Mexico is in America, but if you mean the US, even if I could, which I highly doubt, then I'd be in the US, and that's definitely not where I want to be. That terrain you're seeing that looks like mars is the Sierra. It's nature. Teaming with wildlife, space, fresh air, and freedom.
Living my whole life in the USA without any bad event… that is totally incredible, but people I know have been shot at and murdered in a mass shooting. Can you see that?
@@HildaAcosta-y1k Quien dicen eso? Problamente gente que no viven aqui. Por supuesto algunos lugares son peligrosos, pero es iqual en US o Canada tambien.
Infested... I see one snake a year if I'm lucky, (and it's never been a rattlesnake) and a few scorpions. It's the price I pay for being surrounded by nature, and I'm definitely willing to pay it.
@@BlueSkySanctuaryBaja ! Have lived in Mexico for the last 11 years. Yes, it is a freer country in many ways. But the government sucks and the cartels rule and the cops are useless. There is a happy medium.
I own the land through a Trust agreement held by the bank, called a Fideicomiso. Are you familiar with this? Thousands of foreigners have bought property in Mexico this way. Do you own a house where you are? Do you realize you don't actually own that house? Until you pay off your mortgage your house is the bank's property. All that said, I'm curious what makes you think you know that I don't own the land?
@BlueSkySanctuaryBaja no I do not own a house I live on the road I work on cattle ranches around the United States because I have many many friends that live in Mexico I'm born and raised on the Mexicali Calexico border very familiar with people that have places in Mexico
This place creates it's own water everyday, as shown in the video, but that aside, pointless? Really. Living off grid has enabled me to live where I want in Mexico with out being limited by trying to connect to utilities. It means I live in a beautiful area surrounded by nature, by the ocean, where I can have a fire every night & not be bothered by neighbors & bi-laws, where I can grow my own food & enjoy my freedom. What point am I missing?
Awesome tour of the place, it was like I was watching MTV cribs or one of those "Home Makeover" shows on Hallmark Channel. You nailed it, like an absolute pro. If "Love it or List it" (it is a show, look it up) ever needs a new host they need to contact you, because you are a natural. Oh and if the Baja Tourism Board ever needs a Tour Guide, they know where to find you🏡

I was just talking today to another gringo about how easy it is to find your tribe here, as we're all quite like minded, similar values and just the right amount of crazy/rebellious no? Jaja. Congrats on everything you did over there in La Ventana, that's awesome. Yes, very hot work, and so very satisfying. There's so much more to do here, this will be a work in progress for years to come, and I'm up for it! Keep in touch for sure, salud!
@@BlueSkySanctuaryBaja It's called Rancho Sueño Azul. I always loved the word Azul and there is a Bahía de los Sueños nearby here. We put them together for a perfect description of our scene high in the sky above the sea. If you translate your name to Santuario del Cielo Azul Baja you can embrace your inner Azul too! All the best...
@@davehoagland8869 beautiful name and I see what you mean with the similarity. Also I caught a glimpse of your comment before you edit it, and I have some favorite strains too, sshh.. ;) Salud to Baja Azul y Pura Vida
Love your place! We are in Mexico and have been for over 6 years and love it. We have 30 solar panels and love having solar. It would be great to see a video on how you learned Spanish. Those are so popular these days and might get you a bunch of new subscribers!
30 solar panels wow, you are set, nice work!! Thank you for your kind words & feedback. How I learned Spanish hey? I never thought to share that, maybe I will! But the short answer is about ten years of duolingo, an on line course called Speak Like a Local, and then the biggest contributing factor, working with a team who didn't speak English!
Is it true you're related to Steven Tyler of Aerosmith?
Haha, are you asking because of the silver streak? It's 100% natural, and as far as I know we're not related lol
Come to Upland California, they have alot of Recycling place,
There's an infinite supply of glass bottles here, just waiting to be turned into something useful
What part of mexico
What is the property tax yearly?
Around $700US if I'm not mistaken. I'd have to pull the paperwork out to be sure but that's it give or take.
@@BlueSkySanctuaryBaja that is a lot $$ since your off the grid. Since looking in your videos your not in a city or town with good roads in front of your home. nor fresh water line from city.
@@mr.g1683 Okay Mr. G, you made me pull the paperwork out, and I was way off, you got me! It also appears that I haven't paid my 2023 taxes, so thanks for making me realize that! (They're very relaxed about these things here. You get no notifications at all honestly) So. Bottom line. Property tax in 2022 was only 5500pesos, so $250US give or take. I was probably combining taxes with fideicomisco, which is your contract with the bank you have to own property here, and together they come to about $700/year. Side note, I do live in one of the most expensive areas of Mexico, and even though there's a lot of open space around my place, I'm def in city limits with excellent stores & restaurants/amenities 2 - 5 minutes away.
