Hi Ben and David. I wanted to share a tip I learned from a very frequent Disney cruiser. On the first day, have your lunch in the dining room! It's a bit more peaceful. And that's the only day they serve muffelettas! If you haven't tried one of those, be sure to add it to your to-do list next time!
Hi! Thanks so much for the tip! We'll definitely try having lunch in the dining room on the first day next time. And we'll make sure to add trying the muffulettas to our to-do list-sounds delicious! Appreciate you sharing this with us. Happy cruising!

Like many others who have commented, the Disney Magic was our first cruise experience back in 2015. It was truly magical and we were hooked. Since that first cruise, we've sailed on every Disney ship (except the Wonder) and several other contemporary cruise lines. We continue to be impressed by the level of service and quality of food and entertainment that Disney ships provide to their passengers.
Congratulations on your anniversary. It's great to watch the two of you reminisce about one of the happiest day of your lives. Another 10 and another 10....to infinity and beyond.
We are taking our kids on our first ever cruise aboard the magic this fall and we have started watching videos about the cruise with our six year old to prepare him. For the last few days he has been obsessively watching your videos of the magic along with multiple others. He woke up yesterday morning asking to watch cruise videos. You seem to have acquired a dedicated fan. He proclaimed he wants to go on every cruise ship there is and is already planning a birthday cruise for himself!
That's fantastic to hear! The Disney Magic is a wonderful ship, and we're sure your family will have an amazing time. It sounds like you've got a future cruise enthusiast on your hands! 🚢✨
As a childfree by choice person, the kids weren’t any issue on our Disney cruise :) it was a couple of adults haha but seriously the kids were great. They have almost a whole floor to themselves and we were never once bothered:)
Would you ever do more content of you both travelling either side of cruises? Showing us the journey to the port is really interesting and you’re both very entertaining! Your stuff in NYC was great too!
Just like yourselves Ben & David, my wife and I, took our children on our first ever cruise on the Disney Magic, followed a year later by the Disney Wonder, around 20 years ago and to this day, both ships hold a place in our hearts.
Icebox pie is called that because back in the early 1900's most United States farmhouses did not have electricity or refrigeration. They would keep things they needed to be cold in an icebox (literally a cupboard with a tray at the top that held a block of ice and shelves below where you could store milk, pies, etc). Icebox pies are no bake pies so they were especially popular during the summer months. There are many varieties but most feature fruits that would have been easily available during the summer like lemons or strawberries. That lemon looked delicious. I can't wait to sail on Disney!
I’ll have you both know that I’m writing this from my very first cruise - which I booked thanks to you two! ☺️(We’re on the Viking Saturn - Into the Midnight Sun). We’re definitely among the youngest here, but have loved every minute of it. Thank you both for helping us sign up for this adventure! 🩷🤸🚢🌊🫶
If you have booked a veranda cabin go to guest services and have them reassign your room, or refund the difference since an Ocean view is cheaper than a veranda. Or have them upgrade you to concierge or a 50% off future cruise. This has happened before and if you just accept it you are the ones losing money. ❤
I can’t believe they didn’t even say a word to guest services compared to the amount of complaining they did about their last cabin. To get assigned the completely wrong category and not say a word is insane to me.
@@kathleenyoshida8170Thank you for correcting that. I guess after taking a zillion cruises, it's easy to press the wrong button when ordering your cruise.😅

Your channel has helped, my wife and I watched you both for ages and decided to take our 1st cruise last December and loved every second, so thank you guys for being 2 of the people who inspired us to try cruising.
How great would it be to see Ben and David do a road trip across the USA. Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica? You could stop off at all the little tacky tourist stops plus Vegas, Grand Canyon etc. I’d watch!
@@Cruisewith My husband and I did. Route 66 doesn't go straight through. In several locations you leave 66 because the road isn't maintained since alternate and faster routes were built. Still a nice ride just not what you might be expecting.
