I'm running Virtus 1.5 since 2 years+ now. I have to say this is a no nonsense car for a person if they love driving. Points which I love about it : 1. Visual Design of the car. Makes it premium and looks amazing. 2. Headlights are great in night. 3. Driving posture for long drives are great. 4. DSG works flow less on highways and good city roads. 5. Love the handling. 6. The silence was is crazy good. 7. Boot space is very practical. 8. Infotainment UI is great. 9. Mileage on highway is superb - around 18 KM/L - 20 KM/L if you drive 80-100KM/H Points to consider : 1. Not a fan of the AC control. I always have to look at it. 2. Rear seats are best when 2 people are sitting. It's not great for 3 people but they can adjust. 3. DSG doesn't like bad road. It does a sudden downshift. 4. Mileage is around 6-8 km/L in city traffic.
as a 23-year-old, i had the opportunity to buy a car. i test-drove almost every car in the price range of the virtus 1.5L, but nothing came close(except cabin experience). i test-drove the virtus multiple times, got a great offer, and chose the 1.5L manual. oh man, it felt like the best decision i’ve ever made in my life. since then, i’ve been splitting my salary-prioritizing car expenses (fuel, fastag, maintenance) first and keeping the leftover money for myself. every time i take my car out after a long gap, like 15 days, i still get goosebumps. yes, the ac isn’t top-notch, the cabin isn’t premium, and the window operation feels squeaky. but who cares about those things when your body feels perfectly connected to the car? it does exactly what i think, places itself precisely where i want without any strain, holds up wherever it matters, and flies when i need it to. and karthick, that was a 10-minute poem, man. respect to you and your team for the amazing work.
what do you do as a 23 yr old in India to afford a 20 lakh car and take 15 day roadtrips at the same time, im curious and would like to indulge in the same.
These 10-minute videos are such a delight! They’re peaceful, engaging, and crafted with so much thought. Truly appreciate the effort you put into making such amazing content. Would love to see more of these videos more frequently-maybe one about the Maruti Swift and the story you guys could narrate for it? Lots of love to the entire team🥰🥰
There hasn't been a time when I see a Virtus on the road and I don't fall in love with its design. Idk what happens in my brain but I just love the design of Virtus
I've been driving the 1.0 Highline Manual for 20 months now. It has been behaving like a dream. I knew of the shortcomings while making the purchase but as soon as I took the test drive, my heart said, "chuck it!", and that was the end of the story for the whole car buying journey of mine. 33000 kms down the line, it has thrown zero niggles at me, and the experience has retained its excitement and freshness for me. The mileage in Mumbai (over around 4000 kms) was at 10-11 kmpl. Moving to Delhi, it has now gone up to 13- 14 kmpl. The service pack is a boon, zero cost incurred over two yearly services. Bonus for me has been the kind of ungodly speeds it holds with grace and composure that no other car south of 30 lakhs can possibly do. Absolutely cherish the car. I call mine Elsa, and she is definitely a beauty.
I have a VW Virtus 1.5 GT DSG. The car is amazing on highways, like Kartik said, it urges you to go faster and feels planted as well. However, it is really bad on slow speed roads. So if you have frequent speed bumps on the road or you are slowing down for potholes, the car will very quickly shift down to D1. This shift gives a jerk and then when you accelerate, the shift to D2 comes at around 2.5K RPM and that sounds like you are unnecessarily revving out the engine. You cannot manually shift the gear to D2 as well as in this case. Not a deal breaker but something to keep in mind. If you are taking a test drive, I would highly recommend to take it on a road where you know there are potholes or speed humps to make sure you know what it feels like.
Well, I'm driving 1.5L with DSG from quite some time now. When you continuously revv it hard at D1, it will take some time to move to D2. Same from D2 to D3. You should revv it for sometime and then give a pause. It will move to D2 automatically. The DSG is intelligent and works smartly.
Guess what? Even the Polo got slammed for a ton of things-small boot, cramped rear seats, plasticky interior, you name it. And now that it's gone, we're all left here wishing it would make a comeback! So cut us some slack and let us enthusiasts enjoy the ride without constantly being reminded that it's not some fancy, overpriced "premium" car. Let us have our fun without the judgment.
