  • How rebuild a typical Shore Station winch tube.
    Pretty much same from 2500-6k. As long as it’s the standard “2” cable with snatch block. This method will work.
    1-winch cable
    2-lift cable.
    Yes. I understand I called it “sinch” block. Ah well.

      Depends on your skill set. You can buy a new one for 800$ plus ship. I was probably 165$ into this.

    Do you have a part # for the loop cable with double ends? I’m rebuilding mine and want to make sure I order the right one

      Well. Make sure you’re ordering the right one for you specific lift too.
      But I used this
      www.boatliftanddock.com/product/1215/shorestation-non-oem-galvanized-lift-cable-3110030
      All the supporting lift part numbers are listed.
      I used galvanized vs stainless as it is better for constant wrap and unwrapping. It’s also better when rubbing on itself.
      Not so much of an issue on the lift cable. But it is on the winch cable.

      Thank you so much! Unfortunately I can’t find a make/model of the lift anywhere on it. I looked everywhere. Everything on your video though looks identical to what I’m dealing with so I think I’m just going to have to roll the dice. Thank you so much for the video! Very helpful!

      @@michaelgonzalez9887 no problem super easy to tell.
      The 5-6k lifts have a 6 3/4” pulley.
      If you can’t fit that big a pulley into the winch tube, you have a 4k and under lift. Those pulleys are 4 1/2”

    What is the length of the winch cable?

      @RonixViva  18 днів тому

      I believe 15’ 6” or so.

    Doing the same exact rebuild myself right now. How did the install go when you put it back on the lift?

    • @RonixViva
      @RonixViva  Рік тому

      How do you mean?
      It was pretty straight forward.
      I used a couple ratchet straps to the top of post(s) to hold it in place and just reinstalled the cross bolts.
      Put the lift cables through the cradle.
      Threaded on the shoulder nuts.
      Then put the winch back together.

      @@RonixViva I was just wondering if it went well and was easy. Sounds like it was. I was originally thinking it might be difficult to level the cradle without pulling the whole lift out of the water. I’m assuming your lift stayed in the water during the rebuild and install as well?

      Also, thanks for sharing how you tied up the cables. I was wondering how I was going to pull everything through without the proprietary stick tool they use in the ShoreStation video.

      @@nateleafoh yeah piece of cake.
      Lift is parallel to the dock.
      I held the cradle up out of the water by a couple other straps to the top of the posts.
      As far as leveling the winch tube, I just put the tube straps in the same location. You can see the witness marks on the leg tubes.

    Thanks, very helpful, is the cabling of this vid pretty much the same ? ua-cam.com/video/4ggfIbt1fJo/v-deo.html. 4 total cables, lift cable, winch cable and 2 leveling cables?