@@debrajaynes6487agree to disagree. A Route 66 road trip is more about the journey than spending every mile on the road itself. You are correct that there are parts you can cut around on newer roads, but the heart and soul of the road is still there in seeking out roadside attractions, eating at some “greasy spoons” and sharing the experience of cruising parts of America that most don’t get to see. I wasn’t sure if it was because this was my first cruise, but you guys have done WAY more cruises than me and confirmed my beliefs. This is truly a special ship❤️🚢
I was in radio in 1998 and was lucky to go on the inaugural cruise of the Magic. We were there when she pulled into the dock at Canaveral for the first time. It was a cruise for radio, TV and celebrity guests, not open to the public. Don’t know if they’re still there but the aft funnels used to have 2 radio studios in them and we did our shows from there. I was fortunate to do 5 such cruises over the years and they all have special memories, so I totally get your love of the ship.
Hi Ben and David, it’s Louise - I’ve been looking forward to your Vlog/video most of the week as I’ve had the worst week with my advanced secondary progressive sclerosis and lupus ~ as the weather gets warmer the multiple sclerosis gets worse ~ but when I saw tonight it was an hour plus Vlog/video. I had my medication about half an hour ago so now I’m gonna settle down and watch - once again, thank you for your hard work in putting these Vlog/videos together and sharing them with me - I hope you’ve had a good weekend and I hope you have a great week - sending loads of love and loads of hugs to you both ~ Xxx Xxx
$3k for 3 day sailing in an Ocean View is wild. I’ve always wanted to go on Disney, but when it comes down to booking I’m always like “I could go on 2-3 other cruises for this price.”
if people are still willing to pay it, and they're still sailing full, they aren't gonna make the prices more reasonable. Same with the parks - the pricing is as high as the market will bear.
We lucked into a Disney cruise when our kids were 6 and 8. It was in late August and US schools were back in session and we used a bunch of reward miles. It was sooooo amazing, the kids loved it and so did we. Well, we looked to try again in a couple of years, and then EVERY year thereafter. We never went as it was so crazy expensive. Like $8000 for 4 people for a week in an inside cabin in the summer. We would have to add international airfare plus time at Disney itself, etc. etc. it was just not anything we could justify as a middle class family. I wondered so many times who pays that much and fills the boats.
Disney is expensive; however, this cruise in particular, was even pricier because it was the preview cruise to Disney’s new island destination, so it had premium pricing. Also, 3N Disney cruises are generally more expensive per night than a 4 or 5 night.
@@carpediem6431 Things are changing. My nieces family went to DisneyWorld in Florida a month ago. 15 minute line wait for the most popular rides that usually take over an hour wait.
@@laurapalmieri1711 That makes so much more sense - thanks for pointing that out! I was shocked at the price because I paid that much per night for a corner aft excel suite on Mardi Gras with the wraparound balcony and hot tub, lol. I was trying to figure out why this Disney cruise would be SO expensive!
I have cruised with Disney. You just can’t beat them. You pay more but it is so worth it. I have been on other cruises and was so disappointed. Disney will spoil you for future cruises.
Been on several cruises and just did the Magic this past March, and it immediately became my favorite. Like you both said, the feel of this grand old ship is nothing like the 'budget-Vegas' feel of the more modern ships of other cruise lines. Yes, they are pricey, but I've found them worth it. Disney knows how to make you feel special on these cruises. Also, there is nothing like seeing your children light up when they see a character. This ship has the perfect name.
Bit of Port Everglades inside info for you: the entrance driveway for Terminals 2 (Princess) and 4 (Disney) is north of the North Gate (entering from 17th St. instead of I-595 or SR 84)) and therefore no need to go through gate security or show any ID's. You can just pull into the new parking garage or drop of passengers at terminal. We live here and cruise mostly Princess, so we know this to be a 100% fact.
I love all the wood trim everywhere. This really is a classic looking cruise ship. I'd probably have called for housekeeping to get the cabin re-cleaned which I'm sure they'd have done while you were out and about. That was always something I loved was coming back and finding my cabin refreshed and it never mattered what time I left. Even if I came back unexpectedly, I never once caught anyone working on the cabin. It was like they watched the hallways or something and knew when you were coming.
