Corrupted Ashbringer probably goes on that list for most DKs, as well as Shadowmourne. While not exclusive to DK, they are very DK themed (even if Ashbringer was never available to DKs until Account-wide transmog)
I really want the old artifact appearances. The ones for Apocalypse and Maw of the Damned are just so cool. I love the frost ones too, but I dont dual wield.
I'm glad I have most of these, but yeah I'm really fucking mad we can't get those Artifact skins; "Go back in time." should never be the only way to get a cosmetic in a video game.
i kind of wish they would just give us the base appearence from the Mage tower one and then say "okay go do the criteria to unlock the other colors." would be nice for those who didnt get to play legion or ended up leaving midway through or came back at the end bfore they could get a chance.

Isn't it funny how armor sets back in the day hold up so well to this day and seem to capture the class fantasy better than most modern sets? I'm not discrediting the effort put into making the SL and DF sets but they seem a lot less creative than the others and lack a certain spark of imagination. Everything is bulky, everything is flashy, everything is over the top and when everything is special? Nothing is special.
Not getting the Rogue MoP challenge mode set is one of my biggest regrets in items that are no longer able to be acquired. The other is the ZG Tiger which I actually did farm weekly before its removal but just had bad luck. I also helped get the original ZA battle bear about 5 times but each run was a roll to see who got it. I am also missing 2 glad mounts but those are a long story lol.
i can proudly say i have the twin unholy apocalipse red sword and man...that thing almsot broke me....i spent like 4 days practicing that freaking fight until i got it, but its one of my proudest weapon skins all around
The Mythic Nighthold set is my absolute favorite DK set. When I decided I want to play an unholy dk next to my evoker heal, I went out farming nighthold immediatly and got it in about 3 IDs
For #1 , I've got partially good news - you can still obtain the OTHER COLORED variations of the Mage Tower challenge as long as you have completed the base appearance (the quest) of this challenge back in the day and have it transmogrified while completing the criteria for the other variations. I discovered this myself by accident when I went to kill HC Kil'jaeden purely for the boredom 😂 and ended up with the green bony Apocalypse in my transmog appereances. 😁
I know it isnt a set exactly, but the Cataclysm first tier of raiding, the heroic (red) plate set looks incredible. From the Dragon Bone Warhelm to the chestguard of apocalpyse, it looks stunning to me and I've been using it ever since.
personally as a frost dk it is odd you didn't add the 1h sword weapons from sod kelthuzad. those look absolutely sick and matches the theme of dk very well
I have already liked the Death Knight set after finishing the Death Knight starting zone is the best set. I have a couple of death knights have their gear transog into this set, it looks so cool. Some of my friends like the begging starter set from the Death Knight starting zone.
The mage tower has to be one of my highlight periods of wow, 36/36. Still mad I didn't get to do the MoP challenge modes because I was busy faffing about and didn't realise they'd be gone, gone.
The two things I wish Blizzard would add a way to acquire are the MoP Challenge mode sets and the older elite PvP sets.. With the pvp sets you could use it as additional rewards and as an ensensitive for PvP since they generally have much less than PVE players have. You could still require a like 2k-2200 rating to start getting them. It would give people more of an incentive to play past that rating.
Speaking of Mage Tower, I still have great sense of pride in getting all the mage, warlock, druid, spriest, Havoc DH, and Ret mage tower Weapon skins. So few people still around who have sparklekitty, and I see even Fewer arcane mages with MT Aluneth these days.
As a Frost DK myself, I had to get that weapon transmog, mixed with the Nighthold set. I'm surprised that the Bladesworn set from the Seat of the Primus in Shadowlands wasn't mentioned.
It's probably because of how easy that set is to obtain so it's not really sought after. You just do the Maldraxxus campaign and call it a day. It's guaranteed and can be done in under 2 hours. Everything else in this video requires either a long farm time, lots of luck to get the mog to drop or sometimes both.
How the Warrior T3 Dreadnought set is not on this list is almost criminal. It is the DK set before DK's were playable. Inspired by the 2nd generation Death Knights from Naxx. Its not class restricted.
Interestingly the first set is ACTUALLY the lich kings armor, not the night hold set. The night hold set just gets attributed more to the lich king look because a) the helm on the night hold set is a helm of domination lookalike while the other set uses an original helm and b) a lot of the details for the icc set are matted into the textures. This was very common for WoW back in the day, as old technology had more limitations in how smoothly a server could run when too many polys were present.
I found the order hall set to be very ugly. Seeing the mop set, it looks worlds better by comparison and that makes the order hall set more disappointing.
13:50 actually, while legendaries and most sets don't work, sets like the forbidden reach world set does work, most of the time doesn't matter but some like the electric ray that shoots when you kill X enemies it does help.
What always annoyed me that boots for T10 Normal version were not available for players untilI BFA introduced Island Expeditions, where it finally dropped. Whole six years of waiting for final piece of this amazing set, which paired perfectly with Shadowmourne and Ebon Blade tabard.

