Man most of these creator guides are a similar format to yours my dude BUT the one difference is you have a quick 1 fight run through at the end. That’s why you’re the man. All the other guys just say “there’s no rotation for tanks it’s all situational” but this man shows you a quick gameplay sample to give you an idea of what the rotation would look like. Absolute GigaChad. Thanks for the run down Dorks!
the question that I really need to ask, where is the skill bar? all the youtubers/streamers are knowing exactly what to press and dreaming on the skills/macros? I need to see my skills on the bar, where are the skills?
@@allan293-f8c No buddy. That 2 line bars at the middle of the screen is an addon that shows all skills and cds he needs to know. And the skill bar he (and a lot of ppl) doesn't need to see because he knows the keybinds. A lot of content creators (and the ppl that are REALLY tryhard) have a keybind logic so they awalys know what kind of skill is binded on each key
@@raphaelcoelho9466why would you call people who memorize their keybinds or have keybind logic tryhards, it’s just muscle memory tbh I quit on shadowlands can eback in TWW and rebinded everything, then was surprised later when my muscle memory kicked in and i started pressing the old keybinds i had by mistake so i reverted back to those as i remembered them xD
Maybe the best guide I ever seen. Simple, quick, to the point... You are not trying to showoff... Thanks. I'm coming back on WOW since we did M'uru pre nerf, and I'm more confident now.
Pretty quick, specific and easy to follow guide. Really apreciate the work your are putting to create this type of content. Helped me a lot to progress into the M+ tanking universe. Great Job Dorki!
Thank you for building this. This is exactly what I needed. I've been nervous about maining prot warrior, since none of my friends play this spec, but you eased my fears. Your video is easy and clean to follow. I'm going to watch this a few times and put it into practice. Thank you also for the fight at the end. It's so helpful to see you do the things. Look forward to more videos!
Thanks! After 13 years playing DPS, I wasn't happy and motivated to continue playing, but the Idea of starting to tank motivated me to play again, I like to learn new stuff and your videos are definitelly helping me a lot!
Thanks for the tips Dorki, I was overthinking this spec w/ Revenge but playing it like you said is awesome, enjoying playing the game and actually getting in with groups now. You’re doing the Lord’s work
This is what I like in a tutorial. You show it's done against just talking on and on. In this regard, I do miss miss Preach's class tutorials as he always show gameplays whenever he does tutirials and even having less than optimal gears at that. Too bad he isn't streaming wow now.
Great guide as always! I know MT is the recommended build to play, but I've been slamming in dungeons playing Colossus. the damage it does is great and I feel it's just as tanky as MT.
I’m a bit behind already (still getting used to returning to retail and catching up on everything, took my time leveling, etc) but I’m really looking forward to tanking some dungeons on my warrior main this week. Thanks for the great primer.
really good guide , you dont juste talk about ability you also show the icon associated with each one with nice animation , really important for new , also one question at 3:00 - 3:14 , i dont understand , the biggest the shield is , the more i block ?? , what is the biggest shield transmo you use mate
Really thanks for this one! I've leveled my war to 70 in prepatch to get it ready as alt for TWW but I was a bit concerned about not being able to keep up with rage overcap/procs and it felt so wasted... Now I now I've put too much focus on Revenge (was mostly farming echos so Ignore Pain wasn't that useful since I've barely took any dmg).
Doesn't matter if its useful or not. You are doing most damage with your rage generators und ignore pain is perfect to dump a lot of rage to reset your shield slam and get your avatar cd down fast, so it lines with your other cds perfectly.
What about swapping the Bloodsurge talent for Disrupting Shout in the class tree. So far I haven't missed the bit of extra rage from Bloodsurge... In fact it's easier to not over cap. But having an instant cast aoe interrupt is MASSIVE. Slightly shorter cooldown than sigil of silence even.
bloodsurge is too valuable in higher keys but you can drop ravager/bsv for disrupting shout. the way disrupting shout works requires interrupting the actual cast instead of silencing like vdh
Thx for the video! Little question, when i use charge and shieldcharge i only get 20 rage. When I delay the shieldcharge a little bit I get the 60. Is that supposed to be? :)
Great video thanks Dorki, is there a chance that you make for dk too? Also i guess i have to dump my rage on ignore pain even tho if i had max absorb thanks for the insight
Can I ask a question as a new Prot warrior? I noticed in the build that Intimidating Shout. Is that needed for new content? It does lead to Spell Reflection but so does taking Frothing Berserker. Just curious about the selection.