I couldn't agree more with Karthikeya's analysis - sedans truly excel on the road, offering a refined balance of comfort, performance, and style. However, even though I'm not traditionally a sedan person, my garage tells a different story with a 2024 Tata Safari, a crossover, and a 2024 Suzuki Jimny, a robust off-roader. I’ve always seen crossovers as the middle ground between sedans and SUVs - essentially, sedans with a station wagon silhouette. But I have to say, the Safari completely shatters any preconceived notions about crossovers being mere "blended" vehicles. It genuinely feels like a palace on wheels. The comfort is next-level. After a long, grueling 700-kilometer journey, I felt as though I’d just stepped out of a luxury lounge rather than a road trip. The cabin is spacious, the materials are top-notch, and the ergonomics are impeccable - you don’t even realize how much time you've spent on the road. It’s a vehicle built for long-distance drives, offering a level of relaxation that sedans and SUVs alike struggle to match. And then there’s the handling - absolutely amazing. While many might think a crossover's higher ground clearance would hinder its agility, the Safari defies expectations. Its handling around corners is sharp and responsive, giving you confidence even at higher speeds or on winding roads. There’s something deeply satisfying about how it tackles sharp turns with minimal body roll, making it feel more like a sedan than the towering SUV it technically is. Despite its size, it feels nimble and composed, almost as if it anticipates the road ahead. So, while I still appreciate the practicality and efficiency of a sedan, the crossover has truly won me over in terms of sheer comfort and driving pleasure. The Safari, in particular, has redefined my expectations of what a road trip can feel like. And when paired with the Jimny for off-road escapades, I feel like I’ve got the best of both worlds - a refined, long-distance cruiser and a rugged off-roading machine
You can say that but if you compare safari with sedans like verna, virtus, city. I have driven creta,Nexon ,scorpio, harrier but they are not agile or corners like verna, city, virtus
I have driven crossover and sedan still there is considerable difference in handling and stability so my pick is always sedna if one has to go in city and highway
Loved the video. As a virtus 1.5 GT owner with 30k on the odo would agree with most points you made. The car feels a part of you and talks to you on roads and ways best described by you. On your pros and cons: Sound system is pretty good in its segment except mahindra's and AC while not the best can handle upto 40 degrees. Biggest con is the 90's reverse camera. The pro of that is that i am still used to backing using side mirrors keeping my skills intact unlike the 360 degrees camera.;)
@@manishtalukdar4182 Hi, mileage is very heavily dependent on how you drive. In Bengaluru in stop start traffic I get between 10-12 and on highways at 18. Extreme traffic like silk board/saki naka will be around 8-10. I have DSG transmission
@@eleven01111 No dsg issues. It can feel a bit sluggish in extreme traffic but otherwise it's ok. Highways/regular traffic this is probably the best in terms of performance. If reliability is a concern take a Extended warranty and follow few basics for a longer life like 1) do not rev very high in 1st gear(drag races) 2) use genuine transmission oil at regular intervals 3) keep the gear at Neutral instead of D in long traffic stops
Well. Its Just a Sedan and it makes me feel young at heart and makes me smile inside out everytime i sit in my cockpit. Proud owner of a Virtus GT❤. Go for it!
These 10 min format videos are so good, I really like the editing and the story telling. More videos of this format will be appreciated. It would be nice to have this as well as the podcast version because this gives us summery of the vehicle, but really the true fun and the shumi - kartikeya jokes are enjoyable 😂👍🏻
Hey i would love see an entire podcast episode like motorinc first with you and schumi on both VW brands, their cars, philosophy and their strategies in our market.
@@ninaadnirgudkar7752 absolutely agree. These sedans making their own place in a SUV crazy market deserve the attention. What it gets right and where VW has scope to improve.
Based on my experience with its sibling (Slavia), 1.5 is a gem of an engine and has been reliable for over 74K KMs. Extended warranty just gives that peace of mind that Ihaven't even reached half way mark. Cost of maintenence is fantastic too with those service packages. Also, another reason to get the GT is cause Skoda doesnt offer 1.5 in manual anymore.
I have the 1.0 TC automatic, over 28k KM done, needed the automatic and 1.0 was the only option in budget. I have owned and driven (wagonR, i10, i20, altroz DCT) I found the Virtus's TC really good, it is smooth and nice, though it usually stays one gear lower than expected sometimes to give you that quick acceleration if required. It gives an average of 10-13kmpl in city, and 17-20 on highways depending on how light footed you are. The only niggle I faced is the driver side's window's automatic up/down function not working as expected. Also the AC is obviously below power but livable for my requirements. It is a bful car to look at and drive and it made me fall in love with sedans all over again.