I cannot believe the amount of people who are still on this "It devalues my achievements" nonsense when it comes to readding previously removed appearances/items back into the game. I have Corrupted Ashbringer, I have T3, I have most of the Legion Magetower appearances, there is nothing that Blizzard could do to devalue those items because I have the memories of attaining them when they were new. I dont "lose" that just because they make it available again.
36/36 Mage Tower here and I agree. The players like me who got these have had them exclusive for years, it's time to get over it and let the new guys get some cool looking stuff. Besides, most of them were much easier to get at the end of legion with the higher ilvl anyway, only a few were still tough for me to beat with the higher gear (healer and a couple of tank challenges).
Totally disagree about blizz retuning the mage tower artifact appearances. As someone who played in legion and owns them, I am glad to have something exclusive that you don't see that often anymore. If they did bring it back, it should be for a new color version, not the old ones.

The entire point of the mage tower then was to complete it with the artifact weapons, which no longer exist nor the same talent system ect. That has nothing to do with gate keeping. If that were the case, then all exclusive titles, achievements ect should be brought back. Why have anything in game be exclusive then? They brought the mage tower back for modern players to earn a new armor set.

The normal 10m version, yeah. You'd then have to upgrade the tier with marks depending on what version you want. Vendor sells 10m normal, but you'd need the marks from normal 25m to upgrade them, and you'd need that 25m normal version + a heroic mark to then upgrade again to the 25m heroic version
If you got Ahead of the curve or Keystone hero, you’re probably a high end player, not the top end ones though. Considering most of the player base won’t even get those achievements. Also the helm and set of the last raid of Dragonflight, I would say it’s call back to first generation DK’s.
The tier 6 from TBC is NOT from Sunwell... is from Black Temple and Hyjal Summit..... If you run Sunwell you get a completely diferent set of armor... The tier 6 these new models are based upon, drops from BT and MH as i said, and so does the complientary pieces like belts and boots... Did AI took over Hiru's channel? Lot's of issues with these videos... like.. lots of these xmogs arent realy that desirable at all...

T 10 fine, it is great but the armor sets after were horrible. challenge mode dk is awesome, class hall was ugly. blue hidden transmog is good and is great with the mythic nighthold set. The Amirdrassil Set has some clipping issues and the purple parts are ruining the set for me

Well maybe I'm not a real DK because the only set on here that I've farmed for that I think looked good is the Nighthold set. All the other sets are mediocre at best. I guess number 3 is ok and the weapon tmogs are whatever. I will say, I just skimmed through because I expected trash so I didnt listen to whatever reasons had to be pulled from the back of the top shelf to justify them.
Even as someone that got the majority of the Mage Tower weapons that I wanted, does it really matter? As long as they can balance the mode well enough to be challenging. I have my achievement from back then if I really wanted to showcase prestige.
If you want the stuff than play when they have things you will want. If you cared enough you would have been a part of the experience. It's a souvenir. everyone has souvenirs from there time in the game. When you equip your experiences other people who also have fondness for these events share there stories and connect. Special events should have special rewards. People talk about being lonely and can't see through greed and jealousy.

I did the farm for Shadowmourne back when I mained DK, but I can't say I've ever used it as a transmog as it just looks a bit rubbish these days xD
Risen Nightmare is the best DK set in the game, and I cannot be convinced otherwise at the moment.

For #2, the other sets are actually remakes of Black Temple armor. Sunwell was technically T6, but it had different armor.
For DK it was a remake of lvl 55 starting gear

You can mog 2 handers into the frost weps and it will appear as dual wielding even though you're using a 2 handed.

My main Frost DK has Mythic Nighthold + Blades of the Fallen Prince since 2019.

Back in ICC, there were only 3 tier sets because the 25man normal and 10man Heroic loot tables were the same.

for me, the upgrade to the starter set in the DK levelling zone is still the best armour set we have :)

The Legion Order Hall Set is sought after? it's been out for what a decade it's easy to get and i dont think i have ever seen anyone ever wear it.

i prefer the Castle Nathria plate set, is very cool for not shoulders gothic DK's.

Number 8 was not Blackrock foundry. That set you had on was from Highmaul. Black rock foundry had the cool looking molten armor set.

Where in timerunning is webbed saronite available? I can't find any references to it
its from a vendor, you can buy the set after you complete the landfall campaign
Well maybe I'm not a real DK because the only set on here that I've farmed for that I think looked good is the Nighthold set. All the other sets are mediocre at best. I guess number 3 is ok and the weapon tmogs are whatever. I will say, I just skimmed through because I expected trash so I didnt listen to whatever reasons had to be pulled from the back of the top shelf to justify them.

I disagree on returning the mage tower weapons.
Even as someone that got the majority of the Mage Tower weapons that I wanted, does it really matter? As long as they can balance the mode well enough to be challenging. I have my achievement from back then if I really wanted to showcase prestige.
If you want the stuff than play when they have things you will want. If you cared enough you would have been a part of the experience. It's a souvenir. everyone has souvenirs from there time in the game. When you equip your experiences other people who also have fondness for these events share there stories and connect. Special events should have special rewards. People talk about being lonely and can't see through greed and jealousy.
