Alli, what kinds of car parts are you looking for? I have some 50's and 60's stuff from Fords and Edsels mainly here in my shop in Central MN. Not a lot, but some stuff just sitting around. Don't really have a use. Was just gonna make wall hangers from parts, but if you're interested maybe we could make something work.
@@restoredbyalli Sorry for the delay. Looking through everything I just have some newer stuff from the 80's. Nothing fancy from the old cars. If I can get to a bin I have in a back building, I'll look there. Some older stuff in there, but not sure.
What a fabulous place. I love how they kept everything for so many decades. The fence with all the parts hanging, and the old old car section where my favs. Thanks
This video is the part of the universe where furniture flipping and classic cars converge!👍 I was actually shocked how many 50s' cars are still there. So many have sadly gone to the crusher by now.
I live near French Lake Auto and have been out there many times over the years. I currently restoring a 49 Willys pickup and have been able to find some much needed parts there. A couple weeks ago, I got the driver's door off the green Willys wagon (show at 9:43) and the passenger door from the gray Willys wagon (shown at 12:26).
I see cars in the junkyard that still have plates on them! In our state you are suppose to return the plates to the RMV or your insurance company after selling or junking the vehicle!
When I lived in Massachusetts it was like that there. Here in Colorado they don’t care. I build rat rods and old car tags are handy in construction and rust repair
Cool video! Not sure how much those parts might cost, but I could totally see you using some to make a toddler car bed for boy or girl. The hub cabs, the headlights, and other parts!
I used to go there occasionally in the mid 90s. Has a lot of the yard been cleared out ?? Seemed I recall there was a lot more there but then there were several areas separated by some woods and so on.
A few years ago they cleared the southeast hill that held all of the cool stuff. The whole atmosphere changed at this place. It’s not what it used to be, but it still has some charm lol!
I used to tromp around there a lot 40 years ago getting parts for our high school cars.
That’s awesome
Same here used to live about 20 min away. Now about 3 hours so haven't been there in a few decades lol
One of the best junk yards, the huge range of years is what makes it great.
My buddy always said "French Lake is the largest in the country." I'm not sure if that's true....
Fun video. French Lake used to advertise in RatRod Magazine as they were also based in Minnesota. Beautiful state. A bit chilly in the winter
It does get a bit cold here

I was looking for old door handles to use for dresser drawer handles
@@restoredbyalli Ok. I'll see if I got anything that might be of your liking.

Hats off to French lake!

@@TheToolmanTim that’s awesome!
Hahaha, that's cool you can point out the parts you got. I like all those 1920's and 30's headlights around the grey Willys.

Nope in mn plate stays with the car at time of sale if you ask the scrap yard real nice they might let you keep the plate
I love French Lake auto! I've dropped off cars there and picked up parts. I wonder if they would sell license plates to collectors?

Even saw some model T Ford parts.
Yeah they had a little section of the really old parts
Didn’t see any airbags deployed in the cars