I have always respected your reviews as truly honest and independent. I've only been on 4 cruises, all Disney, and The Magic was my first as well back when it was fairly new. I honestly feel like I'm spoiled (or spoilt as Brits say) for any other cruise line. When people ask me why I keep spending so much more than other cruise lines and go with Disney, I tell them the various things which are included with your cruise, and that in the end, Disney is well known as the absolute kings of customer service. If I'm gonna spend so much money, I really want to know that if I have a problem, it will not continue to be a problem. Thank you again for your honesty and all the content, I for one certainly appreciate it.
A drive from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale is NOT a road trip. Take it from someone who has driven from Chicago to Orlando -- and back -- half a dozen times. In the UK, 100 miles is a long journey. In the US, 100 years is a long time.
My royal caribbean junior suite was dirty this fall, and the fridge didn't work at all. When we told the room attendant, they just offered us an ice bucket. I would have asked for this room to be recleaned, Disney would have happily taken care of it for you.
From what I’ve seen (other than the dirty cabin,) Disney is worth the luxury price tag for the amount of stuff you get and the overall attention to detail. I’d love to cruise with them one day
I find it amazing people are giving the guys advice on how to handle the problems they have on board. You do realise these gentlemen have cruised over 100 times. I am sure they know exactly how to handle any situation or problems they may encounter. 😂
Having been in the travel industry for many decades, cruising is my least favorite. That being said, I love your channel, your delightful perspective, and your positive energy. This is what life is about!
Happy Belated Anniversary! Love y’all so much! My husband and I watch your videos all the time ! My husband enjoys them as much as I do ! We just celebrated our 25th anniversary on July 31 !
Happy anniversary, Ben and David. Sending California wishes for much love and happiness. That ship does look lovely. I agree with you, the nautical, traditional design is better than the glitzy modern ones. Great video.
I so look forward to your video on a Sunday . As I have long term health problems that means I’m bedbound a lot of the time , little things mean a lot and this video really cheered me up guys 😂 You both make me laugh and the excited energy you project is fabulous! 😜. Has to be said though , the dust for any price isn’t on let alone for that price . Hope it was all sorted and didn’t ruin the experience. ❤
I’m not a cruiser but I still love your videos…I love the honesty, the charm of you two, and the hilarity. Oh yes, the hilarity. You are superbly human and utterly loveable.
I watch alot of bloggers ( I try to stay informed) and I've watched most of your adventures. You're the first bloggers that answered my question about Landry on a ship. Thanks
We love the Magic, too! Our first cruises were on the Magic and we also did a Transatlantic on her. Thanks for your great videos, and especially this one! And Happy Anniversary!
Oh my goodness! Like you both, I have cruised on numerous ships, and hands down, the Disney Magic is the best! I've taken my six grandchildren, two by two, when they reached ages 7 and 5. I've also cruised on Disney ships Majic and Wonder with just my adult daughter and myself. It was such a great experience! They really monitor the adults-only spaces, which made it so peaceful. I agree 100% with your choice! Love you both!
You are both very careful eaters, never a drop on your shirts. Love your videos. We don’t cruise since we are afraid of getting Covid. How have you avoided getting Covid. What a treat to watch all your videos. Happy cruising
We were on the Disney Magic, a cruise from Brisbane to Sydney and back. I've cruised many times before, but it was my fiancee's first. We loved the ship, too. Even though we had an inside cabin, it was spacious and comfortable. My worries about traveling with several million little kids were quickly put at ease. One of the first things we noticed was the way the ship was maintained. Unlike Disney World in Orlando, it was spotless. Unfortunately, the theme park does not meet Walt and Roy's standards. One detail I loved about the ship that made me feel right at home was the light fixtures in the hallways. I bought a dozen fixtures years ago when Disney redecorated one of their hotels. They're being used in all three of our homes.
