Gotta hand it to Tommy Clufetos for keeping what was the once briefly extinct "rock drum solo" alive.. Good to see cats like him keeping it fun and entertaining..
He didn't get that done. That's what happens when an older band from the 70's tours, they bring back drum solos. He played a good one but didn't bring it back.
It's got to be awkward for this poor guy knowing how loved Bill Ward is by Sabbath fans.I'm sure he knows they want to see Bill there but his playing and the kit is a definite homage to Bill Ward. It's the best gig the guy will ever have and his definitely honors Ward's legacy.Good on ya Tommy-Great job.
Hehe... I must be so late to this party that I haven't read any negative comments buried somewhere here. Good! I love the gentleman's approach to this Black Sabbath performance/tour: drums tuned for power and breadth, his solo is fun and relatible, his time is fantastic! He looks extremely fit and like a rock star resurrected. I have to believe that Black Sabbath as a whole feels very fortunate to have that 'young man' at the wheel. Bravo! (I'm not even a Black Sabbath fan ROFL... maybe I'll become one.)
I am 58 years old and have been A drummer all my life. I say that Tommy is by far the best I have ever seen. I had seen him in wash. state on ozzys last time.
I'm a guitarist and Tony Iommi is a huge inspiration to me so it almost pains me to say that this was probably my favorite part of the show! Those poor, poor toms
Tommy was playing jazz fusion when he was a kid. He's always been a remarkable player. It's unbelievable the success he's attained. But he went for it like a freight train. Unapologetically dedicated, driven, and focused on his goals.
Call it what you want, whether your a drummer or not. This is entertaining. The people who went to this concert are enjoying it, and that's all that matters.
I went to the show having mixed feelings about the drummer situation (I still think Bill Ward should have been there) but Tommy Clufetos was great. And his drum solo was amazing. You can't blame Clufetos for what Sabbath did to Bill Ward.
You know what? I'm a drummer snob, and I say this is one of the best stadium show drum solos I've ever seen. Not because it was super technical, and not because it's from a band I grew up with (but only liked once I got older). In a big room, the sound gets mushy, and the drummer needs to play simpler to allow the audience to follow along. I gave Tommy Lee credit for doing this in the past - but I think Clufetos does it better than Lee & Tommy Aldridge ever did. The solo was built really well for the audience and the venue. Hats off!
Tommy is an amazing drummer as well as godfather to my granddaughter. I talked about him last night on my live Podcast. The show topic was the masterpiece Patient #9
The bar has been risen so high with musicianship now, it almost doesn't even matter how good someone is. Its become old hat to me. I just like anything entertaining and full of energy.
I like his energy & the fact he's having fun. It made the audience have fun too. Maybe not the hardest drum licks I've ever heard but by God the man was kicking some ass. That's rock n roll to me. He didn't bore the audience, he entertained them & gave them their monies worth.
Always loved drums since i saw Ginger Baker with Cream as a kid in1967! Seen all of them since . Buddy Rich , Bonham, list goes on but this guy was something else. Power ,stamina everything. We were in Glasgow a few rows back and my head was hanging by a thread!
So very cool... It's like an ode to Bill Ward... He looks like him from the late 70s... Same type drum.kit Ward played in late 70s too, a Ludwig kit tho... And the white marine pearl color is the color of Bills earlier Slingerland smaller 4 piece kit...
Seen them in San Jose. Glad I went. I have to say this is the best drum solo I’ve ever seen live. While Ozzy got his depends changed Tommy Clufetos nailed it. Eat your heart out Tommy Lee., this solo would of smashed the wheels on your drum coaster.
He did a really great job on this tour. Obviously, it’s a shame that Bill didn’t play with the other three, but at least TC was a damn good replacement. Now if only I had the chance to see these legends live :(
I'm just 6 months shy of being 70 years old. This man is entertaining but the best drummer I've ever seen live was Carl Palmer. My favorite is Buddy Rich. BTW I'm also a drummer.
Tommy is a fantastic drummer with great energy and does a great job he even sort of resembles a young Bill Ward but sadly he isn't Bill Ward who was sadly not a part of this because his brothers and band mates and Couldn't or wouldn't get him a decent contract. None of the excuses given for this were acceptable, regardless of who over sees the band (managers etc) you're fcking Black Sabbath and you could have fixed the problem and made it happen. Tony, Geezer, and Ozzy should all be a shamed of themselves. The ending of this band without him is in my opinion one of the greatest tragedies in rock music, they owe it Bill to throw all the bullshit excuses to the side and go out one more time with him and make this right before one of them passes away or something else happens.
every drum solo with 2 bass drum pedals (kicks) are still the same: soft and in the end with maximum power with the double bass drum pedals in action with a fast tempo :)
Its just the perspective, theyre sitting just above the bigger concert toms, the china is more to the left beside them than it looks, and yes, its just for show, its black sabbath, theyre playing stadiums, hes supposed to have a giant ridiculous rock drum kit, the gong is just for show too, incase you were wondering.

