Listening to Aaron deconstructing a fragrance is like watching a detective piece clues together to catch the master criminal. In this case the criminal is a master perfumer. Great review Sir!
Butter. Butter. Butter. Beautiful. This is by far your best review, because as an artist you are honest about your personal preferences, but as a scientist you are honest about the scent’s construct/value.
I love this Givenchy . I definitely perceive the resemblance to DH Intense, due to its iris note but Gentleman EDP has more projection and longevity. Hours past the drydown feels very sweet to my taste but overall is a really superb signature scent and not worn by many people out there.
This is one of my favorites to wear in the bitter cold. I do wish the edges were rounded out a bit, but it still smells fantastic and we hike that’s smelled it on me loves it.
I also have Dior Parfum, and to me, its beautifully done leather and semi-soft animalic/oud notes make it feel high-class-perfect for special occasions like a fancy dinner. One bottle lasts ages, unless you're Bill Gates of course. It’s super powdery too. I used to spray it on my leather jacket in winter for the leather and oud-it was one of my first frags-and I even lightly sprayed it on my bed because I loved it so much. But over time the strong makeup bag-like powderiness made me feel like it was meant for peak fancy moments, not everyday use. It’s soft but definitely a loud fragrance. I’ve heard Givenchy is more of a cuddly scent, and now I’m curious about Dior Homme Intense (which I kinda forgot existed haha). I’m going to sample both and see which one is cozier/cuddlier, and bed-spray-worthy. I just hope they make the cut. Parfum is beautiful ♡ but very situational imo
Great video. I blind bought a large bottle without first trying on my skin. Thought I really liked it as a winter fragrance because it seemed complex. When it dried down, it just kept on smelling too flowery and powder (Iris?) which was too much for me to handle. So, I gave it away.

whenever i wear this i feel like it's always out of place because it feels so elegant that i need to dress up to rock it, on dior homme intense because of the cacao i can wear it anytime i want
@@stormbyrd4652 2 hours projection, 5-6 hours longevity because it's a dryer, more powdery scent. It's like a more refined, office friendly, less sensual version of Valentino Uomo Intense...Or a creamier version of Valentino Uomo Noir Absolu
Lovely video, as usual. It is one of my two favourite fragrances.. And the other one is Dior Homme Intense! In my country it is really affordable and it is my Girlfriend's favourite. The performance is excellent, I can smell it's dark vanilla on clothes after weaks and on my skin it stays at least 10 hours. I really believe that there is nothing as good as this at it's price! (40$ for 100ml tester)
Edit: I believe my comment is for "the original" and not sure if they are different. Finally, I got this to try! It definitely holds up and the vanilla is yummy, not too sweet, which i prefer. I felt like there was an animalic top note musk or aldehyde that grabbed my attention and made this unique. Great fragrance!
I don’t spray this near my head ie neck back of neck. You can overpower yourself, it’s quite intense. I do a spray on each arm and one on the chest and you’re good to go. Lasts five to eight hours. Sometimes I’ll wake up the next day and still smell it on the skin.
I'm getting a sour/alcohol smell on the opening now. This happened to my bottle recently. I presumed that the mini heatwave in July damaged my juice. So I bought another bottle from All Beauty. But I'm getting the same sour/alcohol smell from the opening of the new one! The drydown seems fine though. But I used to love the opening of this. That sparkly, effervescent, spicy vanilla. Anyone else had the same experience with this getting a sour/alcohol opening?
If that's the EDP then I tried it yesterday and really didn't like it. Too sickly sweet like a blue ice slushy. Might give it another smell. Aaron if you get a chance to try Venetian Bergamot by Tom Ford I'd love to hear your take on it.
Have you smelled the silver label Givenchy Gentleman? The one you're reviewing today is Gentleman Givenchy (very confusing). Givenchy Gentleman was originally released in 1974, it has Patchouli and civet, think you'd enjoy reviewing it
@@RichMitch I have a mini of the original and it's as amazing as I remember it when my Dad wore it. The current "original " isn't bad at all and one should feel comfortable picking it up.
This is a fragrance with a very high concentration in naturals. Decanting the juice in a travel spray, its colour is getting close to apple juice or a malt whiskey.
I blind bought this and immediately thought Dior Homme Parfum when I sprayed it. I posted a review in a couple of Facebook frag groups. I was harshly reprimanded & criticized for saying it smells like DHP and really redundant to own both.
GIVENCHY is an under recognized house and this one really surprised me. Nice bottle and just enough difference to make it special. L'INTERDIT INTENSE is also a winner.
I like L'interdit & linderdit Intense really unusual with sesame seed note. Just sent Aaron some samples Linderdit included. Givenchy has some little gems.