Ben and David are so nice and so funny! They were nice to me on this cruise even though I kept talking about my British grandma to them 😅😅 if you ever get the chance to meet them, you’ll meet some lovely lovely human beings! Cheers 🍻
I always love your honest reviews and you both are so entertaining. In regards to the lack of cleanininess in your cabin. I am a former house keeper for 4 star hotel. Every room has a time allowance for cleaning, 5 minutes for everything and 10 minutes in between change of customer. I would assume similar time restrictions would apply to cruise ships. The dust is a result of multiple weeks of not dusting. Your cabin either was not vacuumed at all or they have only vacuumed the area people would be walking and not done it properly. The company is too focused on turning these boats for maximum profit and employees are cutting many corners. The turn around really should be a day to ensure proper cleaning and maintenance.
The dirty cabin happened to one of our group on the Wish. Turns out the cabin was missed by the cleaning crew and Disney came immediately to clean and were very apologetic. Can’t beat the customer service they provide.
Another great video thank you both, just a tip re the Air con in the hire car, the air con going off with the engine stop start is normal I’m afraid just more noticeable in hot countries when you rely on it more, next time you hire a car try and locate the button to de activate the stop start each time you try the car this will keep the air con on all the time 👍🏻
Love your guys attitude. I would be fuming if I was paying 1k a night for such a dirty cabin. That is something you would expect at a motel not on a Disney cruise.
The Magic is our favorite ship and was our first Disney cruise too. It's so hard to believe she's 26 years old, it is so well maintained. We just love the Magic. We can't wait to sail on her again. Very surprised your stateroom was not clean.. We were on the last cruise before she went into dry dock in 2023, which was when the lounge was updated.
Wonderful, fun, entertaining video. Surprised you didn’t let the customer services people know you were assigned the wrong cabin… Always enjoy your adventures and misadventures 😉
We were on the Magic after the dry dock in May 2023- which is when they added the Soul Cat Lounge, converted some rooms to concierge, and some other small changes and the ship was not ready then. The AC was not working on the ship, and peoples rooms were flooding, so we were hesitant to go back again. However, we recently spent 2 weeks (a B2B) on the Magic in April/May this year and it is crazy the improvement we saw between the year. That being said, we did notice the room steward was not as on top of things as they usually are. When we spoke to our steward, they said that Disney had been sending a lot of people home early, due to the new ship prep for when they come back (a lot of the Magic Staff is getting sent to the Adventure and Treasure). Regardless, the state of your room is unacceptable and hopefully Disney figures things out to ensure rooms are clean and crew is not overworked.
That dust and especially the filthy carpet is surprising at 1000.00 per night. Yuk. I hope they clean it and that you get some credit for not getting the balcony. Love this video. Thanks.
I find it sweet watching your happiness over this trip even if the cabin was dirty and a few other wonky things. Hopefully my first cruise will hold such memories. I can't wait to watch your actual 10th wedding anniversary video!
It actually isn’t a hair dryer (the one on the wall); my stateroom host on the Magic explained it is a mirror defogger! You’re supposed to use it to clear any steam from your shower :)
I probably won’t do a Disney Cruise again because I’m an empty nester and I cruise solo. The price for double occupancy would be a bit much. However, I took my son when he was about 5 and I will always have those memories of him meeting all the characters and going to the shows. I can still remember that one of the characters pulled him aside suddenly to play shuffleboard outside on the deck. And the way the rotating dinners were presented was also amazing.
And as far as the Dunkins goes, that began as a donut shop in Quincy, Massachusetts (my Dad's birthplace) and grew into a large business with a slogan of "America Runs On Dunkins". When I was growing up there were shops 1/4 mile from my home in each direction!
The cost is wild but you can still find lower prices on Disney than $1,000 a night. We just cruised the Magic in February for a 5 night to Cozumel and Progreso and for me, my husband and daughter our total (before gratuities) was $2,400. We did this through a guaranteed interior room. The room was great for us and I recommend it for anyone who wants to try Disney but cost is an issue.

