I bought Tommy'a Hotlicks video (yes a VHS!) when I was about 19 years old in the 80's. I loved it, but never did I think that 35 years later (now in my 50's) that I would be still worshipping this incredible drummer. Finally got to see him live in London in 2022. Total bucket-list job.
Well said. He did the US Festivql with Ozzy in ‘83 (just after losing Randy) and one could wel would have thought it the pinnacle of a man’s life. 41 years later, he looks exactly the same and is better maybe, now a veritable god among distinguished men.
He has cut his solo duration by half these days which is fully understandable when you are 69 years old. He is still a machine, in fact I think Tommy is the real Highlander, he seems immortal...
I'm sure doing half his solo with his bare hands has started to take its toll but the man is a rolling freight train for sure,,a machine since the Black Oak Arkansas days

The amazing thing to me is. I remember listening the Whitesnake as a kid in the mid 80’s to the early 90’s! He was a badass drummer then! He has got to be pushing 70 by now. I realize that the only people who give him credit are rockers, but his discography is almost exclusively rock and roll, so it's no surprise that he has a somewhat limited fan base. Saw Whitsnake live yesterday in Oberhausen, part of The Farewell Tour. Goosebumps. They dont make this kind of music any more. Still it's timeless and heartwarming.
