"We all started somewhere" that line right there shows how humble, respectful and most of all inspirational you guys are! I actually shed a tear when I saw you guys helping the guy in blue shirt benching 102 kilos, not gonna lie. My new years resolution is to first of all, get started in a gym, and if I can bench half of what he did by the end of the year I'll be more than happy! That's how out of shape I am atm, BUT it's never too late to get started so here goes nothing! Wish someone would come up to me and help me like you guys helped him! Seriously guys you are awesome!

He’s right about psyching yourself out. Years ago when I was trying to get four (4) plates (405lbs) on my bench I psyched myself out. I’d push 395lbs up like it was nothing. I could barely move it once that fourth plate went on each side. One day I got it and it never felt quite that heavy after that happened.

You can do isometric holds with heavy weights to help the brain adapt to the weight. Like with squats I'll add my 1rm + 20% to the bar and take the weight as low as I can safely and hold it for like 20 seconds to a minute. Then I drop the weight and do my original set and rep scheme. It made a huge difference and I'm far more comfortable with heavy weights.

Love the positivity! A few years back, I lost a ton of weight (ie I was skin and bones) with some GI issues that ultimately lead to surgery. I can tell you from long personal experience what it's like to be the smallest, skinniest guy in the gym trying to rebuild from nothing, lifting the little weights while everyone else is slinging the big boys around. I definitely had people side-eyeing me and snickering at me giving my all to sling those little dumbbells around. The difference in having someone just come out and offer support wherever you're at changes everything. Momo, wherever you are, thank you for helping me the way these guys did in this vid. And congrats to the young man who hit 225 and found he had so much more in the tank than he ever realized!

I can't thank you guys enough for giving helping hands to the guy to “rise” from 85 kilos to 100, because he was clearly afraid of the weight. The thought of having a barbell crushing your ribs is frightening, and for good reasons. To have people of whom he knows are powerful enough to prevent just this _takes that fear away_ and as a consequence, he increased his max. weight by no less than 20%, and he likely will lift with much more confidence in the future. I find it inspiring to motivate people. The smallest gesture will make someone’s day. I was working out today beside an elderly gentlemen ( looked to be in his 70’s). Both on the stair master . We both happened to glance over and I said with a smile “ we’re getting after it my friend” and you could see him light up . Had a quick chat , and we both took something positive from that small interaction. This is what the world needs more of.

Honestly, if only all you gym bros out there would be so kind an help the "starters" out... Dude please everyone adapt this amaing grace towards mankind. Its to hard to get the ball rolling but once its in motion and you feel supported from those that have achieved what you see impossible/desire - this is what society needs, people helping people in everyday life. Hope everyone does their little part even if its just passing on a smile :) Cheers Coling Weng, first I've seen and very much a fan of what you're doing! Much love from NZ

I started going back to the gym and honestly it’s great going with people who are encouraging. I used to go years ago when the community was super toxic(I myself was toxic as well in all honesty). We need more people like this, the gym is a community.

I started lifting a decade ago as a scrawny 115 lb kid and remember it being super intimidating being surrounded by huge dudes pushing LITERALLY 5-10x as much weight as me. Especially going in there blind without a lifting partner, it can be really uncomfortable stepping into the gym as a newbie.
My 2nd or 3rd workout ever, some absolute BEHEMOTH of a guy who was repping 4+ plates on bench noticed i was struggling with form and didn’t have a spotter. Dude didn’t judge, stare, or poke fun.
He instead came over, introduced himself, was super friendly, gave me some form tips/physical cues and spotted me for a set. Encouraged the fuck out of me and told me I’d be hitting a plate by the end of the year.
I did end up hitting a plate that year. But I also gained a lifelong passion for the beautiful physical outlet that weightlifting is. And honestly, I don’t know if I would have kept going if it wasn’t for that guy.
I hope y’all know how much of a positive force you guys are. Even if you don’t realize it, you’re making an impact on people that they’ll never forget. This is the type of gym content we need.
