He looks like the type who would go ballistic if he were the owner of that facility and caught someone putting his assets into the back of their car. Attached is my comment on how I feel about that scum bag.
      Shame on you, shame on you. You are nothing but a common thief. You stealing golf balls period. How the hell would the owner know you will come back? Did you get permission from the owner to steal the assets he paid for? I guarantee there is not one sign displayed that tells customers that it's ok to take their balls home and bring them back to use the next time they come back. That way, no need to pay for another basket of balls when you come back. You are nothing but a common thief and as such should be prosecuted under the law. Your pathetic justification for stealing the owner's balls is bull Sh...t. and you know it. How would you feel if that was your business and you saw some idiot on UA-cam encouraging people to steal from you? If i owned that business and i saw your video stealing my assets I would call the police and prosecute you to the fullest of the law. Shame on you, shame on you. That poor owner has overheads, god knows how many thieves like you steel his balls and never come back? Guess who notices that his inventory of golf balls is depleting due to people like you telling others to take their balls home? The poor owner. 1. wear your golf shoes. 2. go to short game area first, if range has one. 3. have a practice plan . ie spend a lot of time in the bunker, if they have one, 4. practice putting have a plan for practicing pitting never use range balls for putting. USE YOUR REAL GOLF BALLS 5. tap putter on green every time you sink a putt. becomes positive reinforcement. 6. do not wear ear phones while practicing. 7. don't need largest size bucket 8. choose different spot on driving range every time 9. if possible, move mat towards target 10. look for free range balls 11. always work your wedges, wear it out. bonus: always clean your grooves. Secret: you might not view "borrowing range balls until next time" but the driving range does view it as stealing.

      Yes, get 5 of the next biggest size bucket because they are lighter to carry! 😀
      I used to live by a range where the tees were a long distance from the clubhouse where you got the range balls, so people would get several buckets at a time to minimize walking back and forth. I'd frequently see guys with 3 jumbo size buckets (around 150 balls or so) banging away as fast as they could.

    I pay $30/mo for a range pass at my course. It’s not nearly as nice as that place, but I like not concerning myself with the cost when I go practice. It also motivates me to not let it go to waste. Plus, when I go out to play, I can grab warmup bucket, hit a few and not be concerned, again, with the cost. Our green fees are also part of the membership. Small town life!

    Most public ranges have some portion of balls that are in crap condition (warn dimples, cuts, etc.). My tips: 1) Don't hit the crap balls as the flight can give you misleading information. 2) If you do hit the crap balls, use them on your shorter clubs where ball flight is shorter. Save the best balls for your longer clubs. If a ball is really trashed with big cuts, throw it in the trash on your way out. You'll be doing the range and future guests a favor.

    • @twostate7822
      @twostate7822 5 місяців тому +1

      My nearest ranges uses very limited flight golf balls so basically every ball you hit gives misleading information. They started out using regular range balls but there was a report that somebody got hit past the end of the range, so they almost immediately switched to the short flight balls. I don't have the time or patience to fight traffic for an hour to get to a range where they use regular range balls.

    I have been watching many years and always enjoy MSG. I liked seeing him at the Good-Good Cup, or at the Golf Shows, or whatever.
    Golf is not just technique it's also where your head is at, and MSG's is in the right place.
    Have a plan, have a good attitude, and practice. Putting. chipping, practice is key, not just 10 minutes prior to a round.
    I can't tell you how many times people say, "what time are you out," when I'm on the practice putting green.
    "It's a practice day," is my answer, sometimes.
    If you are time constrained an hour on the greens is worth more than a round of golf, especially for putting.
    Difficult if you don't have the time, but if you do it will really pay off.
    Also maintain equanimity of mind on the course. Don't get too high over good shots or too low over bad ones.

    Quoting "Master of your wedge domain"....
    Reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where they coined the term "Mater of my Domain". 😂
    Taking unhit range balls at the end of the day? I actually saw an old guy do that at the local range one day. He had about half a bucket left, and opened up the big pocket on his golf bag and poured the golf balls into his bag. He told a couple of friends that he'd be back the next day. 😵
    Expensive range. The muni golf range closest to me charges $15 for 100 balls, but you can load up a range card and get discounts the more you prepay. My effective cost is around $12 for 100 balls.
    The short game area looks great. I don't have anything close to that that's less than about an hour in traffic.

    That’s my home range. I love it, it’s 5 mins from home. It is pricey tho I will admit. I spent 2 hours in the bunker 5 times. That’s 10 hours practicing sand and this was after a playing lesson. I’m still not consistent with my bunker play. Needless to say I got another bunker lesson tomorrow. I’m stoked to be a student of the game! Arrrrg!

