one for high and one for low box. 👍
been playing around with it and my graphs and values are completely different from yours. 3 separate map files are giving the exact same values. I've tried a defender remap, disco remap and a standard defender map and they're all giving the same fuelling values and the same graph shape which looks nothing like a torque limiter graph. The RPM values that you can see in decimal view are completely different and don't resemble anything like the RMP values. Any ideas as to what it could be?
You are possibly selecting the wrong area in the hex file as there is other areas that resemble similarities but aren’t the correct areas, check the header for axis numbers to clarify when your selecting the map.
@@CarJunkeez I eventually found it. If i wanted it set at 4200/4250, would it be okay to keep 4000 the same, then change the following values to 4050, 4100, 4150, but keep the original fuelling values the same before getting the 4200?
@@CarJunkeez Also, how do you get that different sound? i know its something to do with the fuelling. will that come with increasing the fuelling or is there more to it?
Facinating.... I can't say I followed it mind you!.... But facinating nonetheless 👍🏻
Thanks mate 😁 👍👍

Thanks mate 👍 hope you have a good time in France 🇫🇷 thanks for your support 🙏😁👍
Hi, I'm trying to download this software but it doesn't work, the executable .exe is missing, could you share it? Thank you
Hi
Sorry but we had a flood here and lost all my computers with software on so no longer have it. 😔

Cheers mate, make sure you do the settings as per video 16bit hi/low settings as the maps won’t show up correctly in the window otherwise 👍
Ive literally just found it 🤦🏻 thank you for the good content mate 👍🏻 keep them coming 👌🏻
Happy days mate 👍 cheers
how do you get the black smoke under acceleration in remaps?
Add more fuel in the map where required and increase the torque limiter 🚗💨
Hey mate I’ve had my ECU remapped and just wondering if this will affect the remap at all?
Hi mate, yes it can affect the top end range of the map so something to take into account, also to be honest I definitely don’t recommend a hardcut (popcorn) limiter on the td5. Cheers 👍

You won’t notice it as much when driving as it’s difficult to stay at high rpm whilst driving.
Glad I started fiddling in maps with this modern software because that's confused the shit out of me 🤣
😂 hope your good bro 👍
Hi bud, I’m using winols 2.24 and kess v2, should I let kess v2 correct the checksum for me or do it with other software thanks

@@219dts sorry I don’t use winols so don’t have map packs, I actually do most my stuff with a hex editor and other software 👍

Hi, do you have a link to a working copy of the Td5 map editor, the original author has removed it and put a link to the source code.thanks
Hi, sorry I don’t think there’s such a link anymore but you may get somewhere on lrd2td5mapping. freeforums.org
Any on you boys can do a nice smokey map with hardcut in the southwest? 👌
Hi, sorry we’re in Manchester, drop me an email mastaz@live.co.uk 👍
Would you be up for having an ECU sent to you so you can work your magic? Don’t fancy diving in myself!
Cheers

do you possibly have a copy of the TD5 map editor you can share? it seems to have been taken down due to bugs, but it would be good for checksums
Sorry pal I don’t, I don’t use it and I think it’s no longer available.
I done that job mate but i have only smoke and nothing pop corn ... what 's wrong ?
Go over it again mate especially where the settings should be zero 👍 to be honest I don’t actually recommend doing it in the first place 😂

How do you change the rpm values in winols
Hi, once you have the map selected go to text view then you can select RPM values at the top and change as shown in the video. Thanks 👍

i have .map files and no Bin files. How can i do to modify RPM values? I have just TD5 map editor
The map file can be opened just the same as a bin file. But you won’t be able to just use just the TD5 map editor alone.
definitely worth the subscribe lol
