  • As always, Thank You for Watching!
I just had a real itch to collect some older funimation titles, and thought it would be nice to keep all of them in one video. Tell me in the comments which of these you have or loved watching ^^
I will have another Blu ray Haul up soon. I can't promise when, as life has been a little hectic for me these past couple of months.

    Scrapped Princess is so underrated.
Haibane Renmei is a great philosophical anime.
Zombieland Saga season 2 is hilarious.

Excellent! I'm very happy to read all of that, and that means I need to hunt down a copy of Zombieland Saga season 2, thank you ^^

Doesn't it just look so cool!? I had been meaning to get this Zillion set since it was announced, so I'm late to it, but it's great XD

Keijo has similar rules as roller derby but with more butt bumping.
    I had fun watching it.
The preview for All Out!! is too long.
    I had fun watching C^3.
Scrapped Princess is as you described.
    Same creator of Chaika.

Keijo fascinates me, because I love how pretty much anything can be turned into an anime, and I expect I'm in for a good time ^^
Cool cool, I look forward to C^3, sometimes when I read online hate for an anime, I ask myself if it's really that bad or if it got the dogpile treatment, I would rather own it and find out watching it myself than never trying.
Interesting that Scrapped princess is from the same creator as Chaika, I didn't know that (also didn't look into it that much yet haha) I'll have to pick up Chaika at some point as well.
      Thanks Ogy~

I love Scrapped Princess! I need to rewatch that now! It's a fun fantasy show with a great cast of characters.
I'm so behind on anime, I feel like the last one I finished was in 2019. haha I have been meaning to watch Habanei Renmei and Zombie Land Saga

Awww you're great Dylan! You've been reading SO much more than I have, and you can start any anime at any time, doesn't matter when the last one was for you ^^ Go for the Dub for Zombie Land Saga, I think you would really enjoy that one : D

Haibane Renmei is amazing, I'm sure it'll live upto your memories and more. My most recent rewatch last year had me upgrading its score to a 10/10. Just utterly beautiful, the type of show that doesn't get made enough.
Well I had totally dismissed Meiji Tokyo Renka as a royalty centric harem show from the keyart. But the time travelling, the period it's set in etc you mentioned has me more interested and it's pretty well rated. I'll have to give this a watch sometime.
Okay Idol shows of either gender is something I actively avoid (gigi forgive me) so probably won't be watching Starmyu. Which is funny really because if they were say not doing singing and dancing but instead some obscure hobby or sport I'd be all over it and the formula is basically the same. Definitely prefer the reverse cover as well, the essential releases with the Blu Ray banner as well is questionable design from Funimation's graphic design department.
ngl didn't expect to see Keijo lol. I've been pushed to watch this for awhile by friends but as yet not been enlightned by the butt bumping show, I suppose this would count as a sports anime? so probably just a matter of time. I like the disc art with the water wave. Weird tidbit from my anime collecting journey over the years...you know how with video games classic survival horror games are super collectable and often very expensive? Well in the world of OOP anime ecchi shows hold a similar status lol. A large majority of the boob shows that Funimation/Sentai put out in the early 2010's are quite pricey.
The Funimation/CR merger really has sucked so far for home video which isn't surprising. The amount of releases CR do every month has really cut down from before and some titles you just would've expected to come out by now still haven't, still waiting on that last Eureka Seven film. And yes it does appear the cheaper rereleases may be going away. Now if only they could do sales like Sentai do and then maybe that might not be too bad.
Probably mentioned in your previous videos but Ace Attorney is a show I would love to get to, I've never played any of the games though but the general court room drama genre is a favourite of mine.
OMG that inside art for Zombie Land Saga?! love it XD
It scares me to think how much money I would spend in Half Price Books if it was local, it would be pretty bad lol. Anime collection would be even bigger, the movie collection the same. I'd probably have a proper manga collection too. So much restraint would be required.
I vaguely remember playing the Master System version of Zillion back in the day. Always loved how the Master System lightgun was based on the gun from this show. Been meaning to watch it forever, listened to the soundtrack a bunch but never seen more than the first episode. I'm going to watch it as my 1987 (birth year and the year it came out) Anime, I'm on 1946 so won't be too long now. I think Funimation licensed this around the same time they got Speed Racer, was such a weird turn for them, I think I'm right in saying this remains the only non Dragon Ball TV series from the 80's they ever put out.
The best part of 80's Sci Fi Anime design is all the tech and the immense detail that was often put into it. Would really love to see a modern Anime come out that looks exactly like an 80's show. With the over saturation of shows we get now surely there is room for something like this, if only to help a series stand out if aything.
Scrapped Princess is another favourite of mine, it was wthin the first 20 Anime I ever watched. It has such a well written story, Solid Fantasy with abit of Sci-Fi thrown in. The main character is alittle grating but quickly becomes likable and her guardians/older siblings are just awesome. Jam Project opening is so incredible. Truly amazing show! I remember marathoning 18 episodes of this show in one sitting, it was my first rewatch of it and I was quite ill and totally just crashed on the sofa with blankets and medicine and just lost my self in it.
Code Geass is a series I became a fan of quite slowly. First time through I remember not enjoying it as much, mainly due to the weird transition from where season one ends and the second season begins. But when I got the blu rays through I put them in to check the quality and before I knew it I finished the disc and did a rewatch of the whole show and loved it. Finally got the Exiled OVA series recently so I might be watching some Code Geass stuff pretty soon.
Another Great Haul Val, really enjoyed it :D

