I watched the first episode of Banner of the Stars a few months ago, and was simultaneously extremely into it, and also felt like, I cannot watch another SF anime this dense so soon after Dougram. But I think I will return to it next year - that first episode alone had so many interesting ideas. Obsessed with those Sorcerer Hunter designs. Somehow never seen them before, but those are excellent.
Oh loving the Sorcerer Hunter ladies! Love a big hair and a bralette look! I miss the grown and sexy metal type ladies from older animes too, hope we see a revival someday. Hopefully the action and story will be entertaining as well. I havent heard of most of these besudes Yu Yu, makes me want to go on a fun bargin hunt for random stuff too! OMG I own Submarine 707 Revolution. I've had it for like ten years and still haven't watched it. I think it was a Rightstuf Blindbox. Green Legend Ran is one of the last DVD purchases I made from Sentai. The art reminds me of Now and Then Here and There. I'm reading The Wallflower right now, and the ads for manga coming out in 2006 are WILD. Del Rey published a manga about a dog that turns into a girl and falls in love with a boy.
I love that you own 707 r, dude! It's the one with the cute heart sweater! It's worth a watch when you're in the mood for something quick to watch. I enjoyed it! AHAHA, what is the name of this dog to girl manga, I have to know now, talk about a turn mid comment! I wasn't expecting that. But it's true, seeing old ads can remind you of anime and manga that is forgotten about, and it's so interesting. Thanks Dylan!
Very solid titles. I’ve talked about Soul Hunter every now and then. The creature you pointed to on the back of the box is a magic hippo. Very shounen & every iteration (anime or manga) always tells a different story, but has the same cast of main character plus the 100s more later. This might be in reference or inspired by to The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, not fully sure because I haven’t read it. I found the 2018 reboot to be just as fun as well. Sorcerer Hunter is just fun. It has the most vile version of the Zagato (Magical Knights Rayearth) character type I’ve ever seen. Plus Megumi Hashiabara. Both have great music. I hope you enjoy these.
The Yu Yu Hakusho: The Movie is amazing, it's definitely a great addition to the anime series! There actually is another movie in the series and this time it's movie length, it's called Yu Yu Hakusho the Movie: Poltergeist Report, but unfortunately I can't say I enjoyed that one lol. I think Soul Hunter had a new anime adaptation a few years ago and the fans of the manga said the original anime(the one that you have on DVD) is still a better adaptation, so there's that as a random piece of trivia. Sorcerer Hunters does look cute, I also enjoy that specific anime character design style! Plus I love Slayers so anything with a similar vibe is welcome. Also side note I replied to your comment on your recent manga haul video in case you missed it ^.^
Honestly same, it takes me months to look through bargain bins and used dvd shelfs, but I'm also very lucky that I have 3 to 4 stores that always have some anime around. Keep looking and I bet you will find some real gems near you!
Gargantia was wonderful! I completely forgot all about it. Yu Yu Hakusho I need to rebuy the movie. I traded it in cause at the time I didn’t appreciate Classics apparently lol 😢 I always thought Banner of the stars & Crest of the stars we’re connected. Love the advertisements inside! Arjuna was so boring yet I still love it cause it was one of my first animes when I wasn’t being told what to watch by friends. If that makes sense. .hack/signs that brings back memories for sure!!! I need to try to hunt that one down. Sorcerer Hunters and Of the stars I need to make it a point to look for next year. Surprisingly I've never watched that Yu Yu Hakusho movie, but I do own the other film called Yu Yu Hakusho The Movie: Poltergeist Report. That one wasn't very good lol. I'm actually rereading Yu Yu Hakusho right now. Definitely one my favorites. I use to always see Submarine 707 Revolution in used dvd stores. I always thought that the cover looked pretty cool lol. Garagantia sounds really interesting. I've been meaning to watch another mech series. So I gotta watch this someday. Really awesome haul Val!
