So as I'm typing this, its been about 6 months since this video has been made, and it is now in my top most viewed videos, and it constantly pops up in my "Most watched in the past 48 hours" as well, so people are still finding this and watching it, and I believe its time I make a statement on this. I did this video on Chibi because there wasn't really a nice compact video on his story, that's what I usually aim for, stories that haven't been told a thousand times. I did genuinely feel bad for him and his family getting doxxed and sent pizzas, while they argue on stream, I DESPISED the way he talked to his mother though. I knew about the fundraiser and the funeral, and you know I HAD to mention that funeral due to its infamy. (That fundraiser hijack is funny to me still, fight me) But the issue is, I tried to tow this line between being funny and being sympathetic, and it just didn't land for a lot of people. I am 100% hamming it up during that funeral scene to try and be haha funny, if you find it in bad taste I don't blame you. I still get comments all the time accusing me of picking on him and siding with the trolls (Some people legit accused me of being the guy who called his mom in the video) And as multiple comments have pointed out, I left out a very important piece of info: Chibi has a history of being a sex pest. The only thing I knew about before making this vid was him being 19 and sending nudes to a 17 year old. However, weeks after I made this video, he got kicked from a convention for trying to solicit nudes from a girl, and then I started seeing people bring up his past crimes of that, only then did I learn of the laundry list of times he acted like that (Some of them are ALLEGED to be underage too). I had no clue about any of this until after the fact, if I had the ability to go back in time and include that in the video I 100% would. That was a huge research failure on my part. Basically, I did my job with the sympathetic angle too well, now this video sort of exists in this weird limbo where I got hundreds of thousands to see the crap this man went through, but at the same time didn't really mention any of the bad stuff he did so people get this idea that he only cheated at a speedrun and nothing else, that alone lead to years of harassment, and therefore I'm making fun of him for that. The sex pest stuff was also a factor in the trolling, and no, being a sex pest does not make doxxing him and his mother suddenly ok. I just didn't like the way he treated her on stream, so that was sort of the thing that pushed me into the angle I went for. TL; DR This video is very flawed and needed a lot of work. It was the first time I made a video like this so I guess its to be expected. This is pure cope I know.
I came across a compilation of the clingiest moments on Livestreams about a month ago and I was so entranced by the clip of Chibi on the couch I had to find out more. Came across this video and haven't looked back. Keep up the good work.
I felt like something was missing from this video when the sex pest stuff wasint mentioned! haha. It would have made a stark change of tone in the video though. But a good chunk of his downfall did involve with him being a huge pest. Overall I still enjoyed the video, even with some of its flaws.
2:56 The way he enters a rage, picks the chair up, and in a brief moment of clarity thinks better of throwing it a moment before disaster. Such raw human emotion.
I'm sorry, but the dude at 1:53 whose parents rained praise and admiration over him for beating the world speedrun record for Mario 64 like he fucking cured cancer was the most wholesome thing I've ever seen. I know that, because of his age, the internet will call him pathetic, but there's just something beautiful about having that kind of support.
I don't think there is without further context. If his parents support him overall and help him throughout his life, then that's amazing. But by itself, that kind of reaction to an achievement which ultimately is meaningless except in certain circles of the internet is definitely a little pathetic.
@@littlemoth4956 It will never be pathetic for any person, even a grown man, to recieve kindness, apreciation, and support from his loved ones. In essence, that's what everyone wants in this life, love from your loved ones, and seeing someone have that should make you feel good, happy for him, happy for his parents, not "cringe". I myself would give up so much in order to have something simillar to what he has, I'm an extremely lonely person and the few people around me doesn't understand me and I don't understand them, the idea of someone hugging me after I've done something meaningless to most but meaningful to me sounds like a dream to me.
That's Simply and his mother is one of the most wholesome people ever. Watch his Twitch and she comes into the chat quite frequently. So heartwarming. That clip gets me every time

