Revisiting this one... Lynch's tone is hella thick! No over abundance of effects. Raw. I love this era of George lynch. His playing was fast and sinister. The band is tight and it's good to hear Don screaming at the height of prime.
I agree! The sound quality on this recording is much better than the sound quality on Beast from the East! There is more low end and Don's vocals do not sound nasal. This recording is awesome! No need for overdubs!
This should have been released for the live lp beast is ok but the sound is way fuckin better I think they were underrated they had some great songs I saw them live and it was a great show in 1991 or about then they opened with Paris is burning that shit was cool
If I am not mistaken, this is the same recording that appears on Beast from the East. However, on Beast there were overdubs and it was professionally mixed by Michael Wagener. This recording is in your face and offers no opologies!
This show is great & so is the Professional release we got. People complaining about over dubs NOTHING WRONG WITH IT ! Either people have to much time on there hands or just like to complain about something !
I don't know if anyone has heard this rumor but I heard or read somewhere that beast from the east was pro shot by a promoter in Japan but couldn't be released for legal reasons or something. I know I'm not going crazy but I read it somewhere. If not beast from the east one of the last shows in Japan in 88.
There was a concert that was professionally filmed by the record company and would be released on VHS along with Beast From The East, but Jeff Pilson told me that due to a technical failure apparently with the lights, the images could not be used, and only they were able to rescue the audio
Perhaps this live recording would have done much better if it had this album cover and title instead of the Beast from the East title and album cover art.
I love the beast from the east cover art, it's awesome. If I didn't know who Dokken was and saw that cover art, I'd probably buy the album. Beast from the east won best metal performance so it didn't do bad lol
I use to have a Ibanez DSP with the pitch effect. I find it great to create ambient noises, but never deemed it great for a solo. You're right. It sounded like an arcade game.
I've heard another live version of it and he skipped it there as well, it's unfortunate it's one of my favorites off of "Back for the attack" and one of my favorite Lynch Solo's....
George was on fire for the most part. Not Don's best performance, he was struggling with his mid range and high register at the same time. He was making mistakes with the lyrics as well, both in When heaven comes down and Lost behind the wall
@@lrn_news9171actually back for the attack is the only one in real 440 standard Tuning. The other ones are around 427hz which is between standard and 1/2 step down.

Terrific upload and holy shit what a treat to hear how great Don Dokken's voice was live in his prime. One of the greatest bands of the 80's
Love Dons voice
当時、ここに居ましたよ^^
貴重な音源ありがとうございますm(_ _)m
What a band this was, without a doubt one of best bands from the Strip.

Great quality. 😍
Just awesome sound quality thanks
Man Don sounded great on that Alone Again intro
His low end is in. sane. His high. low end. is even crazier I don't know how to hell. He got this sound. Probably the best sound of the 80s. Bar none.

The songs are performed nothing like BFTE.
Definitely not the recording from beast from the East. Although I wish there was a recording of Lost behind the walls on beast from the East
You guys don't stop it through my life you go on thank you
Better recording and performance. Why the he'll didn't this get released instead of "beast from the east"?
It’s basically the same recording
COMPLETELY AWESOME!
WOW, that tone in When Heaven Comes Down omg, I think I felt it move lol
Love this band
there is no "Just Got Lucky"! (((

Been eagerly waiting and on watch for a long time now for any video recordings of these performances. Dokken is one of the best.

What is the name of this live album and is it still available?
does anybody know whY George has the octaver on BEFORE Mr. scary in his guitar solo??? it's weird lol...perfect 8-bit arcade music though

Super doken
I guess Lynch decided to skip the solo for Lost Behind The Wall. I guess they all were really out of it in this concert hahaha
I've heard another live version of it and he skipped it there as well, it's unfortunate it's one of my favorites off of "Back for the attack" and one of my favorite Lynch Solo's....

@@shamrock32 It's also one of my favorite dokken song. Very simple song but it kicks ass. I love the fact that it's about the berlin wall
Smegtastic!!!!!!!!!!!
FUCK YEAH!!! just like it should sound! too many overdubs on beast from the east
Dokken uno de los grandisimos grupos heavys de los 80 sin duda enormes
Does anyone know what Don says around 29:00 mark ? Something is said in there ?
The pitch is too high of this recording , should be 1/2 step down to E flat .
OCS Environmental Services They always play in standart tuning live :)
Back for the attack was standard tuning, Under lock and key was 1/2 step down.
Not sure about tooth and nail but breaking the chains was standard
@@lrn_news9171actually back for the attack is the only one in real 440 standard Tuning. The other ones are around 427hz which is between standard and 1/2 step down.
I think George Lynch makes this band
That live solo is awful. Sounds like a harmonizer was on the entire time.
He said in a video that je was using a mutron octaver pedal
Not as good as beast from the east