Proud owner of Topline 1ltr Manual. Was waiting for this one from long time. I agree with the AC and interior but as rightly said Who cares. I love the driving experience. Done almost 22 k in 10 months and Virtus always ready and itching to go fast and long. Thank you for the video. Do more like these on VW cars.❤
driving a VW always bring a smile to my face! And for Virtus i think it just looks really great , it has a great road presence! Great review Kartikeya.
Hey Kartikeya, if you don't mind, can you share what are the reliability concerns connected with the Virtus 1.5? It's been 2 years since the car has launched and personally have not come across any major reliability issues, neither with the 1.5 EVO motor nor with the DSG with their updated mechatronics unit. It will be very helpful to know your concerns.
Hi SS, we have been asked by users repeatedly about TSIs and DCTs. While it isn’t a worry for us - it is for users. Hence, the recommendation to maximise the pleasure. Older DCTs had a bad rep. Super to have your feedback! How many kms now?
Perfectly summarised 👌Owner of a 1.5 Manual for the past year, I don’t regret putting 20 big ones on it. The car has soul, it puts a smile on my face whenever I drive it, it’s rock solid at high speeds and also pretty fuel efficient for the power on tap. Tip for the AC- always set it 2 degree cooler than one would set on other brands. Yes it’s definitely not for everyone but I’m definitely one for it.
I did have a QC issue at the start with the AC drain system leaking condensed water inside the car rather than outside leading to the floor board getting wet. ASC diagnosed it right but the rectification process was long and took a while before i got the car back. But they were methodical and didn’t leave anything loose as it involved removing the dash and putting it back. Touchwood no issues and rattles after that. Yet to do the annual service so I will update my feedback after that
Hi MotorInc, Thanks! Really enjoy watching your videos such good content with unbiased reviews. Specially the conversation between Kartikeya & Shumi. I test drove the Virtus GT and went ahead with purchasing the Slavia Sportline 1.5 DSG, only based on how it looks. After driving 4k KMs in 1.5 months, My Experience with Car have been amazing & rightly said who cares!! as long as you enjoy driving! My Observation: 1. The 1.5 TSI Engine in terms of tech is way ahead of the competition. And the DSG works like magic! 2. The Mileage depends on the driver. If you keep it under 80-100Kmph easily you can get 16-19kmpl. 3. The Handling of the car is really amazing feels rock solid at any speeds and always feels i have control on the car. 4. Build quality is excellent for the metal used and paint quality are commendable. once you enter the car you feel very safe. 4. Very comfortable for 4 ppl not for 5 onboard though. 5. The Cabin experience is just as average since the plastics are not of good quality. And there are rattling issues but not very annoying. 6. Music system is good but not as good as the competition. I did my research and went ahead with VW-Skoda product since they offer a value for money product in terms of build quality, engine & gearbox technology they offer, as compared to the market which they offer with all the fancy feature which you won't use as the time passes. If you plan to purchase the Virtus GT please have a look at Slavia which has launched Monte Carlo & Sportline version they look beautiful, sportier and cheaper than Virtus by 1L (Bengaluru).
I was in market for best drivers car under 25l. Got GT plus sport DSG last month. I am in love with it and it really makes my heart sing❤. Mileage is surprisingly good like >10 in city whereas my expectations was 6-7. Upgraded the tyre to pilot sport after 1000km and really happy with a slightly better drive. But I am not who cares type of person and sometimes thinks charge 1lakh extra and make the interior quality/camera better.AC is okay in Bangalore weather. The auto start stop system is very irritating. Even my forat service experience was not that good. SA was not listening to my problems and pitching for ceramic coating for already coated car😂
These motorinc views are like reading a well articulated & researched article. They are a breath of fresh air in the sea of reviews where people just read out the brochure. Excellent review of a great sedan.
