And if you play golf in Australia, a compression bandage is useful if you get bitten by a snake, and bug repellent (industrial strength) for the flies, mosquitoes etc. Or your opponent.
I’ve got all the items in my bag apart from my gloves in a ziplock bag. I’ll be doing that this year for sure. My market is a purple pinehurst marker and I put a purple dot and line on my ball because my daughters name Violet. Every time I look down at the line while putting it reminds me that even if I miss this putt I still have a cutie waiting on me when I get home.
Thanks James. Just went through my bag refreshing those things to start the new season. As a few others below have mentioned, aspirin, Advil, bandaids, chapstick, suntan lotion, etc. I tend to carry most of this in a separate diddy bag since I may change bags if just going to range and putting green for a few hours versus paying 18 holes versus playing in a 2 day tournament. Also, I keep a separate small duffle bag with winter and wet weather golf gloves, toboggan, hand warmers, etc. My season is from 35 degrees to 100 degrees. Keep up the good work! And don't forget the USGA (or R&A) rule book.
I have some of those items, I also carry suntan lotion (even though I'm in Scotland) hand gel, for when you've had to pee etc. Indigestion tablets are life savers. Bottles of water and fruit or choccy bars. Pencil. Woolly hat, water proofs, ball retriever, brush for cleaning grooves. I like the lip balm idea, thanks . Great vid getting me excited about playing golf :-)

Great tip on the ziplocks. I went and did that straight away after watching this! However, I always forget to put any bandaids/ bandages in the bag. A scenario came up recently where my playing partner needed to tape a finger but no one in our group had anything! Even after that AND watching your video... I still I don’t have what I need in the bag. Lol.
I live in Maryland, USA, its winter season now. Whenever I play, it gets cold outside I throw in couple of those tiny hand warmers in my bag. Just shake it to get it warm and put it in your shoes, pocket you be warm all day. Also, I keep small wet hand towel inside of a sandwich bag just in case if I need to wipe my face or hands when it gets dirty. Cheers mate! Love all of your videos! Chris.
I have all of your tips in my golf bag apart the range finder. As I live in Spain its a must to use sun cream, water and salted nuts. Thanks for the sandwich bag tip James for the gloves would never have thought of that.
I'd also suggest a warmup club, like an Orange Whip, to loosen up before playing. I'm in sunny Florida and the critical thing here is to not get heat stroke in the summer, so water and Gatorade (or equivalent) are essential to stay hydrated. Also, SPF 70 sunblock, a wet towel to put around your neck to stay cool and, just in case nature calls where there is no rest area, some toilet paper and a packet of wet wipes to clean up and make sure your grips aren't contaminated; I know this from experience. And, in hot weather, carry 2 bananas as a snack to replenish your potassium and also some magnesium tablets or gummies to prevent cramping which can be agonizing. I suppose that what you carry is somewhat dependent on where you live, and these are essential for summertime in Florida.
James I could hug you! I always have band-aids (plasters as you poms say) and elastoplast tape (sports tape) in the bag with a set of scissors as well, now in ten 18 years of carrying them (not the same one, I change them when I clean the bag out)and the amount of people that laugh at it. Now I have never used any...not once! But almost every second or third round one of the playing partners will pipe up “anyone got a band-aid or tape?” they are always happy to grab some and normally not laughing then ! 😁
Golf Towel…. (Wet & Dry preferably) an old damp flannel in a sandwich bag is great. Groove cleaning tool. Even the the good old nail brush from wilko’s is great. How many of us forgot the water bottle to put in the bag. And making up your own isotonic drink for those summer days is really easy and far cheaper than the pre-made ones from the shops. Rain gear (one type for winter) with a different cover for summer months, a hat with a brim that shades the ears for summer months (Texas), extra set of (new) gloves, rain gloves, winter gloves, sunscreen, wool cap, and of course the assortment you brought up.
Replacement batteries for my Bushnall….. I've been caught out twice now and each time didn't have my GPS watch either so now carry a couple of spare batteries in my bag. Also painkillers of your choice are a good idea IMO
I have a small, narrow brass brush. Makes quick work on the grooves on irons, shoe cleats or about anything else. Also, a small square of sandpaper, sunscreen, dry socks, some change, bottle of ibuprofen, sharpie, plasters, tape. Sounds like a lot but all small items fit in a sandwich bag.
Wet weathers, insect repellent, sun screen, spare wool jumper with gloves and beanie, 6 hours on a golf course in Melbourne Australia 4 seasons in one day.
Your comment about having something that’s special to rub in your bag helped me decide to go ahead and purchase custom bag makers for my grandsons. They are probably too young to keep up with them. But, I’m gonna try it.

