Nice to see another budget session. Went the other day but had 5-6 foot waves coming in now and again, had one cast and gave up due to the weed and pull.
I bought a cheap £20 Mackerel rod this summer "Fisheagle Saracen Mackerel Rod 11ft 1-3oz", first trip was just to test it, was a bit rough and blowing, used 2 ounce grip lead and a single paternoster rig, size 1/0 with small pieces of Mackerel. Casts really well even with 3 Ounce and rig
Had 6 Bull Huss, 1 Doggie and a small silver eel in 1 3/4 hours at Aberaeron South Beach, only casting 50-60 yards was a great session.
Every fish apart from eel hit bait 5-10 mins after cast. and I held rod all the time as only 11 foot and kept line out of the surf.
Have caught a few small Mackerel on it at Aberystwyth as well.
I usually fish with 14 foot continentals so made a change.

Thanks for commenting and what a fab session we hardly get bullhuss off the shore in Eastbourne
I have to admit fishing with the mackerel set up is really good fun
Lightweight and is much better than i thought it would be
Im gonna try keep at it to see if i can catch something half decent on it!

Nice video by the way can I ask you gave me that exact rod but when I fish in conditions that im guessing are similar to that since the waves in the video my rod always tips around so I never know when I got a fish on the rod

Have u got your rod on a tripod?
Try keep the rod high as possible when its rougher
If windy try casting into the direction of the wind uptide
The use of a light grip lead will also help hold the rig in place
And problems drop me a whats app anytime
