This video has given me some much needed hope. Thank you for sharing this information. I'll get through the nausea, sooner hopefully than later.

Ever since a wee lad I've suffered greatly from motion sickness. As much as I love my Quest 2, I am very limited to the games I can play (basically Resi 4 on the motionless setting and SuperHot VR). The wonderful Tilt Brush and Bigscreen VR also make the Quest well worth the money. Looking forward to upgrading to the Quest 3.

    6:18 - Are you a demon from the movie Devil’s Advocate? 😈 JK, I know it’s your mic…I hope. 😉
This video is incredibly helpful. Thank you for the tips! I never used VR because it makes me crazy sick. But FPSs used to make me sick, I toughed through it and after a while the nausea stopped. This video gives me hope that I may be able do the same thing with VR. I now travel a LOT and VR may be the only solution if I want to use a large-monitor setup. Thank you!

My to is when you tell people to click on a card "up here" and point, perhaps make sure the card is actually there. I've watched 2 of your videos and you pointed to nothing both times.

I haven't done any demoing with VR even since the first Oculus Rift. The first VR headset I wore was probably King Kong Skull Island, unless there was some late 90s/early 2000s kit I got to try at Epcot a long time ago. I just haven't ever been interested in VR.
Well, within 10-15 minutes of me using my new Meta Quest 3 in a game environment- I got motion sickness.. and I never get motion sickness for anything. I actually got Doom3VR running with sidequest on the first attempt. And didn't make it past the checking where you see the little spider bot for the first time. Or in RE4 where you walk down that path into the Pueblo town... hope it doesn't stay like this or I'll be returning the thing for a refund.

Have always avoided "moving" in VR so I stuck to literally all the comfortable games you mentioned.
I think this is why MR is a huge deal for me. It's also the reason why I loved the upgrade to the quest 3.
Thanks for the tips, might battle motion sickness out soon enough (slowly but surely)

Great tips, however sometimes we need to know our limits and there will just be some VR experiences that I can't enjoy because of it triggering motion sickness. It is not a myth. For some it never goes away. I get motion sick from real roller coasters, so VR ones are also out. I get motion sick as a passenger in a car, that has never gone away. I do things to reduce it. The sailor at the end is wrong. Everyone is unique and some have more sensitive physiology. Motion sickness also is due to your brain trying to make sense of where you are spatially in your environment. Rollercoaster, planes, boats, VR are going to impact your brain's awareness and ability to cope with drastic changes in perceptions and sensations of motion. Usually, VR games with smooth locomotion using the thumbstick are not games I can play. If I can move in the real world or teleportation, then it's okay. The tunnel vision comfort setting doesn't help for me. I've tried the other tips you gave as well.

I am always getting high motion sickness from Half Life Alyx and HL mods but games like Into the Radius barely cause any discomfort. Only reason why I have not played Alyx more than the starting is because of the motion sickness.

Into the Radius wrecks me in about 10 minutes. Gonna try switching to teleport mode.
