    He's a very smart person, he knows that the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor Class A VCA section sounds just like the new SSL Bus Compressor, so that's why he uses it in tandem with the channel strip to get the full SSL sound. This video is a gem.

    It would never occur to me to use the B-15 amp plug on a suitcase piano, great idea! I have that amp plug, and can also vouch for how accurate and great it is. I had an SVT many years ago, and I still remember the way those Ampegs would make your (or at leas my) molars rattle on the low notes, even when played at lower volumes. And yup, this plug gave the same "molar rattle"! It's compatible with UAD interfaces, so I can put in the Unison slot and it sounds even better.

    Amazing. High respect for Adam Moseley. I have to disagree on the use of De-esser. Even in this brilliant example, it makes the singer lisp. When vinyl is no more the prominent media, is there a real reason to use de-essers? So much power, excitement, feel and expression is on those areas. Thank you for the video.

    26:20 where is the latency comes from? I don't have that with any PA plugin, except with the delay2500 of course. I used the SPL attacker also, but I changed to the Elysia Nvelope plugin, in my opinion you can fine tune that better. But the SPL is also great. As a key-player myself, it always takes me how low a synth bass can go. The Refinement is also an amazing plugin, even on full range material. Great work and production and song.

    thank you for the tutorial. is the multitracks available to download?

    • @PluginAllianceTV
      @PluginAllianceTV  11 місяців тому +1

      Due to the low number of Plugin Alliance users that have downloaded past multitracks, combined with the challenges of clearing samples for distribution, not all Mixed with MEGA projects will be downloadable moving forward. On a positive note, this frees us to work with a wider variety of producers like Adam, feature a more diverse selection of music, and publish these Mixed with MEGA videos more frequently.

    Hello Plugin Alliance team,is there a possibility that you add oversampling option to ssl 4000e channel strip? Thanks

    • @PluginAllianceTV
      @PluginAllianceTV  10 місяців тому +1

      All analog modeled plugins “made by BX” apply oversampling internally whenever it is necessary. We are typically not simply oversampling the whole plugin, as this would increase the CPU/DSP load unnecessarily in most cases. Especially on DSP systems, where a plugin always has to prepare for the worst-case DSP load this wouldn’t be great. The same would be true for plugins like our SSL console emulations, which get used on dozens of channels in many mixes. CPU/DSP efficiency is key here. The way our system works is that we basically make sure that any crucial part of analog modeled circuits run with a sample rate of at least 176Khz internally.

  • @spaceiswater6539
    @spaceiswater6539 11 місяців тому +1

    I have bought lots of your Channel-Strips but I cant find any information where I place them on a track.
    Do I place the VST instrument then the channel strip then the effects after OR do I place them at the end such as VST instrument, effects then channel strip?
    As I'm finding this really confusing I have been asking people on UA-cam but its crazy as no one seems to know the answer I'm just hopping maybe @Plugin Alliance can help me.
    Maybe it would make a nice future video so your customers are not confused with it all?

    • @TimTheTomato
      @TimTheTomato 11 місяців тому +1

      Place the instrument first I’d suggest

    • @PluginAllianceTV
      @PluginAllianceTV  11 місяців тому +7

      While there are no "rules," many producers like using our channel strip plugins to recreate a hardware mixing workflow. Tradtiionally, you'd record an instrument through a console and use its built-in effects (EQ, compressor, etc.), then apply outboard effects (reverb, delay, etc.), and record the final result into your DAW. Recreating this with one of our channel strip plugins would look like this: VST Instrument > Channel Strip Plugin > Effects. You can apply effects directly to the track or in parallel without straying away from a hardware mixing workflow.
      In some situations, it makes sense to apply effects beforehand. For example, if you're using a guitar VST without built-in pedal and amp effects, you might want to apply some guitar effects before running the signal through a channel strip; this would mimick the process of recording an amped up guitar through a console which is quite common. Having said this, feel free to get creative and experiment with applying processing in any order that inspires you.

      @@PluginAllianceTV WOW thank you so much, that's the information I have been looking for in such a longtime, it now makes more sense to me. I will try the ways you have described. Thanks again now I can finally have some fun with your plugins I have bought from you as I have so many to try.

      Use headphones

    • @PluginAllianceTV
      @PluginAllianceTV  11 місяців тому +1

      Depending on the severity of your room-related issues, you might be better off mixing/mastering with headphones. The position of your speakers, desk, acoustic treatment, and listening position all have an affect on what you hear. Another key consideration is the thickness and absorptivity of your acoustic treatment. A poorly treated room can result in comb filtering, flutter echo, excessive decay times, and room modes that lead to an unbalanced bass response.
      While mixing/mastering with headphones has some drawbacks, like the absence of acoustic crosstalk, it voids room-related issues. We have a great video about mastering with headphones featuring Glenn Schick that you might be interested in: ua-cam.com/video/9somtZ1FZTI/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared

    Only thing I don't like is her pitch. Mix is awesome.

    Wasn't the whole point of Mixed with MEGA for users to be able to download the multitracks????????? PA is circling the drain lately.

      @@PluginAllianceTV Garbage excuse. Congrats, you just took another perk away from MEGA bundle subscribers. Thanks so much!!!

    GREAT mix. However, on the PEX-500, rather than boosting 10k, you were actually boosting 6k. If you look to the immediate right you'll see various frequencies in the 'HIGH FREQUENCY' area - which ranger from 3k to 15k. If you want to attenuate 10k through 20k, you would use the top-most attenuation knob. This also confused me a bit years ago.
    That said, again, SOLID mix. 🎛🎧🎶
