years ago, in the mid 00s, i went to a car show and was talking to a guy with an NSX. It had all kinds of scratches and a few dents and the seats were tore a little. I asked him about it all and he said he drove it every single day (weather permitting) with his dog. He'd take it to get small groceries, to the beach, wherever. He said "cars are meant to be driven, that's literally their purpose." and i'll never forget that. Drive your car. Take care of your car, but drive it. It's literally their purpose.
"You'd have to get a beater for your beater because your beater is too nice" Absolutely killed me 🤣
I think you should respond to those people who say "Why are you driving this in the winter?" with "Would you rather I daily the E39 M5?" It'd be funny to see their reactions.
This is the equivalent of morning cartoon for us adults!
“I can’t believe you’re daily driving your Honda civic! What a monster!”
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the thought process of internet trolls telling someone not to daily their HONDA HATCHBACK in the winter just because it's performance oriented...
Also worth noting that a well maintained car will not rust out on you. Power wash under your car weekly during the winter to get the salt off and it will be fine. My Fk8 has seen 4 winters and there is very minimal signs of rust underneath. full send.
I daily my ND2 Miata in Boston and I could not have less regrets. I find it hilarious that people are treating Type Rs like they’re exotics when the whole point of a hot hatch is to be fast but practical.
I'm a firm believer in buying the car you want and enjoying it till the wheels fall off. I don't own a crazy car, just a 2020 Hyundai Sonata Limited. I drive about 100 miles per day for work, and I've had countless people tell me to buy a beater. And while yes, my front end is sandblasted with rock chips at 50k miles, I've enjoyed the crap out of my car. I figure if I'm getting that much seat time, I may as well enjoy it. It's currently JB4 tuned with an intake, BOV, and wheels. Might seem stupid to some, but I love my car and fully intend to keep enjoying it for years to come. I've never really thought to judge someone on how they use their cars.
Sup Tedward big fan have a good day 👍🏻
Car enthusiasts: "Owners who drive their cars are legends. Cars don't belong in museums!"
Life is short. Drive it. I daily a 2004 manual Saab 9-5 and it makes me so happy.
Perfect video for me right now hahaha. I was so unbelievably nervous to drive my new Miata in the rain for the first time today and when I got to work there was someone driving their Ferrari f8 in the parking lot. Definitely was a relief to see someone else just enjoying their fun car
100% agree. Any type of of Honda Civic should not be a garage queen unless its built for car shows or something. I've been daily driving my Type R since I own it with the exception of the first year when I was still on my OEM 20s or when snow has been too deep. Love the Type R content keep it coming.
This car has been a blast so far. I am 4,400 miles in since Christmas and am road tripping it from Ohio to Florida in a week.
Having just picked up my IS 500 as a "daily" (though I work from home, so it's more of an errand car), I definitely vibe with this. Everyone and their mother is telling me to "get PPF, get ceramic coat, wax your wheels, get all-weather mats" and the list goes on. While I plan to do some of those things, namely PPF, I also want to accept that it is gonna get messy. I plan to keep this thing for years and am under no delusions that it'll look the same at 50,000 miles as it did at 50 miles. Some people buy cars to keep them in the garage and eventually sell them, but I plan to enjoy mine. I like that you enjoy yours, too, even though it is an enviable car.
I’ve seen a few phoenix yellow fk8s in my area it makes me happy to see people actually driving a more rare version of the car.
Let's get a review of the rusty suburban.
this man is of the wisest in the car community. You, sir, have earned my respect.
I don't get people not liking daily driving the Honda Type R, its a Honda and a civic so its reliable and its a fun car. Cars are MEANT to be driven, drive the hell out of that Type R Tedward love your videos.
