Watching all the dead salmon in my creek. Amazing to know about their life cycle. I have been watching my creek for a couple years now. Very educational video
As a young Black man.I was assigned to the National Park Service, North Cascade National Park; Sedro Woolley, Washington 1979.There was a creek which ran beside the centre.I saw salmon which were running in November, they turning red not good to eat.Being from Bham,Al. This was interesting to I.Consister the salmon born in clear fresh clear, cold water waters.Flows to the ocean deep blue.Even in the deep blue he smells home and returns to where he was spawned.
I hope the Netherlands Germany France and Switzerland get their stuff together and make the Rhine suitable for Salmon again. First we need to create a way for them to enter the river with some kind of stairways, and a lot should be done in their spawning area which are often degraded and then we could let them loose, but probably a couple of courageous salmons will enter by mistake.
when we (the people logging) were logging and creating different types of cover, bedding and better nesting grounds. then the government tried cleaning out those things, which turned the rivers and estuaries into no good spawning grounds. now on the west coast there creating those same cover and bedding for the spawning grounds. if we could just leave well enough alone.....and get actual fish hatcheries back instead of the Atlantic salmon farms, we, or our kids grandkids might have something to do outdoors instead of always online...... but I have ne idea what I'm talking about. o wait, I use to live by and frequent one of the last fish hatcheries in n.w. California. I remember when the owner said they have to close, the government will be doing it from there on. we've seen what happens with that, we need our hatcheries back!
There is a life or death situation so, creating tense atmosphere with this music actually fits the content well. However, I admit it is more like Mass Effect video game soundtrack and in fact it has great similarities with them.
@@HasanGormus I have laid underwater for hours ( in snorkel gear) watching red salmon preparing nest site and mating. Along with bear eating the salmon and salmon bodies rotting away to supply nutrients to the river. Never have I heard a manmade soundtrack.
@@joeblack7660 Wow really nice experiencing such things in first hand! I understand your point, it is not a natural sound and I respect your opinion but I still believe it fits well for regular audience.
I understand your point. I am also conditioned to be prompted by the soundtrack. But the problem is that the soundtrack and video is taking the place of real life experiencing of the natural world. We are being conditioned to fear being alone and experiencing the silence of the unedited natural world .@@HasanGormus
@@joeblack7660 Well to be honest I was thinking like you but I didn't act accordingly and stayed home played games, watched movies and videos etc. I can tell after being part of these things, they become your new natural, a new virtual ecosystem with billions of people in it seems so normal. In fact that's the world today for most of us. So, you are really really right but, unfortunately you being right doesn't change anything at all. This new world order can not be reversed by anything but mother nature itself, she did that countless times, erased entire civilazations. Until such thing happens, no one can change anything because like narrator said, we are the most formiddable predators (even when the hunt is ourselves) BUT matter of fact, we are just predators, we do not posses the power of the nature. All these can seem irrelevant but actually it is not if you understand what I mean. Anyway this topic can become deeper in blink of an eye and I do not have wish to discuss it further online. :) Thanks so far for your kind answers.
Decent video but it omits several other key predators in salt and freshwaters, and other threats to the ecosystem which are common and have a severely adverse impact on wild Pacific salmon escapement.
she? not it? and what would happen if we protected those eggs? humans value salmon a lot as a food source no? and would salmon survive if we just transported them to the end of the river where they spawn and then returned them to the ocean? if just 2 survive of a pair of 2, they at best replace themselves but the population would only shrink, never grow :O
Man, salmon are some hardcore fish.

@@susanfaber2595 no, she encompassses all females. it would include both genders.
Why is her makeup so dark? This doesn't seem appropriate for the subject matter lol.

Just get to the point bro lol
bluewker she can look how she wants to look. Problem, bro?
So blatantly obvious when someone is only paying attention to someone's looks as opposed to what they're saying.
