You two should go to Bachelor's Grove Cemetery in Midlothian(near where you are). It's supposed to be one of the most haunted cemeteries in the US. Love the vid Michael and Jessica. Much love and horror from Kenosha.
That's what I was going to say. From a small town between Peoria and Chicago, IL
Bachelor's Grove is mostly fenced off now, and the Midlothian cops will stop you if they catch you messing around back there. I use to party there back in the early 80's, when I was in High School. Pretty creepy back there, at night.
@@tonycowser1843 it's still possible to go! Just went recently. I do agree though to be weary of cops.
@Matt Daniel, Hi neighbor, Jefferson Wisconsin here...
The famous picture a lady took figure of lady sitting down, nothing there when snapped but when developed clear as day the lady sitting there spooky
The Kroeschell grave monument was built to look like its wreath and ornaments were torn from it, just like half of it appears to be torn off. The monument was built like this to echo the way the deceased was torn from this world, and the grief that remains.
I’m from Chicago, Michael, and honestly never heard of the statue of eternal silence. Beautiful cemetery, and never have been there. Someday when I go back, I have to visit it. Thank you for sharing!
Funny how you mentioned Blues Brothers! I was lucky enough to have been an extra in the film!
im 40 mins from chicago never heard of this
The Inez Clarke grave @ 15:56 is probably the most talked about grave in that cemetery.
People claim when it rains sometimes the statue disappears from the box. One caretaker quit his job there because he apparently saw it walking around or something.
😳
I'm out because I always read the comments as well as the title. I'm scared to even watch the video. I just hit the like button and kept moving. Bad juju is bad juju whether you are there in person, pictures or videos it's still the same.
I lose sleep sitting up at night in bed watching your videos. Some of the coolest art in the way of statues I've seen has been in cemeteries.
I can see myself standing there like the guy in Mallrats trying to see the sail boat.
Beautiful statue and very striking color for a gorgeous grey day.
The Kroeshell monument represents death and all the damage done when family is taken from us. There was no vandalism. It was made to look like that.
I've lived in Chicago 70 years, my whole life. Yup... We never notice the trains. Great video.😢.
Go to Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago and there's a statue called the Pilgrim Statue or a.k.a. "The Death Statue" and rumor has it that anybody that dares to look in the eyes of the statue will die within a year. I did it back in the summer of 2010 and still alive and kickin.kicking.
The statue of the little girl encased In the glass container towards the end of this video has a been reported to be seen running around the graveyard on a stormy night and the cemetery decided to put a glass covering over it to stop it. I could be wrong but I do believe she did die during a storm, hence the umbrella. 🌂
@Ray James I work right by Bohemian!! I also grew up not far from it as well! Me and a coworker went on the tour that starts at dusk and was utterly INCREDIBLE!!!! I never knew about the Pilgrim Statue and don’t remember if our guide brought us to it or said anything about it! I need to look over my pics and videos that I took during the tour!
Come to Cleveland and go to the Lake View Cemetery. The Haserot Angel is there and it looks like it's weeping black tears due to how the rain falls on it. Really creepy, but also cool looking. Also, Eliot Ness is buried in that cemetery.
There was a time I was afraid to go to cemeteries, then I moved across the street from one of the older cemeteries in my hometown for awhile back in the early 2000s. I started walking over there for exercise, and now I find them peaceful and fascinating places. A lot of history to be had, as well as lovely, touching memorials and monuments erected by loved ones of the deceased. That Guardian of Silence statue is amazing! Thanks, guys!
I also feel peace in cemeteries.
My sons nursery school was at an old Episcopal church that had a graveyard attached. They would take walks back there & have the kids read headstones to learn their letters.
We have a graveyard in Halifax, Camp Hill many walk through it daily from running, walking. I even seen someone taught their kid to ride a bike in there. Every October 5th people drink Alexander Keith's beer leave the empty can at his family plot
I've always felt peace at cemeteries, it's the living that giveme anxiety
When I was 16 we moved to a house in a quiet cul de sac where my bedroom window overlooked a large cemetery. It was so peaceful and beautiful, and it never felt spooky or sad (and I am generally a sad person lol). The bathroom window looked out onto an older part of the cemetery with lots of typical English early 20th century tombstones, surrounded by leafy trees. When the sun shone it was beautiful. Sadly I moved south after 8 years, but I felt lucky to have lived there.