I had initially planned to purchase the XUV700 AX5 variant, but after test-driving the Virtus GT, my perspective completely changed. The driving dynamics and braking performance of the Virtus GT are genuinely unmatched. Its 1.5-liter turbocharged engine is nothing short of exceptional, offering remarkable refinement and power. The overall driving experience was so impressive that it made me reconsider my earlier choice. This car truly sets a new benchmark in its segment 😊
Amidst all the crossovers (mini, compact, micro), it’s great to see a sedan that will for sure age well. VW service being the only unknown here, the car will be a delight for owners. However, something that still doesn’t sit well with me are the interior plastics and the AC. An MG ZS (Astor) has a superior experience given it has access to same VW parts bin. And about the AC, I’ve a friend who drives a Slavia who keeps cribbing about how long it takes for the AC to cool the cabin. Just hope it’s sorted soon enough.
I bought the 1.5 GT DSG Highline in mid-September 2024. Changed the tyres to Michelin Primacy 4 215/60, which made the ride & handling much better - so highly recommended. No rattles or any problem except for the infotainment system that hung for a short duration a couple of times and got resolved by itself. Yet to take it for a long drive, but it seems that it would be a hoot to drive on the highway. There are no comments on the music system because I am spoilt by the Burmester sound system in my C-Class. The shifting of the DSG is marginally smoother on the upshift compared 9G-Tronic. I have 'done that and been there' with motorsports many many moons ago, and bought the Virtus for mainly highway driving purposes.
Very heartily put together Karthikey and every word of yours is 100% right. Virtus GT Plus is a purchase from heart and it does put a smile on your face whenever you drive it. You just need to ignore it's short comings and then it's a great companion for your drives. Enjoying the experience thoroughly since 6 months ❤ Not to forget, wherever i go, Virtus gets admiration and appreciation from ppl
It is actually a new generation Polo derived Sedan. Not a premium Car. It's a bliss for driving enthusiasts. Nothing more and nothing less. I own Virtus GT DSG. The best choice in the price bracket below 50 lakhs. Looks Sporty and feels sturdy but not for a Family man. While I enjoy the Drive, my kids and family don't because it's a Sedaaaaan. I will have to preserve this gem of a car to myself and buy an Innova Hycross for Family needs, which feels boring to drive.
Thanks Motorinc, was waiting this for long .. I was so keen to have this one when i have the budget, and the perspective changed when i got a chance to drive a new GT plus manual for 1000 kms .. I am still insterested but not very keen anymore.. 😀 I think i should also try the DSG as you said
My heart went for Slavia 1.5 MT . Black colour (elegance edition ). Covered 3000 kms till now . The drive train and handling is enough to look past sub par cabin for me . The overall experience is fantastic till now 👍🏻. My fuel average till now is 14.5 kmpl (mix of city, by roads and highways ).
I have 3 options...i20, Kylaq or Virtus AT.... What should i choose as 1st car... The only difference will be the waiting time to save for downpaument.
I just got my Polo 1.0 TSI serviced 3rd year or 45k internval and it just costed 7k. To my previous experience with our old Polo 1.2 TDI, we used to get huge bills back in days.
There are moments in life where you should say who cares and go for it ! Glad i went for it . The moment i hit a highway am all smiles. DSG + 1.5 TSI combo is ❤. One happy new owenr .
Thank god Virtus is now highest selling car in the segment from past months selling more than the Verna......Now Hyundai needs to Understand and launch the N-Line Version of the Verna which they are capable of to complete with the dynamics of Virtus.....Now I understand *Why Competition is Important*
Had been waiting for your review/ted talk on the slavia/virtus platform. I had loved both the slavia and virtus from the very beginning when they launched. They always remind me of the european sedan based GT endurance racers from the early 2000s. Planned too many times to get one of these, unfortunately finance condition always let me down. Probably will have one in my garage in future. Amazing views given by Karthik as always! Keep the engine running! 😊
The Virtus is perfect for me. I have a remote job so my city driving is very limited. My dad's baleno is perfect in that case. The baleno does lack in power and bootspace when it comes to long travel and for that reason I will be going for the Virtus soon.
Take a test drive of the current version and see what you feel first @soumilroy! If you think it could do better, may be waiting is a good idea but again, we have no idea what the facelift will fix.
Its look & feel is amazing specially in white & black colour. I felt its visual appeal is much more attractive compared to allmost all Compact SUV's. 1.5 TSI Power / torque combined with good drive feel, stability and 180 mm high ground clearance makes Virtus a good option over Compact Suv's
These newer full length videos like the Maverick and this, which are even available to us no membership peasants makes me remember why i followed you guys in the first place.
