So very true
Tommy Aldridge is my favorite drummer of all time he is so talented and has so much power WOW !
Jackson, Mississippi in the house♥️💯
Hard to believe the guy is 69 here
@@mikeloomis2091 "Inconceivable!" ... ^v^
My fellow metal head, I work in a deli in a small town in California. One day Tommy walked in, didn't realize it the drum god himself in front of me, my bad but i knew his face for some where. I asked a co worker does he remind u of someone and thats when i found out it was him.... Honest to god i see him every week for his sandwich meats and cheese
Man I wish I was there I've been listening to Tommy since 79 I'm a drummer he is a god
Just saw a vid of him playing Still Of The Night at age 73 and he beats those drums like they owe him money!
Which fcking town? I want to visit
Get the autograph because we all don’t last long. He’s an absolute legend.
Great story!
I got to meet him in the Amphitheater in St Louis. When he played with Ted Nugent. Cool guy!!
Drummers and bass guitars have always been the meat and potatoes of the band long live rock
Amazing solo and couse Tonny Aldridge
One of the best lineups
👍 Tommy
Insanely great love it 🙏👍
Tommy Aldridge kicked ass (no surprises there lol), but my god David Coverdale can still hit those high notes as if he was still in his 20's. This was by far their best album. Nothing at all against Doug Aldridge because he shredded, but i would have loved to see John Sykes on that stage.
@Tapani Erkkilä lol yeah.
i would kill to see sykes................ Reb and Doug are great but Mr. Sykes is a guitar wizard.......
Pound for pound, Tommy has to be the hardest hitting drummer in the business. He old school beats the drums like they owe him money
John Bonham would be proud. Tommy is one of the greats’.
Muppets Animal 👍✌️
One of the wildest and most energetic drum solos I've ever seen. Tommy Aldridge is a machine .
in his 50s !!!!!!!
73 now, and hasn’t lost a thing! Still one of the best!!!
70 years old and still Kicking Ass! Tommy Aldridge is One of the Best of All Time🐍
YES !! YES !! YES !! TOMMY ALDRIDGE THE ROCK DRUMMER IN THIS TIME AND FOREVER.
Absolutely 1 of my favorite whitsnake songs. I know Tommy is the focus but damn Doug is a beast on that 6 string.
One of the most underrated of all time!
His power stance during that solo was also peak performance!
Fuck.....how good does David Coverdale sound?
Yeah Vince Neil needs to take lessons from him.
That's not what he sounded like when they played this live. They rerecorded the vocals back at the studio and swapped out the live recorded vocals to make this video.
Voice is recorded in studio, it's not the live version of his voice :)
@@internettoughguy I dunno, I was at Hammersmith that night and he didn't sound bad at all..
Cleanest cymbal chokes your gonna find!!!!
No that title goes to Sugarfoot.
I swear to god, Tommy will be 95 and still rocking out like he's 20.
Facts
He's damn near there 😂
Got to see him with BOA in 76 and White Snake 15 years later. Great performances!
I’m noteven sure if he even needs drums to drum
He has cut his solo duration by half these days which is fully understandable when you are 69 years old. He is still a machine, in fact I think Tommy is the real Highlander, he seems immortal...
Machine....exactly...
I'm sure doing half his solo with his bare hands has started to take its toll but the man is a rolling freight train for sure,,a machine since the Black Oak Arkansas days
@@ludwigguy380 A few days ago, I watched a new video of him soloing, and was surprised to see him still beating the shit out of his kit bare handed. I'm 10 years his junior, and sometimes my hands hurt just fluffing up my pillow. The man's a beast. Gotta love him.
@@162534283746 He is a beast absolutely..he beats his drums like they owe him money! I'm right behind you in age and my hands hurt just watching his solos
I saw him multiple times with Pat Travers...they were great...Mars Cowling and Tommy were so tight. enough said
That’s how you play drums in a rock and roll band!!!! Go Tommy!!!
One of THE greatest drummers in rock history...Tommy Aldridge!!!
What a performance! What a guitar solo! What a drum solo! Beasts on stage!