Love your video as always. I also loved the Blues Brothers clip, a favourite movie of mine. I don't think Chicago would be complete without those trains going by♥️
I have to say that The Statue of Eternal Silence gives me a shiver. I swear those eyes are looking right back at you!
Wow this place is gorgeous!!
The statues and the big pretty pond, just lovely
i’ve been binge watching your guys’ videos and i love them! gives me all the spooky vibes! 👻
My kinda people ♥️🎃♥️
Me too. I love their videos!!!
so the statue of the girl in the glass case there 2 different stories one was where the girl got hit by lightning and died and she been seen there the other story is a girl who died from phomimna( if I remember right) and is buried under there..I was there 2 years ago there alot of history there and the knight there someone is actually buried underneath it but I forgot who he was I love cemetery but it breaks my heart when I see infants or little kids who died at a young age from pleg etc
I read the back of the Eternal Silence monument. It appears Dad and 2 kids died from an epidemic in 1844….and poor Mom only lived 5 more years after they were lost…🥺
You 2 are going grow old together and be forever together
One of my favorite Semetary statues ever. Use to live 5 min walk away from there, right off Clark st.
One of my last memories of my mother, she was visiting Chicago from Oregon, and I took her to Graceland. We took photos together in front of Eternal Silence. She passed away not long after she got back to Portland. RIP Christine Smith, love you Mom
I live by bachelors grove. You can walk through during the day, at night it’s closed off. It can be spooky, it’s haunted. 👻
Yes indeed, Haunted beyond belief! The pictures I get, and the EVP recordings are off the charts crazy!
That statue of eternal silence looks phenomenal who ever the artist 👩🎨 Bravo! .. Trains run by us behind our house every 15 mins ... Thanks for another Grimm adventure Jessica Michael Safe Travel 🧳 ⏰
The piece was done by Loredo Taft. He also did the Crusader , the knight we saw in the video:)
In Chicago we call that train that keeps going by the “L”. It’s an elevated commuter train.
Very beautiful cemetery!! The guardian of silence is both calming and kinda creepy at the same time! Another awesome detail filled video!!!🙏🏽❤️🔥🎃☠️
The grave you were saying that looks like the coliseum is the grave of the Kimble’s the ones who made the pianos. Love this cemetery
My friend and I wish we knew you were here. Would love to meet you both. We have been to that cemetery and had a weird experience. Long story but we kept hearing someone screaming. At first we thought it was someone from the main road messing around but then we saw this woman/girl dressed in 60's kind of clothing walking around by herself. We didn't think anything of it until we were looking at some graves and she showed up from no where and when she looked at us it was really freaky. Like she looked right through us and then when we kind of ran back to the car we hear that scream again and we didn't see her AT ALL!!! Believe me we looked. So don't know if she was a ghost or not but freaked us the hell out!!!
You need to visit the Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond VA. There’s a great vampire story and a haunted black dog statue. Also it is gorgeous.
I googled a few of the names on the monuments as I watched the video. Many of these people were famous architects, and helped design what would become Chicago. I even found out that the brother of author Charles Dickens is buried there. Jack Johnson is the most famous person there, but there are also several Chicago Cubs players of the early years of baseball buried there. When I looked up W.M. Hirsch, I found a bunch of relatives of his in Chicago. One of them is alive in his 80's and highly known for his contribution to math and genealogy. One of the other huge burial sites was of Chicago's richest man between the late 1800's and 1920's.
Hi Michael & Jess, Just watched the video. Thank you both so much for being my friends, and for being here. I so very much appreciate the shout-out and you both going out of your way to pay a visit to my favorite person from the past Jack Johnson. It was fantastic to see his grave and his mom's and first wife. Again, when you return to LA we have to have a BBQ for you 2 in honor of Jack.
Thanks and be safe, and Always,
'Keep it Spooky'

Oh my god David.. Welcome
David Oman... Know so much about the house... You and your dad built
@@deirdrerosesharples7453 Well Thank you for the shout-out. Much appreciate it. David O.
Hi David👋Big fan here! Love you & your beautiful home!🤗💖💫👻
I was reading the comments to see if you saw the video. Glad you watched it too. When Michael and Jess came to your house, the video they did was so interesting to watch and it was so neat to hear all the stuff you were telling them. Do your Beetlejuice figurines still fall over? Take care of yourself.