Slavia would feel plusher over bad roads whereas the Virtus would feel more controlled @abeedr19. It depends on what you prefer more, we'd pick the Virtus.
yo great video as usual was watching some of the old videos of you both from zigwheels and powerdrift i really liked how u guys reviewed bikes , with some storyline especially the Rtr 200 and NS200 one I do love the podcasts and absoloutely enjoy them , they are educating, funny etc however sometimes as i viewer though we get small shots of videos i as a viewer would like more videos is there chance those types of vids would be made by motorinc where u guys roam around a city, drive bikes , and then suddenly u guys are in a cafe chatting about bikes i really liked that concept i am not saying this to do with when a motorinc first comes for a single bike , podcasts seem better for that however incase u guys end up comparing Lets take Raider upadated model and N125 i would like to watch that type of video keep it up guys I love this channel
Agree with everything he said . I have 1.0 automatic... It's really good idk why he said it isn't.. Pricey? Sure.. But more durable than a dsg for sure.. Not as exciting as 1.5? Maybe.. But I can tune my engine to stage 2.. Can't do that for 1.5... And with the extra money i saved by not buying 1.5...i can put in enough petrol to travel 30 to 40k km... So I'm happy with the 1.0 automatic
I am running virtus 1.0 higline AT for 8 months now, its has a punchy engine great looks, good handling on highways, very planted. I had an incident where on the highway there was a huge undulation and i was overtaking a car and the speed is around 130 and the car went airborne coming out of that undulation and it didn’t loose control stayed in the line , really felt it saved me at that moment. Special mention to the engine and AT gear box in hills, it doesn’t stress the engine its smooth and effortlessly pulled 5 people with full boot over the munnar and ooty steepy roads even when the car comes to complete halt on the steep it moves comfortably ahead. Fuel efficiency over the highway is around 15-17, the only concerning part for me is fuel efficiency in city bumper to bumper traffic , it gives between 6-7 where in the same place the same engine with manual gearbox gives 10. I wish they should have tuned the transmission a little to the indian traffic conditions so yeah rest of the points i agree with the shortcomings mentioned in the video.
That’s a tough one. The real catch isn’t the gearbox - it’s the engine. Performance comes in a rush. Will take a bit of getting used to. The DCT is a quick ‘box.
This might be the first time I disagree with this channel, although I usually only watch bike reviews... But I drive a virtus and I for one believe it is so good in terms of everything. For the price you don't have any competitors even near this car, in the video you speak as if there is a better car in the segment in terms of all engine feels, suspension, cabin experience, comfort, mileage. I just don't see any of that to be true and the mileage is so not in the single digits that's just crazy. The avg is around 14-15 in my experience in city which is amazing!
Thank you for this. I have to say that given how experienced you guys are, you get your reviews spot on which even owners can attest to. Ive owned the 1.5 gt for just about 2 years now and have run it a little over 55 k (yeah lots of running). Just one point on the fuel economy. The car is very sensitive to inputs. I drive with a light foot and manage to extract upwards of 13 to 14 kmpl in the city (occasional bad days in ncr traffic brings this down to 10ish) and without exception above 18 -19 on the highway. I guess its more driver dependent on these tsi engines but yeah that figure is not priority for me.. the car otherwise is a fantastic overall package and as you said, it gives you what you expect from a vw.
Kartikeya, I've always respected and looked out for your perspective on auto-related developments (particularly your podcasts), but I have to disagree with some of the things you've mentioned about the Virtus. I own a Virtus GT Plus 1.5L MT and the mileage is not an issue at all. You speak about single-digit numbers in the city, which may occur every now and then based on traffic, but it isn't the norm. Rather, I've been extracting 11-13kmpl on average in city conditions. Highways ofcourse, it is a different beast, when the ACT gets activated. You then say the music system is average; perhaps, that is applicable to the initial batch of cars that came out soon after the launch in 2022, but since Oct 2023, the vehicles come fitted with a sub-woofer and amp which churn out excellent sound particularly if you gravitate to bass-based stuff. Infact I've had owners of premium vehicles (Fortuner and the like) who've stated that the sound system for Virtus is on par, if not better than what's present in their vehicles. Finally, eye-of-the-beholder and all that, but I think the side view of the Virtus is brilliant and one of its strong suits. Agree with you about the rear though. Not great.