I don't think I've ever seen a knife that dull in my life lol. I'd be more afraid of cutting myself on the knife than anything, so I carry a Swiss knife and scissors. I also carry mosquito repellant spray, sunscreen :)
One thing to consider instead of/or addition to plasters is a small tube of liquid bandaid i.e. superglue. Dries in seconds, great for small paper type cuts and popped blisters.
Hi really enjoy your vlogs as does my 12 year old son. My issue is the picture of the knife on the thumb nail for kids this is a bit misleading I understand you replace this for scissors during the vlog however not sure having the 🔪 in the thumbnail is a great idea. Thanks
Hey Dan, get your point but knifes do have every day uses as well as what is portrayed in the media. Using it to cut bandages etc. Sorry you feel that way but it’s hardly in a threatening position or been shown in a bad light. There also a lighter on there but I’m not telling anyone to go start a fire? Totally get your point and will consider things like this in the future. Cheers
Fair point James I wasn’t being a snowflake just be a little concerned if I found a knife in my boys golf bag. Again not a criticism just an observation we enjoy your work and look forward to the next vlogs 👍
Checked off all seven, but a quick tip. In he Summertime, keep that lip balm in a small plastic bag as well or you'll get melted wax over everything. A small Swiss Army knife comes in handier that scissors. Extra spikes and wrench. Spare cheap ball markers, someone always needs one. And of course, Vodka. It mixes with anything.
I will for at local beer store. Any certain brand you recommend. We have a Canadian beer called Grasshopper. Try it out if it's sold in England. Cheers, keep up the good videos so I can get through winter in Calgary.
You forgot several more very important things; 1-2 snacks to get your energy up, sun screen, rain gear, several aspirin (for headaches), several anti-diarrhea pills (just in case).
2 pairs of boxing gloves for disagreements with markers is a must!

Tp...sunscreen... light jacket... marker.. small screw driver clean grooves..spare change...ziploc bag... extra lighter
How perfect are they... Cheers James...
I will for at local beer store. Any certain brand you recommend. We have a Canadian beer called Grasshopper. Try it out if it's sold in England. Cheers, keep up the good videos so I can get through winter in Calgary.
Oooooo well my favourite is a real local one to here but if you try something like Timothy Taylor or even magic rock or black sheep 👍🏼⛳️🍺
Couldn't find at my local beer store. So got red stripe, great Jamaican beer
I carry a Swiss Army knife. Heat Patches and Paracetamol for aches and pains aswell as most of the items you mentioned.
Hi James what is your opinion low medium high handicappers can you give me some range
Depends on your swing speed - - you have to do this yourself, get on a launch monitor.
You forgot several more very important things; 1-2 snacks to get your energy up, sun screen, rain gear, several aspirin (for headaches), several anti-diarrhea pills (just in case).
You English with your funny terms (plasters) lol, like always keep up the great videos Bro!
Sorry dude! Bandage? Lol 😂🤙🏼⛳️
Idk but I'm from Canada and we call it plaster
You think we've got funny terms in England???..............pot, kettle and black come to mind, don't tell me you don't know what that means? 😁
Oh yes I do😃👍🤪
Plaster is what we build our houses out of👍😃😁
We take a swearing jar around with us, theres usually enough for a couple of beers after the round.
Couldn’t tell ya how many times I used my knife or someone borrowed it on the course.