@@peiginthecityDon’t think he will. It’s the Geordie dialect pronunciation of favourite.
And when David said 'muriel' for mural! That brought back very fond memories of my late grandmother that called them muriel too!
We counted 10 Fravorites in the first 30 min. New drinking game lol. Love these videos.
@chron123 OMGGGG, Meeeee tooooo! I officially changed my pronunciation of the word favorite! 😂 Only saying Fravourite for the rest of my life! 😄
Not offering 'free' Disney Plus on a $1000 plus a night cruise is outrageous. Would cost them nothing - it's cheap.
To cruise on a ship with mostly children on it would be my absolute nightmare 😂
And I’m a senior and feel the opposite. 🤷🏼♀️
Hard agree but I think Disney does a decent job of segregating them in a way that's fun for everyone haha
As a childfree by choice person, the kids weren’t any issue on our Disney cruise :) it was a couple of adults haha but seriously the kids were great. They have almost a whole floor to themselves and we were never once bothered:)
Absolutely! FILTHY ROOM FOR $1000. a night? NO WAY. I would not stay in a dirty room at any price.
Would you ever do more content of you both travelling either side of cruises? Showing us the journey to the port is really interesting and you’re both very entertaining! Your stuff in NYC was great too!
That’s a wonderful suggestion. They also did a great video of their trip on the Caledonian Sleeper. Wish they’d do a repeat of that sort.
Yes, I rarely see videos about what to expect on ports.
Your telling all the secrets!! We love the Magic and her crew! They truly are the very best.
Congrats on your anniversary! I can't imagine either of you without the other, you were clearly fated for each other! ❤
The Magic is without doubt our favourite cruise ship. She’s a wonderful ship. The crew, the food, the service - all top notch.
Doesn’t sound like it from this review
This was so sad to watch you two - big hugs and don’t even THINK about coming back in 10 years!
The staff member running out to wave at you @11:11 😂😂
I commented this then I realized you already have 😂❤ Great minds think alike 😊
@ True 🥰
If you have booked a veranda cabin go to guest services and have them reassign your room, or refund the difference since an Ocean view is cheaper than a veranda. Or have them upgrade you to concierge or a 50% off future cruise. This has happened before and if you just accept it you are the ones losing money. ❤
I can’t believe they didn’t even say a word to guest services compared to the amount of complaining they did about their last cabin. To get assigned the completely wrong category and not say a word is insane to me.
Further in the video Ben checked and said he had booked the ocean view cabin and not the veranda. So nothing for Disney to correct.
18:03 He mistakenly booked a deluxe oceanview stateroom.
@@kathleenyoshida8170Thank you for correcting that. I guess after taking a zillion cruises, it's easy to press the wrong button when ordering your cruise.😅
Aww, congratulations on your anniversary guys.🎉🥂💐💕
It was so sweet seeing Ben get emotional.
I hope that the rest of this cruise was as memorable as your first.
Hugs!💜
Your channel has helped, my wife and I watched you both for ages and decided to take our 1st cruise last December and loved every second, so thank you guys for being 2 of the people who inspired us to try cruising.
H20 closed their business, and Disney brought the formula for all its products.
Thanks for the info.
How great would it be to see Ben and David do a road trip across the USA. Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica? You could stop off at all the little tacky tourist stops plus Vegas, Grand Canyon etc. I’d watch!
We have always wanted to do it
@@Cruisewith My husband and I did.
@@arh1234 I disagree. I wouldn’t sell the boys short. I think they could fit in anywhere including doing a tour of the kitschy roadway landmarks and the diversions along the way.
I was really pleased.
Wishing you a better week 😍
I hope and pray that things get better for you. ❤❤ 🙏🙏
Love that the staff are friendly one was waving at the camera in the background as Ben walked down the hall 😂❤ 11:05
Happy Belated Anniversary! Love y’all so much! My husband and I watch your videos all the time ! My husband enjoys them as much as I do !
My favorite ship is always the one I’m on. ❤
I am shocked at how dirty that cabin was. It makes you wonder what else they didn’t really clean?