Yeah I feel bad for him on this one. He's obviously trying to do something wholesome but he just doesn't realise how cringey the whole thing is, likely due to his autism
@@holtster His ability to sing isnt cringe, its the fact that he sang that was perceived as cringe. Even if he had good intentions, lots of people thought streaming a fake funeral on its own was disrespectful, and the song didnt help much

I think the mock funeral part is even funnier when you see well-meaning people going "oh my god chibi what are you DOING" in chat and their messages being deleted a second later by mods lmao
I feel kinda bad laughing because it clearly means a lot to him and he's sincere about it but I just can't help myself from getting a chuckle over it. The graphics in the background make it so much funnier.
I honestly don't get the general opinion, that dude was starting to get annoying while that dude was trying to focus. Granted the runner was also kinda annoying
21:50 "Let's just say, if you were a fujoshi, you were having a field day on this stream" This single sentence would send a frail victorian child flying like a skyrim shout
I didn't get the reference because I'm not a freaking weeb but I did understand because it was taking about trolling his stream with gay porn and the image of sexual degeneracy in the characters glasses that they must be a deviant pervert hence the joke that they would enjoy it thoroughly. You people watching cartoon pornography are seriously unhealthy and really need to stop, no joke. Anime conventions are the saddest most pathetic collection of mind warped individuals that I have ever seen in my entire life, and believe me I've attended multiple not because I love anime because I don't even watch any, I just love social atmospheres where there's tons of people having fun and there is some really good cosplay that happens like the people in giant space Marines armor suits and all that and I enjoy doing it myself though it's always been the character hunk from resident evil. The cosplay gets cringe though when people take being in character way too far and it honestly gets embarrassing, and I know it's mainly autistic people with no self awareness because the normal self aware people never get cringe with it and are very easy to take photos with without feeling weird about it, like the photos I got with this girl dressed up like one of the chainsaw sisters posing as if she was cutting my head off with her chainsaw prop, or the girls dressed up like pokemon that I took pictures of pretending to capture them with a plushie pokeball I brought just for that purpose, some guys as well like this dude in a gengar costume. All in all, you need to stop seriously destroying your mind with the pornography it's so insanely bad for you it's terrible.
Honestly I cringed harder from the fact that the speed runner wasn’t being considerate toward her. I mean seriously he couldn’t even acknowledge her for one second. She was dealing with something tragic and it was totally 100% warranted for her to throw that burden on all these random people and speedrunner that she’s never met. Sarcasm

