Hey great guide thank you. i've got a question since in the wowhead guide they dont take dark talons but wither away. Is it maybe because the dps gain from death strike being magic dmg isnt that high because we lose the bonus dmg from bloodshot?
The BDK in the footage is a Nightborne. Not great in terms of racial skills (although they do get a mailbox on a 10 minute CD), but they are the only way to get Night Elf model/animations as Horde. BElf is better if you're worried about player power at all.
Great video. It is my main tank aand adding soul reaper, consumption, DRW, tombstone, rune weapon, abom limb...seems like we got 5 or 6 new buttons. What are your thoughts on the button bloat? Lots of other classes/spec seemed to go the opposite direction and trim down the buttons. Nevertheless great video and ill still be maining BDK
The increase in bloat is pretty significant. Also, you virtually always took either Abom Limb or Soul Reaper, not both, so that is another keybind. Playing DK well has definitely gotten harder while all other tanks have gotten easier, but the potential is higher because the toolkit is so much larger and stronger.
I think I f-cked up boosting Death Knight. I used to play it years ago, and it was easy, now I'm just confused and have no idea how I'm going to juggle all of these plates. It's a little too much for my old brain. Now I'm gonna have to drop even more money boosting another class. This rotation is far too complicated and annoying.. Not fun.
@@dojyr3130 Agreed but 3-4 new CDs is quite extensive. You already have to manage Tombstone, DRW, Abom, Vamp Blood, Lichborne, AMZ (if taken). Now include Reaper's Mark, Soul Reaper, Consumption, Bonestorm, Gorefiend's (wasn't usually taken in DF but more accessible now). Lots of CDs for sure, especially when other classes/specs got buttons removed over DF (looking at you disc priest) and coming into TWW.
It is, but it's still a good damage and defensive scalar, and the most forgiving stat due to helping with resource generation. The delta between all the stats at current gear levels is not particularly large, so really you just want to emphasize item level above all else.
@@MentalAutomaton stack haste until you can reliably death strike every 5 seconds, then forget it exists is the current recommendation, versatility is good for survival, critical strike is good offensively
Haste is the least useful stat for Deathbringer builds. Prio is: Strength > Versa = Mastery > Crit > Haste. Playing with low base haste is fine, we always have Icy Talons up.
@@WoWatNight I love the guide, but I think people that are looking at blood guides are probably already 85 and there are many videos on how to frost. Having the first 7 minutes not be about blood might be confusing. Just trying to be constructive! Keep em coming
@@WoWatNight I've just set ALT to one thumb button on my mouse and CTRL to the other. Middle bar is 1-12 (keys: 1 - 0 and - =). Left bar is (ALT + 1-12). Right bar is CTRL + 1-12). So, I can just hold one thumb button or the other and hit any key 1 - 12 (when I say 1-12, I obviously mean 1 - 0 plus the "-" and "=" keys). I'm thinking about making some full-on buff rotation macros though, to simplify my opening sequences. Because those will almost always be the same depending on the application, and then just focus on keeping my rotation up manually after that point. I'm just not sure how good I'll be at dynamically juggling the plates based on the fight. Death Knight got way more complicated from when I used to play it.
Can we fix Sanlayn plz? The Haste buff could be just tied to death strike giving the 7% period, no RNG, like the haste buff we get from bone shield. That way we don’t have to chase those VB windows and can just play normal. Who was the genius that thought to implement a Flash concentration gimmick on DK and thought it was a good idea…
Yeah, it was insanely overpowered early on in the alpha. Then it was nerfed down to just being regular overpowered. Then it was nerfed down to being just okay. Then it was nerfed down to where it is now. =|
Why did you make a video talking about a tank guide in prepatch and now? Are you gonna make one for when raid and keys go live too? Seems kind of redundant to do that when all the tanks arent changing all that much playstyle wise
@@WoWatNight yes they are.... but it's still the same where the specs play amost the same, so again. It just seems redundant to remake basically the same video
Great video man, not sure why all these peeps complaining about frost leveling for first 7min lol.. the video is time stamped ffs, just skip it if you dont need that info.. silly people. Keep up the good work bro x
"This is a blood dk guide, let me talk about unrelated shit for 6 minutes straight. That's totally what the viewer wants..." come on man.. wasting people's time..
Imagine you would put in the time to bring up the spells logo's on screen and increase the audience to people who have the game set in other languages but understand english instead of just having plain boring gameplay in the background that has ZERO to do with the video.
No. First, this is a rude way to ask us to change how we make videos. Second, you're late on this topic. We had a lot of complaints when we added the spell icons because spell values or icons changed after we made the video. Third, the gameplay is directly related to the video's topic.
@@WoWatNight First. People watch guides for the sake of learning smth they didnt know beforehand. Just throwing around spellnames with no visual link is bad design. The changing of icons is just WoW but for somebody returning to WoW your video has ZERO relatable input. The rotation is not explained well and for new players completely useless.
We took that feedback and it caused backlash with those who make up 97% of our viewership. Your continued criticism of our video design won't force us to change again. We consider this matter closed.
Haste is the weakest secondary for Blood btw. Versa/Mastery are priorities followed by Crit for more damage.
Yeah that's true and we already updated it in our upcoming video
I dont know, i love Haste then vers/mastery , It works wonders for me as saynlain
What Embrace of the Loa would you go with? Coming back after years and thanks for the refresher.
Paku!
@@WoWatNight for tanking crit? that is very interesting
It's just crit. Not a great option as a tank
Thanks for the video! Was very insightful and well edited !
Glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah, that's possible. The damage from Blood Plague in AoE is also not bad, so effectively doubling it is actually very decent.
When I tried to import the talent tree into wow I got an error message saying it was an older version.
Sounds like a bug with Wowhead's talent calc.
why does the wowhead guide for mplus take Wither Away instead of Dark Talons and Painful Death instead of Swift End in the hero talent tree?
You'd have to ask whomever is writing that guide these days :P
@@WoWatNight ok then, why do you take those 2 over the other 2 :D
Mythic plus reasons, they're fun.

Play frost! I can share a macro i use when i get on my computer and tell you what i do its not optimal but you can get crazy bursts@AlphaMachina
I thought Haste was less beneficial after the Death Strike changes, does something else keep Haste as the top stat?

why is the first 7mins of the vidoe about frost dk's? misleading
Because it's about the optimal way to level.