That was beautiful. My favorite part is the joy of Jessica jumping in the leaves. 😇
Spent the fall and winter in LA watching your vids. Now back in Chicago. Welcome! Lincoln Park was a huge graveyard with the man many bodies still in the ground. One mausoleum remains. A bridge nicknamed the suicide bridge once stood over the pond in the center of the park.
I used to work for a company in the chicago burbs that made headstones. I am also a ghost story nut and there are two books I will recommend you to get. One is Graveyards of Chicago by Matt Hickey and Ursula Bielski and the other book is Chicago Haunts by Ursula Bielski. Hope you like them and love watching your videos.
I'm born and raised in Chicago and throughout the '80s and early 90s my sister and I will take her kids to this cemetery numerous times to do headstone etchings, the blue statue if you look in his eyes for 30 seconds to a minute you will feel a cold chill go through you, and the statue of the little girl in glass is a replica of the girl that died her father had built in her liking and at night it is said you can hear a child crying into cemetery and if you go into the cemetery at night you will see two blue glowing eyes running over the hill, it is also said to be haunted.
I LOVE looking in graveyards for tombstones! Best hobby ever!
Loved this video.Born in Chicago I would of ten visit this cemetery. The Templer Knight statue is that of Victor Lawson,he was the publisher of the Chicago Daily News. The Large Columns belong to Potter Palmer and his Wife.Famous for the Palmer House.I had read Film Critic Roger Ebert is buried at Graceland, but it was never verified.Still this was a Great video.
I remember the Sleepy Hollow episode and Jessica’s love of dried leaves, very enduring, thanks again and seven months till Halloween! Time flies
Wow you all are in my Hometown!!!! CHICAGO!!!!! I didn’t know about that Thank you for Sharing I might try to find it and visit it!!!! 🎃👍♥️
Love that you were able to visit this cemetery while in Chicago. I had a great time visiting there and was happy to see that you highlighted some of my favorite statues. The faceless angel being one of my favorite. Wasn't sure if you were aware of the ghost story that went along with the girl in the glass case. The story was that the girl's name was Inez Clark and she was killed by being struck by lightning. The statue, was said to disappear whenever it stormed and that sometimes you could see a little girl playing in the cemetery. There was some investigation on the girl and found out that she is the daughter of Mary and that wasn't her last name but Briggs which is from another marriage. She also didn't die from being stuck by lightning. Still it is a fun ghost story to tell when talking about this statue.
Wow another upload .cant wait for you to come to England. We live near York a really old and haunted place ..
We can’t wait either. Been planning it for a long time.
@@grimmlifecollective When do you plan on leaving to Europe? I would like to save up a few bucks then PayPal you when you get ready to start your new adventure after you hop over the pond. Thanks 🙏🏽
I love your channel! With love from the UK. Xx
My great grandparents and great uncle and I believe majority of my family are buried at this cemetery or Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums. My grandma can’t remember but seeing as you are in Chicago which is awesome !!
The story of the little girl statue is interesting. It supposedly comes to life and walks the cemetery grounds some nights and reappears in the chair in the morning. Another interesting part is there isn't a girl buried there at all, it's a boy named Amos Briggs, and nobody knows who the girl actually is.
Hey guys just wanna say I’m from the UK and I’ve been watching you both for over a year and I always look forward to seeing you,Thankyou for all the interesting videos take care Caroline x
Love ur vids you put in such a lot of work in ur vids and it shows! U are a great storyteller! Keep em coming you guys rock!!
Such a beautiful cemetery. The statues and the buildings are absolutely breathtaking.
Oh wow, I live in IL but have never been to this cemetery. It's beautiful. Thanks for taking us all with you. Some people have already mentioned Resurrection in the southern suburbs. I'd like to add that the whole general area around Resurrection is full of old cemeteries. It's loosely referred to as "the land of the dead" by locals. So, if you ever come back, consider that area! I found your channel a few months ago and have really been enjoying the content. Keep it up, you two! Take care and Happy Halloween.
Graceland Cemetery is beautiful. It’s known as the Cemetery of Architects. Many of the architects who rebuilt Chicago after the fire are buried there.
I’m sure you’re gone by now, but Rosehill Cemetery nearby is also great to visit. For true crime followers, this is where Bobby Franks is entombed, the victim in the Leopold and Loeb case in 1924.
Also, interesting burial fact. George Pullman is also buried here. He was a railroad magnate but is most famous for the Pullman Strike in 1894. When he was buried he was so despised by his employees that the family buried his coffin in concrete wrapped with railroad ties. This was in case the workers wanted to dig up his body.