For me, I could boot up any of the games I've speedrun and enjoy them casually and still have fun. If speedrunning a game stops being fun I'll stop running it, even if it means I can't get a world record in it. I do genuinely feel bad for some speedrunners but others are just hurting themselves and need to take a step back.
Min/max'ing a game you once enjoyed is a VERY quick way to hate it because your milking the game until it is nothing left but the soulless husk of what it once was It's no wonder most speedrunners are mentally unstable, you get nothing from speedrunning and you spend years getting a record that doesn't really mean much at the end of the day. I am not saying it's bad but I am saying it takes a very ironwilled mindset to speedrun, at least at pro level
I still don't get why this guy was doxxed. Was he a weird person? Sure. Did he cheat in one of his runs? Yeah. But none of that warrants leaking his address. Edit: Like another commenter, I wrote this based on the information I got from the video. I didn't know he was a creep.
That's the lolcow culture, basically - finding someone who behaves weirdly and/or did something morally questionable, and then bullying the hell out of them under the pretense of "they deserve it".
Because they are insecure about being broken and fucked up. So they take it all out on people that are just as fucked up as them as a way of coping. Also this doesn't apply to all trolls though.
Deep down, they know that it could’ve been them on that couch next to CavemanDCJ cracking their cringy unfunny jokes, then having their entire life trajectory changed after being told to shut up
Caveman did nothing wrong honestly, when you have someone like Chibi who struggles to understand non-verbal communication eventually you have to say what you need to say to them directly. Since Chibi is obviously disabled (or at least "different") it would have been the more mature thing to just ignore him maybe, but he was actively being annoying and attention-seeking. Lots of people say that Caveman should have been nicer, but I can imagine that it would infuriating to come all the way to this event to demonstrate something you're passionate about, and whose mans is this materialises out of nowhere and interrupts you constantly.
to be fair to Chibi, Caveman was encouranging Chibi's banter a lot before he eventually told him "I prefer you be quiet". I suppose Cavemen was being politely but he would respond to every single one of Chibi's side-comments before telling him to be quiet.
I love how, apparently, being awkward and caught cheating is enough justification to completely ruin a family's life, including people who had NOTHING to do with it, and then the whole mess is given a "Well it sucks but WHAT A LOLCOW!!!" treatment. Top notch empathy.
The person who made this video did not cover it, but Chibi did have some sexually charged conversations with a teen that was exposed, and his mother was informed, the infamous "he has autism" statement did not come from anywhere else but after hearing her son sent dick pics to an underage girl. So, the maker of this video KNOWS the context of the autism statement and chose not to mention it. Congrats on actually being misled.
@mycocodog47 Okay, while that IS horrible that isn't a justification for all the attacks on his family. And even if it was, the perpetrators aren't doing this because of some sense of justice, it's because he's an easy target no one will notice or care about.
@@UnderdarkTrans None of his family would have been targeted if Chibi didn't do the things he did, through his actions he dragged others down with him and with absolutely no hint of regret. He has on multiple occasions been caught doing wrong, and each time his response was simply apathetic at best, he could listen to his own mother literally beg and plead for him to do the right thing and he will continue doing the opposite. Literally the same phone call discussed about his mom bringing up autism to deflect the possible predator charges that Chibi can be hit with, DURING A PHONE CALL in which Chibi is present in the room, a call regarding an underage girl, CHIBI STARTS TWEETING ABOUT IT. His mom was convinced he was doing his social security, as she asked, but no he was again digging a hole to drag them both in

The guy who was calling was doing it to fuck with his family, I know that's confirmed. I probably should have waited when making this video, because later I did hear stuff about him trying to blackmail PewDiePie and shortly after I made this video he got kicked from a convention from trying to solicit nudes from someone, I think I probably should have done a better job at covering the "sex pest" stuff.

Yeah, cheating is something I really despise and hate with a burning passion, but never should cheating in a videogame justify ruining not only the person's life, but also his mom's aswell. Even if there's money and competition on the line, it's just on the lowest spectrum of morality, and way more scummy imo. He was just some misguided dude, who probably had the same amount of awkward and cringey moments as those making fun of him - except those moments were livestreamed to thousands of people instead of contained to a few. glad to hear shits better now though.
Nah man, the internet collective is just trying to catch up on all of the bullying he should have received in his formative years. Cringy autists need to get pushed within social norms.
They most likely doxxed him for how many underage girls he was trying to sleep with in his community I say this because I had him on Facebook and know what type of messed up person he is (I didn’t dox him I removed him from social media and didn’t even knew he streamed) it’s kind of bad when you go to an anime convention and there are groups of guys protecting underage girls from him
It's fraud. Cheating speedrunners get monetary donations from people on the basis of them being actually good at a game, and so cheating at speedrunning means they fraudulently got money from people. It's literally a crime. Unless they block the ability for anyone to donate anything, then they're effectively stealing from people. That's why it's important. There's actual victims, here.
@@duffman18 so? just report him to the police with the evidence you have... his family should not be harassed nor should he be doxxed. Doxxing someone could have way too severe consequences
As someone with aspergers syndrome, I would have really preferred how caveman was honest and direct. You think aspergers was a factor in chibi cheating? Why do you think chibi was mean ti his mom and made her cry? Why do you think chibi refused to go to bed late at night and started fighting with his mom? Does azpergers make chibi act these ways?
I’ll say this, any speed runner that has the physical ability to even pull off half a jumping jack is a success. And this guy did like 10. That is 5 jumping jacks.
Cheating in a kid's video game is sad. But calling up the speedrunner's mom and lying to her by saying that her son has been involved in illegal activities with a 17 year old is absolutely pathetic.
People just hate him because he is awkward. Like, how many people have been caught cheating and didn't have anything out of the ordinary done to them? The only reason he and his (recently widowed mother, remember) had to put up with harrassment, is because he's the please stay quiet kid. And this is way worse when you remember he's actually autistic, which itself makes it obvious why he would be awkward, or not really understand social cues. This is just thinly veiled ableism and no amount of reddit logic can convince me otherwise. People just spotted an easy target and were horrible to him because they were hidden behind anonimity.
Projection lol. People tend to hate those who remind them of the parts they hate about themselves and most likely everyone who dogged on him wasn't much better.