    Tip #13.. after working with specific clubs or whatever you hit with on the range.. save about 20 or so balls and at then visualize playing a couple of holes that you know/remember well.. setup.. pre shot your drive.. hit.. based on the flight/landing pretend you are there now for the next shot.. pre shot routine..hit etc.. play 2, 3, 4, etc holes. Range practice with specific clubs is fine… but remember that on the real course you’re not hitting your driver or 7 iron 10-15 times in a row…

    Another driving range secret is the Tour Pros get to hit fresh brand new premium balls, not those shitty worn out limited flight range balls. They hit their real balls on the range. ProV1s, Chrome Soft, TP5s, etc. That's why they fly so beautifully. That's a nice perk of being a tour pro.

I don't get where playing load music, smoking big cigars, and drinking until you can't hit the ball comes from. Just enjoy being outside and the golf course. Listen to your strike. You can get better just by relaxing a bit.

    I'll share a favorite putting drill: Stand at the hole or a tee in the green, take one step drop a ball. Step again drop a ball. Step, drop, step, drop. You now have four balls on a line at 1, 2, 3, and 4 steps out. Measure the distances or know your stride length. Address ball #1, out loud say "three feet" or "one step." Putt it for pace. Address ball #2, out loud "six feet" or "two steps." Putt for pace. Repeat down the line, and repeat in four (or better eight) radials from the hole.
    This does two things: 1) imprints a brain connection between the distance and the stroke strength and 2) gives you a measurement system you can quite literally take to the course. Just step it out.

    Hey Matt, there are a few things you forgot to mention. 1. Never go to a driving range that has mats. A golf course is grass and mats screw up your game because you have to swing differently because you can't hit down and take a divot on a mat. 2. Hole 5 bunker shots before moving on (learned that from Gary Player on a Playing Lessons from the Pros with Gary Player on the Golf Channel). 3. Hole 10 chips before moving on. 3. Get some friends and play horse in the chipping area and try to come up with ridiculously difficult shots for each other such as hitting flop shots over 30 foot trees, hitting shots through the "Y" in the branches of a well groomed tree, hit shots from a buried lie in the bunker where you can barely see the top of the ball. 4. Use your own balls for chipping and putting (very, very important) 5. The best thing I ever did is play in a Friday afternoon skins game with 10-12 of us in one group. Anything goes. You could talk, yell, scream, throw tees at the guy hitting, talk a little s*it. It totally desensitizes you to the external things around you. Now when I'm playing golf, someone will apologize for talking in my backswing. I tell them, don't worry about it, I didn't even notice. Those are 5 ways to get seriously focused and become a better golfer.

      Right down the road at Tecolote Canyon you can get a bucket of range balls a day for $45 a month. If you want to go to a top 10 driving range in the middle of a tourist city, you are gonna pay for it and if you want to play golf at a nice course, it is going to cost you $$ no matter where you go. Try getting a tee time at Augusta.

    - Stretch before you swing
    - Don't dump all the balls in the tray and hit, hit, hit. Just take 3 balls out of the bucket. After each 3 think about it then hit 3 more
    - Don't use the same club over and over. Mix it up. You don't hit the same club over and over at the course.

    • @Power5
      @Power5 5 місяців тому +2

      Never understood that last one. I am working on my swing. Working on the club path to stop over the top swings. In any sport practice until it is muscle memory. Why would I not be using the same club and making multiple swings in a row until I get that feel with the right flight? The point of the range is to practice. Whatever you need to practice should be the focus. Generalized rules do not make much sense to me.

  • @oliveradami199
    @oliveradami199 5 місяців тому

    I generally dedicate my practise session for one specific part of my game. Bunker practise coming up, 2 hours grinding on the beach. It's the only way to really engrain the muscle memory. Oh, and dang right about the music. In putting, I concentrate on pace. First, I go through my putting swing for 5 min, then just pace. I do the TW method, visualizing the roll of the ball thereby feeling the pace and then looking at the ball while still looking at the roll of the ball in my head. My body does the rest. No music, for sure.

    As someone that works at a driving range, unfortunately too many out there think as you joked. But it is theft. Our range allows you to put your name on a note any we will hold your in hit partial bucket behind the counter for up to a week so you can hit them later. If you are caught taking range balls and or baskets you will not only be asked to leave but also no longer welcome at our facility. The same goes for bringing another ranges balls to ours. Trust me we know who is doing it and have asked people to leave because of it. You are renting the balls to be hit on our range and also paying for use and upkeep of the facility, equipment and wages for staff.
