@@samysdefer maybe, I think its just human instinct to look at insane feats and go "woah", but americans are probably more likely to go up and congratulate because we have a more extroverted culture compared to europe or asia. personally if you see someone do more than 4 plates on anything (maybe 5 for deadlifts) its fairly likely that a couple people are gonna come up to congratulate, especially if it looks like you struggled. And if one person comes, that kinda lets other people know its ok so they go up to congratulate.
I think I weigh 70 kg. Haven't weighed myself in a while. Don't have a scale at home. This guy just lifted *two* damn 81kg bar bells. He lifted two mees. More actually. Ridiculously impressive and inspirational as all hell. Rock on!
While spotters don't need to be monsters and you certainly don't expect them to catch the full weight of whatever lift you're doing, it's always nice to have someone who can take as much weight as possible in the event something goes wrong.
I was 175lbs and deadlifting 405, I didn't look big or bulky at all. Don't underestimate people base don size. I used to do shoulder shrugs with 6-7 plates each side.

@@IronArmPanda I went from 50 kg (110 lbs) to 80 kg (176 lbs) within a year. I also gained 10 kg in that year and stayed relatively lean. My strength increase wasn't that big, I once tried 100 kg (220 lbs) but it was too heavy. People are just built different.

What impresses me more than his strength, is his muscle endurance. Its one thing in itself to lift BIG, but to have the endurance to keep going for other big lifts is crazy. I can bench 190kg for 4 reps but my chest is toasted after that. Great lifts👍 well done!!

The only fist bump I’ve got at the gym was from the locker room attendant when I put my towel in the laundry bag.

Just take it slow and steady. Back in the day I went from 100 to 325 within a year, them early gains are pretty crazy if you keep up on nutrition.

Genetics and nutrition play a huge role but most guys at my gym are on gear.