Haibane Renmei is wonderful, and I just know I'll get emotional on a rewatch. I've been having so much fun going back to old favorites, especially now that I'm older and I have seen way more anime. The classics truly remain classic, and I get overly emotional about it (because I'm clearly a big weenie ahahaha).
Meiji Tokyo Renka is totally a shoujotrash show (c'mon get your hot boys!) but then it has a time wizard and these specific historical figures that take it to another level ahaha. I just like it, and there is a really cute little song and dance she does about how useful electricity is, so it is totally self aware as well. Not groundbreaking, but a fun little show.
      Someday I'll do a deep dive into a bunch of Idol shows (I have plenty) and figure out why Idol shows feel so different from other hobby/niche shows. Because you are right, there really is a difference between them, but I can't put my finger on it somehow ^^ I'll like an Idol show if I like the characters, Idolish 7 did a good job with that. Starmyu I think went on to 3 season or something, so I'm behind with it anyway ^^;
Keijo was just so funny to see in a shop (I'm pretty sure it was from my local half price books). I am the kind of person that will go "OH that's so funny it's here... I'm buying it" And the mystery of no one wanting to shop with me continues XD
But yes! the Art looks nice for Keijo. Oh boy, I have no idea when I'll get to watching it, but when we both get to it we should totally do a podcast-y episode about it XD And yeah,Ii think it counts as a sport? I'm good with that, sports anime it is then ^^
Oh man really!? I don't usually go out of my way for ecchi (I'm totally good with it, even though I people have said I don't seem the type LOL) but I am fascinated that some of the older ones have gone up in price!? Like it's own little collecting circle? Why does that makes me smile haha, I'll have to look up some titles out of curiosity.
Yeah the merger has been... boring so far. I had thought CR would be putting out so many titles to cash in on everything, but as you have said, it seems like way less. A true bummer.
Ace Attorney is fun! Both in Game and in Anime form ^^
That inner art is a perfect example of the kind of humore Zombie land saga has, and yes I love that art too XD
      It's actually a good thing my HPB is a solid hour away from me, I ALWAYS find something when I go there. It's too easy to spend way too much money >.>;;;
We are both 1987 babies! (Hell Yeah!) but I totally agree, the way the mechanics and technology are depicted in 80s and 90s anime are top notch. I always love it. Man Zillion really did come out around speed racer time huh? What an insane time for funi. Kinda sad we wont see sets like this again (I still love my big dumb speed racer head ahahaha)
It really did my heart good reading how much you loved Scrapped Princess ^^ Makes me really happy that I got my set when I did. I'll letg you know when I start watching that one for sure : D I'm sure I'll be ok with the protag, because I still loved fushigi yugi when I watched it last year XD
OH we had very different Code Geass experiences XD (nothing wrong with that by the way) So it has just come out back when I was in college and EVERYONE around me was crazy for it (had friends who cosplayed the characters from it even) So I went into it with a lot of hyped friends around me. I think that colored my impressions with it, so it will always have a soft spot in my heart) It's an odd, but I like it, and I agree with you, I way prefer the first season. This time I'll make sure I finish it all the way through, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it as well!
Happy you enjoyed this mess of a haul ahahaha, and I always love having these comment exchanges with you, so thank you Blaize! : D
