Don't let the political situation in Kenya deter you from carrying on with your lives..Kenya can hardly get out of hand like elsewhere in Africa..We don't have factions struggling for power & never had nor do we have demands for secession..It is only demonstrations to keep our government inchecks, that's it...
I'm a duo citizen both Kenyan & the US, I'm not in any way panicky of the current situation because I understand it pretty well.. The situation will definitely calm down, Kenyans cannot withstand long periods of political upheaval..
And also you need to count yourselves lucky for witnessing forehand how Africans act when we're displeased with our governments. Ooops! Kenya is much different from other African nations...People in Kenya are far more freer..It is a nation founded upon resistance all the way from the 1800s when colonizers set in to colonize us to the Mau Mau rebellion of the 1950s. God Bless Kenya 🇰🇪

Even those African countries that seem to be "peaceful" are not at peace. People ought to know that there are countries in Africa that cannot even criticize their governments, so they seem peaceful but with very unhappy citizens. The fact that Kenyans are rising up does not make it unstable. Kenya will come out stronger.

Times like this is when to say and contextualize the famous Kenyan mantra of HAKUNA MATATA! No worries! The country is in a renewal mode and the ongoings are the inevitable birth pangs that will soon fade away as we cherish the resultant product.
Unlike the falling superpower hanging on the brinks where things can only get worse, Kenya is on the upward trajectory for greatness. The elites will try to resist the inevitable coming change but they're outnumbered and outwitted.
Kenya and Africa is the only safe refuge and abode for our people.

There is no perfect place. One must find a place which works best for them which is good advice. I found two places that work really well for me. We can see how a place can be amazingly perfect one minute and chaos the next, there is no perfect place but the thing to do is just find a happy medium.
People are aware that we are in a transitional point in life as an individual and also collectively. We must see what that individual settling of karma is and settle it peacefully and keep it moving, so when the collective karma hits we will have that “peace within ourselves to handle the BIG transitional period, as you both shared very eloquently.
Keep the “Love Bubbling” that is what we will need at that “time”.
    Salaam❤

As far as America and the elections, I think we’ve lived through a lot already so what worse can go down? I’m not worried about it…we’ll coast right thru. Anything can happen in the divided states of America and we still here, been here…💪🏾

Kenyans are very political, they are fascinated and disappointed with politics at the same time. Our biggest drawback is that often it is tribally inclined but I feel like we are shedding the tribal sentiment from politics and holding our leaders accountable regardless of tribe. Politicians often use their tribes to rally support when they are cornered. But the so-called Gen Z protests seems to have turned the tide because it had no tribal connotations and politicians have been surprised by it. I think the President has rightly been jolted and to be fair to him he seems to have taken note and he's making changes on the whole governance issues, corruption etc. Kenyans are largely peaceful, patriotic and united save for political differences during elections time but we might have turned the corner if the latest protests are anything to go by. Rest easy, we will never allow our country to go to the dogs on account of politics, we love our country too much to allow such to happen.

Great conversation. The US election is concerning especially a possible Trump presidency and the recent Supreme Court rulings are concerning.
A very fascinating social movement arising in Kenya to hold the government accountable for campaign promises and governance. It will calm down as Ruto must clean up how he has been governing. We are witnessing history.

I am a Nigerian . What is happening in Kenya is nothing new . Uprisings have been happening in every African country since the 1950s/ 1960s when most African countries got independence . In Nigeria we had a civil war that resulted in the death of one million Igbos , followed by 5 military coups which took place up until 1993!!! There have been civil wars in Liberia , Sierra Leone, Sudan , Congo to name a few ! Civil wars , Military Coups, Genocides ,unrest, prejudicial killings have been the history of Africa since Independence . The advantage you have is you are Americans and when TSHTF the American government will send in the US marines to air lift you out of wherever you are!. Believe me no African government cares about its citizens to rescue them from anywhere !!! At the start of the Liberian civil war my friend who is Liberian /American was visiting family in Liberia and was airlifted with other American citizens out of that hellhole !! Only thing we get is political protests & a bit of clashes during elections..
We do not have any sort of pronounced societal divisions to the extent of triggering a civil war conflict nor calls for secession as in the Biafran war in Nigeria...All our problems are purely political, Kenyans demanding better governance & that's it. Otherwise, life goes on as normal...