Wow!! Tommy is just a monster HOWEVER, Ive never heard David Coverdale sound so good!! MANNN hes on
Love how Doug played within the original framework of the Sykes solo. He knows perfection when he sees it
Nailed it! That Les Paul was smoking a cigarette afterwards….
When mr Alderdige❤playing no words to explain he’s on fire 🔥
One of THE best rock drummers EVER!
I agree 100%
Damn right!!
Duh
No THE best rock drummer alive
Tommy has been a huge influence on my style of drumming since i first saw Him with Oz in 1982 live with Gillis (just missed St. Rhoads by 6 months).. After seeing this performance! I'm AGAIN convinced He's One badass Slammin drummer ever to take a stage.. God bless U Tommy
Killer song...insane drums....very cool...
Tomy Aldrige a master, a legend, a legacy.
Any relation to Tommy Aldridge?
@@bangosdemangos416 How is your question relevant?
Say what you want about Coverdale, but he was a genius for surrounding himself and picking the best talent available for each era of Whitesnake...and Aldridge arguably the best rock drummer ever- pure power and so solid...just amazing
I love Neil but he ain't got shit on Tommy! Holy fuck!!!
Your right Neil is so much better it's not even close. Tommy does one thing over and over and over, boring. Neil Peart ( RIP ) Rock God !!
I saw Tommy Aldridge playing drums for Pat Travers band! Portland, Oregon in 1980. Soloed bare handed!
Thanks for changing the camera angles 20 times per second!!!
That.. exactly that
Arnt you a whining complaining little bitch
@@paulthesoundguy1 I agree 100%. If you had half a brain, you would notice, but you must be out to lunch.
Yep, for some unknown reason some idiotic video editor started doing this and then, for some unknown reason, many more video editors followed suit and became idiots. If you asked 1000 people if they liked this idiotic (and completely pointless) editing habit, 990 would say no, 5 would say yes, and 5 would say I don't know (10 idiots). Haha
@@joestrummer9507 my pet peeve is live audio with screaming crowds edited in THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SONG.
eg KISS. Cinderella.
Drum solo editing by someone who doesn't like drums.
Tommy Aldridge is amazing !!!!
Such a killer band...and what a drummer.
Unbearably good...
The band sounds great. Tommy has always been a great drummer.
Insane Tommy you rock!!!!
No doubt, Tommy's drum solo was smokin'... but Aldrich's guitar solo wasn't too shabby either!!
FUCKIN SHREDDER REB TOO AND MARCO
Yes Aldrich's is very good have seen him with Dio and it was great !!
There is no buts...and by the way that fuckin drum solo was an historic site....who is commenting again???...where the fuck am i...!!!
Tommy is 102 and out drums Lars
Tommy Aldridge is a human time machine and will always be untouchable
that's right!!!! i read an earlier post saying he's one of the best drummers of all time,,no he isn't!! he is the best(GOAT) of all time!!people don't understand ,,there's no second or third or fourth best.either your the best or not!! he's the best i've heard! if you have someone you think can do better than him..i'd like to hear it!! GOOD LUCK WITH THAT,,HA,HA,HAAAAA!!!!! GO TOMMY!!!!!!!
@@cattowne4646im not a drummer but mikkey dee… his drum solo after sacrifice beats this
@@ElevatedLevetator Dee cant touch the socks of Tommy A. Im a drummer (45 years of experience).
@@HR2635 im not a drummer but i disagree
Neil Peart was far better in all aspects of drumming. Period
Damn! I was not expecting the footage to be that awesome. That's a pretty amazing guitar playing and drumming. Makes me wish that I could have been old enough to see a concert like this at the time.
Aos 70 anos Tommy Aldridge ai ainda é o METAL GOD da bateria.
Great Drummer 70 years old Coverdale is 65 Both sound amazing
Tommy is a monster!!!! The energy...!!!
and his not a young man anymore, but you would tell by listening to this solo
A song I listened to 10 000 times when I was seventeen and it was released. Heavy and groovy at the same time. And even if I am more into Slayer and other more obscure death metal bands this fucking rock so much🔥
10 001- i sing that along while i am work..
He never had a single drum lesson in his life, he's entirely self-taught.
