You can't jumper these channels as he said, you have to use a "Y" cable to combine the channels, or an A-B-Y pedal.

Both handwired means my amp tech would be able to do the repairs.

I'd suggest a vintage alnico Jensen 15" to replace the speaker. The modern ceramic is a bit crunchy in comparison. Otherwise it sounds very much like my original 59 Pro.
I’m still looking for that UA-cam amp review in which the manufacturer says “You know, this amp really does not take pedals well. It hates pedals. Do not ever try using pedals with it. If you so much as bring a pedal into the same room with this amplifier, it will start hissing and crackling at you like a pissed-off cobra eating Corn Nuts.”
How did these guys keep their hearing with that twin on 10?!
This Twin is the 5E8-A circuit, so it's only 40 watts instead of 80 as they became in 1958-1959.

You mean if it's "more gain" or "less wattage"?
no Ameer! there are 2 kind of 57 twins. one is a low powered amp, i think it's 25 watts, the other one is the high powered ( maybe 80 watts?!?) and that is the one that Bonamassa uses in the last years. I only want to know if the one in the video is a high powered or low powered. In any case it sounds beatiful. Ciao!!

Take a peek and see how many power tubes are in there
Two 6l6s = lp
Four 6l6 = high power
The 57 were the low powered ones (40 watts). The 59 (maybe 58 as well, I cant remember) were the high power twins (80 watts).
Please tune up.
Caps are caps. Mojo dijons or mallory 150,s will do it.
Bought the '57 Twin Amp in January of this year and it stopped working at a gig last night. It started distorting and got really quiet, then produced a puff of smoke and stopped working. I really thought that Fender Custom Shop amps would be reliable. Now this is going to be a big hassle because I live way up North and have to ship it back to the store to have it fixed. I promptly ordered a Blues Cube - hopefully without any tubes, it will be more reliable.
Sorry you had that experience but that is always the concern with tubes, no matter which brand. I always carry a spare set just in case.
Yep, and that blues cube will sound terrible compared to the 57 twin.
It's just crazy to make a tweed amp and not have a tremolo in it ...
How do you attenuate these?
With a dummy load and a ss reamp.

Hand wired means i can make them myself but my wife would scream louder than either amp!
The Custom Twin is way nicer sounding than the harsh 64 Custom Deluxe or the Custom Pro.
So is the price.
I own and use a Squier Tele, so no badmouthing Fender guitars. But why did they use humbucker equipped guitars to test Fender amps? Hmmmmmm.

Fender has been using the "widerange" in attempts to rake in some of the sales in the les paul 'bucker area in the early 70s i do belive with the tele delux right?
1972 i think,also Seth lover, the creator of the "paf" pickups also designed the "wide range" for fender

I’m glad they did. I have a Les Paul and it’s great to hear what a humbucker sounds like through the amp.
Amps sound great, although the bloke on the left looks like his hairdresser had to run out on him halfway through the job.
That Twin's got balls. The Pro sounds weak by comparison. I have the Supro Thunderbolt with the 15" speaker and I don't like it so much.
I have a pro. Does not sound weak AT ALL :-).
I have one of these amps. None of the vids on UA-cam do it a shred of justice. It's actually very impressive in person. It has an incredible scope of frequencies. From low to high, it's got it all. And much more usable at low volume than my 5e3. Which was a nice added bonus. The only criticism I have is that the speaker started to struggle a bit with the low notes at high volume with the neck pickup on my Les Paul. But all in all I'm so happy with it. Glad I got one while they were around.
A better deal than a fender tweed is a UK made vox. Don't waste you money on these overpriced amps. I do like the twin amp though