Well, many people unknowingly become what they hate. They'd love to torture bad guys to be the hero without realizing that they're doing the exact thing that the bad guys did, sometimes even worse. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I feel like they're always just looking for an excuse to justify doing this to someone. It's always the same people who get super upset about celebrities and other prominent figures being shunned for doing things far worse than just cheating in a speedrun or just being annoying once on a livestream too.

Telling corny jokes, cheating once in a speedrun and not singing too well in an otherwise well-intentioned tribute doesn't deserve being doxxed, having a fundraiser sabotaged and months of relentless harassment. Who are the _real_ cringy ones in this story? Would I be annoyed by Chibi if I ever met him? Perhaps, but neither he nor his obviously stressed out mother deserved any of this beyond the "I'd prefer if you stayed quiet". I can't defend sending unsolicited nudes, though. Don't ever do that.
Ironically, most people who participate in the culture of bullying or "observing" lolcows are on the spectrum. It's best not to get involved, it's invalids mocking each other for literally anything. If you have a functioning brain you can see something's not quite right about any of it.
There was no sending of unsolicited nudes, that's not real. AFAIK there is only sending nudes with someone, which is wild to be upset over when the age difference was only 2 years...
This video didn’t cover it, but the real reason people are obsessed with pestering Chibi is because he’s known to be extremely inappropriate with girls and sending people unsolicited nudes. He was kicked out and banned from a convention because people complained to the staff that Chibi had been sending them nudes and soliciting from others to do the same. You can find his naked pics, too (don’t recommend you do). There are some other stuff that was just alleged, but this was confirmed and was the main motivator for dunking on him and kicking him off the speedrunning and convention space.

Yes but let’s not forget that reacting with that sort of praise to your son’s speed run isn’t going to encourage your son to seek greener pastures outside your home. If I had a 20+ year old kid still living at my house and all they were doing was speed running video games (unless they were severely autistic or something, which may very well, if not probably, be the case for that guy) I would force them out of my house.
You're quite arrogant there, but you're not wrong. I'm currently a starving artist, novelist and a composer. Even then you have to be lucky to get somewhere, but speed running is still way too niche. And he made up a convincing lie that he accidentally played on a modded version of the game he uses for other content or something -after going as far as to hire of some kind of professional science person to "prove" him innocent.- Of course people forgave him.
I wouldn't say they forgave him, if you ask anyone who's not a fan of him nor his content, you'll probably find out that he's not that popular after his cheating
The main reason (unfortunately) is that chibo doesn't have the social skills to Garner a large crowd into respecting him, while dream does. Chibo by technically didn't do anything worse than dream, but he was unable to play into it enough to make it lighthearted partially due to having autism. which makes it hard to change or understand the context of things. the way you described each person on the couch had me in stitches LMAO. love your sense of humor. i do feel bad for chibi, and his mom especially. yes cheating is bad, but cheating a speedrun really is not grounds for doxxing.
As someone who's like Chibi in the couch situation, I would be extremely embarrassed myself. I tend to talk a lot and sometimes, I have trouble being told to be quiet and people can be that harsh to me. I've been told to shut up and stop talking because I was annoying. I also didn't understand if someone liked me as a friend because I thought "They aren't completely telling me 'no', so I can keep talking, right?" Telling me outright to be quiet in a rude tone just embarrass me and the person who told me to be quiet. It's much better and polite to saying something like "Hey, I'm trying to focus on the game and as much as I'm fine with you talking, I need you to be quiet for now, okay? You can talk when I give you the cue to." Instead. It's at least less mean and more polite. I feel like Chibi isn't at complete fault for that but I do have a bit more social awareness than he does, if i'm honest. Plus, I imagined myself in his shoes and cringed. I would absolutely hate to be humiliated like that along with the people around me!
The sad part is that he probably did it because it was being filmed. It's just an autistic person trying to add some entertainment to an otherwise really dull stream, but because of said autism, he doesn't pick up on it being obnoxious.
While it may be “rude” to tell someone to shut up, it’s also rude to keep talking just because no one tells you to stop. By the time you have to ask someone to stop talking, you’re going to be beyond annoyed. 99% of people don’t need to be told to stop talking so it’s frustrating to come across someone who does. I guess all I’m saying is it goes both ways… Some people just need to work on their self awareness. Also, the people who need to be told to stop talking typically don’t pick up on polite hints. By the time someone tells you to shut up, they’d probably already given you tons of hints you just didn’t pick up. Sometimes you have to be direct.
@@weenerb2959 Nah, I totally understand that! It's just hard to tell and I know it's not always rude or it's justified rudeness but it still hurts. Though, I've personally gotten better and knowing when to be quiet.

