Ghost Inc. Mini Magazine extension device (+2 with included spring @ $20) combined with Pearce Grip PG-42+1 for $10 gets you a super slick and still uber compact 10 shooter (9+racked). Best upgrades for the money if you want a minimalist easy grabbin' 42. Super pairing with the Hogue Carry Holster if hip hugging.
That is a good suggestion, I have had good luck with the ETS 42 mags as well. I just don't like the way the x-grip feels. I have several 7 round ets mags with vicker's pinky extensions on them.
I have Taran Tactical +1 and +2 for the G43 and I am satisfied with it. The +1 adds minimal length and weight. Your videos got me wanting a G42 to add to my rotation. I have a P238 that is super small but I don't like shooting it.
I like the strike industries best of all because its an easy base plate swap out and the polymer pattern/grip texture matches the factory grip identically and they run flawlessly and the polymer doesn't get dented and scraped up like the alloy ones do when u have to do a mag drop. I have them on 4 of my mags with talon grips on them and love them. Great job strike industries and thanks for the video sir.
Good comparison video and with a good holster (with CLAW) will keep those extensions into the body. Can recommend VEDDER Holsters w/claw and Alabama Holsters for pocket. Carry only the the Underwood loads of the .380 Extreme Penetrator 90gr as I feel that gives me the barrier blind and penetration of a 9mm HP. FOR my G26, carry the Lehigh/Underwood 9mm Extreme Defenders (90gr) to prevent over penetration and again barrier blind.

I like the short grip with just the 6rds cause I pocket carry the G42. I also don’t trust the mag extensions in the G42, seen too much bad results from them. I carry a extra mag and or a 2nd pistol. 👍🏻😁
2nd pistol is the way to go, it’s basically a holster for your spare magazine haha. I get it though, I have one mag in my pile o mags reserved with the flush baseplate for those types of situations.
If I heard you right you said you put about 500 rounds thru the Strike +2 with no problems? That means you loaded that magazine with 8 rounds 62 times and it did not fail with the original mag spring. I've had Taran tactical +2 fail in a Glock 42 and had to replace the 10% extra power spring after a couple of hundred rounds. How long was this test done for? I've tried just about every extension out there for a G42 and the only ones I found to be 100% reliable are Taran +1 and that's because a stock 6 round flush mag has extra room in the mag which allows you to easily top off the mag so you can carry 6+1. The Taran +1 is just a little bit longer allowing for the 7th round without putting extra strain on the stock spring.
Im a glock fanboy own a bunch of them .however the 42 is out. Classed by rugers lcp max..... 10 rounds to 6, almost 5 oz. Lighter. My only grip about the max is cheap assed ruger gives you 1 mag.

You can get plus 2 springs from taran tactical. Not sure if they work with this but worth a shot. They are pretty cheap
He stated he doesn’t think it’s worth the price for the metal mag extensions. They are double + the price of any of the polymer extensions.

Correct, 500 through the both of them so guestimated 250 per mag. I just picked up a few more brands of extensions, just waiting on OEM mags.

No, the Glock 43 magazines are physically too large to fit in the grip of the Glock 42.

Last you buy the g42 cause its as small a glock as you can buy. And then you add size and weight to extend the mag. Stupid.