Hey Amar, great to have your take. We will check the audio angle again. But, have you tried the Verna’s Bose system? Also, which city are you in? Fuel efficiency - you can seem from other users can vary dramatically.
@@motorinc Haven’t heard the Verna’s system but I’m reasonably certain that a bonafide audiophile wouldn’t call the Virtus’s sound system 'average'. Infact, one of the reasons I look forward to stepping into my Virtus is because of the audio quality on offer which enhances the driving experience. If I recollect VW had launched a "Sound edition" late last year, and if I'm not mistaken that came as a 7-speaker set-up whereas the GT variants come with 8 speakers. As cringeworthy as the branding appears to be, it's worth pondering why VW would pursue and promote something like "sound" if it was only going to come across as average in the market place. You could be right about traffic density per city leaving a mark, but I’ve spoken to other Virtus 1.5 MT owners and they’ve called out a similar ballpark of 11-13. With the DSG gearbox perhaps things could be more challenging in traffic conditions.
Sorry A, but we’ll have to disagree. Let us know when you check out the Verna. It’s always relative to what’s on offer for the money. And 11-13 for the MT is not great. And the DCT doesn’t make it better. Thanks for clarifying. Now we get your perspective. We have different expectations. 👍🏽
Lovely video as always! Would like your expert opinion on whether the current slavia/virtus is worth buying at this time of their cycle? Or should one wait for upcoming facelifts if any, or for newer sedans, if any?
“‘Who cares!” might sound crazy to a car owner when it comes to maintenance cost, but the good part is that annual servicing isn’t too expensive. If you care for your car gently, you’ll likely never regret it for years to come.
If they removed that gloss dashboard element....and it was just something simple It would have been like "okay I can live with this everyday" I'm not worried about the reliability although a bit about repair costs which I saw some owners complaining about and it did raise an eyebrow I still love this car and yes I would pick it happily if I had the money But if there was a Verna N Line..... I'M SERIOUS, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN EPIC
Love the review, we have a kushaq in our family based on same platform and were one of the first to go for it as soon as it was announced, it's great that VW group never gave up and still is persistent with their offerings. Virtus has to be one of the only vehicles in it's class that actually makes me want to go for a sedan, rest don't do anything for me, that design is a major plus. I am awaiting on first impressions of the new Kylaq as I am thinking about getting it as my first car as it seems bang on value if we get a mid variant under or at least around 10L. After Kushaq for 3 years (which again was the first ever car in our family) we had a great experience with that engine, I am eager to go for Kylaq even though Virtus was my first choice but way past my budget, so excited hear what you have to say about that car hopefully soon.
@5:20 love the " Y'll have have more fun with more and confidence and more safety" that's exactly why you buy this car love you brother for communicating that so neatly but that"You have to listen" got me😂 ROFL🤣 ..i mean to all the rattles & squeaks ..I own a slavia 1.5 dsg so it rings a bell Personally i feel slavia can take the indian roads better and be also good at highway speed ....i regularly do 110-140 and even with with 5 passengers and fully loaded boot it dornt break a sweat man love the handling And also a note for owners please adjust the tyre pressures or shift to better tyres if possible will make a lot of difference to your driving experience and of course fuel efficiency The omly bummer really is the AC and ventilated seats they feel like a segment below All the other basics like the seats ,steering ,chassis, suspension are superb and feel like a segment above which only the germans are offering right now for that price
Good to hear that ❤, Btw, I've been a huge fan of both your work and Shumi's since the Bloomberg/CNBC days. In fact, I convinced my dad to buy me a Pulsar 135 14 years ago after watching Shumi's review on TV.
As Kartikeya said in the video, we do not think reliability is a concern @gameaccount9625, but you can get the extended warranty and the service packages if you'd like better peace of mind.

In the era of SUVs, it's good to see companies that still stand behind the sedans that they're passionate about.
We’re definitely glad there are some!
It's mainly about demand.

Are there any differences between Slavia and Virtus (1.5 L DSG) ?

oh man, it felt like the best decision i’ve ever made in my life. since then, i’ve been splitting my salary-prioritizing car expenses (fuel, fastag, maintenance) first and keeping the leftover money for myself.
every time i take my car out after a long gap, like 15 days, i still get goosebumps.
yes, the ac isn’t top-notch, the cabin isn’t premium, and the window operation feels squeaky.
but who cares about those things when your body feels perfectly connected to the car? it does exactly what i think, places itself precisely where i want without any strain, holds up wherever it matters, and flies when i need it to.
and karthick, that was a 10-minute poem, man. respect to you and your team for the amazing work.
