Breaking the Chains. Yeah. Don helped out the Scorpions put songs together while Klaus was recovering from throat surgery. So glad Klaus made it back. He's the best rock voice ever in my opinion. And I saw Dokken and the Scorpions at the 1st Monsters of Rock concert together in 88. Great memories. After the Scorpions we left 1/2 way thru Van Halen. Sorry buy Scorpions were a lot better.

Wasn't this album recorded in stereo? Looking for the original 1981 Carrere recordings, but in stereo, not monaural like they are here and another post.

If memory serves me, someone in the band confirmed this was Carl's demo tape that got stolen near the end of the sessions. The only thing it is missing is Don't Cry which is the one they went back wrote and recorded after Kalodner said he didn't hear a radio hit.

People have complained about these demos. They are tracks for framing in the lyrics. Jeff could have been the lead singer of this song instead of Don.....why not?

To bad the songs that aren't on beast from the east wasn't added like standing in the shadows, heartless 💔 heart,burning like a flame,and sleepless nights were not put on beast from the east

Revisiting this one... Lynch's tone is hella thick! No over abundance of effects. Raw. I love this era of George lynch. His playing was fast and sinister. The band is tight and it's good to hear Don screaming at the height of prime.

Don is such a cool guy! Played this song on Sunset beach in Oahu as I said a final goodbye to my sister who passed from cancer.

Theres two versions of this rehearsal "LAST TO KNOW" recording and compling LYRICS and the Organ "Wertizler" TONE SYMFONIA the same tone he used in "RADIO KILLED THE VIDEO STAR" amazing composer he would spend 10 hours of rehearsals mastering ALPHA ASIA at 27:38

Man, that was great . Thanks for posting this ! What made Dokken unique was 1. The songs 2. George Lynch’s sound 3. Probably just as important were the Harmonies from Pilson. Don was the main singer but Jeff provided the power vocals when the songs required them ( usually the chorus : Lucky , in my dreams , hunter etc). My favorite band of the 80’s.❤

Basically the same but doesn't have George's aggressive playing. It needs that
