This happened to me as well! My grandma's sister got custody of me and was able to have the debts completely removed from my credit report as they were all put in my name before I even turned 10 years old. I am forever grateful for her. I've heard this is a really long process of removal though and she had to get a lawyer. It's absolutely insane that this can even happen! I hope the system has better safeguards for this these days.

They don't pay for many visits though, usually only 6 or so but it's a start. Also, if she has any sexual assault history or even just with the ex-jerk's abuse history, one can go to a local women's crisis center & get FREE counseling from peer support counselors who do help with the trauma aspects as many are trained in PTSD and CPTSD (which isn't actually an official diagnosis yet with the DSM-5) because most PTSD is long term, or comes & goes with triggering events. Stephani if you can read this, my husband and I are both 35 and can relate to you sooo much. We both grew up in extremely abusive impoverished households as well albeit in a Midwest city. I just started unpacking a lot of my trauma .(I don't use this world lightly or incorrectly) Anyhow, please read this book: Complex PTSD: From Surviving to Thriving: A Guide and Map for Recovering from Childhood Trauma. It's been very helpful for me and one of the hardest book I've ever because instead of finding ways to escape my past it's like facing it head on and has the exercises to do if you can be self-motivated. I wish you the best

I’m in that unpacking part too which makes it hard for concentration and keeping my timeline straight. I’m wishing y’all a good holiday weekend and luck with the journey. I’m starting my own page now so I can help educated the masses apparently about CPTSD and people can be less heartless and hurtful. I’m reading most comments say I don’t take responsibility but one thing I learned in therapy that none of the decisions were ones I was educated well enough to make. I raised myself from the age of 9 of course I did a terrible job. I was 9 watching 3 -4 other siblings and our mom was in jail. Mentally/ and emotionally maturity are things I am having to learn to see I am not as bad as others try to make me believe.

Not to mention even Caleb says her spending habits aren’t that bad compared to others. Come the fuck on. Let’s see you start with those handicaps and succeed.

I have been binge watching approx.15 of your videos...love the way you go about interviewing and outlining people's financial habits.
One common theme I am picking up on, is that the main reason people are in a financial compromised situation because they basically will not OWN their situation as it was caused by someone else or some situation which they could not control so it wasn't their fault and therefore not their problem.
Your approach makes it their problem and once they accept that they have a problem then they can plan to fix the problem..........the age-old adage you cannot fix it unless you accept that it is broke.
PS: I get infuriated at the education system (not the teachers) when I see young people that have no idea about how to manage money..............schooling teaches you how to get a job so that you can earn money, but they do not teach you how to manage that money, which is way more important.

Caleb you are wrong with the income based repayment in her case because she can qualify for PLSF as a nurse. She needs to know this!! My wife is a nurse and has a lot of student loan debt, but after 120 qualifying minimum payments under ANY plan your loans will be forgiven. Her job can set it up very easily. So why not go for the plan that lets you pay the least amount of money per month? However if someone doesn't qualify then making $6 minimum payments will never decrease their loan; you are correct in that regard.