Very Interesting and beautiful cemetery guys...glad you guys found this one. I love seeing statues in cemeteries 🪦.....very neat....love looking around knowing it's history of all these ppl buried there In these graveyards /cemetery 🪦......lo e you guys and take care and stay safe and safe travels 💕🥾🥾....
I had to look up that little girl's monument. Very spooky and fascinating story with her! I know in Massachusetts there's another little girl monument incased in glass as well. 🖤
A little history, if you see an unfinished tombstone and you can tell it is made that way it stands for an unfinished life or an life that was ended too soon.
Truly enjoyed this trip guys... thanks for bringing this to us around the globe..
I read that Kroeschell monument was designed to represent life being torn apart. I'm not sure if there was a bronze wreath on it at some point. The Eternal Silence is beautiful and scary.
The wreath would almost certainly have been made of bronze considering the craftsmanship (assuming it ever had one, the effect could have been accomplished with overspray) I have tried to find evidence linking the Taft “Eternal Silence” sculpture to the vintage Ouija Board boxes but I can’t find anything. Considering the age of both the change in box design from original and the sculpture c.1920, it seems most likely that Wm. Fuld co. did borrow the design.
You guys are my ultimate favorite UA-camrs! Glad you got home to LA. but also glad you’re on the move again. So, we can see and share with you all your fabulous adventures! Thank You Michael and Jessica for making us all happy with all the creepy fun times!🖤♥️💚💜🤗😎

Hi from Betsy and Kenny! We just recently discovered your videos and just love each one of them! They are so informative, entertaining, very respectful, thank you soo much!!! Can't wait to watch the next one.
You guys should come to the UK, there's plenty old cemeteries over here that you'd find interesting there's a really nice gothic one right in the centre of Edinburgh called grey friars where the wee dog grey friars Bobby is. That's an amazing story plus the likes of Mackenzie ghost from the same grave yard.
Such a beautiful cemetery! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us 🖤💜🖤💜
Thank you! This is incredible !! Not just the Cemetery but, the camera angles are brilliant and editing brilliant!
Hello Michael and Jessica!! Beautiful cementery, I'm learning a lot about all what you show me, thank you
Thanks for taking us along with you on this adventure.
Your style in presenting your videos is so dark and awesome!! Gives me chills and my hair on my arms are standing straight up!!

Thats a cool cemetary, really awesome statues & monuments. Thanks for another great vid Michael & Jessica. 🤘🏻
Love your sweater! Such an awesome adventure! I love when I visit Chicago, will have to make stop there on the next visit!
Great video. Been a fan of this channel for some year’s.🤘🏼
Thanks for the video and all of the great stones graves!
Have you done Resurrection Cemetery also in Chicago? The story of resurrection Mary has always been fascinating to me.
Thoroughly enjoyed this! As always! Thankyou!💚💚💚
Where I 100% don't believe in any of the supernatural aspects of any of the clips you folks post I do find a lot of the talking points you reference pretty interesting. It's a good mix, fair play.
Kroeschell's tombstone is designed that way. The chipped edging shows the mason's work of making it look that way in addition to the folded over name plate on it.
Grimmlife never misses a beat! I've known about this statue for years, and even have an old board from the 70s with a box just like the one in your thumbnail . Keep it up you two..we love these videos!🙂👍🇨🇦
love the camera super clear, cool vid like always
You guys are in my town. During the 80’s I spent a lot of time hanging out in that cemetery taking pictures. You should check out the cemetery across the street from me. It Rosehill Cemetery, with another ghostly story there Mother and infant in the box.
Love these!!! Keep ‘‘em coming.

Most people do not realize this, but cemeteries are a great place to research history. It is often the last and best info about people.
I’m so glad I found your channel!! So interesting
I loved this episode. You both were great. It was very relaxing, and just absolutely so cool. I had no idea there were graves like this.
If I’m not mistaken this is the cemetery that Flatliners was filmed in. We drove past it while they were filming there not knowing that it was Flatliners lol
Hello, I've been watching ur videos for a long time and it is cool and fascinating and ur story telling is amazing, keep doing videos for us grimm :) stay safe.

Love your sweatshirt. I have never scene a cemetery like that. Statues so detailed eloquent. The weather definitely added to the tone. Beautiful video. Thank you