Yes, the case of Chibi is sad, but I’d concur from just the fact that later along the line, he improved and became self aware of his old shenanigans and want to improve from it. Also just the fact that despite how many curve balls life threw at him, he still kept going, and as someone on the spectrum that goes through that exact thing in life, that’s admirable. I can tip my hat to that. Most cases of gaming streamers like for example Wings Of Redemption all end on a horribly sad note where they either never change at all or change for the worse.

I stopped watching him after a bit when other big UA-camrs started hitting the scene, totally unaware of him breaking into speedrunning and causing a lot of controversies over time. I was shocked years later when I would see Pewdiepie react to his cringe GDQ moment and then learn he was more or less exiled from the speedrunning community for cheating and generally being unpleasant.
I was watching this video while sketching, but I couldn't help but look up to watch that runner's parents celebrate alongside him getting the WR. I genuinely teared up, and you really opened a new perspective to me on why these runs can mean so much to these people. Really beautiful to see hours of labor finally bloom into fruits to be celebrated.
6:32 I love your quote here, "Sooooo it seems Chibi had an edgy phase in his teenage years. Hey, we were all young once, we did stupid sh*t...athophkjclvzhscijohkapeotiaspdhofjgaksh;gjlasphlfasdf;d."
Forsooth, I say! I hereby declare your entertainment involving manipulation of pixels casted by light onto a screen at a rapid pace to be partaken in a dishonest manner, my good man!
GOD FUCKING DAMN IT ON THE FUNERAL PART I WAS LITERALLY LIKE "oh fuck nooooo is he gonna start singing or something" AND THEN IT HAPPENED, MY REACTION WAS THE SAME AS YOURS
One of the best comments I've seen on that horrific embarrassing clip was something along the lines of "Shout out to the two tombstones on either side of the couch for being absolutely silent for the whole run." Honestly though, props to Chibi for making an absolute snore-fest of a stream at least entertaining, even if it was insanely, awfully cringe inducing. Nobody would have ever, *ever* remembered such a boring stream if it weren't for Chibi.
Without both of them. You couldn't have one without the other. Without the other guy, it would've simply been some awkward guy, clearly on the spectrum, making cringeworthy statements... which would not have received this vitality on its own. It took the guy shutting him down to make that clip truly classic.
Well the event was speedrunning Tomba 2, so anyone who think its a snore-fest are free not to watch the stream? I think people who actually enjoy watching speedruns dont need chit-chating from the spectactors.
It was remembered because he was called out for being annoying lmao and it's not that valuable of a moment loool it's funny but not much else, like its a popular clip because people think chibi was being annoying
Autism really is a powerful thing, because I immediately recognized the background music in this segment as being from Earthworm Jim 3D. 16:00 The track title is called Happy Pizza it plays during the introduction where Jim gets hit in the head of the cow and during the level "Are You Hungry Tonight?"
People seem to not remember nowadays that Chibi was someone CavemanDCJ never met, Caveman never asked for him to be there, and never even played the game. The couch is meant for people to co-commentate and otherwise be helpful to the speedrunner. But you have this guy who joins the crowded couch, talks nonstop, makes unfunny jokes, and takes the attention away from Caveman's run (you know, something he had to prepare for and work towards for a long time). There is a reason why people tended to take Caveman's side online early on, but nowadays, it seems like people who don't have the full context or understanding start taking Chibi's side. Being cringe where you aren't even supposed to be and taking attention away from the guy who worked hard to be there is not something to defend. You covered it pretty well. However, I would say the knitting girl is worse.
