Every time Mike does a junkyard vid and is intrigued by the 60s classics, I always imagine it would be fun to see him build one up with some jdm flair and use it as the “shop truck”/ towing rig.
I would absolutely love to restore an older muscle car / truck. Hopefully I can acquire a shop space, it's the main thing holding me back right now (Prices near Chicago are insanely high)
That eclipse is the 1.8l version. On the 1g eclipse If it had 4g63 2.0l the timing belt cover was to high. That is why they added that bump in the hood to clear the timing belt. At least that was the reason for 1g as some 1.8l had the flat hood. On the 2g if I remember correctly the bump was not needed but they added it anyway because it became so iconic. Man you should get on of these especially the 1ga (because popup headlights). They are so fun to drive and they have huge aftermarket support. But good luck finding a clean one.
@@PrizzaMikeyes but the 2g came with either a 1.8 like the one you saw a 2.0 or the 4g63. Gst and gsx are the turbo models. That convertible has a 2.4L not a 1.8; only some na 1g cars had the 1.8L. A na spyder (gs) has a 4g64. For 2g’s in the states, Rs and Gs have 2L 420a engines while gst and gsx have 2L turbo 4g63
@@PrizzaMike I found my rust free 2g in my state up in new England (Vermont) deep in the rust belt, mine was already fully built and was a really accurate fast and furious replica, the motor has receipts for a bunch of mods but I replaced it with a stock motor until I can get ARP head studs and a standalone fuel management system for it since it's a turbocharged N/a. It was clean just not stock, but I've converted it to mostly stock for now lol

There’s always too much to comment about and I don’t want to spam or write out a whole ass essay on why junkyards have some of the best content so I will instead just say thank you. I don’t have any real junkyards with a rich history anywhere near where I live.
In England the scrapyards normally stack the cars on top of eachother, before now I’ve climbed 4 cars up to grab the parts I need. Hearing your concern about this has made me doubt my previous decisions to climb in the rain 😅😂
So sad seeing a sonic yellow bugeye wrx in that junkyard. Definitely the most rare wrx color we got here in the states. The slicktops were actually the common option while the sunroofs were rare. Everything else about it is shared with a normal 02-03 wrx
Actually looks like a blaze yellow by the color of the bumpers mostly, but being that’s it’s faded and dirty, it’s hard to tell. Could just be a really faded sonic yellow.
@@waffle_chuter It is super hard to tell being all dirty and faded haha but as a previous SY bugeye owner, I can tell its SY. Blaze yellow has a lot more pastel to it. Also speaking of blaze yellow I am pretty sure blaze yellow is the most rare color instead of sonic yellow with about 500 to 1000 units if I remember correctly
Junkyard adventures are back baby!! It’s always appreciated to see interesting stuff in the junkyards. Today’s standards had made it impossible for cars to have interesting body lines; everything looks like a round brick, soulless, and has boring colors. I hope that with the increasing popularity of retro futurism people start appreciating this older car designs. #BringThePopUpsBack
I glanced a comments to see if anyone already said, but the 2 cars with rear motors and opposing plane pulleys were Chevrolet Corvair's. The Corvair was their first attempt at a rear engine car, long before the C8 Corvette.

This is what got me into your channel I was looking for junkyard videos and came saw you glad to see you came back to what I and many others first saw you do.
These junkyard videos are what i found you through 2 years ago, So happy to see another junkyard video because i would be going to junkyards watching your junkyard videos😅
The badge on the cabover truck at 8:16 is an International Harvester badge. IH is the old ollld make, these days they're mostly known as just International for their class 6-8 trucks.
It’s a bit confusing because I believe the company has been bought/merged/split several times but International “still makes” tractors under Case IH, Case is another old farm equipment company that bought IH
As a bugeye owner it’s sad to see one in the junkyard. They are pretty rare to see one in my area and even rarer to find one bone stock with a full stock interior.
My wife’s 1971 gremlin would be a ride you wouldn’t recognize lol. Now my 1992 JDM prelude is a different story. Missed these junkyard videos. Great stuff.
That bugeye wrx looks to be a sonic yellow (1/500) with a blaze yellow (1/450) front bumper. The fenders and all that are stock, the wagons have narrower fenders while the sedans have the box flares. The door cards are stock as well. The most interesting part about that car are the taillights, never seen any like those before
The bumper is probably still sonic yellow, sonic yellow fades really bad on the plastic bumpers, I’ve owned 4 different sonic yellows and all of the bumpers looked blaze yellow. They also made 1,500 sonic yellows
The flat faced truck had an IH badge for International. Side note, the box shaped SUV looking car that was a white/green was also an International, a Travelall. The M badge small car at the beginning was an early Morse Miner. The Triumphs you saw were probably late 70s Tr-7 models, known for their wedge shape. That Porsche was an 80s 944 that had a front V6 or V8 engine. Strange for a Porsch, a company known for mid-engine sports cars but now considered an affordable "Supercar" now, if you can count Porsches low end consumer model a supercar. You can find running models for under 10k and they have a real fan base in the US.

13:38 is an oddball. It’s a Mercury Capri from the late 80s/early 90s. An Australian built front wheel drive 2+2 convertible. It shared engine components with a Mazda 323. 22:53 is also a Mercury Capri, but for some reason they wrote “96 Capri” on it. 1994 was the last model year.

I love how the old pre 70s 80s american cars got patina instead of just rot. A european car can go from mint paint to major rot holes in no time.
the bump in the hood is for the cam gears to clear because they stick up above the hood line
LETS GOOO NEW JUNKYARD VID!
super cette visite dans une casse et voir tous ces vestiges d'un autre temps
Are you gonna cover more on the free 300ZX? Would love to see a video fixing the rotten rockers and giving the car a second chance! Big fan from the UK!
Love the junkyard vids!
no way!!!!!!!!!! a new junkyard video!!!!