Thank you for sharing your experience, RC! We'll pass your compliments on to the team ❤️ Wishing loads of safe and fun rides 🤗
what do you do as a 23 yr old in India to afford a 20 lakh car and take 15 day roadtrips at the same time, im curious and would like to indulge in the same.

That "Who Cares?" attitude with the Virtus is actually what forced me to buy one. I'll be getting mine very soon. Thank you for this @motorinc.

Congratulations Ganesh! Wish you awesome travels with it!

Hey AG! Thanks so much for the appreciation and the suggestion.
I agree
There hasn't been a time when I see a Virtus on the road and I don't fall in love with its design. Idk what happens in my brain but I just love the design of Virtus
😆 we get it!
What is this content man? Epic!! As if talking about Virtus wasn't enough, the production quality and delivery is impeccable. I'm a fan!!
Glad you enjoyed the watch @thejaideeparora! Welcome to MotorInc 😊
Duuuudeee!!!! Goosebumps. Thank you for writing that! And, love to Elsa. ❤️
Do a stage 1+ tune bro. You will make reasons to drive your car. I’m loving my Topline MT after tuning it from RedBandRacing.
virtus was the much needed competitor to verna, i love it.
Hey R! Thanks for pitching in and helping others make better decisions. Means a lot! Wish you awesome travels!
Will definitely try it on the bad road . I guess it may not change my decision anyway
Ya ya you are spot on, slight feathering of throttle will do the trick, but it takes sometime to master that.
But ya fully agree with you on this
Hear you P!
Hola @yadhunayt! Thanks for taking the time to share, it's awesome to hear that you're enjoying the Safari! 😊
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, NP! Loved the pro in the con which you shared 😂
Hi @niketprasad , what’s the mileage you’re getting in city drive and is it a manual or automatic
@@manishtalukdar4182 Hi, mileage is very heavily dependent on how you drive. In Bengaluru in stop start traffic I get between 10-12 and on highways at 18. Extreme traffic like silk board/saki naka will be around 8-10. I have DSG transmission
any dsg issues ? i am considering to buy one 2024 variant so this would be my first vw car so am not sure about dsg any tips ?
Go for it!

8:30 As a VW Virtus GT owner this accurately sums up my feelings for the car. Who cares!!!
Heya PS! Thanks so much for letting us into your garage! More deets in your ride please! 😄 How long have you had it? Colour? And transmission?
Mine is white one with DSG and even after 2 years I still can’t get enough of it. Puts a smile on my face every time I push that start button 😊
Awesome! Wish you safe travels!
Thanks for sharing @ShashankRathod! Glad to hear that...
I have the 1.0 TC automatic, over 28k KM done, needed the automatic and 1.0 was the only option in budget.
I have owned and driven (wagonR, i10, i20, altroz DCT)
I found the Virtus's TC really good, it is smooth and nice, though it usually stays one gear lower than expected sometimes to give you that quick acceleration if required.
Thanks for sharing @coolmudit007! How has your service experience been?
Hey does the city milage increase after first service?
i’m using the same 1.0 tsi with TC only issue me facing is the city mileage 7 to 8 is max on city while highway it can easily get 13,14 or 18+
I'm one from the gang of, "Who Cares". And I love it.

driving a VW always bring a smile to my face! And for Virtus i think it just looks really great , it has a great road presence! Great review Kartikeya.
Wonderful @_rajgauravmail_! Glad you enjoyed.
Thanks for sharing your experience as an owner, AR! How has the service experience been so far?
I did have a QC issue at the start with the AC drain system leaking condensed water inside the car rather than outside leading to the floor board getting wet. ASC diagnosed it right but the rectification process was long and took a while before i got the car back. But they were methodical and didn’t leave anything loose as it involved removing the dash and putting it back. Touchwood no issues and rattles after that. Yet to do the annual service so I will update my feedback after that
With bargaining skills, managed to get discount of almost 2.5L on 1ltr Topline a week ago!

Hi MotorInc,
Thanks!
My Observation:
Hey CG! Thanks so much for the in-depth update. It’s helpful for others! And, congratulations!

Agreed! The smaller things are becoming the bigger issues.