TOP 5 GREATEST DRUMMER OF ALL TIME
No shit?!! So he is pretty much the Brann Dailor of the 80's.
@@reggtop you are joking right?
@@Dakhaos-ou812 No, not one lesson. And he can't read music (drum tabs) either. Learns everything and plays everything by ear.
Me too.
That's probably why I suck at drumming
I don't know how Tommy does what he does he is a machine .
Just insane!!!!
I'm so glad to have been born in the 60s & witnessed many great rock bands.
Yo naci en 1956 y amo el rock ES VIDA ..ES ENERGIA ❤❤
😎👍🇺🇸🥁 TOMMY!!!
I miss the Carbon fiber kit bro!
There is only one Tommy.... Tommy Aldridge: The Man, The Power and the Glory 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🤘🤘🤘🙏🙏🙏
These snare hits are like gun shots.. Hell yeah Tommy
Saw them in 87 with Great White...Tommy is da shit!...🤘🏼
I was there as well, one of my favorite concerts
Reunion Arena in Dallas. Great concert!
The amazing thing to me is. I remember listening the Whitesnake as a kid in the mid 80’s to the early 90’s! He was a badass drummer then! He has got to be pushing 70 by now. He has lost nothing and is as badass now as then!! This shit kicks ass makes me want to grow my hair back out and find me another Whitesnake T-shirt live that life again
He’s a anomaly it’s amazing
The dude's an animal! Great song! great drum solo!
Tommy is the greatest.
Whitesnake. Love them. Their gift for performance and execution of rock music is incredible. I love you Tommy, God bless you. My favourite drummer in the WHOLE world. 🐉WHITESNAKE🐉God bless you all and forever.
Doug Aldrich is a beast 🤘💀🤘
Clearly, Doug's alt account. Doug, give some love to Reb, who was an actual innovator of the 80s instead of being in Hurricane that did cheese metal. Btw, how much did you pay the camera man to ignore Reb, the greater of you two.
I don’t need no stinking drum sticks!
Tommy Aldridge was 54 Years Old at The Time of this Concert!!!,This Guy is Right Up There With The Greatest Live Rock Drummers of All Time!!!!,and To this Day,at Almost 73 He's Still Beating The Skins Like No Other!!!!,Rock On Tommy!!!!!
One of the most underrated drummers I ever heard.
I bought Tommy'a Hotlicks video (yes a VHS!) when I was about 19 years old in the 80's. I loved it, but never did I think that 35 years later (now in my 50's) that I would be still worshipping this incredible drummer. Finally got to see him live in London in 2022. Total bucket-list job.
Well said. He did the US Festivql with Ozzy in ‘83 (just after losing Randy) and one could wel would have thought it the pinnacle of a man’s life. 41 years later, he looks exactly the same and is better maybe, now a veritable god among distinguished men.
Keeping the Sykes style and tone alive. Doug is a beast and Tommy is an eternal drum machine in his 70's. Incredibel
How are you leaving out someone who was influential in the 80s; Reb Beach? He was one of the innovators of that era.
My speakers just exploded from sheer awesomeness.
So much energy in his body
I think Tommy Aldridge was the inspiration for Monster the drummer from the muppets lol
You mean animal but Mick Fleetwood was the inspiration.
I heard from Nettie Baker that they were inspired by her dad Ginger....so who knows?
The name was "Animal"
That's what's called giving it 110% on that drum solo!!!
Holding up the Cross of Christ 🙏. Thanks Tommy ❤
Best drummer in the world!!!!
Simply the most Amazing heavy rock drummer alive today. To still be able to play at that intensity level at almost 70 years old is breathtaking.
You forgot that Neil Peart still alive
@@BonhamPlayer Yes, but he is no longer playing. But, also an incredible drummer. I loved Rushs' late 70's and early 80's stuff. I always thought that his drums sounded the best when he was playing Tama. The Signals album is my favorite.
TA is 55 in this video-still amazing-people relax this is 2004; He is 69 in 2020
@@shanegriffin2215 I play everyday…not that it’s any of your biz.
70 years old. And still has power.
Set on the stage 1972 at my high school and seen him with Black Oak. I was 14 OMG blew me away. That was a long time ago.
