  • After finally ditching my Garmin Zumo 396, I have been trying to come up with a new navigation setup. This phone mount from QMount allegedly has everything I would need, but does it really deliver or is it too good to be true?
Let's find out in this unboxing review & test from the garage.

    SPOILER ALERT:
A minor inconvenience is indeed present, but maybe there is a cheap fix.
Camera: Honor 9 on DJI OM 4 gimbal
    Audio: Rode Smart Lav+ mic
Lighting: Ulanzi VL69 and a cheap camping headband light :)

Thanks for the video. Did you buy the vibration dampener separately? If so, can you share a link to it?

    Hello,
Thank you very much for the review.
Is there any way to charge the mount like a powerbank, so we don't have to plug in to the battery?
If not, it is possible to unplug the mount from the cables without unplugging them off the battery?
    Thank you for the feedback!

Hi Tiago! The mount doesn't have any battery pack so it can't definitely be charged beforehand.
As per unplugging the cable, you can't do it out of the box, but cutting the cable to install a couple of waterproof quick release connectors like the SAE is a 10 minutes job for anyone with a little electrics skills.

I have a Note 20 Ultra with a thin case... do you think it will fit? Does QMount offer free returns?

I can tell it fits a Blackview 9900, maybe you can check sizes. I wouldn't bet on any type of returns/refund from QMount though. I have tried engaging their customer support and they were completely useless, ghosting me.

How did you installed vibration dampener? Mine is stuck,or something. O can't take it apart.

I had to remove the component on the back so I could use the provided Allen key to unscrew it and replace it with the dampener part!

@@Adv4MM Sorry. I can't understand. I removed back part from my phone holder, and now I think I need to take apart dampener. But I can't. i was trying to twist aluminum ring, but it seems stuck...

You definitely have to unscrew the ring. I'd suggest to post on qmount socials for help? Sadly the customer service via email has been completely absent for me

@@Adv4MM Thank you. As I thought I need to unscrew that ring, ant dampener will tear apart in two plastic parts. Then I have to attach one plastic part to phone holder, and then screw back on that ring again... Am I right?

Both are supposed to be waterproof. The phone I've tested already splashing it with a water hose.