With current cruise prices it’s not necessarily the most expensive anymore. 😮
A drive from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale is NOT a road trip.
Take it from someone who has driven from Chicago to Orlando -- and back -- half a dozen times.
In the UK, 100 miles is a long journey. In the US, 100 years is a long time.
It’s so endearing when you two mispronounce some of your words with your cute accents.
I feel like it's more for other commentors to see rather than Ben & David, some good tips in the comments section about what to do in this situation.
You can forgive an average location when the food is excellent. It’s that sensory memory of food and emotion that will bring you back every time.
Congratulations on 10 years. Wishing you many more.
Many many thanks
Ours was the Disney Wonder, so many years ago. Very special in our hearts…..
Having been in the travel industry for many decades, cruising is my least favorite. That being said, I love your channel, your delightful perspective, and your positive energy. This is what life is about!
My wife would be pleased it's your favorite. She was opening crew of the magic in 1998. It was also our honeymoon ship
That's amazing! . It’s such a special connection to have with the ship.
I love fruit on green salads. Apples, strawberries, peaches, mandarin oranges, nectarine. I find it brightens the bite😊
Happy Belated Anniversary! Love y’all so much! My husband and I watch your videos all the time ! My husband enjoys them as much as I do ! We just celebrated our 25th anniversary on July 31 !
I had the Cove Balcony on that ship, 15 years go, it retailed for $6,000 for the 7 night cruise, though working at Disney, I got it single for $1,000.
The insides were at $5,000 too.
The thing is, Disney has always = Luxury Cruise/Resort pricing.
The marshmallowy stuff on top of lemon pie is meringue :)
I watch alot of bloggers ( I try to stay informed) and I've watched most of your adventures. You're the first bloggers that answered my question about Landry on a ship.
Thanks
I LOVE the Disney Magic. My wife and I got married in Rapunzel's Royal Table last September. I'm so excited that you're both on the Magic.
Wow congradulations!
Ten years is amazing!❤️ Let me know next time you sail into Portland Maine & I’ll be honored to renew your vows at the Lighthouse!❤️
3 hours does not qualify for a road trip in America, but, I'll give you guys a break since it's your first time 😆
3 hours is definitely a road trip depending on what part of the country you’re in 🤨

Disney would be hell for me. I’m a Virgin Voyages Cruiser. No kids!
I stay in the adults only sections, so that’s not an issue. I would like to try Virgin at some point.

Cheers 🍻
Thanks for saying hi! It was lovely chatting to you on boarding day and talking about your grandma and her british sayings! 😂
It wasn’t missed by the “cleaning crew” it wasn’t cleaned right that’s just an excuse
Thank you for hardwork. Im disgusted how dirty the room was. You were so humble x

I'm surprised that the room wasn't immaculate. At least you know that they'll make it right for you. Love your videos. Thanks!
Ben forgot he booked a deluxe oceanview stateroom. 18:03
Thanks.
18:03 He mistakenly booked a deluxe oceanview stateroom.
Interesting. I didn't know that! Makes sense though.
Jackpot! Another Ben and David video!!
And as far as the Dunkins goes, that began as a donut shop in Quincy, Massachusetts (my Dad's birthplace) and grew into a large business with a slogan of "America Runs On Dunkins". When I was growing up there were shops 1/4 mile from my home in each direction!
Unacceptable for Disney to charge $1000/night and be given the wrong cabin type (no balcony) and to add insult to injury, the cabin is dirty.
18:03 He mistakenly booked a deluxe oceanview stateroom.
Growing up my Grandmother used to make me lemon ice box pie! I’m glad David enjoyed it, brought back many memories.
Yes, I wouldn't be happy if my cabin was dirty.
The ice box pie you had was Key Lime pie. Its a cold pie made with the juice of key limes and egg youlks. The topping is whipped cream. Its my fave.
"Never heard of an icebox pie" David you made me laugh! I guess it's a very regional thing but my grandma made about 10 different kinds of icebox pie.
