Your videos are a great inspiration and I've started playing aoe3 DE because of them! I just really wish you did a beginner kind of tutorial, your didactic is great! Thank you
Been really anticipating this one, thank you! Edit: I was just wondering why you don't go for torii gate, it gives you 1.6x xp for more shipments, a military building rickshaw, so saving that 170 wood for more shrines/yumi and 1 samurai to help out vs cav or take a couple of volleys which would save a musket or two. Ive been testing big shrine vs torii a lot lately and feel like torii just does more for you in the short term which is where japan has some problems.
I like to put the consulate on Dutch, send the consulate card as second shipment and age up with the big shrine (it gives 200 export). Then you can immediately send a bank wagon from your consulate when you are aged up.
For a civ that is naturally strong in booming with their shrines, I think getting the bank so early may be too greedy. Also, this means you'll spend 93 wood per shrine (so 18 more) so more shrine time on wood needed. Lastly, the shrines are flexible and can be rebuilt with ease. The bank lacks both properties.
@@FrederickWillemV Consulate + banks means a 0.75 + 2.75 = 3.50 gold trickle. Also after a minute or so you can send a curch wagon which gives a nice xp trickle. To compensate for this greedy strat your first two age 2 shipments must be 5 ashi/yumi. Itherwise you are to vulnerable to rushes.
is there a reason why you mainly use your shrines to produce coin? i personally prefer to produce food with them cause there are plenty of gold mines you can gather from, but once your cherries run out you either have to transition to rice fields or waste a shipment on additional cherry gardens. so it seems to me having your "16 vills" gather food instead of coin would be the better use, no?
thats late game, its a must if you get there, in DE old han was nerfed, but still worth it. hand mortars its a must to, always get at least 10 and no more that 25
It's not a bad idea, but we mainly want to use the daimyo to boost the attack of our ashigaru, we are not so worried about having our units there on time or not. It's important we ship 5 ashi as our third and fourth shipment so that we can increase our mass and ward off any potential pressure from the enemy.
Modt civs can ether stop it by a rush Or civs like durch or germans can harass and outmatch enemy in fortress age wirh superior stuff (mercs, ruyters, freehlans...)
I'm actually finding a speed buffed and poison buffed jungle bows to be quite effective for inca. Poison is indiscriminate. The speed helps them a ton and you can switch to chimu if they switch to skirms or something.

It can be quite difficult as India have difficulty vs heavy cannon / artillery spam. Your best bet is to go a combination of ghurka, zamburak and mixing sowar in the midgame, for the lategame, your best bet is to try and outmass them.
@ Aussie_Drongo, thx for your brilliant work and your infinite inspiration to players like me below elo 1600! Would you recommend your strat with Japan vs. Dutch too or should some special adaptations take place in this case?

There is an analysis: For British 10 mask need 750F + 250G / 30s,1 village need 100F / 25s. With market tech level 2, food rate = (50/60) *1.3 / 1s, gold rate =(36/60) * 1.3 / 1s, As a result, British only need [750/30/1.3/(50/60)+100/25/1.3/(50/60)]=27 village for Food; 250/30/1.3/(36/60)=11 village for Gold. Then, British can keep 10 mask and 1 village. it does not take long time to achieve this. In age 2, British has 2 card to +15% HP and +15% weapon. After those 2 card British mask will be powerful than Japan mask with lower cost. By the way, British bow is powerful than Japan bow, too. So, I think if British try to fight in age 2, Japan can not win so easy.
Hey Aussie! Thanks for these videos, definitely the best AOE3DE youtuber! I have a request, is there any way you could also make a simplified one view diagram for the build orders and time stamps for the expected result when you follow these build orders?
Hey Aussie, thank you for the nice video, very well executed BO. I especially like the balance of having a strong economy and applying pressure - with that amount of ashigarus u can smash the 2 falc timings or any strong age3 cav-shipments. Would you consider this BO as useful to defend against strong rushes? 600w at first might be too slow for that.
Hey Aussie, quality content as usual! I'm running out of expressions to praise you now :) It's a strategy that I've been using for a while and you cleared some of my doubts. I use to squeeze in the market but with your build, i realize the market is not that important. I'm happy you are showcasing some asian civs. I was just about to ask you before this video how do you deal with the default hotkeys. They require adaptation because the shrines for example is hotkey "E" whereas houses were "Q". For indians, I noticed it is "S".
When it comes to using default keys, it really takes a few games to adjust to them, my first game I kept bringing up the wonders when I wanted to build a house, but by the 10th game or so, I was very comfortable. Edit: also - market is definitely a viable choice to build with 600 wood and get the berry upgrades.

What is the reason of putting shines on hunts? Are they like trops and gather food? Or is it just so you can see if the enemy sets are gathering there/line of sight?
A shrine can attract up to 4 nearby animals, making them unable to be hunted by your opponent and increasing the trickle rate on your shrines by 0.07 per animal it has attracted.
I tried this and have to say it works quite well, especially because the crossbowmen you receive have +10% hp and attack, outclassing opposing crossbowmen. If you ship the 300 export shipment later, you can also switch to japan cheaply afterwards.
I tested this myself and found that the age up time for the number of villagers is 1:50 for 1 villager and 10 seconds less per additional villager (so long as they all start simultaneously)
@@FrederickWillemV So does this mean that adding an 8th villager is more efficient than adding a 7th one, as it adds less villager time for the same speedup?
I hate playing vs japan. It's like a ticking time bomb, the more you wait the more you likely to loose. It is so a passive civ yet put so much pressure on the opponent because of that time factor. It's just not a good healthy civ design for an RTS.
Play Iroquis and defeat them in less than 10 minutes... Russians devestate them as well. Its mid to late game civ, if you rush or outscale Japan, is an exepnsive xp piniata...
Japan is a naturally booming civ due to their shrines. That means it has a significant advantage against turtle strats. The best way to counter the japanese is by pressuring heavily and eliminating shrines, which prevents them from training troops. Make sure to keep building your own eco in the meantime if your all-in fails.
