It's a shame people don't react to X Japan more. So many channels do all the latest Japanese metal bands, all the gimmicks, the all girl bands, etc, but rarely give the king of all Japanese bands a listen, even if requested. Most of them might give one or two songs a listen and then back to Baby Metal.
Thank you for this ! This song was made by the wild red haired guitarist Hide, who sadly passed in 1998 by accidental suicide. Being intoxicated while having a neckstretch, his funeral held the most attendees in Japan, post WW2. There were some copycat suicides (his death was deemed suicide at first) some even taking place at his funeral. Hide is even recognized today in all over the world, there is a new documentary releasing sometime this year. X Japan was one of the bands in Japan which lead to metal uprising in Japan even more than Loudness, there wouldnt be so many japanese metal bands today without X Japan, there is a document about X Japan called We Are X! which is (without my biased opinion of X Japan) the best music/band documentary i have seen. It is available in atleast Amazon Prime Video.
It's a shame that groups like this were, in general, never popular in the US due to lack of exposure. This group is metal plus! And talk about the big hair bands!!!
Always amazing, especially live.
I would love to have seen them.