Clufetos είναι ελληνικό επώνυμο
He didn't get that done. That's what happens when an older band from the 70's tours, they bring back drum solos. He played a good one but didn't bring it back.
He’s not at a drum competition he’s at a concert people want to be entertained .for that he did a great job .
Power solo drums...rock never die
I grew up listening to Sabbath. I've seen the original members a few times. this guy does a great job.
Tommy Clufetos monster of drums .Heavy metal drum master.
Stick to heavy metal

Exactly.
bill ward is 100 years old and would not survive 3 songs of one show...
i like his playing more than bill LOL
Actually he played with Zombie and John5. The guy is a beast of a drummer. Black Sabbath may have been a big gig 30 years ago
@@foltzfamhalloween I hear ya but Sabbath is still a huge gig lol

...agreed. Why these clowns continue to bag his technique, and sob for Bill is beyond me.

Seen them in Belfast that drummer (Tommy Clufetos) He soloed for around 15/20 minutes!! fucking Brilliant he was
Dziękuję za to nagranie, zrobiłeś to rewelacyjnie. Natychmiast odżyły sobotnie wspomnienia.
Call it what you want, whether your a drummer or not. This is entertaining. The people who went to this concert are enjoying it, and that's all that matters.
Good point Stephan, the fans are happy.
Stephen Landry I agree some "other drummers" are just running off the band. Fun is fun and good tunes!
I went to the show having mixed feelings about the drummer situation (I still think Bill Ward should have been there) but Tommy Clufetos was great. And his drum solo was amazing. You can't blame Clufetos for what Sabbath did to Bill Ward.
Clufetos did his work very professionally...an awesome experience for him too (drumming for Black Sabbath...on their last tour....wow).
Sadly, I don't think bill had the stamina to play a full high energy set anymore. Like this part.
This old school drumming at its best.
You know what? I'm a drummer snob, and I say this is one of the best stadium show drum solos I've ever seen.

I thought it was extremely dull, I could play this with my dick

I’ve been to over 100 shows, and this guy has been in my top 5 favorite drummers live, he is a monster
That pearl finish looks f--king amazing!!!

Really loving the sound of his drum kit/house
I know Tommy from the gym ..Nicest most polite guy I ever met!
By gym you must mean drug dealer.
I remember Tommy when he played for Ted Nugent about 10 or so years ago and I fell in love with his drumming then!!!😎👍

Tommy Clufetos is one of the Best drummers i've ever seen live.
..totally. I'd love to see him in a band with Jake E. Lee and Glenn Hughes..
I like his energy & the fact he's having fun. It made the audience have fun too. Maybe not the hardest drum licks I've ever heard but by God the man was kicking some ass. That's rock n roll to me. He didn't bore the audience, he entertained them & gave them their monies worth.
Kirk Shipp : he kept his gig.
Anyone who says this rock drum solo sucks is absolutely clueless. It's amazing.
Amazing solo !

Can someone cut the hands off the person who is clapping in the background please..
Clapping when you are in the crowd at a rock-concert...HE MUST BE KILLED!
One of the best rock drummers.
Ese día prometí nunca más tocar la batería. Lo veo, se me sigue erizando la piel y se me llenan los ojos de lágrimas.
Saw them in Houston on this tour with my dad, and Yes, we were Very Happy 😎😎😎
Great!!
He is my favorite drummer!!!
I will never clap again after this.
He caught me by surprise. This a very entertaining drum solo. His energy is insane, he reminds me of “Animal” from The Muppet Show.
I enjoyed that solo live in Ottwa ,canada! He is a dynamo!
Phenomenal drummer and very nice guy I met him when he played for Rob Zombie
Best Drummer of All time!
The fact that he plays very well but he himself gets watch his hero’s every night when they toured thank you tommy
it is notoriously difficult to entertain the average person using only drums, so this guy does a very good job here!
dude it’s the exact fucking opposite, you know shit about drums
@@VictorCardena3 wth do you mean the opposite ? What is the opposite of drum lol

Stephen Landry but this solo is awesome man
Yeah the rhythm starting at 06:00 was awesome! Helluva massive kit.
I liked his performance....
Its Appreciable......
Another amazing "GOAT" drummer, of whom I can not pronounce the last name . . .
Man, what a smasher!!
Tommy Clufetos rocks!
I notice that Matt Cameron and Kenny Aronoff have both played with Tony quite a bit. So I'm guessing Tommy was chosen by Sharon.
as great a s drum solo as you can get!! wow!
Poor octobans and concert toms felt lonely..😩😩
