I am from Australia and love Hello Fresh. It can be a bit hard to pick and choose meals when theres like 3 you really like say, but you need a minimum 4. The premium meals can be really good even if you have to pay more, but I guess that’s like anywhere hey :)

Thank you! You have confirmed all of my suspicions about Hello Fresh. It seems fine for some, but that's the extent of it. And I really agree with you about subscriptions!
This was super helpful thank you! We had a discount voucher come through the door and it feels very tempting as I hate food shopping. However… the plastic waste really concerned me - I think online supermarket shopping is probably a better and cheaper option in the long run really! Thanks for doing such thorough research :)

just ordered my first box, i hope i like it i think having it one week and skipping the next is probably the best option, to try new recipes and save money a little 😬😂

Got curious and looked it up because this could be a great solution for low income and single parents, it's not covered with EBT. Still creates an issue with "lower class" type stuff not having conveniences available. While it technically isn't prepared or hot food, it falls under that thing. I get having to pay shipping costs or pay for stuff that is prepared (cold breakfast sandwiches that can be microwaved to warm up are covered by EBT), it seems a little silly. Remains a US Government problem but, regardless. I myself have been going back and forth on the waste and emissions type thing for my specific lifestyle, it's got me in a bind. I want to like it as I do like cooking, but figuring out what to make and what goes into it that I can store and will use again is an issue.
Its expensive chefs plate is a better deal
My girlfriend and I live together and we have been looking for ways to cut back on costs, while this stuff isn't on EBT, it HAS helped us significantly with grocery costs. I pay ~250$ less in groceries having this box (We get 4 meals a week for 4 people, getting the non-premium meals it only costs us around $160 a box and we only buy 1 box every other week. The spaces in between box meals are filled by grocery foods, but even then we spend less than 100$ on groceries for that two week cycle). It also helps a lot with figuring out what to cook, and I have tried a LOT of new food since starting HF.

They don't have a plan for single people. If you live alone, you're stuck ordering for "2" people. How freaking dumb is that.
I’d assume it’s just not profitabel for them otherwise I don’t see why they wouldn’t have it 🤷🏼♀️ but yeah agree it is super annoying
