I don't know how old Riggs is portrayed to be in the movie but I'm guessing late 20's. It's one of those situations where if Rhianna turns 18, it's plausible. A 10-year age difference is not impossible.

And they wonder why they can't make movies as bad ass as they used to. You lost a small but core element of the movie Hollywood, family. Well let's face it. Mel was a great looking guy, so I can understand her crush. As I remember their characters became close anyway, just as friends though.
it's hard not to notice a pair of under age flirty eyes staring at you from across the table and trying to keep your composure but Riggs did just as good a job as i did the first and only time that happened to me. it's all about keeping your mind more on the conversation and less about your surroundings when you can let your defenses down a little.
Lethal Weapon was a lot more subtle about the concept of family than the Fast and Furious films even though I still enjoy the latter as a guilty pleasure.
In the sequels it was apparent. Riggs and Rhianne always got along. In LW 3 Rodger punches Riggs off the side of his boat cos he thinks Riggs slept with Rhianne.
I'd say this film very subtly did its own take on race, in that the Murtaughs are how Hollywood usually portrayed a white family (straight laced, suburban, 2.4 kids etc) and Riggs was effectively Axel Foley but white.

Why can't they make such organic and warm scenes in today's cinema anymore? When you watch it you are physically there.

I had the crush for the SA girl in second movie. what a dish she was, very crunchy
Yes we did. She was one of the first women of color I ever liked when I was a kid 😮
Can’t beat Gibson and Glover, you can tell they had a great bond making these movies. Often the laughing it real
When I was young this scene was my favorite still is till this day !!!
It's the funniest classic family scene in a action classic movie. 100% respect!!!
this scene alone shows why this franchise was as successful as it was...
Yeah. It grew like a hemorrhoid. 😅
I cannot express the warmth and joy that those first two Lethal Weapon movies had despite being dark as hell towards the endings. 🎉 brilliant films
It was this scene where Martin Riggs became a member of the Murtaugh Family, & although awkward it also proved warmhearted & endearing.
Rhian looked like she wanted to eat Martin up alive hahahah this scene will never get old love all the lethal weapon movies
Me too
She not brad lookin
Omg I still do but I would so play it cool
When the little girl said, “it’s that a crook” I died 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
She said that about Martin? LMFAOO never noticed that
That actually made me laugh. Such a sweet girl 🤣🤣
Absolutely. That little girl is adorable. Especially the way her and the brother roasted her for giving Martin "the eyes" haha
My favorite scene, by far.
This was the start of a brotherhood

The beatbox table Rap where she says “You need some help” to her daddy, Lol too cute
