What strikes me more than anything with your fabulous reviews is how you exhibit not only your absolute expert status, but more importantly the love and passion for the art of scent creation in all of its various facets, not just concentrating on the scent itself, but the technical aspects of building the DNA and co-combining all the amazing elements that go into a complex scent structure that evolves over time. You thus enable me as a total bloody amateur to deeply appreciate the art of mining that depth of knowledge that goes into crafting these scents and which culminate into the total experience. Being older and having lived in the United States for the past 30+ years, but having come from Europe and having traveled across the Middle East and Central/ S-E Asia in the 1980/90's, I am always looking for those unique scents I experienced back then - which evoked the luxurious, deeply mysterious scent experiences that I so cherished during my trips without really knowing what I was smelling and why it so resonated so deeply with me. I really look forward to experiencing your line of creations as your passion for your work simply MUST translate very powerfully into scents that are totally unique. I got a sample of this a week ago and it was beast mode! I spray 2 times back of my hand and this stuff was projecting for like 4 hours. The opening didnt catch me much but the dry down it really shines. It is rich and spicy! Last long time on me and strong.

Almost every youtuber says it projects madly but I'm with you on this one, it doesn't project on my skin either but it definitely last long. Love the way it changes with time too.
It actually does project heavily. That’s one of the weirdest parts. Normally when you have such an oily fragrance like this it’s an immortal skin scent. But not this, somehow it fills the room while lasting all day. I genuinely don’t get how it works on a science level.
Same haha, end of the day it works different on everyones skin imo. For me it's the best preformance perfume out of my 15+ frag collection. And this is my most favourite savuage and I love it, will be rebuying it when it finishes.

@@arapaimagold8088 well they already sold out of the original batch, so hopefully this next one is equally potent. (Luckily) we aren’t talking about Creed. Dior keeps their batches pretty much identical unless they completely reformulate like they did with Homme 2020

Smells like the Yankee Candle named Midsummer's Night to me. That one of which always resembled Drakkar Noir, but a bit sweeter. Absolutely adore this scent.
This is how you give a balanced review. I like how Aaron acknowledged it's not for him because of personal preference and dod so without shitting on the fragrance or Dior. So much to be learned from his presentations. Excellent job.
Thanks for reviewing this, Aaron! I couldn't stand the astringent peppery note in Sauvage EDT but I liked the smoothness of the EDP almost enough to purchase it. Bleu de Chanel really tops it though for me. I also rather enjoy middle eastern perfumery. It transports me to a different place. I was pleasantly surprised when I first wore Lyric Man in the Australian summer. So on the basis of your review and that it's really quite different to what's come before I'm quite keen to get my nose on this now. Cheers mate!

Amazing review Aaron! I completely agree with you, because I also dislike that some people give negative reviews online before a fragrance is even released. I don't really understand why they do that 🤨 every fragrance has to be tested first not just judged by the notes it has in the description.
Went into Boots today to test this. It blew my socks off, so I treated myself. I am not a huge fan of the EDT, but this is on a whole new level. Great review as always Aaron!

Superb review, very informative. I smelled this fragrance for the first time last week, have a sample now. I didn't expect to like this so much as I'm not a big fan of it's predecessors but this does indeed smell great, I appreciate how Dior has created something so potentially divisive in their oh-so popular Sauvage line. I find this quite pricy but It really does smell of high quality & as ATH says it smells complete, like a lot of thought & effort went into it.

Me personally, I tend to gravitate towards the fragrances that people slam or hate on!! By doing this, I fell in love with Oudhs of all varieties, civet, castoreum and other notes that more or less put people off!! Had I listened to how the majority felt about perfumery, my olfactory Journey would be so limited and boxed in!! I love and appreciate all works of perfumery!! I'm not in his field, and i'm only moderately into fragrances, but i want to surround myself with people who think like him. plus, now i know pink pepper is used for cleanness + woodiness but not spiciness.
Really good listening to this Aaron. It articulates what was in my head mostly...minus the technical stuff which is your forte...but also felt heavy lavender accord. The drydown is where I appreciated it more. Beast mode. Also, your commentary around fragcomm spot on. It grates me too. Too many snowflakes and too many opinions out there with no substance.
As a middle easterner myself, You really hit the nail on the head with this one…I think this is the most accurate review of Elixir to date. I usually don’t like when reviews get too technical, but u do it in a pretty engaging way mate gotta hand it to you 👍🏼 Longevity is mad! on my wrist 48 hours with 2 showers and another perfume sprayed over it, no exaggeration! I think Elixir is a perfume meant to be smelt from its projection or its silage and 1-2 hours after spraying to get how lovely it is….when I smell it right off the skin especially at the beginning, it doesn’t smell that nice with the spice crowding itself through the ambroxan metallic vibes. Kinda like a dirty stain on a perfect clean white shirt….but when I am wearing it and I get whiffs of it, it is absolutely lovely! And quite addictive even! Cuz u kinda get that main Sauvage Pleasing Dna but with the spice in the background making it different and less boring (i mean I love how Sauvage smells, but I hate how “everywhere” it currently is)

Really good listening to this Aaron. It articulates what was in my head mostly...minus the technical stuff which is your forte...but also felt heavy lavender accord. The drydown is where I appreciated it more. Beast mode. Also, your commentary around fragcomm spot on. It grates me too. Too many snowflakes and too many opinions out there with no substance.
As a middle easterner myself, You really hit the nail on the head with this one…I think this is the most accurate review of Elixir to date. I usually don’t like when reviews get too technical, but u do it in a pretty engaging way mate gotta hand it to you 👍🏼
Longevity is mad! on my wrist 48 hours with 2 showers and another perfume sprayed over it, no exaggeration!
I think Elixir is a perfume meant to be smelt from its projection or its silage and 1-2 hours after spraying to get how lovely it is….when I smell it right off the skin especially at the beginning, it doesn’t smell that nice with the spice crowding itself through the ambroxan metallic vibes. Kinda like a dirty stain on a perfect clean white shirt….but when I am wearing it and I get whiffs of it, it is absolutely lovely! And quite addictive even! Cuz u kinda get that main Sauvage Pleasing Dna but with the spice in the background making it different and less boring (i mean I love how Sauvage smells, but I hate how “everywhere” it currently is)
Dam I'm in America. They OVERwear sauvage everywhere here as well...must be the whole world
