I love that…🤣
Spoiler!
Jocko changing his interview style to make Theo feel comfortable makes you realize how good of a leader jocko really is.
He's also just an incredibly good interviewer in general, especially for someone not typically "media-trained". Better than most of the clowns on TV these days.
@@frenchonion4595 definitely has
This is such a true comment, I thought the same thing
Agree 100 percent, I felt it too, Theo was honest, and Jocko bought him back in, instantly.
Great leader.

Jocko: “CGI or something?”

hahahaha Theo is one special ass dude.. haha
This is why I absolutely love Theo Von
He’s a national treasure
🤣🤣 this part got a real laugh
It was interesting watching Theo in this interview. A little awkward. Typically I could imagine Jocko goofing on a guy like him, could definitely feel that undercurrent, but he really got a lot out of Theo. A lot Theo bearing his soul and a lot of uncomfortable truths without the humor. Pretty cool.
Jocko: "What did your mom see in an older man like your father. Was he real suave or something?"
Theo: "He had a comb."
Jocko: “How did you handle that crushing sense of disappointment?”
Theo: “I was with this big ol’ thick girl.”
LMAO!!!
Hahajahahahahaja only fkn Theo could fire back with that 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He had a nice small comb
....I'm crying. hilarious
One thing I’ve always appreciated about Theo, no matter who’s podcast he’s on he always makes sure to involve everyone in the room
I noticed that on joes podcast. He kept turning to Jamie when talking and I thought it was really cool
He has to make sure that everyone is engaged and therefore he feels safe
This felt like therapy. And it was perfect.
Felt like the exact therapy I needed too.
Theo poured his heart out. What a hero
You feel it.
Like sitting down with his therapist
🙏 that’s why we love him.
@@oldmate99I truly thought this. I deeply respect Theo's willingness to come forth
"Hero" is a word too losely used. Commendable or admirable could fit there.
Theo is something like the special operations unit of comedy. He’s the best.
Drops in
Takes care of the mission - laughter
Disappears into the wind
It's organic unmanufactured comedy, like something that he developed early on in life that wasnt corrupted by money and fame.
Theo familiar in the unconventional arts

For a guy named Echo you surely don't talk much - Theo Von
One of the funniest anecdotes of all time.
LOLOLOL
I can't 😂😂
There's literally no one like Theo
For someone named echo, you don't even repeat much, he said.
He surely repeats thinking.
"Thanks for coming through with those dimes last night"
"Those were my wife and daughter"
"Well, I didn't call them nickels."
Fucking legend.
That’s hilarious 😂😂 when did he say that?
Theo Von dropping a MS-DOS joke casually. This guy has an incredible brain. One of a kind. Thanks Jocko and Theo. You guys are great together.
his knowledge of stuff is so wide that its surprises me he pulls them out randomly.
He has the insane ability to not give a fuck if anyone gets the reference. I wish I was as quick
I def agree. He plays up the small town uneducated persona, but I’ve always been able to tell that he’s very intelligent. He’s just got a funny personality that he can convey complex humor in an every day normal hilarious dude way. But he’s definitely not a dummy. I’d go as far to say that he’s on another level of intellect to be able to explain anything in a simple way which makes it hilarious.
This shows the humorous aspect of Jocko's personality. By far, Jocko's best non-military themed podcast.
58:13 jocko has such a fucking contagious laugh
@Twilight Coda Or, human being
Rat King baby!!!
Not gunna lie it's the 1st jocko podcast that is not military
But wait, there's more. Check out when Jocko was on Theo's podcast. You'll see more of Jocko's sense of humour.
Theo confusing Ramadi for basmati is hilarious
Define joke for me. XD
Cheers
Yo, so RAMADI IS A FAMOUS BATTLE that happened on 06 I believe. Jocko was apart of it. Now basmati is a type of rice so Theo mixed it up.
It was completely intentional
@@Sebastian-pb9hm I might not say completely
@@veugeler72 100 percent intentional. Theo's read extreme ownership and has had jocko on twice on his own podcast.
Jocko full belly laughing at Theos special failing nearly killed me lmao Theo sitting there like "yeah dude, I know"
30:16 "You can't think your way into right action but you can act your way into right thinking." Thank you for that Theo! Just the insight I needed this moment. I appreciate you man.
What does that sentence mean to you?
Don't think, just do lol
You can think and think, brooding and pondering, but you’ll keep on acting the same. But if you can change how you act, act the way you imagine you should, you’ll actually start to think the way you should be thinking.
Imagine telling Jocko Willink that it would be fun to watch him eat a Mango 😂😂😂
In a S-size shirt, gang
The fact that jocko laughed that off instead of making it uncomfortable shows how much jocko likes Theo, he brought him on knowing fully well that Theo would make an outrageous joke like that. It’s kinda like Theo’s way of testing if someone is trustworthy.
Watch Theo’s podcast where he had jocko on and it was totally different, jocko busts his balls a little at first until he gauges Theo’s style.
Knowing Theo a lot better in this interview, Jocko is aware that if he just takes a step back and gives Theo a platform. This shows how much humility Jocko has and how he can build someone up given that Theo has struggled with figuring himself out in the past.
I have to be honest, I'd watch that.
@@hamschh would he though?
Yes! Pls make Jocko consider releasing a muckbang video.
At 13:30 in this episode Jocko is called out to muckbang !!!
A Jocko muckbang will elevate that genre
Do it do it do it
Theo is a fucking wordsmith. He knows who he’s talking to and how to talk to them and when to put the right words in the right places. It’s an amazing art to watch and listen to.
Actually very typical of addicts.. people that are struggling with life learn to be great observers and negotiators, sometimes to the good, sometimes not. Savvy, maybe?
@@rpjswish maybe that’s a part of it. Maybe it’s part of his personality/character to be that observant and to be able to put his thoughts into words in a fluid and organic way. Maybe it has to do with how he was raised and the experiences he traversed then.

Jocko's first interview with theo was something special. For the first 20 minutes or so, Jocko seemed really standoffish, unnerved, almost like he wasn't sure if Theo was making fun of him in a way he didn't quite understand.
And then, a switch flips and he sees Theo for what he really is. Just a regular dude trying to make sense of the world through laughter. We need more of it.

Yes, how's Theo's podcast when Theo ask Jocko about the Hanoi Hilton. It's not like the real Hilton right ..... bless Theo s cotton socks. I've watched this about twenty times and I laugh for ten min afterwards every time🤣 interesting contrast of characters, great viewing.
Theo's nervousness in the beginning sorta splains why
The more I hear Theo talk about his mental struggles, the more I see myself in him. I can relate to feeling self conscious of having an older father and a dysfunctional family that’s very different from my peers’s family. I understand that unwelcomed feeling and never feeling like I’m enough no matter how much others reassure me I’m good. His vids on his YT channel has been therapeutic as I struggle to overcome the traumas of my past alongside Theo.
Love u bro
Jocko: "So it says here you're a pretty famous comedian. Is that a thing?"
Theo's self-awareness is a superpower that transcends towards everyone around him.