Great guide. thank you! In BFA we had a WA to track what % our IP was at since each cast only did 70% of the total ignorable amount. I still have that same weakaura but seems like it doesn't matter anymore, do you track that? I don't see it on your bars but you could just know based on the amount
prot warrior is very straightforward. i like everything mentioned in the vid but i'm also leaning more towards colossus because of the bigger ignore pains, the better critical blocks and the option to use demolish as a dmg cd for packs your dps arent using cds for or using it for the 15% DR. theres also play for using it as anti-stun/pushback. lastly, a small thing but i also value crit higher than verse as we all know crit = parry and you get double the parry value when compared to verse dr
oh and i think theres more value in skipping champion spear's follow up talents and instead picking up roar. also skipping unstoppable force as colossus
I'm guessing you'll update them, but your MDT routes are all from past season FYI. I'd either update that or remove from the video links. Ty for the vid Dorki!
So my GF asked me to tank and I've been sampling prot. Thunder Blast is hitting for 500k a target and I'm not even high enough ilvl to get into heroics yet. I think I'm gonna like this class lmao.
I find Intervene to be "decent" at least in most dungeons. Yeah, you "lose" the additional stop, but stops are only "okay" now with mobs recasting anyway. At absolute worst it saves the FDK from killing themselves on pull with a gigantic Obliterate and at best you external someone for like 10% of their health on a magic damage raidwide. Also has situational usefulness in terms of getting out of melee without using heroic leap.
you can also intervene some huge abilities which is why he put the importance or it out there. it 100% stops the damage of first boss nws frontal on the player, tank takes the damage anyways and you can do every one of them
i have macro'ud ip and sb and when i finish a heroic dungeon like 10 minutes or so.. overall it says to me:92%ip used 90-93%sb used so i guess is ok :) no longer need to track the ignore pain or shield block
Hey maybe you see this. Great guide. I really want to get into tanking with my warri but I often have the problem that I cant hold aggro when i'm not using Revenge frequently enough. How do you tank such big groups without it? I really dont get it =/ I'm currently at ilvl 582. Didnt do any M0 or Raid so far, only HC and world content. Thanks again for the nice guide!
The charge -> shield charge tech isn't working for me. They both go on cooldown, I get the shield block duration but only 20 rage instead of the full 60. I'm missing the rage gain from shield charge. Anyone know what's up?
You gain the rage from charge upon reaching the target not on cast so the charge itself has to be the thing that hits first. The issue is when you shield charge while dashing and "override" the charge.
I have a questions for the Talents why are we not playing Rumbling Earth (better shockwave) or Disrupting shout? Mot people complain that warrior doesnt have enough Utility and this would give more cc and an aoe kick.
The interesting thing about tank trees is that, since they don't have access to an objective performance metric that dictates what the best build is like DPS, they are a lot more open to experimentation and personal choices. So give it a try and see if that qol is better, and then try other setups. Who know, you might end up with a different build template per dungeon
warrior utility is fine but also there are a lot of stuns atm so it gets heavily DR'ed easily. disrupting shout can be ok but will give up some throughput
Well structured Guide! but I´m missing a sentence or two regarding Violent Outburst and Execute. I tryed this build and it can take like twice the punishment of my favorite Colossus build, however it also deals like only halv the dmg, so... I gues for content you outgear (Mid-Low tier m+) Colossus is way stronger (where/for this talent build and playstyle does not work at all btw).
Very nice guide. What about disrupting shout? I know it's a long CD, but given how they changed spell casting so other CC will just delay the cast, wouldn't disrupting shout be a solid choice for big pulls? Or is just that you can't spare the 1 point from anything else?
you can drop ravager/bsv for disrupting shout. the way disrupting shout works requires interrupting the actual cast instead of silencing like vdh which can be useful but i wouldn't play it that often
@@Dorki Yeah I guess it's very situational if multiple casts are happening at once, but at least it's gonna put them on CD like a normal interrupt would. Might also be good in less coordinated groups or pugs, where people might interrupt the same casts, or no interrupts at all.
@Dorki the other issue with it requiring to interrupt is it only locks out of the same spell school (so it might not even bring the casters in) and Blizzard loves desyncing important casts anyway so you probably aren't getting huge value.
I thought you had said you were maining BDK. I'm pumped you did the warrior video first though. Definitely helped me on a few things I was ignorant about. Great vid homie
A question on macroing ignore pain - is it at least ok to macro it to shield slam? You said no to the specific question "should I macro it to everything" but is there anything that it would be "acceptable" to macro it to?
