Yoshiki is an absolute monster. One of the best and most solid drummers in metal.

Yoshiki is a freaking beast on the drums, for the lack of a stronger word to describe it.
I never seen no one like him. Not talking specifically about technique, cause this can be discussed, but his intensity and passion are just unparalleled.
After more than 15 years following X-Japan it's still hard to believe that the same guy that delicately plays the piano is the one who beats the hell out of those drums.

Perfeita analise... E isso sem ilustrar todas as coisas e situações de superação que ja passou na vida

Epic live performances… And they have such strong meanings in their lyrics as well.

Yes, it’s the same singer. Yoshiki (drummer, piano) and Toshi (singer) created the band in 1980 or 1981. Taiji Sawada was the bassist in their first 3 albums and left in 1992, he was replaced since then by Heath.
And they do have a lot of long songs. Even many of their ballads are in the 7-12 minute range.

Thank you for covering this amazing band.
Yes, showcasing the instrument skill is just what they do every single track.
Because the drummer/pianist/leader composed every song by writing them down on music scores.
Every instrument is fully planned out and get their own score sheet
    Extraordinary musician.
And I really like that you describe this song as relentless 😂 indeed

Finally someone react to Dahlia! The vocal has always been Toshi, he had a husky/ rasp voice earlier in his career and developed into a more crystal clear kind of voice. He put his spiky hair down in 93 I think. Someone mentioned the song Blue Blood from 93 in the comment below and I think that is a good one to react to. Nice reaction man!

Thanks for your reaction! Dahlia is always worth reacting to - full of energy and experimenting with sounds. Yes, the lead singer was always the same but that doesn't mean that he was there all the time. This performance was the last live concert after Toshl had decided to leave the band due to very dramatic circumstances. Therefore all band members got very emotional during the concert (let alone the audience). I can't watch it without crying - just like the award-winning documentary "We are X". Unfortunately Toshl's book "Brainwashed - my comeback from 12 years of hell" is available only in Japanese, as far as I know. Exceptional band with an exceptional story - I hope they will resume performing when the pandemic is over!

There is a video on UA-cam explaining the line up changes before the first recording and the line up of Yoshiki, Toshi, Taiji, Hide and Pata. I think it showed they went through something like 3 bassists and 6 guitarists coming and going before settling.

Thanks for doing more X japan reactions ... In answer to your question re the lineup, The only real changes were replacing members that passed on.Toshi (vocals) and Yoshiki (drums/ Piano) started the band Pata (guitar) Taiji (bass) and Hide (guitar) were original memers. This song was written by Hide - the guitarist with pink hair who passed away and was replaced by Sugizo who also plays violin. Taiji was fired by Yoshiki and later passed away as well and was later replaced by Heath. They were just called X in the big hair days. Please react to X the song ( live )

I made a text of my own knowledge about X Japan, hoping it would have some insight youre new to.
There is a band called X Japan, which is quite literally, the most famous band out from Japan, They are the godfathers of genre called Visual Kei (Japanese metal songs with crazy aesthetics, makeup etc) they formed somewhere around mid 80's and are still going, but they were absent for 10 years from 1997 to 2008, they disbanded in 1997 because their vocalist Toshi got brainwashed by a cult and forced to leave the band. They held (at the time) their last live concert named The Last Live, few months after their disbandment their lead guitarist Hideto "hide" Matsumoto died due to an accident while drunk (it was first stated that he killed himself, but the band members were very against it, cause of how positive hide was as a person) his passing broke the whole country of Japan into grief, his grave is still visited today and there is a guitar museum in his memory in Japan. His funeral caused mass traffic of grieving fans in Tokyo, numbers around 50 000. Some even took their own life while grief-stricken. Their former bassist killed himself in 2011, he was kicked from the band from unknown reasons in 1992. X Japan influenced the music industry in Japan as much as their conservative society, which lead to Rock music taking uprising in Japan and there is a way in Japan where they use names as Pre- and Post X Japan, on how much they influenced everything.
The songs are mostly composed and written by their drummer/pianist Yoshiki Hayashi, who based a lot of the bands song from his tragic past. He was born in a frail and weak body, he wasnt meant to survive past his 20's yet he is still making music, he has been a classical pianist from the age of 4, he took up drumming at the age of 10, when he lost his father to a suicide. He started playing drums with such aggression that he was hospitalized and sometimes collapsed on stage due to immense pain and lack of air. Yoshiki has composed an anniversary song for the Emperor of Japan which he performed at the 10th anniversary of the Emperor. He also composed the theme song for the Golden Globe awards and has been taking over the music industry in rock music as in classical piano aswell. He also had a comic made by Stan Lee himself, named Blood Red Dragon, and his own Hello Kitty character named Yoshikitty, he was also a big part in many documents such as We Are X! and Yoshiki: My Story.
Their past guitarist hide also had a solo career which was very succesful until his death in 1998, he had many documentaries about him after his death, but sadly many of them arent in english, nor subtitled. He was the founder of Headwax and Lemoned organisations and produced many smaller bands to bigger audiences. He is been compared to Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain, in ways he affected the music industry in Japan.
