- SEMA 2022 I spoke to ClearPlex by Madico, the world’s the world’s first and best-performing windshield protection film. ClearPlex is the original windshield protection film and the only film of its kind that has been awarded 3 U.S. patents.
Replacing your windshield can be very expensive putting windshield protection film could be one of the best investments for your car.

Seems like a great product. The most inexpensive approach is to call your insurance company and add windshield protection plan.
Good call. I wonder what the cost comparisons would be over time. Thank you for watching.
applied one of these films was nearly $300 from a competitor and a rock hit a week later cracking my windshield again, I don't think these films do much for a direct rock hit
Thank you for watching? Do you know which brand was used? I know they work but of course there's variables and nothing is bullet proof.
@@detailersgarage stek film was used, unfortunately yeah circumstances weren’t favorable this hit I think was a large piece of concrete or asphalt kicked up
@@christopherlister8932 I see. I had contacted Stek earlier this year to start doing windshield installs.. At the time they had pulled their windshield films off the market to revamp it. I wonder if this was the issue. Stek is know for amazing products for sure.Thank you for the information.
As an independent glass repair and headlight restoration tech, this looks like a profitable add on service. I fix a lot of chips, and my first one I did after my certification was a Tesla with a windshield replacement cost of $2400.00, kinda sweated that first job but the Glasweld equipment I employed helped me ace the repair. I'd like to look into the Clear Plex, seems to have merit..
Thank you for watching and your comments. Thats great stuff. How long did it take you to become proficient in the repairs? I looked into that as well, the tech behind it seems great. Just never went to the training. This is definitely a great option and worth the cost of protection. Yes Tesla after the repair of the glass is something like over $1500 to reprogram it. That's nuts.
@@detailersgarage Glasweld's certification course took me 5 days and aced the exam, I started repairing glass and took clients for a good 6 months putting myself and skills "out there" sweating every job but relied on my training and even modified a few things to fit each situation (which is different each time). The cert course is worth it but work in the field is better 4 sure. I still get challenged on some repairs and some fill but don't have the "disappear" effect I always strive for, but I am half the price of Safelite and save folks a lot of money.
@@papasquirrel5559 Thank you very much for the info. That's really awesome. I can understand sweating it out until it becomes second nature. Yes lots of money to be made and still giving amazing value and results. MTE is coming up soon, hopefully they will have a vendor or two for repairs I can connect with.
I appreciate it brother.
Stay safe
@@detailersgarage My pleasure, many blessings on your journey
@@papasquirrel5559 and yours as well Sir.
Omg this is awesome
Thank you for watching. Yes it is, and its legit! I was trying to use the Stek Windshield protection earlier this year but they pulled it off the market to revamp it. This product I was very impressed with. Going to be trying it out soon and will make a video and review for sure !
Does this cause any visibility issues on vehicles with a ‘Heads Up’ windshield display?
Great question! From what I was told it does not interfere with the heads up display. They also have a tinted film and I wonder if that would cause any issues. I am going to get a few sheets or a roll and mess around with it and I will ask more about this. Thank you.
This is the best product. I hae been using on tracks on different cars and it literally saved my windshield many times. One question though... can be "nano coated" by a nano ceramic coating as they are used to glass?
Thank you for watching and your question. I do not think you can do a glass coating prior to installing the film. I dont think a glass coating on top of the film would work either since it's designed to bond to glass not plastic. With that said a coating like HALO from Gtechniq might work since the windshield wrap is similar to ppf. But I don't think you will need to do that. If you install I would check with Madico before installing anything over the film.
Thank you
Pretty cool!
Yes good stuff. I was looking into STEKS windshield covering but they took it off the market at the time( last year). I haven't followed up with them but this seems to be a great one and long history of film they have. Thank you for watching!
Does it affect auto wipers? Moisture sensing?
Thank you for watching and your question. As long as the wipers are in good condition it should have not be an issue. and to my understanding no issues with the moisture sensors.
Can i order clearplex roll?
Yes but have to find a distributor which you can find on there web site. Thank you for watching.
This dude convinced me to shell out $600 for ClearPlex.
Yes he was great. You can also buy pre cut and not a roll to save up front costs until you learn how to become more efficient installer. ReadyFit

@Alex Cojocaru, other people who reviewed these windshield protection films on youtube have said the film becomes hazy cloudy and you cannot see out of the windshield after a year, so you must remove it and pay another 600 and apply it again. No thanks
@@alexcojocaru2547 but is he daily driving the 911 or is it only a weekend car and rarely driven? Most likely its garaged as well.
@@alexcojocaru2547 The Turbo S probably stays in a garage 2.75 of those 3 years....
where can we buy this clearplex by madico?
Thanks for watching. madico.com/distribution
@@detailersgarage actually upon further research here on youtube, what Im seeing from others who used these types of windshield protection films is they become hazy and cloudy and the driver cant see out the windshield in a year, and it has to be removed. Very short lived application. No thanks.
Nice, but I don’t want anything I can’t see 100% through
Unfortunately it is illegal to install on windshields in Florida and many other states.
Interesting, never knew that. The roads in florida are generally better than what we have in the Northeast. Thank you for watching and the information.
Any idea why?
@@yahtadi5152 Why it's illegal in Florida ? Maybe due to the heat it could swell up and become dangerous? If peels off the body not a major safety issue. Just my guess.
Don't waste your money on this! Had a terrible experience. There was a visible haze and blurry effect at night from headlights and other light sources. For over 1 month the installers went back and forth with Madico and they were claiming it was residual moisture! Absolute B.S. Madico asked for all kind of proof , pictures , videos etc . In the end i got it removed and i had Exoshield installed. Zero issues with haze even on the first night out despite it still having visible distortions from the moisture. 4 days later everything is gone. Never again a product by Madico!
Thank you for watching and the feedback. Wow, that's surprising to hear. Good to know, I will definitely look into the Exoshield! Merry Christmas and happy new year!
Where can I buy it
Thank you for watching, check out there website for distributors.
@3:40 random dude rudely walks in the demo knowing full well the presentation is being recorded 🤦
That aside as I like that they now have it with an IR tint in the film. My only concern is that it win interfere with some of the light sensors on cars that house those in the same location as the ADAS camera(s) location. An internal windshield tint would’ve been cut around that ADAS plastic housing against the windshield.
Where can I install it in LA?
Also asking 😂
Not sure. I would check on there web site to see if they have an installer list.
I want to see a truck coming at you at 70 mph and flips a rock at you from his tire
Absolutely, real impact in real life situations, no spring loaded impact gadget demonstrations.
