These cars were legendary back in the day for making huge power with minor modifications. Most guys would get intake/exhaust/pulley swap/tune and make huge HP gains. The madmen that got the KB superchargers were destroying every car in races except the occasional modded Z06. Dyno numbers of 650+ weren’t unheard of on modded cobras and that’s back when having over 300hp on a car was considered a lot ( just to put it in perspective). The car scene was crazy then. F&F just came out and imports/tuning culture peaked in popularity. Not to mention guys were driving around with nitrous tanks in their trunk, cars had underglow kits, and spinners were a thing. It was wild.
That's the only Mustang I've ever seen pull out of somewhere into a burnout and not crash immediately afterward. Looks like Ford spent all their engineering resources on perfecting one trim level and left the others to chance!
