Here's the timeline so many of you missed. In February of 2020, Trump made an agreement with the provisional Afghan government and the Taliban. They released 5,000 Taliban prisoners. Then they set a deadline of May 2021 to leave the country. Then he and his administration did nothing. They did not make a plan for the withdrawal. They just left it and went on the campaign trail. So yeah, the withdrawal was disorganized and the Taliban were ready to attack. They had over a year to plan it, and 5,000 extra troops to execute it. And now, after two decades, thousands of dead US troops, and trillions of dollars spent, Afghanistan is worse off than before.
