I saw this line up at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1982. Please don't touch was a cover of Johnny Kidd & the Pirates original version & featured on the Motorhead/Girlschool EP St. Valentine's Day Massacre.
BIG THANKS for sharing this ! The world needs more music like this today. Every day i turn the radio on, i need to turn it off very soon to prevent to puke all over the place... 🤮 Only plastic music for plastic people nowadays... 😪
Well, I never listen to radio at all😂 it’s very low chances to catch some like early Motörhead on modern FM starions😂 however, it’s just a question of time: after 30 years many, many people will write about todays plastic music “world needs music like this today“😅
@@TheSchmedyeah in an interview lem said “when we just started out I didn’t want to see the crowd and see we were playing for 4 people and a dog, so I brought the mic up and we just played our hearts out” Not a direct quote. I’m paraphrasing
Even better, it's an 8 string Hagstom that Jimi Hendrix gave him. They were on the Bomber tour at the time so I guess his Rickys were in a truck somewhere and he grabbed what he had at home for the TOTP appearance (for which you often didn't get much notice).
I saw this lineup just six weeks before this performance of Leaving Here. That was at West Runton Pavilion in north Norfolk (15th March 1980) and my ears have never been the same since!
nwobhm is my personal fave time in metal history, just think that VENOM, MAIDEN, DIAMOND HEAD , WITCHFINDER and MOTORHEAD came out of it, it will never happen again, just iconic.
Yes St.Valetines day massacre Please don't touch together with Girlschool Bomber played by Girlschool Emergency played by Motorhead Ihave the original 10" by Bronze rec.
Motorhead - British TV Appearances 79-81* Bomber * Leaving Here * Ace Of Spades * Please Don't Touch 2046pm 19.12.24 your survival counted on the fact they're all blind as bats...now then if you don't like this band you need to shut up and dislike in your own time.... playing live we hope else all that stack was just a load of old pony. .................excellent band... let's leave it at that, eh?
I lost a bit of respect for Motörhead one night, when I saw them at the Beacon Theatre in Manhattan, NYC in 1985 and Mercyful Fate had opened for them, and MF were kicking total ass, the band sounded great, the King hitting every note, and Motörhead was going to have a hard time following, much like when Metallica opened for GnR. Well, midway through an encore song the King and MF were doing, goons came out and dragged them off the stage, everyone was booing, Lemmy came across as a pu55y that night.
RIP Motorhead,Lemmy,Fast Eddie, and Philthy Phil. What a band.
That's the classic line up
Never see the likes of them again.
Nothing pedophilic about them at all no sir
@@DanFernandesBenficaSaintWhat are you implying?
Did You give up on them after Eddie left?
That’s true Rock’n’Roll! Fast and hard 🤘Sure, this lineup was most iconic in Motörhead history 👍
I saw this line up at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1982. Please don't touch was a cover of Johnny Kidd & the Pirates original version & featured on the Motorhead/Girlschool EP St. Valentine's Day Massacre.
I have signed albums by the original Motörhead when I met them at zig zag records in brooklyn
Great singer
Heavy metal lost a outstanding group
Motorhead weren't heavy metal. They were a rock and roll band.
We're Motorhead and we play rock and roll.
Punk + metal = Motorhead
So did punk.
Motorhead should ALL WAYS be played at HIGH VOLUME in a residential area !!!!
In a room stacked with amps turned up to eleven trying really, really hard to not fall asleep for the first time in five days.
Best line up of motorhead ever, rip to them all, also nice to see captain sensible at the side on the bomber song 😄😉😆.
Hahaha love it loved Captain sensible fab irony best wishes
Thanks you have a great taste in music 😊☺😉.
The Damned & Motörhead had a special relationship.....Motördamned!!
Classic line up for sure, but I loved the Robbo album.
Eddies using Caps guitar. ironically The Damned were playing 'I just cant be happy today'
& Sensible was on keyboard
The drummer is front center stage, gotta love Motorhead for not always following the status quo
That was a pretty common setup for Top Of The Pops.
What a loss... Motorhead... Best, hardest F..kers... Love an respect... See you soon guys 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻

I don't bother with radio at all for ages now 👍
@@kate6038Dito🫡
I agree, and they can’t even make their own music. They sample from the legends and then call it their own.
🤘🏻✊🏻🇸🇪
MOTORHEAD and THE RAMONES ... Two of THE BEST EVER ... LONG live their Legacy !!!!!
We are motörhead and we play Rock'n Roll, greetings from Hamburg Germany
Society needs a good dose of motorhead
Now that is the truth 👌, in more ways than one.
Not used to hearing the studio version of Bomber (No Sleep Til is my go to). Almost has some swing to it. Cool
This is superb. It's a shame you didn't include their appearance on the Young Ones, awesome.😊
Leaving Here was a blast!.....they all threw out some chops, chaos ensues....lovely chaos!
That opening sequence on bass. Gets me every time 😎
Hell yeah nice to see this old footage on TOTP wish it was on Dutch T.V back than
'The Ace of Spades...the Ace of Spades...'
Lemmy brought in that whole singing “up” into the mic.
stage fright is why he did it
@@chrismemphis8062 wow, everything has an explanation, and this seems 100%