Two words........Tommy Aldrige!! Whitesnake is on fire here. Coverdale got's some lungs. Awesome band.
"TOMMY ALDRIDGE ON THE DRUUUUUMMMMSSSS!!!!"
Best song Whitesnake has every written. Awesome vid.
When I hear people say that Tommy's rated lower than Chad Smith it's a joke
Tommy is a god.
Chads more hip that’s why he’s rated higher ,chad good but Tommy is excellent
Those internal mikes really do a good job. Tommy always the kick ass.
I was noticing his tom sound during the solo, but hadn't looked for mikes. Yeah, his kid sounds great, and Tommy's a beast.
Same stuff he’s been doing for 100 years.....and I would STILL pay to see him. One of the greatest dbl bass players of all time, the guy always shows up to play...HARD!! Love this Whitesnake line up....Coverdale can still get after it.
I lost 6 pounds just watching.
My idol! Stole every lick I could from him. His fills with double bass on Tribute and Speak of the Devil are a masterclass of taste and technicality. Legend. He needs to write a tell all memoir.
БЕСПОДОБНО!!! Вот это Уровень всех без исключения музыкантов! Величайшая группа на все времена!!!
Yes👍👍👍
Whitesnake the super group band
The guy that started my love for the drums.
The epitome of a polished routine. Love me some whitesnake !
I saw Tommy play with Pat Travers in the late 70's. Blew me away!
yep, Snortin Whiskey tour
Heat in the Street!🔥
Oh thank you! Tommy Aldridge his the one !
I've seen a lot of bands and this guy will forever be my favorite.
Tommy Aldridge has got to be one of the most under-appreciated and under-rated drummers out there.
You hang out with the wrong crowd; Aldridge is appreciated as fuck. He's a legend. I realize that the only people who give him credit are rockers, but his discography is almost exclusively rock and roll, so it's no surprise that he has a somewhat limited fan base. That's been his choice. To rockers, Tommy Aldridge is fucking appreciated.
Actually, I think he's overrated
@@RockbertoRocks I think you're going to hell for that
@@162534283746 unless you get deeper into discussion with people that know music in general he's not really brought up all that often. People with surface knowledge, basically consumer knowledge, really have no clue who he is.
@@fritzcolburn True. I guess I should have said that among people I'd care to have more than one, brief, conversation with about music, he's appreciated.
Unreal that they get better like sweet wine. Singing is unbelievable! The rest as well. Tommy is a drum god, there is no doubt!!
Holy smokes-- this entire video is absolutely amazing!!!!! Good God!!!!!!!!!!
You know this was done professionally right?
Have to put Tommy in the top 5 drummers of all time, seen Tommy with BOA way back in the day and with Ozzy. Love it when he would play his solo with out the sticks and play with his bare-hands 👍
Playing heavy metal in a blues feel...thank you!
He is from my home town. Taught me how to play double kick. He was much older than me but was patient and a great dude
That's how it's done??? Nothing today can touch it ( TIME LESS!!) 80'S MUSIC???
He is incredibly talented and solid but has done the same solo since Black Oak Arkansas.
Exactly...same solo in more than 45 years
ダグ、アルドリッチ🎸脱退したの⁉️静岡アクトシテー浜松のliveで、サイン🖋️もらったのに、😰変わりに、ナイトレンジャージョエル・に、🎸
Always top notch. Way back with Randy Rhoads, Ozzy, and Rudy Sarzo!
Never get tired of watching him...Amazing drummer...
He is just as vicious today as he was and 1981 with Ozzy. Almost the same solo note for note, but when it's great why change it!! 💀☠💀
Tommy Aldridge was also pretty amazing back when he was playing for Pat Travers... Ever hear the heat in the street album ?

This whole song is awesome.
What’s so amazing about Tommy is the shear number of bands he has played in. And all truly amazing Rock Bands. One of the best and his yrs playing is vast.
Now I understand why he's so fit and healthy at his age.
Blessed to still have his voice! Good job.
Saw Whitsnake live yesterday in Oberhausen, part of The Farewell Tour. Goosebumps. They dont make this kind of music any more. Still it's timeless and heartwarming.
This was absolutely incredible.