it's really not that serious. the guy just wanted to have fun because he was *invited* to sit alongside and watch. blame the guy who invited him if you really think it was wrong for him to be there.
So basically people who are autistically into speed running will take caveman's side while normies who know nothing about speed running will take chibi's side.
I initially took Caveman's side until I saw his video right after, where he was acting like some tough guy, and I'm like "nevermind, BOTH of these people are fucking idiots"
@@GOTTA_RUN Nah, people who doesn't know the context and just jump in on the bandwagon will take Chibi's side, regardless if they're speedrunner or not.
@@i_like_lemons i wouldnt take either side, they both stupid as shit, one being cringe trying to lighten up the mood but making it worse, the other being borderline autistic
I just feel bad for his mom and have ill will towards the trolls who brought it to her home. Like, ok, mess with the guy a little but don't take it too far for something so insubstantial.
Am I missing something? I don't see a single thing wrong with the funeral stream. It's a bit weird and funny at worst but he's clearly being sincere and only wanted to show his respect for someone he cared about. A lot of Chibi's worst moments seem to only be exacerbated by the fact that everyone viewing them has the emotional intelligence of a 14 year old.
the real autists are the virgins giving smack and doxxing him that have nothing else going on in their life and never felt a womans touch and their only joy is bullying this poor guy.
Agreed. I honestly feel bad for the people bullying him, because of how sad their lives must be. I mean ruining a charity stream.. really?? And harassing his poor mother, like don't these guys have anything better to do.
I still get comments all the time accusing me of picking on him and siding with the trolls (Some people legit accused me of being the guy who called his mom in the video)
And as multiple comments have pointed out, I left out a very important piece of info: Chibi has a history of being a sex pest.
Part 2 when? :3
Still a very good video
I came across a compilation of the clingiest moments on Livestreams about a month ago and I was so entranced by the clip of Chibi on the couch I had to find out more. Came across this video and haven't looked back. Keep up the good work.
I felt like something was missing from this video when the sex pest stuff wasint mentioned! haha. It would have made a stark change of tone in the video though. But a good chunk of his downfall did involve with him being a huge pest. Overall I still enjoyed the video, even with some of its flaws.
On the other hand, those who don't feel bad for him will enjoy Mister Metokur's content on him, very worth a watch.

People just spotted an easy target and were horrible to him because they were hidden behind anonimity.

i have seen the gdq clip where he gets asked to be quiet over and over again. and still after all these years it still makes me cringe. this one moment has so much power.
Caveman doesn’t have great social skills either monotone and dull.
Dream was caught cheating and people quickly forgave him
Dream has a large audience of 11 year olds that'll SIMP for him any day of the week.
Like the fact that he is generally awkward and doesn't have much of a persona when speedrunning vs dream who is "cool" makes people judge him more for small mistakes. Like he couldve made his next ttyd run more funny by being sarcastic and going "oh look guys, I'm going to do the double jump glitch again" and laugh about it, and people would eventually get over it for example.

I would absolutely hate to be humiliated like that along with the people around me!

@@orples3000 Thank you! That's certainly a surprise to read, haha!