Lemmy liked Jim Bowen, darts and Bully’s star prize on a Sunday after the pub.
What a line-up. This was my Motorhead band i knew than.
Simply lovely
Best line up ever
Oh, Lemmy with an Eight-String Hagstrom?
エディもファイヤーバードw
Perfect 👌

Top of the Pops audience struggled to dance to it.
The 3 dude's at the front seemed to have the head banging down to a T , but yeah , the rest of the audience seemed to be struggling with it 😂😂😂😂 !
They're all together in the great hereafter still jamming.
The beauty of l don't give a F*ck,,play loud n proud alright alright alright alright
Fukin fantastic !
Legendary
🤘🏻
They were an untamed force of nature. Often copied and never equaled.
Back then they had no auto-tune.
lip synch doesnt need it
Man... how hard can one band rock? The masters.
I saw this lineup just six weeks before this performance of Leaving Here. That was at West Runton Pavilion in north Norfolk (15th March 1980) and my ears have never been the same since!
Lemmy, Phil and Eddie, that's Motörhead
The ...metal band. ...of all time
Lemmy HATED anyone calling them "metal." And with good reason.
@princeofcupspoc9073
Ok...Best...what ever...band ..of all time..
Metal IS rock n roll
Influenced many , including the thrash punk bands
Discharge , Disorder , Chaos UK etc
I remember seeing them on "The Young Ones"!
man i used to love wearing my leather jacket, same as Lems.with the lapels ..a couple Motorhead tapes kicked in the pockets
The best line up!
Первый раз услышал эту группу. Мне 60. Нормально Чуваки рубят. Спасибо.
RIP THE 3 AMIGOS. ♠️♠️♠️
Sort of heavy metal/Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!!!!!!!!
Punk rock'n'roll
No, it’s kick ass rock ‘n’ roll
Love Phils hat...
That poor guy ständing right in front of the kick drums...
Would have liked ro have been that "poor fella"
Playing and singing ROCK with the phonograme? I don't something understand)))))
Never seen Lemmy playing an 8 string bass before, let alone not being a Rickenbacher.
They played Rock and Roll.
Cool
Did anyone really play live on that TOTP show? Nothings plugged in 😂😂
Nope. There was a big Union issue, look it up, I thought it was an interesting impasse.
nwobhm is my personal fave time in metal history, just think that VENOM, MAIDEN, DIAMOND HEAD , WITCHFINDER and MOTORHEAD came out of it, it will never happen again, just iconic.
Properrr❤
The first clip was strange.
Not one instrument was originally motorhead 's
Inc drums.
Must of borrowed them from TOTP
Philthy Animal is chewing his speed gum😂
Whale Oil Beef Hooked t-shirt I think too.
Meth is a crazy drug.philthy chewed gim constant on crank binders...
Only 2nd time heard please don't touch.
Motörhead were so badass, they didn't need amps
Imaculatta ❤❤❤❤❤Maryja
Motorhead made two awesome records (Overkill and Another Perfect Day).
Eat the rich
Another perfect day is very underrated, great great album.
The world isn’t as cool without Lemmy
REST IN POWER TOGETHER IN HEAVEN🤘🏻☀️💫🕯❤️🩹
I fkin hate commercials interrupting music
These people invented their own sound.
That’s the difference between then and now, basic instruments but every ounce squeezed out of them with creativity
Joya ,que polenta!!!🇦🇷😈
I never saw Motörhead😭
you missed out dude
Them 3 boys eadbanging , yay ,
🤘
LOAD MOTORDAMN ` BALLROOM BLITZ `
With Girlschool! I think they released an ep together.
Yes St.Valetines day massacre
Please don't touch together with Girlschool
Bomber played by Girlschool
Emergency played by Motorhead
Ihave the original 10" by Bronze rec.
I remember travelling to Brussels from Victoria coach station in London to watch them both play. It was a bit of a wild time over there.🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Did not know Eddie ever played a Firebird
He’s miming with whatever plank they had backstage!
Motorhead...ça ce là origine...lemmy, phil, eddie.
Play Back!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
Lemmy é Deus
Always said these are are the Ramones only louder and with leads mffm
In 2024, a "band" is a couple people pretending to play instruments with a drum track and someone mumbling or screaming.
We had those in the early eighties btw :)
Ironic that Motorhead are here pretending to play instruments and to a backing track
Espetacular 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Fast Eddie was one of a kind.
REELO
A little bit of cocaine came out of the screen every time the drummer was shown. Did that happen for anyone else?
Odd they have Philthy Animal front and center with his kit.
Easily the loudest band I ever heard.
I'm lee-vin here
When lemmy died real music died Rip
God listens to Motörhead
Металлюги гривой трясут😂
Если есть грива - она должна трястись и развеваться на всех ветрах

Basically punks, with long hair and better guitar solos.
Almost as though they're not playing
PHILTY "ANIMAL" TAYLOR!!!
Excellent band, but miming on TOTP with no guitar leads, like all the other suckups who didn't send it up.
Filthy animal on drums😂
They sucked then ,and still do
You know nothing. Take your ignorance elsewhere
@revwillyg6450 that's your opinion,I have my own,,I saw them live and still say they sucked.
Obama should have used this as his campaign song