@@BlueSkySanctuaryBaja thank you kindly for the update. We both learned something new. :-)
@@mr.g1683 true, thank YOU ;)
well you did a wonderful job and proved to me that Mexico is a good option
Thank you Tina! My next video shares some of the hardships I've faced here if you want to stay tuned. Not to scare you or anybody, just to share the full spectrum, and not just the good days ;)
No security bars on windows door hum
Nope. Security dogs are way more effective than security bars imo, and in the opinion of most locals. I also have to say I didn't come to live a life of freedom looking through barred windows like a jail cell.

I’m just wondering about your safety. Mexico seems very unsafe these days. How has it been for you?
Funny you should ask, I just made a video about exactly that! Here it is if you'd like to check it out, but long story short, I feel very safe here. I'd love to hear your thoughts after you watch the video if you're so inspired :) Thanks for tuning in! ua-cam.com/video/pvF6YPheCqY/v-deo.html&ab_channel=BlueSkySanctuary
How far from the beach.
Ten minutes
That ladder is a death trap, get a new and safe one, other than that great video
I totally agree with you, that ladder definitely needs to be replaced, good eye!
Looks like mars you coukd of done this in America for same price
Mexico is in America, but if you mean the US, even if I could, which I highly doubt, then I'd be in the US, and that's definitely not where I want to be. That terrain you're seeing that looks like mars is the Sierra. It's nature. Teaming with wildlife, space, fresh air, and freedom.
Watch out for the cartels...😬
I just made a video about exactly that, if you'd like to check it out here's the link ua-cam.com/video/pvF6YPheCqY/v-deo.html
I don't see how you can live there for so long without a bad event.
Living my whole life in the USA without any bad event… that is totally incredible, but people I know have been shot at and murdered in a mass shooting. Can you see that?
COMO puedes vivir en MX,!!!!!!!
Me encanta!!! Porque?
@@BlueSkySanctuaryBaja DICEN QUE PELIGROSO
Rattlesnake and scorpion infested.
Infested... I see one snake a year if I'm lucky, (and it's never been a rattlesnake) and a few scorpions. It's the price I pay for being surrounded by nature, and I'm definitely willing to pay it.
Music too loud.
It stops completely at about the 2-3 minute mark. Thanks for the feedback :)
Sensible person in a stupid complicated world. Food shelter clothes water. Simple.
Getting back to basics for sure.
Not really a very safe thing to do in Mexico. Mexico is basically a lawless country in too many ways
I'd take lawlessness over being over governed any day of the week, that's a big part of why I'm here.
@@BlueSkySanctuaryBaja ! Have lived in Mexico for the last 11 years. Yes, it is a freer country in many ways. But the government sucks and the cartels rule and the cops are useless. There is a happy medium.
Glad yo ur happy. Not for me.
It's definitely not for everybody. Wishing you all the best, thank you for tuning in.
You realize you do not own the land in Mexico ?
@@sheribrummett1960 May I ask again then, what made you think I don't own my property?
That whole place is pointless without its own water source
This place creates it's own water everyday, as shown in the video, but that aside, pointless? Really. Living off grid has enabled me to live where I want in Mexico with out being limited by trying to connect to utilities. It means I live in a beautiful area surrounded by nature, by the ocean, where I can have a fire every night & not be bothered by neighbors & bi-laws, where I can grow my own food & enjoy my freedom. What point am I missing?
GOOD LUCK...YOU VETTER HOPE THE FEDERALE GANGSTERS DONT TAKE IT FROM YOU..
No thank you.
It's definitely not for everyone!
Nice until a truck load of cartel members arrive and then what....
Well that depends. What are they showing up for? Before I answer your question I want to understand what you're asking.
Oh and if the Baja Tourism Board ever needs a Tour Guide, they know where to find you🏡
Thanks as always for bringing the humor Isobel's future husband, and the complimentary feedback lol. I'm very familiar with Love it or List it, I love that show! Along with pretty much any house hunting show HGTV has ever produced. 🤓
Hello. Check on a EG4 mini split, runs 100% off solar no batteries needed. It can run all day with just solar panels never needing to drain batteries.
Hi there, thanks for the tip! I already have my mini split set up here so I'm good to go but I googled EG4 mini split and nothing that meets your description came up. Maybe they're not available in Mexico yet..
@@BlueSkySanctuaryBaja I just googled it and it showed right up.
@@MagaMonkeysMovetoRussia I googled again thanks to your comment, and scrolled for a moment and found it! A really flexible sounding option for sure, can connect to basically any power supply & or just pull direct from the sun during the day, perfect!
