    If this car existed last spring when I was shopping I would have bought one. Ended up in a TLX, which is great, but having cheaper running costs and a stick with the Si is tempting. I'm also going to give the Integra a hard look when it finally launches. Not a bad time to be an enthusiast.

    One of my favorite car reviewers.. my favorite of all the 22 si reviews. Driving skills are on point and it would be fun to run some canyons with you. That being said I ordered an orange one back in November , still no eta 3 months later.. It took over 5 dealerships to even order one for me, let alone with the specs and price I was willing to pay. Haha I would walk in waving cash in the air and they would all pretty much tell me to pound sand 🤣 .
    It is annoying that everyone states this as a car “under 28k” it’s not so that needs to be removed from people vocabulary.. Markup is just a reality of the times we’re living in and people are going to have to except that if they want this, or any other car for that matter.. I’m in California and some dealerships are asking a 8-10k markup which is insane for any new honda no matter the model. This is coming from a person who has owned a multitude of honda models ranging from 88 to 2017.. My advice is to have everything broken down on paper for what your willing to to spend.. Be aggressive and see through the markups vs added on expenses. I was able to Secure one with a 2,900 markup which is acceptable to me. Can’t wait

      The piped in engine noise is annoying and will be one of the first things I do when I get mine. Same as the 10th gen Si/Type R. Honda really should have just made a button or a menu toggle. You actually have to disconnect the module for that behind the glove box. Rev hang is because of CARB emissions laws. Aftermarket tune eliminates that as well.

    Good video! I went to a honda dealership looking for a crv on black Friday and saw this in blue. I asked the salesman if it's available and he said a guy ordered it and then last minute bought a touring. I jumped on it and got it for msrp! Coming from a 2016 camaro 2ss 6mt this car is still fun and I cant wait to autocross it. The front diff works great and on my 30mile highway commute it averages 41mpg! Can't beat it if u need 4 doors and good fuel economy.

    • @darrengarloff4205
      @darrengarloff4205 2 роки тому +1

      @@thethreatwrestling.7053 The car handles great, stiff suspension but not annoying. The rev-matching works great and shifts are short and smooth. The clutch pedal seems a bit long of a throw and I'm 6ft, and my knee sometimes is hitting the steering wheel which is as far back as it can go. For power, it seems like it could use more, maybe it just feels different to me being a turbo car. I had a 2013 civic Si sedan and compared them next to each other on the highway. They're both almost equal in power but the 2022 just slowly pulls ahead of the 2013. The stock all season tires are also not the greatest, but they are not terrible. All in, it's a great car, would highly recommend it! Just might need a slight tune to maybe 220hp.

      Coming from a service advisor at a Honda dealer, I don’t believe I’ve seen a 1.5T with 200k yet, much less 300k. Best so far was around 110k and it was rough. That being said, most people don’t actually take care of their 1.5Ts and that contributes to them failing. They’re not the Honda engines of old where you can abuse it endlessly and it keep going, they require maintenance. With proper maintenance, I could see one possibly reaching 200k, but it’d be a stretch.

    Im a huge fan of the Si models, what Im not a fan of is the dealership markup for these cars. It’s outrageous

    If we can get the Si with the same features that the Canadian spec has, I'd be more enticed to buy the car. Great review nonetheless

    Is the fake engine noise generated from the engine itself and modified within the module, or completely generated from the module?
    Thank you for the great videos!!!

    • @abdullaharif6455
      @abdullaharif6455 Рік тому

      I believe the module detects the engine RPM and makes its own synthesised sound which would depend on the RPM.

    Cool vid. I just said goodbye to my dear ole 04 Acura TSX 6 speed and I don't see many sedan options that compare to its size and driving fun but this looks like a great option and since they're both Honda products I'm sure I'd adapt easily to the SI. My only concern is the reliability of that small displacement turbo. Any idea on the data of its long-term performance? TIA.

    Makes me all the more excited to see the Integra.
    This with leather, fastback, and either adaptive or slightly softer ride mated to their ILX DCT? Perfection. Just hope not the TLX 10-auto.... and god please not the Civic CVT.

      Knowing acura they SHOULDNT put a CVT on it. Its confirmed it will come with a 6 speed manual. Maybe they will use the 8 speed DCT that was on the old ILX or a 10 speed who knows

    Since the fake noise is mostly in the sport setting, can you just use individual mode and select most of the presets from sport ? Would that eliminate the fake sound or at least make it sound like in normal mode but with full throttle response etc ?

    I love my new Honda Civic 22SI. But the fact that Honda puts so many more options in the Canada version is mind blowing to me. What's up with that. Just build the car with all the options and sell it the same in Canada in the USA.hello Honda!!!!!!!

    I want to like this car. I’m a little bummed out by the infotainment laggy start up and it’s slow reactivity. In my 18 accord with similar system (minus wireless CarPlay) it’s lighting fast comparatively. While a massive improvement over 10th gen, this just feels old when it’s slow to react.
    Lastly, Canada gets in this trim right and lower cost. What gives Honda?

    • @f181234
      @f181234 2 роки тому +1

      Everyone says it’s cheaper in Canada but it’s not. Once you add provincial Taxes which is around $4500 and Freight and PDI is $1800 its still more expensive than the US version. Even with the currency exchange

      The rear seats fold down, i can fit the wife dog surfboard and beach gear in this car it's amazing. I wish it had more power but i wish every car I've ever owned had more power.
      Only bad thing with this car is the potential engine failure with the infamous 1.5t. oil changes every 3-4k are mandatory if you want to keep it for 200k