Beautiful video Kartik as always ❤
Great stuff brother! And if i could say, the rear 3/4 view gives a hint of the previous gen A4. I think that is great!
Awrite! That’s a cool perspective!
Thanks for sharing your experience @sunkidd9150! Glad to hear that you're having a lot of fun.

I am driving Sibling Slavia after Ford Ecosport. Just a great experience.
Glad to hear that @hikerandwandered9912! Thanks for sharing.
Dude, You have someone praying for you...
Glad to hear you were okay AS! Drive carefully! And thanks for the review too. 👍🏽
Please cover different terrain. How does 1.5 tsi perform in a hill climb ? Any shortcomings with DCT? or manual recommended?
Hey AM, that’s okay. We’ll talk about that too…
Thank you for this.
Thanks for sharing your experience @electrifyt! These look like great numbers!
You said everything to make the review a balanced one. Is DSG good for city driving or should one prefer manual in the city? Please clarify.
Happy to have the DS! Getting one?
Hi.
Could you tell us why the 6 Speed Torque Converter isn't good enough?
It’s not smooth at low speeds in the city, it’s a bit urgent. That makes it not as convenient and smooth as it should be.
Other than design changes how does the Virtus differ from Slavia?
Stay tuned!!
I have driven soooo many cars by now, understanding them in different scenarios but I still don't understand the FAD of crossovers (SUV).
If you like it for what it is today, we don't see what should stop you @LiTtLeLiOnMaN394, take a test drive for sure!
“‘Who cares!” might sound crazy to a car owner when it comes to maintenance cost, but the good part is that annual servicing isn’t too expensive. If you care for your car gently, you’ll likely never regret it for years to come.
True! Take care of em!
If they removed that gloss dashboard element....and it was just something simple
It would have been like "okay I can live with this everyday"
I'm not worried about the reliability although a bit about repair costs which I saw some owners complaining about and it did raise an eyebrow
I still love this car and yes I would pick it happily if I had the money
But if there was a Verna N Line..... I'M SERIOUS, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN EPIC
Let's hope that Hyundai brings it here soon @vibhudoesntexist!
Wonderful to hear that you've been enjoying the Kushaq @AAKEngine. What do the family think of the service experience with Skoda?
@5:20 love the " Y'll have have more fun with more and confidence and more safety" that's exactly why you buy this car love you brother for communicating that so neatly but that"You have to listen" got me😂 ROFL🤣 ..i mean to all the rattles & squeaks ..I own a slavia 1.5 dsg so it rings a bell
Personally i feel slavia can take the indian roads better and be also good at highway speed ....i regularly do 110-140 and even with with 5 passengers and fully loaded boot it dornt break a sweat man love the handling
And also a note for owners please adjust the tyre pressures or shift to better tyres if possible will make a lot of difference to your driving experience and of course fuel efficiency
The omly bummer really is the AC and ventilated seats they feel like a segment below
All the other basics like the seats ,steering ,chassis, suspension are superb and feel like a segment above which only the germans are offering right now for that price
Thanks for sharing your experience @prashantkarasu6765! Good to hear that you're enjoying it so much...
Guys we haven't had a first impression video so far this week. Is there any change of plans?
None at all! 😄
Appreciate this.
I guess you guys didn't posted any video about the new Skoda Kylaq right. Is there any reason?
We’ll wait for the launch!
@motorinc Ok 🙂
As always, great review! Btw, any plans for Brixton motorcycles?
Thanks @satvicyogi! ❤️ Waiting for the test vehicle.
Good to hear that ❤, Btw, I've been a huge fan of both your work and Shumi's since the Bloomberg/CNBC days. In fact, I convinced my dad to buy me a Pulsar 135 14 years ago after watching Shumi's review on TV.
Thank you for making our day 🤗💖
Good to start day with Motorinc Video ❤.
Have an awesome one Krish!
This is carbon steel gray or carbon steel matte gray?
It's called the Carbon Steel Grey on VW's website @patil7167 but their images look glossy.
What is the best sedan with a good mileage and reliability under 20 lac??
City
Honda city
I heard DSG gear box not much reliable from 50k to 1 lac kms prblms starts is that true ???
As Kartikeya said in the video, we do not think reliability is a concern @gameaccount9625, but you can get the extended warranty and the service packages if you'd like better peace of mind.
