I love these videos because I find out about so many authors that I didn't know but now want to read! My TBR gets longer every time you talk about Central and Eastern European authors because you make them sound so interesting and fantastic.
rly love this ! i love how you talk abou central and easter european writing especially bc i feel like the complexities and heterogeneity of the whole region was completely ignored/dismissed in most things i learnt about europe at school and it's uite overwhelming to try and start to learn now. but yeah thank you !
My ethnicity is mostly (recent) immigrant Czech in both sides of my family, and you are the only channel I've ever been able to find any kind of recommendations based on that and I truly thank you for your research on this era, many bohemians emigrated to low income areas (as you would know) and preserving this small culture is surprisingly difficult

My Heart is my favorite book so far this year. I recently found his Sarajevo Blues which I'm looking forward to reading. Abigail is another favorite. I recently got Iza's Ballad. I appreciate your videos on Central and Eastern Europe because I am trying to read more fiction from this area, especially Croatian fiction.

Ahoj, Jennifer! Out of curiosity, do you have any Czech/Slovak ancestry? I know you spent time in Prague, but I’m curious if there’s more to your interest. I’m American as well, but I live with my Czech husband in Prague and it’s wonderful to hear someone talking about the literature and history of this region (and surrounding areas of Central/Eastern Europe) since it’s not common on booktube. Very niche, I love it 😄 These large wrap ups are great, so many books I haven’t heard of. Thanks!

I read The Door by Magda Szagbo a few years ago and loved it. I have Katalin Street and Abigail on my kindle TBR.
